Yes, it's disappointing that PC gamers don't get the new Ignite engine, but it's still a fantastic and improved simulation, becoming more and more realistic.

It also has unparalleled variety for a sports game. There are just so many different ways to consume it.

I’m not sure there is enough extra content to warrant a purchase from FIFA 13 unless you’re a diehard fan and want the up to date player lists, but if it’s been a couple of years since you’ve looked at a FIFA title, then there is no reason why you shouldn’t be getting FIFA 14.

FIFA 14 has the same old problems as previous incarnations, but it remains the same great football game. [Dec 2013, p.84]

FIFA 14 is a mature, well designed game without spectacular innovations. The new shooting system or a bigger influence of the Fist Touch Control system are interesting conveniences, and transfer improvements or novelties in the FIFA Ultimate Team mode are most welcome. FIFA 14 continues ideas introduced in the previous installments - sometimes stability is better than bragging about a revolution (that never came).

FIFA 14 is the reassuring central-defensive midfielder of the series. Dependable, rather than revelatory. Physical, tenacious and tight on space. It does the job without fuss, but also lacks flair.

Okay, so this game deserves a review, since I've never wrote one before. Really, the User Score (but hey, It's Metacritic, so whatever) isOkay, so this game deserves a review, since I've never wrote one before. Really, the User Score (but hey, It's Metacritic, so whatever) is really not fair. This year its by far the best current-gen FIFA ever made. The people that are about the poor gameplay, are the ones who always "turned and sprinted" their way through FIFA 13. This year it's slow pace is FIFAs best feature, there really isn't a perfect play that always works and that is awesome, there is much more to a match than ever before. Well, the Career Mode isn't that great, but it never was (although the scouting system is pretty neat) but who buys FIFA wor the Singleplayer? The Multiplayer part is really great, Pro Club is much more challenging than last year, which makes it kind of frustrating too. But for me the real star of this game is the 2 Player Coop Season. With a good mate you can have fun for hours straight, and even if you're in the first division there is always the spur to make it to the top of the leaderboards. Finally competitive 2vs2 in FIFA. Bravo EA, thats something I've never said about that company before.

I also kinda dig the new menus, the soundtrack and the atmosphere (just listen to the stadium anouncers!

Why not 10? Because they weren't able to give us the "Ignite Engine" on the PC, but well that isn't a cause to give it a really low rating. I'm mostly a PC player, but god damn stop the "PC MASTERRACE!!"

Expand

Wow what can i say about this game other than it is straight garbage. It is one of the worst sports games i have ever played. The passing andWow what can i say about this game other than it is straight garbage. It is one of the worst sports games i have ever played. The passing and defensive bugs in this game make it completely unplayable. For example Not letting you switch to certain players, hardly ever passing to the right player, when you finally, by some sort of miracle, pass to the right player the computer decides you didn't want to be that player and makes you the guy next to him, when on defense they hardly ever switch you to the player desired and who ever you do switch to likes to either freeze in place for a moment or continue running in the direction he was running regardless of what i want him to do(I've tried to change the settings for this but that somehow makes, at times, switching players somewhat impossible as it will never select the man i want to be no matter how many times i hit LB). I have tried every remedy for this passing situation, I've tried putting all passing settings on manual, on assisted on semi assisted and they all have different flaws that make passing the ball the most frustrating thing in sports game history. It is straight up impossible to ever accomplish what you see on the field and makes you want to throw your controller straight threw your monitor. Because of this the only way to score in this game is to get it to the corners and cross it, or from corner kicks which makes for the dullest version of soccer i have ever been a part of. Zero excitement and strictly header goals, which don't even make you feel good.

Other things that make this game terrible are the difficulty level settings, on professional i can school the computer 6-0(and i enjoyed scoring zero of those six goals) but on world class forget about it i can't even get a touch in. So there is no decent level of competition for me against the computer and i like to play manager mode. Which brings me to manager mode. Thank you very much for completely destroying it EA. The new scouting system is a complete waste of time. It can not find a player worthy of the first team and if you select anymore than 3-4 criteria it will find no one(5 star scouts). it is just completely broken and does not work and EA does nothing to fix it. I also have a huge issue with simulating games, I ideally like to play every game but sometimes you just want to get to the next game if its a huge game or something. When simulating my team hardly ever wins even if it is a lower division team ill pull off a 2-1 nail bitter. It just seems completely biased in the opponents favor all of the time rather than being a true simulation.

The only reason that this game gets 2 points is for the be a pro mode which isn't straight trash juice but rather lose garbage on the top of the pile. Don't get me wrong its still garbage but its the best of the garbage. Not all the switching player bugs are present because you are locked into one player sooo its got that going for it but aside from that players are constantly avoiding the ball thinking i mam passing to someone else and just buggy AI really bog it down. But it is not nearly as bad as the vs mode.

This is my first review and one of the first games that has made me so angry that i had to go tell the internet to beware of it. Please do yourself a massive favor and save yourself hours of frustration and avoid this game at all costs. Your heart and brain will thank you. That is all and again please please please don't support EA and this garbage title and never ever ever purchase this game. If you want a soccer game please go with FIFA 13 or a non EA title.
