Now that I've finally pumped a bunch of hours into it, I've formed my opinion. I like it a lot. It's not perfect. Not by a long shot. What I don't seem to understand is why people who don't like slow, survival type games feel the need to write terrible reviews. If it's not the style game you don't enjoy, your review is pretty much pointless. No one is listening to you anyway. It's got the basics from those games with the fantastic world of Fallout. The scavenging and crafting is on point. All the little player friendly decisions like stash and materials being available all over the world are great. I also enjoy their take on a real time VATS. I find myself using it all frequently. If you like to just chill out, game while watching Netflix or football, this game is for you. It needs some time to grow with content but I have no doubt that this game will morph over the next 6 months into something truly special. Happy Thanksgiving! Expand

I try to make this as objektive and constructive as possible:
    Povitive Points:
-unbelievable kind and peacefull even cooperative community -much better (at least german) voice actors than bevor -much better letters and terminal entrys -future implementation of Push2Talk and hopefully a chat for pc -nice workshoplocations and nice (but partially misleading) goodies like the verdiebot

-unbelievable kind and peacefull even cooperative community

-much better letters and terminal entrys
-future implementation of Push2Talk and hopefully a chat for pc
-nice workshoplocations and nice (but partially misleading) goodies like the verdiebot (i thought you can travel with it, but you cant)
-performanceimproovements in contrary to fallout 4 and you can look much further than before
-relatively low required performance (except processor [CPU])
-you can use the powerarmor without a fusioncore ... but it has a very annoing continous alarm sound that can not be stopped
-contrary to many people here: The landscape looks manificent even though it is limited through the engine
-The cameramode and the personal loading screens are a real highlight
-The atmospheric sound like the weather etc has quite improoved in quallity
    -improoved buildingmenu
-Big map, like really big but i personally cant imagine that it is 4x the size of fallout 4's map [this is subjective!]
-i think the nuke system is a realy cool idea that hasnt been there before.
-the implementation of the local lore is realy good and they dont overuse these enemys ingame
-nice to be able to change the character any time
-the free Beta Codes were realy kind!

    Negative Points:
-in 24 hour gameplay more than 3 hours sorting items out after i wasted and just throw away many items i was still overloadet with barely anything on me (this is nearly gamebreaking)
-I simply ignore minor graphic bugs, but questbreaking bugs are realy anoing (this is literraly gamebreaking)
-in most areas the workshop build and stash limit is way like really way to low and has to be much higher
-Weapons break too fast even with perks that should counter it
-The Pipboy needs a seperation between food and meds/chems and additionall options to better sort items like for itemweight and complete collective weight of an item e.g.: 1 stimpack ways 1kg then the collective weight of 75 collected stimpacks in my inventory way 75kg. It should be able to sort them this way
-The buildmenu for the pc needs better controls and not just z and c keys.
-has possibilty to see if you allready know a recipe or buildingplan when buing them from a vendor of wich there are only a few on the map
-the game looks good but somewhat too similiar to Fallout 4
-some seemingly interesting places like the spacestation are just plain empty from story or any kind of life what so ever. There are not even notes (beside for the one door for the space suits) or holotapes or even many new enemys
-the charactermenu has much to less options for customisation.I would prefer more like the hair etc. options like in the Sims or equivalents.
-on some points the game reminds me of No Mans Sky or Mass Effect Andromeda: They were not finnished on release
-Please dont destroy the lore. There has to be some kind of consistence over time and when i see the reason of the supermutants or the BoS this makes me thinking, if this was the right decision (even though Iam a realy big fan of the Brotherhood)

    Conclusion:
All in all this game reminds me on other big titles like GTA 5 or No Mans Sky. They booth had their flaws at the beginning and were even very empty but and this is where i think Fallout 76 will lead: Besides their flaws that can be corrected, it can and it partially is now a game that is entertaining alone or in groups and it will certainly be better.

P.S.: One part is still worring me a little bit: The private servers in the relatively far future seem only be hostable by bethesda themselves and lets see where the Atom Points are heading

    EDIT:
They **** up hard. Fallout 1st and other stuff behind a paywall after shattering the game with broken promises

If you review this game as a multiplayer survival game, it gets very high marks. If you review this as a single player Fallout game, it gets a much more mediocre score.

The big deal here is this: If you are after a multiplayer Co-Op survival game: get this game.

If you focus on PvP, be wary: there's not a whole lot to do, yet.

If you are only interested in this game because you've liked the previous fallouts, and have no interest in the multiplayer aspects, be wary.

Gameplay as a multiplayer survival Co-Op game:

This gets an 85/100. Higher once they sort bugs, balance and PC QOL issues. It is however an overpriced 85 compared to the rest of the genre, which usually costs 40USD.

Based on a comparison to other online survival co-op games, Fallout 76 is already a better game in most respects than a close competitor, like ARK: Survival Evolved, and that's even accounting for the buggy launch. The teamplay aspects are much more enjoyable, the combat is better, the loot, crafting and leveling system is far better, and the voice acting, quests, public events, and anti-griefing systems leave the game in the dust.

