I do not have anything negative to say about repetitive quests. I think this talk about frequently mentioned stuff is enough. Expand

You can play it singelplayer if you want but if you play it multiplayer it only gets better.
Only thing they need to do now is remove the overpowerd legacy weapons so new players have a chans to do any damage on a boss before its dead.

But if you are new and like Skyrim/Fallout3/4 then try it. it is good now.

Yes, this game does have microtransaction, but so does Fallout 4 creation club, and it's just optional. No point to complain about having nice and cool cosmetic stuffs from atomic shop. Atomic stuffs are carried over on each new characters on the same account are the pro. When I see all the negative reviews are laughable to me. It's a blast to play - the amount of content, world complexity and general fun coming from this game honestly cannot be compared to no other vidya. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone who liked the franchise till now, but was on the fence due to the negativity campaign towards this product. It's a quality game with amazing community.

That's a great game. Slow exploration of the huge world, history of Fallout's world on the terminal among empty, left buildings with a ton of danger. After 2 years from release it's great game. IMHO, this is a giant new Fallout game in which I have forfeited VATS for the opportunity to finally play Fallout with friends.

I'm loving it. I know people had tons of expectations for it, and that there's been a massive bandwagon against it, but whatever -- I'm having a blast playing it, and that's what matters in the end. Comparisons to Rust abound, but I prefer FO:76 vastly.

It's not a "skin," it's Fallout, warts and all. Everything I've done so far has felt like FO4, which I realize some people don't like, but that's their prerogative.

Personally, I find it incredibly fun. That's all that matters with a game.

The game is buggy, but it's not bad at all, it's not broken. It's incredibly fun, runs great, and is secure.

This game is Fall Out Survival game at its best. Its not going to be for everyone. Judge it for yourself. I enjoy the simplicity of this game. Go out and gather food, and water. Gather materials to build and repair weapons. Grap a world quest or two and simply explore.

The world itself is the story. You get to see what peoples lives where and how ware destroyed it. This game isn't like so many where the the plot holds your hand like WOW, or FFXIV where a fully cinematic video tells you what happened. You are part of the story and creating your legacy is what this game is about.

Fallout 76 is far "prettier" than Fallout 3, Fallout 4, and New Vegas because the color palette isn't limited to mud, ochre, and grays. It is also a different game from earlier Fallouts due to how leveling and perks work. Oh, and also, the occasional non-violent other Player Characters I run into (not a single one has been aggressive to me) that's different as well. The other big "raise the stakes" difference is: no time slowdown and no save files.

Given those differences, it does still have a similar look and feel to its predecessors.

My "first impressions" review score is an 8.5.

I can't wait for the weekend so I can really get stuck in.

Now I´m really enjoying myself; playing solo or with my wife in co-op. The atmosphere is fantastic, the quests fun and it´s enjoyable to snipe your enemies from afar using your sniper rifle or getting in close and personal with the machete.
Sure, the game still have some flaws (the stash is much too small, too much limit building your BASE, lack of written chat), but Bethesda has been listening to the players and has promised to fix these things in upcoming patches.
The game is slowburn, RPG filled with lore and atmosphere. Do not listen to all the bad reviews; once you adjust to 76 mechanisms, it´s really lots of fun.

And the fact the game has been **** on as much as it has, says more about the current state of the game industry than how good or bad Fallout 76 actually is. We are ignoring how much this game has to offer in exploration and immersion because of glitches, poor performance and janky gameplay.

But what if we had a game the exact opposite, no immersion, no exploration, no soul but utterly perfect performance, smooth gameplay and zero glitches? It would be rated extremely highly (see DOOM, HL:Alyx, Outer Worlds, et al.) This is a problem because we as gamers are saying we are incapable of putting up with a few engine problems and want utterly seamless experiences even if they are are empty and devoid of soul or creativity. We are saying we prefer a polished turd to a rough diamond. And that says more about our puerility as gamers than the gaming industry itself. We are the problem because they can only sell us what we are buying.

People prefer lack of friction over elevating gaming experiences because of a few small problems. Instead of putting up with a few issues to experience something that will inevitably fill us with a feeling of elevation, we want totally sterile, clinical games that more or less turn our brains to mush.

