    I really tried to like the game. But it is just terrible. Optimization, glitches, bugs, lags, game design. Everything is bad.

    This is the most technically unsound game I have ever seen on pc since I started pc gaming back in 1998. I've never seen a game run so poorly and have so many technical problems. As a result, I will never buy another game made by Bethesda again, no matter what it is. This is so bad that only a week after it came out it you could find keys for $25.     It is mostly unplayable for me because in most areas, including all indoor places, it does something I've never seen before which is that it constantly slows my fps down to about 30-40 for a few seconds then snaps back to 60, like it is trying to constantly fight its way through molasses. My Radeon software shows that what it is doing is constantly dropping my gpu usage down to 0% then back up to 95-100%. It also randomly CTD. It still even crashes every time I exit the game even though they said they fixed it in a patch which they didn't. It has horrible hard-lock lag stutters, constant server problems where it says it is having trouble communicating with the server and locks the controls in place until it recovers. It has a constant high ping. It has countless glitches and bugs during gameplay. Constant server disconnects. They took a copy paste version of the Fallout 4 engine, somehow made it look uglier, and somehow managed to make Fallout 4's combat feel horrible. It feels way more clunky, unresponsive, and just bad.

    They responded to my ticket describing all of my problems with a generic copy paste response and said they weren't planning on doing anything to specifically make the game run any better. They want to bury this one in the dirt and I don't blame them. Hopefully Bethesda has to shut down and sell their games to a real actual game company.    … Expand

    This game takes everything you loved about the Fallout serious, and scraps it. Then it adds on horrific lag, and terrible frame rates (even on a gtx 1080 on medium settings!) making combat an incredibly frustrating experience.

    This game is unfortunately going to become another source of youtube news, fanbois giving it 10s and metabombers giving it 0s without even bothering to explain the reasoning, at least say "this isn't the fallout experience you was looking for sadly". Looks like Fallout, feels like fallout...but isn't fallout if that makes any sense? Its like fallout meets rust meets pubg? If that makes any sense?

    So let me explain a few things, Bethesda constantly lied about certain aspects of this game, this is more PVP than PVE and with a high percentage for griefing, you think the current systems to prevent it is going to stop it? Nahh~ you're going to be shot in the back and every turn, built up a nice base...along comes some jerk with nuclear codes and nukes it.

    If you like PvP and the fallout series then this could be the greatest game for you or the worst experience you've ever had, there are some very dramatic debuffs for 'unconsented' PvP...aka PKing, If you're a strictly PVE player then just don't bother because you'll almost guaranteed to end up with 12 year olds shooting at you or others trying to wreck your PVE experience, not to mention I wonder how long it will take before hackers show up as well which will make the game even more terrible.

    This should have been either a 100% PvP game or a 100% PVE game, then perhaps it might have faired better with the public opinion. Lastly, I come to the paid mods situation - listen Bethesda I'm okay with you making buggy or incomplete games, I'm not okay with paid mods and will always give a negative review based on this fact- Creation club will be implemented at a later date and that is something I'm not okay with, but seeing you guys are steadfast into turning the mod scene into another method to generate Microtransactions.    … Expand

    This is one of the most boring games I have ever played. No NPCs, no supply lines, just a stripped down version of Fallout 4. Lucky for Bethesda, they didn’t release on Steam or I’d have gotten a refund.

    A total money grab. Buggy and broken. Bethesda just re released the fallout 4 engine and skimped in every way possible (no NPC == less expenses). Looking at how Skyrim and Fallout 4 both have game breaking bugs known since their launches I do not expect this game to get much better. An absolute waste of money.

    I played Fallout 76 for about 3 hours then returned to Fallout New Vegas.
    Bethesda simply did everything i dislike in a video-game. Next.

    This game doesn't seem it was made in 2018. It seems quite an old game, the UI is terrible, the amount of bugs is by far the buggiest game I've ever played in my entire life. This writing is really poor, microtransactions, you name it.
    Please, do not buy this game. It's a testament how these guys don't respect their gamers.

    Of all things the only thing a video game is supposed to do is: be fun!

