    До самого конца надеялся, что это такой большой рофл, от такого именитого бренда (ну знаете, типа черный пиар тоже приносит свои плоды), да и в целом, они могли-бы себе такое позволить, показав тем самым, что могут "как угодно" игровую индустрию.

    A very poor remake that only really really changes the graphics by using AI to upscale everything. All of the previous bugs and issues built into these games are still here and the graphics may actually be worse in some areas as characters look like deformed monsters due to the upscale.

    If you played the originals and still have them then go play that instead.     This remaster is really bad. We got a lot of bugs, problems with animations, lighting and gameplay. In addition, more than 40 tracks have been removed from radio stations and many moments have been censored. Bravo, Rockstar, remove this shame from your stores and bring back the original games!

    The map, vegetation and textures are fine, but the rest of the game is a complete disgrace. The characters are horrible and are completely uncharacterized, lost the essence of the game and are clearly poorly made.     Id like to preface that I only played San-Andreas so far. I got about 7-8 hours in.

    This was a great opportunity to make these games "friendlier" and without stupid design decisions. Spent 20k dollars on weapons, grenades and car upgrades? Well once you die/get arrested, you can say bye to all of that. Parked a car before a cut-scene? Well say bye to that too. Left a car one street    Id like to preface that I only played San-Andreas so far. I got about 7-8 hours in.

    Seriously, there is so many issues with these games that people just overlooked because they were revolutionary for their times. In new or remastered games you at least expect some nice quality of life features.
    So the car upgrades are still useless because you're gonna lose your car before the mission.
    In some spots you can clearly see AI upscaled textures that look like impressionist paintings.

    Some of the improvements are not really improvements at all, when you buy new clothes in san andreas you get sort of a really bad preview of the item, like badly drawn shirts and shoes that don't show anything how the item actually looks. For example a green shoe is drawn like a white shoe.

    Not to mention the clipping of your clothes trough your character like chains and watches and hats.
    Just lots of bad things left over that was not fixed, certainly not a "definite" edition. More like lazy, lets use an AI from github that will upscale all the textures, draw a few of our own textures and thats it.

    Another "improvement" is glow around enemies, which is basically like some sort of hunter vision in other games, very ugly and immersion breaking.
    Some things got worse, the lifting minigame in the gym is pretty much broken and not a challenge at all.
    With the weakest CJ , you can lift the heaviest weights by just mashing e.

    Controls are bad and mouse support is pretty much non existent in the menus.
    This is a game where by default "T" key is cancel/go back operation in menus.
    What? I have a feeling the devs didn't play their game.

    I was playing on a rx480 and ryzen 3600 and the game ran at around 60fps at high. Not great for a game that looks like this. For example battlefield 4 I run at 144fps at high.

    Very disappointing, don't waste your money. I am giving 1/10 because now at least you can instantly restart a failed mission.    … Expand

    for $ 60 we get u: ugly character textures, old, albeit like, new shooting, old physics and minimal differences. The only plus is the interior, only it is beautiful

    I created an account on Metacritic just so I could post this review. GTA Trilogy is shocking. I never ever leave reviews even for bad games but this is just heart breaking. Please please please bin this product bring back the old games as this is just awful

    This is not barely worth 60 bucks. Its simply a cashgrab on Nostalgia. Worst GTA Remaster possible.
    Give me back the times when devs loved developing their games instead of making **** like this.

    90% of the community mods that were made for the original GTAs are better than this. But cause Rockstar is realizing that modders do better work than their subpar **** they need to Sue them :D

The mindset has changed a lot and the result can be seen today in GTA: The Trilogy: Definitive Edition. The goal of this remaster was to bring the classic titles to modern consoles and allow new players to enjoy the game as we did 20 years ago. But only in theory. What you get is actually not what you would expect from a GTA game, but the complete opposite. The graphics of the game seem new and beautiful for the first few minutes, but then you realize that the game hasn't been maintained at all. It's like "let's use Unreal because it has nice graphics, and just slap it on GTA III/VC/San Andreas" that's it. Sure, you can't just use a completely different engine, that requires some work.. Right? No, that's excatly how it looks like. All 3 games have the same bugs that you'd find in the original version of GTA. The remaster also introduced a lot of new bugs that just ruin the gameplay. The controls are really weird (especially in VC where it feels like you're playing the game on Stadia, Nvidia NOW, etc, but with a really bad internet connection). Some of the new textures are simply taken from GTA V, you can now see billboards with GTA: Online characters on them. A widescreen TV from the mid-2000s can now be found in GTA VC in Diaz mansion (the game is set in 1986).