If people boycott the only even slightly good game that has been made in years because of engine problems and are now retro-actively ****ting on all of Bethesda's previous games as if 'Oh I never really liked those games anyway' then the future of gaming is very grim, and that's why I am rating game 9/10 because Bethesda to me is the only big game developer left still capable of making games full of any semblance of soul. And the day Bethesda stops making games is the day AAA gaming dies.

What Fallout 76 is suffering from is not a gameplay problem, but an entitled gamer problem.

Gamers can't seem to handle the fact that a) they're not the Main Character and b) they have to read and listen to holotapes and notes to get the lore rather than have an NPC shovel it to them. Bethesda is amazing at writing lore, and Fallout 76 shines there IF you actually stop to appreciate it.

Todd and Pete never promised us anything in this game other than what was delivered. They didn't promise a new engine or new graphics, etc. What they told us we'd get is Fallout with friends. That's what they delivered. Gamers need to stop expecting every title to be revolutionary. Gamers need to learn to accept games that are just simply Good.

If anyone out there is disappointed in this game, it's solely because they were expecting something that was never promised to them by the developers. That's on them. Not Bethesda.

The game is, in my experience, focused around sniffing around ruined buildings, looting junk, building bases, taking pictures, and killing enemies. While I can understand there is usually more than that (like lore, story and meaningful choices) in a usual Fallout game (and there is, but it is not the strong point of this opus), I often found that the part I ended up doing and enjoying the most in Fallout games are exactly what I mentioned Fallout 76 was about, so, it hit my right switches.

There was also the focus around taking pictures which I found was silly, but again, I was surprised. You may not get out of a place with much loot or experience but you mostly always do with memories and having pictures of it is really nice to remember what you have been trough. I must be honest that at times, It felt more like being a tourist in a strange country than a survival game since it is not that dangerous when grouped, and I loved it.

The only issues I've seen from other reviews are pretty much things that don't exist, like lack of content, no story, or lore. The only way you could miss any of this is if you're in a group and don't want to take the time to read or listen to the holotapes. But I definitely suggest getting this game, It would have been a 10 rating wise if they wouldn't have put that stash limit in cause that waste time having to organize every trip. Expand

I waited at least 50 hours played before submitting a review, something that a lot of negative reviews didn't do, fallout 76 is a game that or you love it or you hate it. Personally i love it, exploration and survival are fantastic, the lore also. However, Fallout76 has also a lot of problems, like every bethesda game, but it's potential is infinite.

It is basically more Fallout with multiplayer added on, very much the same as the previous games. It is still good and you can spend many hours playing it though there really is not a lot new here.

The negative press I think is unfair and is due to people expecting a lot more than was delivered on release though numerous updates and patches are on the way and it does look to become possibly the best Fallout in future.

But here I will give my opinion on gameplay, immersion and general thoughts.

I have of course seen the YouTube videos, like "The Fall of 76", which more deals with the aspects outside the actual game, and the videos going through the bugs and so forth. But here I will give my opinion on gameplay, immersion and general thoughts.

I preordered the game, tried the BETA (which left me confused), and then played it the day it came out (more or less, think I was on a bender so it might have been a few days after). I think my expectations were still aligned towards something like Fallout 4, even though I knew the difference, and I dropped it and left it until last week.

I decided to go into it with a clear mind, and just take it as it is. I love the lore and love the world. Although I have not played 1 and 2 (was more of a Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale guy back then, and don't enjoy pure turn-based combat), I have enjoyed 3, NV and 4 many, many times.

And I like it. I like it a lot.

There are issues, of course. There is a fast-travel point with a Snappycaster that does not move, my Daily events seem to be 0/5 all the time no matter how many I do, Blueprints budget is small (this was a missunderstanding of my part though, I don't dare to move my nice house), it is easy to step into events right at the end, and reap the benefits. And of course the normal Bethesda **** in terms of bugs.

That aside, the environment is so nice to roam. Especially the forest areas. The quests are not as repeatable as a thought. I have only played a bit if WoW around 2006 and SWTOR around 2012 so I am not an expert on these kind of games though.

Crafting system is right up my alley. Slowly building your base, collecting plans, scavenging and taking over Gorge junkyard now and then (hey, only level 21 so far).