Graphically, the game is more impressive, more stable, and less GPU hungry than ARK, which has been around for years - and that's even accounting for the fact that with the buggy Bethesda-style launch, Fallout 76 isn't amazingly stable.

In fact, the only systems where ARK beats Fallout 76 is availability of pvp (even though ARK arguably has too much, and no anti-griefing), and the lack of "pet" content. The base building is much more limited in size than in ARK, but has about five times the depth, and is vastly more accessible.

This is in comparison to a game with a 70% metacritic score, 7.7 on ign, and mostly positive recent reviews on steam.

From a pvp standpoint, I could see people finding it disappointing, as there isn't a whole lot of it, but as a player who detested the free-for-all gigantic raid tribe meta of ARK, it's extremely refreshing for a developer to not allow it to taint the rest of the game. Bethesda has teased faction based pvp in the future however, so it remains to be seen if Fallout 76.

You can make other comparisons to similar games like Rust or Conan Exiles, which are valid as well: but the result is the same: if you want a questing/co-op experience inside a multiplayer survival game, this is top of the pile.

Gameplay as a single player title: this gets a 65/100.

As a single player game, it's a quite fun RPG with good leveling, loot, crafting: and reasonably good graphics, but a bit lacking in story, and also overpriced.

It is let down by a bizarre choice to waste hours of recorded (well acted) voice/dialogue on holotapes and robots, and inexplicably not have any human NPCs to deliver it. There are so many quests that feel like an NPC is giving you radio updates already, but for whatever reason they've decided to theme it all as found-footage/epistolary storytelling: and there does not appear to be much reasoning for it all.

As a standard entry to the fallout series judged only on those merits, it comes across as kind of mediocre.

    Graphics:

Graphically, since it is intended for multiplayer, it doesnt provide as striking visuals as those of single player games. Players hoping for a RDR2 level of graphical fidelity will find it lacking, but it stands up well against other multiplayer games.

    Bugs:

    Fallout 76 is buggy.

There are some minor bugs, some major bugs and some exploits of varying degrees.

Less than a week after launch bethesda is already fixing some big ones - like upping the FPS cap to 144FPS, and fixing bases getting deconstructed on log off. There are also some balance issues with some weapons like lasers and miniguns doing super low damage, eating through ammo quickly and breaking extremely fast.

These bugs are annoying, frustrating and, to some extent inexcusable. But they're also a bit of a reality with game development these days. If Bethesda can keep at fixing these things rapidly, they will repair the harm that the bugs are currently causing to the game's reputation.

    Conclusion:

Fallout 76 is a multiplayer survival game: as that, it's a success, if a bit buggy on launch. If you insist on reviewing a multiplayer survival game as a single player offline game, it will be disappointing. Either way it's a bit overpriced in either category, but if you review it for what it is, a multiplayer Co-Op game: It's extremely enjoyable.

Instead of guiding you on the path to rebuilding the world after nuclear armageddon they have given every player the freedom to explore the world at his/her own pace. I truly believe Fallout 76 is a magnificent concept, being able to interact with others while exploring the glowing mysteries of Appalachia. NPCs from previous Fallout games were really well done and helped with immersion to a certain extent but having such a big map populated just with AI is dull for a 2018 game, especially Fallout. With Fallout 76, the story is scattered around the map for players to piece together, just like a puzzle. I think this sort of challenge is great but it certainly isn't as appealing to everyone that played previous Fallout games, especially Fallout 4. I believe that one of the most important aspects of this game is that the current concept caters mostly to hardcore fans due to the amount of planning, strategy and patience one must have in order to succeed.
The online world of Fallout has a huge amount of potential for diversification, which I am really looking forward to.
The Fallout 76 in game community is amazing and I can genuinely say that I've never seen before people that are so helpful even though they don't have anything to gain. Sure, there are a few griefers but that is to be expected from an online game with such a big fan base.
In terms of gameplay I must say that the graphics have definitely improved since Fallout 4 but there are quite a few glitches and bugs which I hope will be fixed in the future. Sometimes there are also performance issues such as freezes and crashes but they don't happen as often as they did during B.E.T.A.
Overall I can say that I love the new approach Bethesda has taken with Fallout and even though it might take a little while for everything to be the way the devs want to, I'm sure the journey ahead is going to be epic. Kudos Bethesda!

Please, don't pay mind to these bloated, pathetic creatures saying "THIS IS THE WORST F****** GAME OMG BETHESDA WHERES FALLOUT 5." There are people who were going to hate on Bethesda and post toxic reviews for this game on launch day from the moment they knew it was coming out because it was Fallout 5 or bust for them. But they don't have jobs or hygiene or friends outside of their mothers and the legion of trolls with whom they shack up every night on the internet.

IMHO, this is a giant new Fallout game in which I have forfeited VATS for the opportunity to finally play Fallout with friends.