    And yet, devoid of any substance or complexity, this game is just waiting for a modder to come along and make it actually good.

Consider that this is a person that gave Fallout 4 a 10 rating a long time ago (check my rating for then) and know I am not that hard to please. I am so ashamed of Bethesda it is not funny. I used to love them, now it is the opposite. What they did with the release of Fallout 76 is honestly criminal. Under noI am sorry to have to give this a 0 but honestly, it is deserving.     It's been over a year since release and Fallout 76 continues to disappoint completely. Bethesda has managed to push a ridiculously priced subscription meanwhile people are still falling through the world, having creatures not respond properly, other game breaking bugs connectivity issues, and on top of this having their entire inventories stolen via hacks. This game is a joke.

    This "game" just an insult to any gamer in every aspect. Graphics and animation is 10 years behind. Empty story and boring gameplay. I have no more words... so disappointing and insulting to every Fallout fan, just horrible. This "game" should never be shown to public, not to mention sold for any money.

    I hope people send a clear message that this treatment of customers will not be tolerated. And the only way to get this message across to a company is their wallet. I am not sure if I will ever buy a Bethesda game again. Shame Bethesda, you sold a piece of garbage for full price and lied at E3 about everything working.

Nobody asked for MMO Fallout but here we are. Everybody wanted coop with friends 4 players and maybe 8 player squads for some riot fun at most.     This game fails in almost all aspects is every respect. Perhaps if this was a free to play game then it might be worth a touch but even then the performance isnt acceptable in 2018. The **** 15 gb patch didnt even effevtively fix any of these issues.

    60$ for a game that feels it's in alpha, sprinkled with micro transactions. whoever gives this garbage a score above 5, is insane no matter how much of a fallout fan they are. It's like pretending to enjoy eating **** with ketchup because you love pizza. Absolutely insane.

    Bethesda is no longer good guys in game dev, they are greed corporation and it started showing since 'payed mods' incident. Game is buggy, uninteresting, and overall is just explore->kill->loot loop but there is nothing to explore, enemies (or should i just say scorched) are always the same, and loot is meaningless.

    First of all, its a buggy mess.
    The world feels so empty without NPC's and the endgame (or the lack of it) is a joke.
    If you're playing coop, only one can use a workbench at a time, which slows the game down a lot.
    Overall i wouldnt recommend this to anyone, especially with the current price tag.

    Bethesda should never have released the game like this. They have taken everything out of the game for what Fallout stands and have replaced it with multiplayer mechanics that they apparently do not even understand.

    I'm 16 hours in and I don't understand what this "game" is trying to be. Role playing? I've yet to experience a moment of it? The majority of people are just moving from A to B it's like starring at the sun but you paid a company for the privilege to do so.

    Tedious game, buggy mess, bad netcode, bad engine, bad fanboys who claim a turd rolled in glitter tastes fantastic. I'm all for change, for the better. Unfortunately this is a bad change. Even a lot of the positive reviews list some bugs and say the game is only OK to them, then still give it a perfect 10 score! Fanboys disgust me.

    I highly not recommend this game. The engine is very awful, keep a distance from this game. But I still hope for the bright future of Bethesda SoftWorks.

    One of the worst games I ever played in 3 decades. Its pretty much a scam. Only good thing I got out of it was the helmet from the collectors edition (lets forget about the nylon bag).

Micro-transactions, terrible graphics, terrible UI, clunky animations & movement, godawful controls, a lifeless world void of any NPCs, constant disconnects, lock-ups, the typical bugs that come with any of Bethesda's titles & a game engine older than TutankhamunI received Fallout 76 for free & I still feel like I've been ripped off by Bethesda.     I've given this game a zero due to the sheer audacity of its existence. The arrogance and shamelessness of the blatant cash grab attempt. Marketing filled with lies when no effort went into this game. Meanwhile it has fully functional micro-transactions at disgusting prices. They also need punishing for coming up with the most flawed pvp system of all time.

It feels like something that a few modders spent a year doing and felt it was in a good enough state to release. If it was just a mod everyone would love it! But this is a AAA release by Bethesda themselves and it is essentially a big middle finger to the players.

