    Horrible so disappointed, Rockstar used to be one of the pivotal gaming companies of our time. They literally slapped on a new skin (that was poorly done) and called it a day, there are current mods using their own engine that has more heart and soul than this game. This game is just a cash grab, it sucks to see a lot of gaming companies do this now with micro transactions and "remasters".

    Original with mods is miles beyond this remaster.
    No wonder Rockstar tried to take down mods recently.

It's the same company that released the mobile ports of the original games and they have all sorts of issues. The definitive edition is also all based on the mobile ports. Here's just a small list of some of the issues this definitive edition has. -taillights don't work
    -wrong menu noises
    -EVERY SINGLE MOBILE PORT BUG IS HERE -crazy pop in
    -textures refuse to load
    -San Andreas is too dark at times while III isn't dark enough
    -grammatical errors
    -tank cannon is near silent
    -fire and molotovs make no noise a lot of the time
    -Supposedly cut songs are in the game files and are just disabled by a script
    -less destructible items
    -no footprints in the sand
    -door windows cannot be shot out in cars
    -cars will not hit you on the highway and instead come to a instant stop
    -certain models removed but not their collisions
    -garage capacities have been reduced due to the devs putting in scenic objects in the garages
    -awning textures are messed up in GTA III
    -dude with headphones sometimes doesn't have them but still makes music in GTA III
    -Cars instantly stop if you touch them in GTA III

    The Rockstar ruined the game by removing the Confederate flag from the game. The graphics and mechanics of the game have deteriorated. It's impossible to make the remaster of the game surpass the original, so I think Rockstar ruined the game. I'm not happy.

    Unfortunately the game was very poorly done, it seems they did it just to earn easy money. This trilogy deserved at least one remake but as it was remastered at least if it did better, it doesn't pay to waste time on it and much of what was promised was not delivered.

    They knew damn well that this remaster was hot garbage, removing the old games from Steam and then only having the original and the "remasters" on their own store so they can avoid the refund policy Steam has.
    Not to mention avoid all the negative reviews on there.

    Although it is a nice touch to re-release this games with various enhancements, it isn't worth 60$ by any means. It really feels like they threw some cheap shaders, models and texture mods, and that's all about it. It also has severe performance issues, bugs and glitches. Do not buy.

Models look awful and strangely plastic-like, bugs were preserved and multiplied. And on top of that they had an audacity to remove the original versions.     Instead of renewing the song licenses that come in the original version, and using the RAGE engine. They only used the unreal engine 4 and there are a lot of new bugs and glitches.

The only 'definitive' thing about this game is that it is definitively terrible and somehow worse than the San Andreas 'remaster' released on the Xbox 360.     Nothing close to what a billion dollar company can do. These games deserved a much better treatment than cheap model, texture and lightning updates. Animations are archaic, main menus of all 3 games just use San Andreas sound effects, no update to classic intros. Just a quick and lazy nostalgia cash grab.

    Чего ждали от переиздания все игроки:
    Переработанные анимации NPC, переработку механик стрельбы и вождения, добавление механики плавания в GTA 3 и Vice City, рэгдолл*, улучшение физики повреждения транспорта и современный звуковой дизайн.
    Иными словами, игроки хотели, чтобы вы переделали игру под стандарты геймдизайна 2021 года.

    Что мы получили в итоге:
    Улучшенный цветокор, увеличенную дальность прорисовки, селектор оружия из GTA V, GPS на мини карте, мультяшный графический дизайн мира и удаление половины классных треков с радио. Всё.

    Вы скажете: «Ну так это и есть “remastered”» и будете абсолютно правы.

    Тогда у меня возникает вопрос.
    А на кой х%р нам нужен обычный remastered игр 20 летней давности, если вы оставили те же корявые анимации, баги, физику и прочее?

    Вы отдали разработку этих игр компании “Grove Street Games”, которая сделала отвратительный порт GTA на PS3 и XBOX 360, и ещё более худший порт на iOS и Android.
    И вы решили им доверить полноценное переиздание?
    У вас всё в порядке с головой?

    Видимо в атмосферу GTA, по мнению Rockstar Games и Grove Street Games, входит и колоссально огромное количество багов из оригинала.

    Если вы захотели выставить такую цену, значит вы были обязаны сделать ремейк без изменений в сюжете.

    На дворе 2021 год, а я умираю, когда падаю в воду в GTA: Vice City.
    Это, бл%ть, нормально?

    Все персонажи, транспорт, дома как будто обмазаны двойным слоем пластилина и тройным слоем воска. Глаза обливаются кровью.

    Стрельба такая же отвратная, как и в оригинале, физика транспорта на том же уровне, анимации остались такими же забагованными, звуки такого же низкого, по современным меркам, качества.
    Когда ты просто идёшь по улице, тебе встречаются 5 или 6 одинаковых NPC. Когда едешь на машине и врезаешься в другой объект, капот всё так же отлетает, как бумажный лист без физической массы и это ещё далеко не всё.

    Вы засудили создателей глобальных модификаций за то, что они якобы нарушили лицензионное соглашение, но дело ведь ни только в этом, так?
    Ещё несколько лет назад модификации обычных энтузиастов выглядели куда лучше, чем то, что вы выпустили сейчас. У вас от этого жопа сгорела.
    Само собой, Take-Two задались вопросом: «А как мы продадим нашу обновлённую трилогию, если более красивое переиздание можно собрать из различных уже готовых бесплатных ассетов от энтузиастов?».
    И они нашли ответ.

    Да, модификации игроков плохо оптимизированы под саму игру, часто вылетают и глючат, но за них не просили по 60$.