I'm loving it. I know people had tons of expectations for it, and that there's been a massive bandwagon against it, but whatever -- I'm having a blast playing it, and that's what matters in the end. Comparisons to Rust abound, but I prefer FO:76 vastly.

It's not a "skin," it's Fallout, warts and all. Everything I've done so far has felt like FO4, which I realize some people don't like, but that's their prerogative.

Every single location my buds and I have visited so far has had an interesting story to tell. Emotional holo-tapes (some several minutes long), notes, hand-written journals, terminal logs, and sentient robots all shed light on what life was like for past, pre-war inhabitants. Many times, their grim stories will even kick off a variety of small quests. It's a far cry from other survival games like Rust, Conan Exiles, DayZ, and Ark Survival that don't even HAVE quests, let alone much backstory. From what I've seen of the survival genre, the sole fact that FO76 is NOT Early Access already has me hooked.

Overall, aside from a few graphical bugs I've encountered, I've had a ton of fun surviving, exploring, fighting different enemies, building my own mini-base, and uncovering crazy secrets on the map. Even though it's not your traditional single-player Fallout RPG, the amount of content and systems at play in FO76 is staggering for an online survival MMO and can keep you and your friends occupied for weeks. If you're into PvE and Roleplay the West Virginia hills are vast and filled with NPC monsters for hunting and looting. If you're into PvP, there are always good bounties waiting on Hunter/Hunted Station radio.

Some sage advice from an old arcade player, if you're ever not sure whether a modern game is worth it's full price, rate it at $1 an hour. If you can get 60 hours of game-play from a $60 retail game, it's well worth it in my old-school, coin-operated book.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. As an avid fallout fan, I can't stop playing this game. I have always wanted a multiplayer fallout.

    Recommended improvements:
Fix the mob glitches where their models are either messed up or they are attacking you and you can't see them.

Add Human NPCs with actual story components.

If you're expecting a fallout game that is deep with story, this isn't the game for you. There are quests in it, however, they are simple quests that have large rewards. Most of the people complaining about the game seemed to expect a whole new fallout story line. Granted it has been 3 years since the last fallout game, but that's still not enough time for a well developed game. Fallout 76 is essentially fallout 4 set in a new environment where you can play with your friends.

I was a little hesitant on playing Fallout 76 due to the multiplayer aspect of the game, as Fallout has always been a single-player experience for me and I was very protective of that aspect. However, giving it a chance this definitely has the spirit of a Fallout game. The environment, the lore, the storytelling, all bring back that nostalgia. The multiplayer atmosphere is also great, I haven't had any issues with greifers at all, players have been helpful and in character for the universe, although I do recommend having everyone and yourself muted as all microphones constantly broadcast every sound in your vicinity. I've heard a lot of barking dogs, screaming kids, and burps before I just muted everyone. However, this is still a Bethesda game, so bugs do pop up occasionally. The game runs smooth with very rare server interruptions, although enemy animations not playing are my most common bug, but only a fairly minor one at that.
Despite the negativity surrounding the game, if you're a big fan of Fallout and the world and lore surrounding this franchise, I suggest giving it a decent chance.

It makes your character very diverse, you can switch if you play solo/with friends. The PvP system is interesting and it is a good touch that you activate it, if you actually both engage each other.

I see that people are complaining about microtransactions. Note that those are only cosmetics, so you don't have to buy them if you don't want to. There are also plenty of cosmetic items in the game.

The only downsides are that the story is a bit shallow and there are plenty of bugs around. I hope that Bethesda will fix a lot of them.

Also, all of them are able to be earned through regular gameplay. The social side of Fallout 76 is incredible (and hilarious at some points). I once found a player with the EXACT same face, hair, clothes, etc. I took a picture while he was on his PIP-BOY, and sometimes see it as a loading screen. Overall, the game could use optimization. My GTX 1050 OC could run Fallout 4 on all High and Ultra settings at 60+ fps. On the contrary, Fallout 76 runs 50-60 fps on Low. I think that the multiplayer experience is well reasoned and well implemented aside from a few minor gripes about balance and quality of life.

This is not an MMO and this is not purely a Co-op either, it is more unique than that and I applaud Bethesda for taking the time and having the courage to make something truly unique. That being said, this game is everything that I ever wanted in a multiplayer fallout game and more. The experience of seeing other players, meeting to trade, to fight, and to team up is really a fantastic experience. It adds a new aspect to the world that never existed before by providing a novel feeling of vulnerability that past games just could not give. The player character is no longer a god, they are a denizen of the world and to thrive, they might sometimes have to work together with or fight against other players.