    Reasons not to buy this game:

    1: Gameplay loop that gets incredibly dull long before finishing the game.

    2: PvP is the worst I've ever seen in any big multiplayer release that has PvP. It's clear that no one knew how to make a multiplayer game at Bethesda.

    3. Rampant bugs. I firmly believe that it is one hundred percent impossible to play for just thirty minutes without running into a bug minor or major.

    If you are on the fence about buying this game, think in your head how it would feel to hang yourself whilst vomiting and spewing diarrhea everywhere, that is the experience of playing this game.    … Expand

    For years i have been a big fan of Bethesda and most say that i am rather Shocked of their latest Release, and here is my list of the absolute Chaos i went through playing my 30 hours Fallout 76

    - i started struggling with the resolution of the game i have a 37" Monitor, and when i started the game it kept going to Borderless Window Mode with 1920x1080, when i was aiming for a Locked Fullscren mode with 2560x1600, it took me proberly and hour before it suddenly worked... What a start...

    While roaming through the first 45 min of the world, i met another player and we decided to run together to gain some experience killing things. We then encountered a pack of Mongrel dogs, and we started fighting these, and suddenly after i shot one of them, it went crazy (the ragdoll of the Mongrel i suppose it was) went to the air stretching across the whole map like something i have never seen before, just flying around, and after a while it happend to the rest of the pack, and it ended up killing us both because we could not hit them as they where stretching across the under the terrain, we were like, what in the bloody hell was that.. and this i just the top of the iceberg.

    so let me short it down alittle.

    - AI is stupid and buggy as hell, you can trap them easy in the environment and kill them.

    - Scorched Model and Animation is absolutely Hideous it looks and feels like something from a 2000 Game... COME ON!!!!!, and same goes to alot of the other creatures!

    - Environment Design is SOULLESS, it just feels like they had to finish this game in a hurry and had absolutely no love for the environment, i've seen better designers on youtube creating speed terrain designs in Unreal and Unity Engines.

    - Textures, ohh the textures.. in many areas i encountered Flickering Textures which was so amazingly annoying to look at and so low res, and also encountered the whole Skymap flickering to Black.

    - Environment props are the same as fallout 4 plus some new ones which looks horrible too.

    - Crazy Framerate drops obviously because of the lack of optimization...!!

    - Too much Terrain, huge lack of city / industrial environments.. West Virginia? No Virginia, fallout i think had a great variation the big City and the wasteland, this is just Bullsh*t..

    Bethesda just didn't do it this time, i am sorry and very sorry for all the people who had their hype up for this, what an absolutely disappointment, i do NOT recommend people paying for this.

    i only give them 2 in rating for the online part, which actually seem to work rather great, but nothing else worked this time, good luck bethesda cleaning up this mess.    … Expand

    In favor of what? Nothing says immersion like server disconnects and some random a-hole shouting at me over his mic and punching me in the head in the first five minutes of creating my character.

    There is just an absolute truckload of bugs and disappointments in this title which the community can't even fix, which is traditionally how all of those problems got fixed.

    I LOVE Fallout 3 and NV and even 4 holds a special place in my heart, but this is really quite bad for a multitude of reasons. People are voting it 10s because for some reason they're so brainwashed into the brand they feel the need to defend Bethesda, but I just don't understand how they can't see how obvious of a cash-grab this is?

    It's just an enormous disappointment and as a huge fan of the last three it makes me super depressed. It's more of a world I want to play in, presented in a fashion that makes me absolutely hate it.    … Expand

    Bethesda tried easy money grab and finally as previous fan i finally abandoned them, the Fallout 4 was already **** this was a total garbage. Can't believe they still using this 20 years old engine.

    Fallout 76 represents a big disappointment and the lowest point of the series so far. Riddled with bugs, repetitive and dull gameplay, nonexistent story and outdated graphics, it fails as a both multiplayer and singleplayer experience for fans and newcomers alike.

    Miracles do happen once in a while and No Man’s Sky proved that sometimes it is possible to get back on your feet even after a terrible failure. Right now though Fallout 76 is botched spectacularly on so many levels that even talking about this game is a waste of time. [01/2019, p.46]