I hated the C.A.M.P. system at first before I got the hang of it. Now I know that I need to keep building size down to blueprint properly, and looking forward to creating my new camp in a more village-like style. A crafting barn, living quarters, scavenging equipment and so on. However, for now I live at Morgantown Station.

The Perk-system. I had some trouble in the beginning, but catched up, finally got Gun-nut to five stars yesterday so my guns do not break ALL THE TIME!!! Also, I have created sort of a plan for level up for the next 25 levels or so, did it kind of randomly before.

Yesterday was also the first time I played with a friend. We talked over TeamSpeak and I helped him out through his first levels. Very nice indeed. He built a small base close to mine and we had a good time overall.

So, when I put aside any dreams of Fallout 5 or whatever I really wanted, and see this as part of the lore and the Fallout world and as an individual game that tries something new I am very happy I gave it another chance.

Perk cards, weapon types, legendary effects on weapons and armor, mutations, stealth, food buffs, chems, ammo type all have a massive effect on how your character will play. Understanding damage mitigation for fire, radiation, explosions, energy weapons and ballistic weapons also play a role. Different enemies have different mitigations as do your character depending on how you configure it. On top of that, you need to understand how PvP rules work if you wish to engage in it. I spent most my time in FO4 building settlements and in 76 i get to share it with my friends!

There is a story, but its not handed in a medium you're used to (NPCs). You discover the story through holotapes, terminals, notes that people before you have left and it really gives a sense a post apocalyptic to the game. It's a new type of storytelling for sure.

I've put in about 15 hours now, and I can safely say that this game is fun. It feels like Fallout, but is not the same experience. Why on earth you would expect the exact same experience from a multiplayer game is beyond me. The people I met have been great as well, the multiplayer blends really nicely into the single-player feel. Nobody's rushing to claim the best drops or grind to the highest levels just to be better than everyone else. The game plays at a comfortable pace just like a single-player game, except now you can enjoy it with friends if you want.

The game performance is good, considering I'm running on a GTX 750Ti. VATS feels good, albeit very different, and does wonders for those who can't achieve a fluid experience due to lower end PCs. The only issues I ran into were a couple minor disconnects, which I'm sure can be blamed on launch day overload. I can't speak for the graphics, but given my setup, it looks nice enough not to hinder my experience.

I actually really like the lack of human NPCs. With all the quests being through holotapes and robots, I can focus on what I actually enjoy, shooting and exploring, without missing out on the stories.

The base-building is way more enjoyable than Fallout 4 for me because it not only feels more valuable, but I get to share what I build with my friends. I played all the way through Fallout 4 without bothering with the settlement system (for the most part) because it felt like it didn't quite fit with the game. Bases in Fallout 76 fit well and feel important.

There is so much to do, and I feel like I haven't even scratched the surface after 15 hours. Whoever says this game doesn't have content is lying through their teeth. The map is huge and packed with quests and interesting locations. Regular event quests encourage interaction with other players and keep things fresh even in locations you've already combed over.

At no point have I felt pressured to make any micro-transactions. I'm earning the premium currency at a decent rate as well, and expect to be able to buy whichever thing I want from the shop by the end of the week. It feels extra, like it should. Not like they took something essential out of the game just to make a shop.

If you liked the gameplay of Fallout 4 and would enjoy that experience with friends, you'll also enjoy this game. It's not perfect, but don't let the emotional "It's not New Vegas/Rust" reviews ruin the opportunity you have to enjoy a unique and well-made game.

The world feels empty and alive at the same time : the post-apocalyptic vibe is here but stories are here and there, monsters (now more various thanks to a better bestiary) blend nicely with their environment. Haven't visited all the regions (3/5), but they are really distinctive and well designed, with their own theme. The weather effects are nice, but aren't visually impactful enough (had a radstorm that lasted 5 minutes).
Then comes the story, which is linked to the "no human NPC"-thing(/drama). And it's good. It bring this "thing" in the post-apocalyptic vibe. Quests/stories are different, sure, but "they work", Moreover, it makes the few NPC you meet, or holotapes you read, important. You're happy to see or hear someone. You want to know them, you -want to- care more for them.
Sure, it take away the impact you have, and for that, it's not perfect. There are some other "problem", like the stash/carry limitation, but they're not so much of problem, than a way of playing (don't hoard everything. Choose what to take and what to keep. Choose which weapon you use and which you can't. It's part of the survival aspect of the game.