Many have criticized the world for being "empty", but I think that is a matter of perspective really. Bethesda seems to go out of their way to give that feeling of the world being empty. Everyone, every living person, is dead. Some were alive days before you got there, but they are dead now. You can see their faces and hear their voices on holotapes, get a sense of their personalities and lives, but they are gone. Not a single person still lives when you arrive. This seems to build a tension and an expectation of the possibility that perhaps somewhere, someone could still be alive but they never are. This is actually really cool. When people say the world is empty, they really should be sure to say that this does not mean that there is a lack of content. The world is painstakingly crafted and full to the brim with small details, lore, and points of interest. It is probably the most dense map I have ever experienced in a Fallout game, or even in any game. I am glad, in a way, that there aren't obnoxious, boring NPCs walking around to ruin the atmosphere when they repeat the same 3 lines over and over and over again.

So far, the game has been more than worth the money and Bethesda has great plans for the game. This is a living game that will grow and change with time. Vaults will be opening and faction operations are going to begin soon. I am very excited to seen where the future takes me with this game and I hope that other people can see that in this game as well.

There not being human npcs didn't actually bother me too much, I got used to it very quickly, and it in my opinion doesn't effect the game play at all. I like the Mr. Handys any way, though there are a bit too many holo tapes. The pvp is very fair though as not everyone wants to kill people, if you want to do that, go play rust. In this game you can mind your own business and do whatever you want without really having to worry about other players. If some players are trying to kill you, all you have to do is either not fight back, and if they kill you, they get a bounty or leave that server and join another server. Base building is nice and balanced, you can't place your camp everywhere as it takes a decent amount of caps. Again this game does not deserve the amount of hate its getting just because its not fallout 5 and it multiplayer. Though I don't get what people mean by the game is unfinished or the graphics are bad, I don't know what utopia future they are living in, but the graphics for the game are nice. The quests of the game are also pretty cool as almost every location you visit has something with it, either you have to do a quest associated with it and other buildings, but they aren't each very similar. Each of them feel very unique and cool. You have quests where you go across the map, or quests that link to other quests even. Most of the people I'm assuming came to this game with a negative opinion in mind even though they had not yet played the game. I mean its almost like a negativity bias with what these people are doing. They come to the game with negative opinions and they block out all good things about the game with the things that aren't so great. They saw that the game was multiplayer, or how there are no human npcs, and heard that someone else say that they think the game will be bad, who heard from another person that the game will be bad and the chain of negativity continues. I know this game doesn't exactly deserve a 10, but I'm going to give it that just so people don't continue this negative bias towards the game without even playing the game and never fully experienced what the game holds. I'll start quite simple. I love this game, I love the Fallout series and I love what Bethesda do. If you could sum up Bethesda in one word, I would use "ambitious". People have wanted multiplayer Bethesda games for a long time. This is the first time we've got one (Yes I am aware of ESO, I played it, but that's made by Zenimax and is barely faithful to the Elder Scrolls world). BethesdaI'll start quite simple. Bethesda have created a beautiful and atmospheric world that we can explore together, and they plan to keep adding to it for FREE. The microtransactions are cosmetic only and OPTIONAL.

A lot of people are complaining about the survival aspects. It was ADVERTISED as being more about survival than previous games. If people didn't pay attention to that well that's their problem.

People also complain about the lack of human NPCs. Yes it can be a bit jarring coming from games where people are everywhere you look, but we're overlooking one key fact. Fallout 76 is chronologically the earliest Fallout game to date. A lot of the Vaults from which people appeared to settle the wasteland are still sealed. It makes sense that there aren't any people about. They survived on the surface in a hostile world for a while, but radiation and other problems have taken their toll. Bethesda have said they will update the game supposedly "forever". Who's to say we won't start seeing NPCs appear as time goes on, as Vault Dwellers begin to settle the wasteland. This game will live or die on its player base. It's up to US to rebuild. The dwellers of Vault 76 are the first to emerge.

The crafting and camp system for me are fantastic, letting us claim our own corner of Appalachia. If you enjoy survival, enjoy roleplaying or just enjoy shooting things in the face, this game has something for you. Don't let the whining of people who didn't bother to research what they were buying put you off this amazing game.

Most negative reviews are most likely from PBuG and Fortnite fans. Some sound like they never even bought or played the actual game (Beta does not count). Only time will tell how this New Style PvP game play fits the game style. I have purchased and played, I believe this is as close as possible to what us Fallout fans wanted in my opinion. Now let the Mods begin!

A Sandbox like MMO of Fallout 76 that sets out for what it wants to do. It has some issues such as FoV but still is a lot of fun. Most of the negative reviews are simply because people wanted another single player Fallout and are afraid of change.

The ire directed at Fallout 76 is misguided, the game is different from other Fallout titles however it is an enjoyable coop experience. The only thing I can imagine is most 0 reviews are because those individuals are to odious to actually enjoy talking and playing with other human beings.

I've loved and poured hours into Fallout 3, NV, and 4. Fallout 76 isn't meant to be Fallout 5. It is meant to be something different, and it is. It takes elements from previous Fallout games, but replaces some elements with parts of other online multiplayer games to create an experience where "the whole amounts to more than the sum of its parts". High points: exploring an interesting wasteland with a friend, overcoming challenges cooperatively, and the progression system has me hooked.