    And much more. That's just the tip of the iceberg, there's a lot more to tell, but I think most of it can easily be found on social media.

    Would I recommend anyone to buy this game? No! If you really want to enjoy classic GTAs: find a PS2 and a copy of GTA Trilogy and enjoy the real masterpiece that R* created back in the good old days.    … Expand

    Missions often break, and often break when you restart the mission (new system).
    Music that is taken out.
    FPS drops from having great FPS to below 30,

    And the rain, oh...my...god... the rain.
    It is a small square texture/shader that has a VERY noticeable pattern that is repeated into infinity. It makes me physically ill. I get nauseous and get a headache from the effect. There is too much particles/texture, way too bright and you can't even look past it properly.
    The rain also doesn't overlay on water so if you look at water and land you see no rain effect on the water, except some reflections making rain go down above the water and upwards on the water.

    This game is a complete mess, And after a few hours the Rockstar Launcher shutdown, no way to play an offline singleplayer game because of this, and now they just deleted it from my library and I have no way to play anymore. Here's hoping for a refund.

    After 10 years on metacritic this is my first 0. How dare you pull a offline game off our game libary! I asked a refund and if they wont give it i'll contact my creditcard company for sure!

    I didn't care much how the game play i was happy that they use a ne engine and rebuild it from 0. But now it's impossible to even start the game.

    I paid $60 for a game two days ago that I still haven't been given. Thankfully the last two days have given me the opportunity to see that these ports are garbage. I've requested a refund based on the gameplay footage I've seen. You would think they would of taken more care to preserve the legacy of their three best releases.

    Bring back Rockstar circa 2004.

    Imagine introducing new bugs, horrible rain that makes it unplayable, and removing most memorable songs like Billie Jean and calling it "Definitive edition" xD

    Oh and also suing modders, and removing the original game from the store so that nobody can buy the good version anymore...

    It's unreal how greedy these video game companies have become... Asking $60 for this is a joke...

    Our expectations were low but holy f*ck. This is wrong on so many levels but knowing Rockstar no issue will be resolved. Imagine having trouble hitting 60 fps in a 20 years old game.

The lighting is terrible, when its dark or when you're in a car you can't see a thing, the characters models are terrible, way worse than the PS2/Xbox versions, a lot of classic and iconic songs were removed, bugs and glitches everywhere, terrible perfomance and optimization, some features were also removed and they changed unnecessarily some places that nobodyReally disappointed here.     I was hoping the game will be well made... Oh buy how wrong I was.

    Characters look like cartoon sh from 2001.
    Textures are either missing, look prolly made or are flickering.
    They've removed over 20 songs from radio stations...

    And now they've even took the game down, we can't play what we paid for.

    Rockstar dropped the ball on this remaster. The cars and other moving models look like plastic toys and the cities look like polished excrement. The contrast between the environment and the models is horrible and the list of bugs is long and obnoxious. Quality of life changes are the only redeeming part of this remaster that does no favours for fans or newcomers. Skip it until they either fix it or let the moders do their job.

    I cannot currently recommend Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition on the PC, and a lot has to happen until I do. The truth is that I've had a decent amount of fun with this remaster; part of it is based on nostalgia, and part of it is based on some ridiculous, unavoidable bugs that weren't as frequent as I'd feared. Given all of these issues and the abysmal performance of the three games on the PC, I'd stay away from the trilogy until several major updates have been released. Even then, this remaster may not be for everyone.

    Overall, Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition was set up to be one of the best things for GTA fans and it failed to hit that mark. It will now be remembered as a failure to launch title but I am sure Rockstar will step in and continue to fix some items within their game world.