Overall, it's a good game. Didn't had any real bug, nor problem, though some people might really have. It's something different, something not everyone might enjoy. But it does not deserve the hate it receives. I've played more than 24h, and I really enjoyed every bit of it.

You have to think, react and plan a bit to survive. The hunger, thirst, and radiation system keeps you on your toes and keeps you considering your actions beyond running and shooting. First, Anyone that votes 0 has ether not played the game or only played it for a few minutes. Don't count those votes as they haven't even put enough time into the game to even judge it.

I've played this game for about 250 hours now over the course of several weeks. My opinions are outlined below.
This game is a beast. There are tons and tons of activities to do in the game. There are hundreds of quests and even more hidden areas. There is a plethora of lore to be learned and the map is simply astonishing. There are several unique regions in the map that have different creatures and enemies. There is building, farming, and exploring. With the new leveling system, you can change the perks you want to use at any time within the same tree.

Down to business. The combat. Since the game is primarily online, the VATS system is kinda different. There is a slow degradation on your AP while it's in use and there is no slow time. This makes the VATS system a little different from previous games while still keeping it useful.
Combat is limited to 2 types, ranged or melee, with trees in each category. While some may want to use a melee build, there is one enemy in game that will annoy you to no end because you become helpless, which is the Scorch Beasts. These nasty creatures fly high in the sky, similar to the dragons in Skyrim. Without a way to ground the beast, a melee character is essentially target practice for the flying balls of death. For this reason, I recommend picking a ranged character.

For perks, the way it works is each level in a tree, ex; Strength, will give you one more point to spend on cards (perks) each card has a point cost associated with it and can be 'equipped'. If you have level 10 Strength you get 10 points to either spend on 10 cards that cost one or any combination of leveled cards equalling 10. I like this system as it lets me invest into lockpicking but I don't have to keep it active when I'm not picking a lock.

For building, you can place a house almost anywhere. You set down a camp and hop to it. You have a camp budget and turrets take a LOT of it. If you want a nice home, build it in an area you won't need turrets to defend it. There are mining sites all across the map that let you build machines to gather resources for you passively. They need to be emptied regularly as there is a limit to how much stuff they can hold. Building a home is fairly easy but outfitting it with all the trinkets you want is harder as most of the placeable items are locked and need plans.

For weapons and armor, the armor in this game has levels. So pick a version you like, and stick with the one. If you want more physical damage reduction compared to energy, then pick something that caters to your class. No one armor is better than another, it just depends on what you like.
For power armor, this can be argued as better. But you lose access to fist weapons and you have to carry heavy power cores.
For weapons, you need to scrap them to get attachment plans. See tons of shotguns? Scrap em. ballistic weapons are currently the go to at the moment but don't let this stop you from hitting robots with a weapon their weak against. (energy)

If you come to a point where you can't put any more items into your stash, you're hoarding too much. Stop it. This isn't Fallout 4. Keep at most 4 weapons, a pile of ammo, and 100 scrap/bulk of each type. If you're running a shotgun class you don't need 3 Fat Mans in your stash. Pro tip, Mini nukes and missiles weigh a lot. If you aren't planning on using them when you pick them up, don't put them in your stash. Same with grenades. USE THOSE EXPLOSIVES.

I really enjoy this game and having the chance to play it with friends is really nice. If there was one thing I could change about the game, I'd add a Dragon Rend to make those Scorch Beasts land on the ground. It's unfair to melee characters.

The one that sticks in my mind the most, is one of them LOVES GTA V, and has been playing RDR2 nearly nonstop, going on and on about it. He said that F76 was smoother, more fluid, and the combat was WAY more exciting, than either of the Rockstar games. He also just finished AC: Odyssey, and not surprisingly said AC put F76 to shame.

Based on all of their comments, there is no way I could give less than an 8/10, but not giving it more than 9. There are still bugs and glitches, and some things that need improved or tweaked. But, in no way could this deserve less than a 7, even for the most hated perspective, because it is a sound game, and a good first foray into MP territory.