Also, the Micro-transactions aren't intrusive at all. I have found really cool outfits in the game world that I would rather wear over the stuff in the cash store.

I can understand this game isn't for everyone and it has bugs, the graphics aren't like god tier; but I don't think this game justifies such huge negativity just because it doesn't fit everyone cookie cutter expectations. I bet most haven't even played the game enough to give it a chance. I'm already level 51 and when I was level 42 I seen a level 84 already. I been to 3 nuke zones and its a lot of fun roaming around with groups of randoms killing mobs, its only annoying with trying to get loot off the dead enemies because it seems randoms that participated in hitting the enemy can take the same loot so you could end up with nothing after the kill. I rarely met game breaking bugs other than the disconnects and game crashing, which in some terms ended up me losing junk after dying which is frustrating, also lost an item a legendary quest item at Mama Dolce's Food Processing Event Feed the People; which Bethesda can't help replace. The game shines for those that like to loot, hoard, explore, and fight with somewhat of a survival struggle; like the odds are against you and your level 20 killing level 50 scorchbeast. There does need to be quality of life additions, fixing bugs, balancing/nerfing/buffing perks, items, etc. A big negative for me is the storage capacity. I end up wasting all my time managing weight and having to drop stuff just so I can fast travel, because I like doing the events for chance at blueprint or legendary item. I met a person that hasn't fast traveled since they were level 12 and been over-encumbered to 1200+ weight. This game has Fallout Universe feel to it, but it does lack the choices = impact like in older Fallout games and somewhat in Fallout 4's ending. But, who knows maybe Bethesda will open up vaults and the world gets populated with vault dweller npcs and people will still complain. I feel like this game is niche, in that its for specific people that would enjoy what this game gives, and it might be fun to non Fallout fans that like exploring, looting, and casual survival aspects. Since, I'm level 50 I have so many quest I have yet to do because of looting and exploring I still need to do. I think if Bethesda lets us pause holotapes so we don't have to replay them because of someone talking or noise from fighting, let us have push to talk and push to mute, let us favorite perk cards so it makes it easy to see favorite perk cards to swap out in situations, give us backpacks and more stash inventory, add some npcs to make the world feel much more alive, like I really want a city to explore (only place that feels like it is Greenbriar hotel and its full of 1 line robots), and other quality of life patches then I feel like this game will be way better. There were server disconnects in the first couple days as is to be expected with any new multiplayer game. I've been racking many hours daily and have not been disconnected for days. The biggest failure this game exposed is that of the Game Review establishment.

The multiplayer mechanics have also brought civility to multiplayer survival genre. After getting a wanted level for accidentally stealing another players loot. I experienced my first PVP death. Upon re-spawn I grabbed my "junk", since that's all you drop, and we gave each-other the thumbs up. There is no incentive to grief players. This aspect of the game will keep it alive and make it's base grow. I returned the favor to another player with a wanted level scoring my first PVP kill. After re-spawn I told him over voice comm no hard feelings but he had a bounty. He totally got it.

I was initially disappointed, as many other Fallout Fans were, about the lack of rich dialogue between human NPCs. For many reason, this is hard to translate into the multiplayer environment. That being said, I've really come to appreciate the stories as they are in this environment. Many questions use Terminals, Holo tapes, and notes to dell the stories and enrich the quests. Once you progress to later game quests it's even more enjoyable.

Time will expose many of the negative reviews for this game to be just another example of people jumping on band-wagons to complain. It's becoming an inside joke for those who actually play the game.

The game is, in my experience, focused around sniffing around ruined buildings, looting junk, building bases, taking pictures, and killing enemies. While I can understand there is usually more than that (like lore, story and meaningful choices) in a usual Fallout game (and there is, but it is not the strong point of this opus), I often found that the part I ended up doing and enjoying the most in Fallout games are exactly what I mentioned Fallout 76 was about, so, it hit my right switches.

There was also the focus around taking pictures which I found was silly, but again, I was surprised. You may not get out of a place with much loot or experience but you mostly always do with memories and having pictures of it is really nice to remember what you have been trough. I must be honest that at times, It felt more like being a tourist in a strange country than a survival game since it is not that dangerous when grouped, and I loved it.

That is exactly what I got. One of the users here tried to explain it was like a bad fortnite clone and I don't see it at all. It's more akin to DayZ, ARK, or Rust. It's a survival multiplayer shooter set in the Fallout universe, and it works pretty well comparatively. In fact, the overall hatred of this game has stumped a few of my friends who have been watching me play who were never interested in Skyrim or Fallout, at least not to a huge degree. They've found my gameplay interesting so far, with a number of things to do compared to the other survival games.

DayZ: Run to northwest airfield, craft crap, shoot enemies, and die from starvation/thirst, repeat
Ark: Tame dinos, fight bosses, craft crap, shoot enemies, die from a thylocoleo, repeat.
Rust: Build a base, raid other people's bases, craft crap, shoot enemies, die from another player, repeat.
Fallout: Go talk to a computer, go build a base, go raid a vault, go launch a nuke, go raid the blast zone of the nuke, play with friends, shoot enemies, sell your crap, buy crap, craft crap, listen to bombin music, play in a band, go on a hunt, etc.