    Rain effects make the games unplayable sometimes. Models are very bad. New textures are horrible at places. Most post-effects are terrible and out of place.     Terrível, é um tapa na cara do jogador esses jogos vergonhosos, modelos de personagens piores que o original, além de ter trazido junto todos os bugs dos originais, na verdade fomos contemplados com ainda mais bugs e instabilidade, nada da jogabilidade, física e gameplay foi alterado, tudo está igual ou pior, e tudo isso por um preço exorbitante e fora da realidade.

    Doesn't deserve a 0 but this game wasn't ready for release. It's buggy with many glitches and the characters besides CJ kind of look terrible - worse than the original play station release. Though the environmental graphics are amazing. I don't like the sky too much but that's just my opinion. I just wish Rockstar up-ed their game and release something that was worth the money.     GTA: DE is the WORST game release I have EVER seen. Taking $60 for a remaster, that is so poorly made that I have not seen ONE thing that works or looks good. The characters are poorly modeled, the facial expressions of the characters are emotionless, the physics engine goes nuts at times.     Releasing the game on PlayStation by accident a day early, and not allowing the PC Players to be able to play an OFFLINE game without connecting to R*'s game services is such a scummy thing, also the services to perform this process went offline for ""maintenance"" directly after the game went live. PC players paid $60 for the game that they cannot even play since the servers are offline, and R* did not automatically offer a refund. This is required by consumer law. R* has charged for a product, then revoked that product and by law should automatically offer a refund for revoking the rights to play the game that PC players paid $60 for. R* chose not to do thins, thinking they can just take people's money without consequence.

    Another issue is that Take2 Interactive has tried tirelessly to remove user and fan made mods. Take2 has been suing fans for making mods to let R* make the improvements themselves. R* and T2 sued mod makers into taking down modifications for the original trilogy so R* can make the game better themselves and charge for it. When the final product of Definitive Edition came out it looks and controls like total, utter, and complete dog **** This has proved that R* CANNOT create a better product than the fan base anymore, or any good product at all for that matter. They are one of the most incompetent companies on the planet.

    Another thing that baffles me is that when the modders do a better job at making improvements to the game, why not pay the creators for those modifications and implement them? People are making FREE updates and upgrades to your games, keeping people coming back to the games time and time again, and instead R*/T2 is choosing to remove them and make the modifications themselves, AND CHARGING FULL PRICE FOR IT! I cannot fathom how a company can make such horrible, nonsensical, and unethical decisions.

    R*'s reputation with GTA Online has also been haunting them for years now. GTA Online has countless problems, such as being un-fun to play, a model to irritate players into buying shark cards, awful peer to peer infrastructure, not releasing other games while GTA Online gets updated, not informing fans about any internal development, making fans wait months for an update that includes a single day of content, and many more issues. GTA Online is meant to be tedious, irritating, and a waste of time so that poor souls that play the game are tempted to buy micro-transactions to avoid having to deal with the tedious gameplay of grinding boring and tedious contact missions. Other players are also incentivized to ruin eachother's progress for money. Participating in the businesses that the game includes as methods to make money has the risk of a random player destroying your shipment, erasing all of your progress. Also the vehicles that people can buy to grief each other require NO skill to use. The worst offender is known as the "Oppressor MkII"; a flying, hovering motorcycle that shoots homing missiles, that can make swift turns, can auto lock onto players. It is VERY easy to kill players in the game and ruin someone else's progress that they have spent hours on. This further pushes the player to buy micro-transactions to avoid the payout loss they just went through. The next issue is the awful peer-to-peer infrastructure. This way of connecting players means that every player's IP address in a lobby is sent to all the other players in the lobby, rather than sending that information to a central server that then re-distributes the information out. This means that any player with a mod menu can view everyone else's IP address, posing a massive security risk. R* is too cheap to pay for servers to run the games, thus pushing the responsibility of security on the player themselves. R* forces players to run their games from the R* launcher, which is a poorly developed tool that offers no internal information at all.

    This company's reputation has been long soiled and leave a negative taste on players no matter what they release, especially when they release the original trilogy of GTA, charging full price for it, and when the final product is incredibly shoddy, zero care was put into it, half of the mechanics do not work, the modelling and texturing are atrocious, not allowing the players to play it after they have bought it; this company's actions are INEXCUSABLE! A Triple-A Studio should do better than this.    … Expand

    As a long time GTA fan (since GTA 1 & 2 on Windows 2000 haha) I’ve never been more disappointed on this Trilogy release. How do you create more bugs than what was in the original games? How do you attack modders, when they seem more competent fixing your games than your paid developers do. It’s crazy to watch Rockstar become corporatized to the point they ruin their own classics.

    Low effort remaster. GTA: SA holds up because it was made in 2004 and was such a great game, but in some ways the remaster has made it worse especially the mistakes with the weather and draw distance.

    Rockstar dropped the ball on this remaster. The cars and other moving models look like plastic toys and the cities look like polished excrement. The contrast between the environment and the models is horrible and the list of bugs is long and obnoxious. Quality of life changes are the only redeeming part of this remaster that does no favours for fans or newcomers. Skip it until they either fix it or let the moders do their job.

    I cannot currently recommend Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition on the PC, and a lot has to happen until I do. The truth is that I've had a decent amount of fun with this remaster; part of it is based on nostalgia, and part of it is based on some ridiculous, unavoidable bugs that weren't as frequent as I'd feared. Given all of these issues and the abysmal performance of the three games on the PC, I'd stay away from the trilogy until several major updates have been released. Even then, this remaster may not be for everyone.

    Overall, Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition was set up to be one of the best things for GTA fans and it failed to hit that mark. It will now be remembered as a failure to launch title but I am sure Rockstar will step in and continue to fix some items within their game world.