Think of it as this:

When did you ever really spend time playing with human NPCs before?
The few moments you were ever in a town? Heck there is almost every enemy from previous games in this game as all other Fallouts before with new ones included.
The previous games of Fallout were built around holotapes that led to more information in a quest to more holotapes.
I don't understand why people say this is a bad thing when this has always been a thing before?
When you hear distant gunfire, that is most likely real players fighting a real battle. Most of my time exploring in previous games were always dull.
Now I end up finding some player's shack, use their workbenches and get into a conversation with them on where to find some Radstag meat for a quest I was doing. Wow.

This game is truly something else. I don't get the hate because once you look past it (besides the faction PvP, remove that crap and just make everyone PvP ready) this game is great.

Don't let other people get in your head, it will make you see the sparse ugly in this beautiful game. Thank you Bethesda~

Every single location my buds and I have visited so far has had an interesting story to tell. Emotional holo-tapes (some several minutes long), notes, hand-written journals, terminal logs, and sentient robots all shed light on what life was like for past, pre-war inhabitants. Many times, their grim stories will even kick off a variety of small quests. It's a far cry from other survival games like Rust, Conan Exiles, DayZ, and Ark Survival that don't even HAVE quests, let alone much backstory. From what I've seen of the survival genre, the sole fact that FO76 is NOT Early Access already has me hooked.

Overall, aside from a few graphical bugs I've encountered, I've had a ton of fun surviving, exploring, fighting different enemies, building my own mini-base, and uncovering crazy secrets on the map. Even though it's not your traditional single-player Fallout RPG, the amount of content and systems at play in FO76 is staggering for an online survival MMO and can keep you and your friends occupied for weeks. If you're into PvE and Roleplay the West Virginia hills are vast and filled with NPC monsters for hunting and looting. If you're into PvP, there are always good bounties waiting on Hunter/Hunted Station radio.

Some sage advice from an old arcade player, if you're ever not sure whether a modern game is worth it's full price, rate it at $1 an hour. If you can get 60 hours of game-play from a $60 retail game, it's well worth it in my old-school, coin-operated book.

The world has been created with so much love and detail, that I've had moments where I got goosebumps when I realized what happened with the citizens a long time ago. These stories are usually told by holotapes or terminals or also by letters. But the strongest tool Bethesda used was the world itself which often tells the deepest and most touching stories only by showing what's left of the people formerly living here and leaving the player to his own imagination.
This creates an immerse atmosphere I've only experienced in other Fallout games before but never at this level. I can't tell what's better, getting a deep dive into lone wolf explorers lifestyle or teaming up with the group I'm often playing with. It mostly depends on the mood I'm in because naturally the time I spend with actually studying and listening to the games lore is less when I'm playing in a group. The thing is: I really can't decide. It's hard to turn down an invitation of your friends. Coop is a blast in this game! But with the indirect story telling you can't be 100% focused on all the details with 3 friends talking in discord. Nevertheless, I absolutely support the decision of not having human NPCs in this game because it contributes so much to what makes this game so good!

Performance-wise I can't complain. The games looks good. Great for the Creative engine but only good for 2018. But it runs smoothly on 3440x1440 maxed out on my machine and the XBOX game-pad makes it feel like home, because I played all bethesda games that way. To be fair I have to say: it isn't necessary to use the Creative engine again in 2018 - at least not in this state with the same flaws since Morrorwind. I mean, mouse and keyboard controls feel clunky and not thought through and there are still bugs which have to be known because they are in the game since Fallout 4. But these critics weigh so less compared, because the game represents what Bethesda's good at and why we love their games. I mean, I can't give 10/10. The game isn't perfect but it surely is 90%!

I didn't feel like it was that hard to deal with either. There is more disease/sickness, i got parasites when i ate an uncooked radtoad egg, but found a cure disease bottle that cleared it up.
The online feature is not intrusive, and I only came across a few players. You get a sense right now that all the vault dwellers are working together. I had no run-ins with violent PVP yet, as i'm still only level 6 and PVP doesn't start until level 5.
I played with a friend and it was easy to join each others game and find each other.
The graphics are great and more colorful this time, all the new enemies look good and move fluid. The sounds though are amazing, and since you will probably wear a headset to talk, it's very immersive. When you are next to the water you will hear all the insects, or if you are standing in the forest you will hear the wind blowing through the trees.
The music has some new songs mixed in with old. I was weary when i heard beach boys wouldn't it be nice but it was followed by that hack em wack em song.
The leveling seems cool too with being able to equip different perk cards, I like this better than FO4's wall of perks.
VATS is cool and I don't miss the time-slowing.
The exploration is amazing though and i didn't even want to setup a camp yet because i just kept moving. If you are already a Fallout fan get ready to finally explore with your friends!