Like... I don't really understand what you were expecting. This basically met my expectations and ended up being more fun than expected. However, I saw the problem well before this. Watching Youtubers like Yong speculate what the game would be about was.. hilarious. They were so far wrong at the beginning and you can even look back at what was said.

"You'll be able to play by yourself.. in a shared world" - Means: "Yeah you can play by yourself but you're gonna die."

"You'll be able to make personal choices" - Means: "It's a sandbox. You can do whatever you want. It's just like DayZ or Rust. Part of the fun is Roleplay."

This game is a DnD group's wet dream in my opinion. If you don't have an imagination or can't role play, or just don't have fun with other people, this game isn't for you. If you like to build your own story, play a character, role play with others, there is SERIOUSLY nothing better than this game. Having someone ask me for some aluminum scrap and then having them explain to me a story while we did the trade is probably one of the best experiences I've had in a game.

This isn't a story based Fallout. This is a roleplayers fallout. Get over yourselves.

When I play, I'm transported in time, all the NPCs are dead and I feel seriously alone. It's a dreadful feeling but somehow a beautiful feeling. What remains of this bomb shattered world are the monsters that remain, the confused robots and other players trying to murder you. It's a work of art. The NPCs are dead, long ago! Bombs, mutants and disease wiped them out. All that's left is the residents of all the vaults that are scavenging around trying to kill each other.

As for bugs, crashes, bad UI, fetch missions it's nonsense, all a load of nonsense conjured up by hardcore previous Fallout gamers. Well, I haven't played the previous Fallout games and I hate it when people expect a game to be more or less like the previous game before it.

I'm level 25, the quests that I've encountered has sent me half way across the map to cook up some moonshine that resorted in my trying to find a hidden entrance and battling terrifying giant scorpions trying to chop me in half.

There is no story, you make your own story. Read the diaries, notes and terminals of those left behind. They will reveal treasure or send you on grand adventures. Befriend a robot and find out what happened to a missing boy taken from a water park (I ended up being in the tunnel of a dam being eaten by a horde radroaches!)

I've seriously not encountered any bugs of any kind, I do get the occasional lag spikes that last for a second. Sometimes the monsters do get a bit glitchy but that's it.

As for base building, armor creation/weapon creation & modification. Never in my life have a played such a game that allows a player to customize their items so much. I found a rifle when I was level 5, it had a wooden stock and it looked awful. Now I'm level 25 and it has a Recon scope, a long barrel and an epic looking stock! It's my favorite weapon and I'll keep it forever. (You get attached to your gear)

Seriously, stop reading the reviews, this isn't a game riddled with bugs, fetch missions, micro-transactions and it seriously isn't dull. Get the game, enjoy it and play it. Hate the haters, this game is the best!

Bethesda has improved Fallout 76 a ton. There's tons of new things to do, and there are very few glitches left in the game. I'd recommend checking out some footage of the new gameplay, and if you like it, see if it's for you.

If people are still bad-talking this game, it's because they haven't played it recently or at all. If you look around though, not even one of these complaints is legitimate any more. It was easy to see the game wasn't quite perfect when it came out, but because of the online nature of the game, it is getting consistent updates, fun new quests, regular bug fixes, and a lot more things that other Bethesda titles rarely see!

Don't jump on the hate bandwagon, give it a try for yourself! I've been playing since Fallout 3, and this feels like a natural progression in the series. People are also griping about micro-transactions for some reason? I really don't get it. The currency used to buy the extra COSMETIC items can be earned very easily in game. None of it gives you a combat advantage or changes anything but the appearance of the game (There are repair kits, but this is honestly just a quality of life thing, and it won't affect a firefight at all).

If you even liked fallout 4 remotely, it's a worthwhile purchase. It has crafting, building settlements, legendary weapons, scaling mobs, and hundreds of Easter eggs that really make these games worth playing.

You will read many reviews that compare this to games that promised big and never delivered. Bethesda delivered what they promised, but what they promised was not what a vocal few had been vying for.

Others will try to discredit positive reviews. This has become the norm for games lately - negative review bombing, and they *seem* legit. This game is exactly what it set out to be.

This game is exactly what it set out to be. Disagree with the multiplayer or the non-human NPCs only all you like, it's exactly what the series needed. It's a vibrant world that is definitely not dead, and it's made all the more sinister by the threat of others.

I've put in about 15 hours now, and I can safely say that this game is fun. It feels like Fallout, but is not the same experience. Why on earth you would expect the exact same experience from a multiplayer game is beyond me. The people I met have been great as well, the multiplayer blends really nicely into the single-player feel. Nobody's rushing to claim the best drops or grind to the highest levels just to be better than everyone else. The game plays at a comfortable pace just like a single-player game, except now you can enjoy it with friends if you want.

The game performance is good, considering I'm running on a GTX 750Ti. VATS feels good, albeit very different, and does wonders for those who can't achieve a fluid experience due to lower end PCs. The only issues I ran into were a couple minor disconnects, which I'm sure can be blamed on launch day overload. I can't speak for the graphics, but given my setup, it looks nice enough not to hinder my experience.

I actually really like the lack of human NPCs. With all the quests being through holotapes and robots, I can focus on what I actually enjoy, shooting and exploring, without missing out on the stories.

The base-building is way more enjoyable than Fallout 4 for me because it not only feels more valuable, but I get to share what I build with my friends. I played all the way through Fallout 4 without bothering with the settlement system (for the most part) because it felt like it didn't quite fit with the game. Bases in Fallout 76 fit well and feel important.

There is so much to do, and I feel like I haven't even scratched the surface after 15 hours. Whoever says this game doesn't have content is lying through their teeth. The map is huge and packed with quests and interesting locations. Regular event quests encourage interaction with other players and keep things fresh even in locations you've already combed over.

At no point have I felt pressured to make any micro-transactions. I'm earning the premium currency at a decent rate as well, and expect to be able to buy whichever thing I want from the shop by the end of the week. It feels extra, like it should. Not like they took something essential out of the game just to make a shop.

If you liked the gameplay of Fallout 4 and would enjoy that experience with friends, you'll also enjoy this game. It's not perfect, but don't let the emotional "It's not New Vegas/Rust" reviews ruin the opportunity you have to enjoy a unique and well-made game.

I will admit, I do think the lack of NPCs is a bit upsetting, and that's ultimately what holds the game back from a perfect rating in my opinion. If there is anything to improve going forward, that might be it.

Let's get one thing out of the way. This is not Fallout 5, nor does it try to be. Instead, Fallout 76 is a game of preferences. If,Let's get one thing out of the way. This is not Fallout 5, nor does it try to be. Instead, Fallout 76 is a game of preferences. If what you want is a full RPG experience with populated towns, morality systems, and a whole lot of talking, then this isn't the game for you. 76 does away with those things to instead focus on the building, crafting, fighting, and exploring of Fallout 4. If, like me, you feel that story and characters get in the way of all the fun stuff, then this may be your perfect title because, oh boy, is there a lot of fun stuff.

The combat is the meat of the game, so let's talk about it first. The shooting and fighting in Fallout 4 was decent. 76 improves upon it in every way. Guns feel snappier and more accurate. Increased recoil gives them a great percussive feel, which is further accentuated by higher damage numbers. The days of putting a whole mag into an invincible ghoul are over. Gunplay is fast and tactical.

One significant change to the formula is movement speed. Everyone moves faster, from the player characters, to the super mutants, to the mole rats. It doesn't feel like you're the Flash or anything, but the movement has been significantly upgraded. This can be a blessing, as well as a curse. Faster movement speed means it's easier to run into a corner and get stuck while a horde of mutant dogs nibble on your privates. Situational awareness is essential, now more than ever.

The last notable change to combat is in encounter design. To facilitate the multiplayer aspect, the size of each encounter has been increased. Expect to fight 5+ enemies at any given time. Feral ghouls come at you in massive gangs of a dozen or more. The new Scorched enemies use melee and flanking gunmen to overwhelm you. Creatures are unpredictable and aggressive. The sheer number of enemies in the world makes for a challenging struggle to survive.

And it's a big world. Fallout 76 is the largest map for any Bethesda Fallout by a wide margin. It is separated into a few different regions, each with distinct topography. From chemical bleached barrens, to irradiated rivers, to a lush forest seemingly untouched by all the chaos, there's always something new to see.

Building and crafting are pretty much the same as before. You get perk cards to unlock new things as well as level up your character. Unlocked items can be crafted at the appropriate bench. Building at your portable C.A.M.P has been improved, but not much. Things snap together better, but it can still be a pain to make them do so. construction is competent, but is probably the weakest part of the game.

Now on to what everyone has been worried about, multiplayer. I'm happy to report there's little in the way of griefing, because there really isn't any reason to do so. You don't lose anything other than junk when you die, your personal stash can't be raided, and killing other players only puts a bounty over your head. Being a bad guy has no positive effects, which is honestly the best deterrent to griefing.

The game truly comes alive with other players around, be they friends or just randoms. I remember a time when I was fighting a group of super mutants and getting my posterior perforated, when a chorus of gunfire rang out from the west. A duo of players had heard the commotion, come to check it out, and lent a helping hand. After the fight, we met up in the center. There was no talking. They gave me a few stimpacks and a little ammo for my hunting rifle, then went on their way. Unless you have a gaggle of friends to run around with, these are the kinds of interactions you can expect, little spurts of cooperation that make for impressively memorable moments. Maybe that will change in the future, but for now, I can count the number of negative exchanges I've had on one hand.