If I have one complaint so far the trading takes some getting used to and i think it could be quicker.
I drop traded with a friend to get around that. I might just need to get used to the system so that it goes quicker.

The game really shines when played with friends. Can't wait for private servers and mods but in the meantime it's just a ton of fun to explore the fallout world with a buddy or two. But when friends aren't online it's a good time take in all the story details included in the environment and build up your base a little so you can show it off when the log on.

If you're a long time Fallout fan, prepare to miss the colorful (and killable) NPCs. Points are deducted for not coming up a better solution than simply having them all be long-dead. However, some of those points are returned for the intrigue of sharing the world with other living players which can add real tension. It turns out tracking a bounty (a player who has invited pvp upon themselves by killing someone who did not fight back) across the scorched landscape with a sniper rifle can be quite exhilarating.

I'm a longtime fan of the franchise. I've played all of them except Brotherhood, and I started with them as a child. I've liked every one. I do enjoy 76 so far, but for slightly different reasons than the last games.

So far, Fallout games have been about exploration, marked and unmarked locations to discover and explore, a story to experience as you go through the world, side quests that usually have some humor or a bit of information about the larger world to add to our understanding of the setting. Well, 76 does have all of these things. 76 manages to do a lot of these things that we expect from a Fallout title. The thing it does not do, that (most) of the previous titles did have, is player choice in the narrative, and NPC interactions.

The difference between this and previous games is that all of the NPC's we would normally talk with, died shortly before the player shows up. We find the remains of battles and we find their bodies and such. The plot is discovering why and how, so we won't go into that, but the point is that the normal NPC interaction that people are used to in these games is missing. We do most of the lore discovery, and most of the storytelling, is done through notes and terminals and holotape recordings. Which is fine for learning about the world, and it's adequate for telling us information, and there have already been a few holotapes that were dramatic and conveyed emotion to me, but I understand the criticism that many people have. It's adequate for conveying storytelling, but it's not that interaction that people are used to. They want to talk to people. It's a bit unfortunate that a lot of the other reviews are very hard on the game and this seems to be the most common reason. Bethesda said from the start that they want to roll with the idea that every human you come across is another actual human player. This was the game's pitch, it's what made it unique. Someone at the company had this idea and they rolled with it. This was clear from the start, so a lot of these reviews that seem to be disappointed by the lack of NPC's is a bit perplexing.

It's also worth noting, on the lack of NPC issue, that there is more voice acting and recorded dialogue for this game than every other game combined. Look it up on google, it's a fact. So it's not that there just isn't any voice acting or things to learn from people. It's just that the people are all dead, and leaving their diaries for the player to discover. It's not actually all that much different than an NPC going on a longwinded story of his recent events. One of the criticisms of New Vegas is that NPC's will occasionally stand there and go on and on spilling information to the player. It's not that different in cases like this.

The positive aspects about the game are that it has many new enemy types, a map 4 times larger than 4's map, more voice acted recorded dialogue than the previous games, and the sidequests are just as involved as the previous games. The storytelling is done through discovery, so the player is more like an investigator after the fact, rather than in the middle of events, but the tone this sets up is unique and works.

It's missing a couple things though, so I wish I could give it an 8.5 instead of 9. The PC version should allow for DoF adjusting, widescreen support, Push To Talk, rendering distance options, and other quality-of-life options that PC players are used to that scale with the strength of their machine, and aren't uniform like on consoles.

Overall, the game offers many of the things we expect from Bethesda's Fallouts. Marked and unmarked locations to explore, some interesting quests, discovering lore about the setting, etc. It ends up being a very different experience than the other Fallouts, because you are an investigator after the events, but this is just a different tone of game. I've been enjoying it so far, and I understand that it's a very different tone than most other Fallout games. I think at the end of the day, whether you like it or not mostly hinges on whether or not you mind that you're coming by after the events and discovering what happened or if you want to be in the middle of them. This tone is a lot different and might not be for everyone.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. As an avid fallout fan, I can't stop playing this game. I have always wanted a multiplayer fallout.

    Recommended improvements:
Fix the mob glitches where their models are either messed up or they are attacking you and you can't see them.

Add Human NPCs with actual story components.

If you're expecting a fallout game that is deep with story, this isn't the game for you. There are quests in it, however, they are simple quests that have large rewards. Most of the people complaining about the game seemed to expect a whole new fallout story line. Granted it has been 3 years since the last fallout game, but that's still not enough time for a well developed game. Fallout 76 is essentially fallout 4 set in a new environment where you can play with your friends.

It has a few minor bugs and issues, but is fun to play solo and multiplayer. You got a decent story that keeps the world feeling as alive as possible, though at points it can feel a little empty. The world building is as good as ever and I am excited to see what future content Bethesda will release.

    - Tolle und gut vertonte Holobänder, cool, (Inmal finden würde aber reichen, Smile ^^

Hätte noch vieles was man Positives schreiben könnte...

Don't get me wrong there are many things in this game that Bethesda could do with fixing, the odd server crash, quests that you are unable to continue, stash size to name but a few. I've given this game 9/10 because I believe these can all be fixed. What I don't understand is how people can give this game a 1/10. These people are clearly all expecting Fallout 5 or something completely different, which Bethesda have been very open in saying that this is not that. If you are expecting this game to be exactly like it's predecessors then you will be disappointed. Instead what Bethesda have created is a game that is essentially a whole new genre. I expect that a lot of the people leaving bad reviews have built up an idea in their heads as to what the game will be. But I am truly impressed and have played the game for 40+ hours now and can't stop! I feel like I have barely scratched the surface and when Bethesda have said they intend the game to go on forever (with updates etc) I think it is money well spent. A major highlight for me has been using the Speed Demon mutation which increases your movement speed by a large amount whilst running around in suit and top hat beating up other players and various different creatures with a tambourine. Never before have I had so much fun in a fallout game. The random encounters you might have with other players make the game so much more than any previous Bethesda title.
Some of the people refusing to read terminals and notes that reveal the story are truly missing out on how well written this game is, maybe try reading a book or two? (I know it's a video game and you probably don't want to read anything but COME ON!)

In summary, this game does need more than a few fixes and Bethesda could have probably done with holding off on the release until it is properly finished but what Bethesda game hasn't had a buggy release?

P.S please add push to talk!

Great fun with friends. I would not enjoy the game solo, but I'm not playing solo, so I won't dock points for that. I will dock a point for framerate drops, but haven't experienced any bugs yet. So far, though, I'm really enjoying it, other than the fact that enjoying it means getting blasted by people who don't. Look at the "helpful" ratings on all the good or even average reviews.

As it is not a perfect game but is still in the first week of launch it is a great game with a bold push. In my time of playing I have made friends and seen people fighting others for pure survival and fun. It is one of the most fun I've had with friends in a multiplayer. With all of these reviews all of them are posted on the first day of launch and all of them have only seen the trailers or just jumping on the train of hating the game because "It'S NoT fALlOuT" . I think the game is fun with friends and even solo. So those who dont know if they want to buy the game just yet dont listen to the ones that have given it 0's or 1's because all of them are posted on the first or second day of launch and most haven't even played the game. As a big fan of Fallout series I have decided to buy this game as soon as Bethesda announced the title, so I didn´t read any critic or opinion about it.After spending a few hours in it (I´m level 15 right now) I have entered in metacritic to see this low score. 3.0? Really?

I can´t understand it, I´m reading the low score reviews and some of them looks like they didn´t play the same game as me.

    - The multiplayer in game is not the core, is just an extra. I´m playing Fallout 76 as it was Fallout 3 or 4 and enjoying been lost in the map, or explring a ruined mansion.
    - Bugs? Surely it will have, but I didnt find them at the moment, maybe a dragon flying backside?
    - I really love the building system.
    - The public events are funny, this is a good idea taken from games like "The Division", as I said it´s an extra to the game.
    - The music and sounds are, as usual in Bethesda games, wonderful.
    - The microtransactions are only for useless aesthetic crap. So, if you want it is your decision.
    - The only thing I don´t feel comfortable with is the UI, maybe too orientated to console users.

I don´t try to stop the internet hating machine, I just want to avoid you missing this game if you like previous fallout games.

I watched Videos of the Beta and read a lot about the Game before buying it. So i expected a game with Fallout 4 graphics, content, etc. but with multiplayer. I knew before that the game would be without NPC.

Since launch of the Game last week i have been playing until level 28 with my brother which is around 20 hours i think. So far we really enjoy the game. Graphics are as expected the same as Fallout 4 which does not bother me a bit because i like the way it is. I had no graphic glitches or anything so far.
Control and interface are quite intuitive. Of course the VATS has been changed because the slow motion would not be possible in multiplayer games. They way they implemented this feature is ok but I dont use it as often. The new Perk system is also ok because you can switch some cards while you dont need them and vice versa. One thing that bothers me is that you get random cards instead of having a whole selection. The Map is very big and the Places and Towns are interesting to explore.
The Worksop system is very nice. I like that you can claim some sites build a base and get some resources out of it. You have to defend that base from different attacks and other players can reclaim it.
With the CAMP you can build your own camp they way you like. The Stash is a bit too small and it is hard to manage your inventory with all the stuff you collect but as a realistic feature i kind of get it. It doesnt make sense to store tons of material just to make it available everywhere on the map. They implemented features like Food going to waste because they want to make it difficult to stay alive and keep you busy. So you really have to think about what you put in your box and try to manage your resources smart.
Questing in Fallout 76 is similar to the other Fallout games but instead of having a lot of NPCs you get to hear a lot of holo tapes and some Robots. I know that this is one of the biggest issues for a lot of people. But this was announced long before the launch and even without NPCs i find the game quite immersive. And for what i have seen so far, having no Humans in the Game is the Story of Fallout 76. Every one in this area died and you only see a lot of corpses and the people from the Vaults are to reclaim the Area. If i would be playing alone this would bother me more i guess, but since i bought the game to have a multiplayer experience this is fine for me.
The PVP element and how they implemented it is actually quite good. Before launch i was worried about high level players griefing others with power armors all the time. But having the option to fight back or just ignoring an enemy is very good. Its also nice that enemy player get wanted and are visible on the big map. You can hunt them down and get a bounty. I could not think of a better way to implement a PvP in such a game but also protect players who dont want to play this way.

So far i have experienced almost no bugs in the game. No Quest bugs so far. I had 2 game Crashes while saving a blueprint and sometimes i can not see my Teammate after joining the Team. But this is solved easily but rejoining the Team. Maybe i am lucky but for me the Game is very stable.

If you look for a game with the heavy quest system where you can choose between fractions and choose how you play the game (good or evil) and with that choose how your quest line will develope, you should look somewhere else. Play Skyrim, Fallout4 or Fallout NV. Anyway I am not sure how this would work in a multiplayer game. If my brother for example would start killing my quest "giver" and thereby choose a different path, for me the same path would be chosen automaticaly. I can imagine that this way of having 1000 options to play the game would be very hard to implement in a online multiplayer.

I think it is a good thing that they are trying to do something different. It would be a boring world if no one would try to do something in a different way. You can never satisfy everyone and you shouldnt.

(Funny how the people allways flame about the games after buying them "I want my money back" mimimi..... No one forces you to buy them before the game is launched. You can sit back relaxe and wait until the first gameplay videos and reviews arrive. Thats the way i do it. If i know that i will like the game, i will buy it.)

Not ideal game because of bugs and etc. but it stills a fallout game. There is not reasons to hate it. First of all, it's online, and i like this game so much as i like 4th part of game.
One of the best games for 10 years i think.
U should buy it, i promise you, you'll be having a good time sitting at home and playing this gorgeous game.

Fallout 76 represents a big disappointment and the lowest point of the series so far. Riddled with bugs, repetitive and dull gameplay, nonexistent story and outdated graphics, it fails as a both multiplayer and singleplayer experience for fans and newcomers alike.

Miracles do happen once in a while and No Man’s Sky proved that sometimes it is possible to get back on your feet even after a terrible failure. Right now though Fallout 76 is botched spectacularly on so many levels that even talking about this game is a waste of time. [01/2019, p.46]

An unfinished game with bifurcated identity and in an almost dysfunctional state. It's hard to build on a bad base, that will never change. Like the war. [Issue#292]