So, where does that leave us? I'll admit the game does feel empty at times, but it's supposed to. This is the wild west. It's untamed, and unexplored. Taming and exploring is your job, and you do it with a gun and a Pip-boy. The sheer size and density of the map ensures there will be plenty of those two things to go around. If you're looking for a distilled adventure, with little to interrupt the action, then Fallout 76 is the right game for you.

It's really sad to see this trend of hating because it's the thing to do. It seems like most gamers think developers should be punished for trying something different. And if that thing isn't perfect from the moment it is released then it must be complete crap.
    My review-
This is a Bethesda game. Bethesda games have bugs. Most of the bugs eventually get fixed. The world is massive and, in the early areas, a little empty. As you progress through the game you'll find the areas more and more congested with enemies. It is a beautiful world, though it doesn't quite feel like it was destroyed in the war as much as feels like the area was just abandoned. The enemies are fun and a little challenging early on. The potential for role play is endless.

I'm a longtime fan of the franchise. I've played all of them except Brotherhood, and I started with them as a child. I've liked every one. I do enjoy 76 so far, but for slightly different reasons than the last games.

So far, Fallout games have been about exploration, marked and unmarked locations to discover and explore, a story to experience as you go through the world, side quests that usually have some humor or a bit of information about the larger world to add to our understanding of the setting. Well, 76 does have all of these things. 76 manages to do a lot of these things that we expect from a Fallout title. The thing it does not do, that (most) of the previous titles did have, is player choice in the narrative, and NPC interactions.

The difference between this and previous games is that all of the NPC's we would normally talk with, died shortly before the player shows up. We find the remains of battles and we find their bodies and such. The plot is discovering why and how, so we won't go into that, but the point is that the normal NPC interaction that people are used to in these games is missing. We do most of the lore discovery, and most of the storytelling, is done through notes and terminals and holotape recordings. Which is fine for learning about the world, and it's adequate for telling us information, and there have already been a few holotapes that were dramatic and conveyed emotion to me, but I understand the criticism that many people have. It's adequate for conveying storytelling, but it's not that interaction that people are used to. They want to talk to people. It's a bit unfortunate that a lot of the other reviews are very hard on the game and this seems to be the most common reason. Bethesda said from the start that they want to roll with the idea that every human you come across is another actual human player. This was the game's pitch, it's what made it unique. Someone at the company had this idea and they rolled with it. This was clear from the start, so a lot of these reviews that seem to be disappointed by the lack of NPC's is a bit perplexing.

It's also worth noting, on the lack of NPC issue, that there is more voice acting and recorded dialogue for this game than every other game combined. Look it up on google, it's a fact. So it's not that there just isn't any voice acting or things to learn from people. It's just that the people are all dead, and leaving their diaries for the player to discover. It's not actually all that much different than an NPC going on a longwinded story of his recent events. One of the criticisms of New Vegas is that NPC's will occasionally stand there and go on and on spilling information to the player. It's not that different in cases like this.

The positive aspects about the game are that it has many new enemy types, a map 4 times larger than 4's map, more voice acted recorded dialogue than the previous games, and the sidequests are just as involved as the previous games. The storytelling is done through discovery, so the player is more like an investigator after the fact, rather than in the middle of events, but the tone this sets up is unique and works.

It's missing a couple things though, so I wish I could give it an 8.5 instead of 9. The PC version should allow for DoF adjusting, widescreen support, Push To Talk, rendering distance options, and other quality-of-life options that PC players are used to that scale with the strength of their machine, and aren't uniform like on consoles.

Overall, the game offers many of the things we expect from Bethesda's Fallouts. Marked and unmarked locations to explore, some interesting quests, discovering lore about the setting, etc. It ends up being a very different experience than the other Fallouts, because you are an investigator after the events, but this is just a different tone of game. I've been enjoying it so far, and I understand that it's a very different tone than most other Fallout games. I think at the end of the day, whether you like it or not mostly hinges on whether or not you mind that you're coming by after the events and discovering what happened or if you want to be in the middle of them. This tone is a lot different and might not be for everyone.

I spent most my time in FO4 building settlements and in 76 i get to share it with my friends!

There is a story, but its not handed in a medium you're used to (NPCs). You discover the story through holotapes, terminals, notes that people before you have left and it really gives a sense a post apocalyptic to the game. It's a new type of storytelling for sure.

This is not a singleplayer game. It is multiplayer and I love it. Others might not, but it is just stupid to give bad reviews because a Game is in a different genre than you would like it to be.
Of course there are some minor bugs but this is one of the most stable Bethesda releases I have ever played.

It's definitely better than the uninteresting exploration of The Division with it's repetitive apartment complexes everywhere and existence of npc's that stand there soley to be killed or give you quests. Only reason im not giving it a 10/10 is cause of some bugs and can be hard to try and play this as a solo experience

But honestly, this game is great, people are jumping on the hate-wagon without having to experience it themselves. Lets say for instance, I just watched Angry Joe's First Impressions and didnt play the game. I would probably agree with everything he said, but because i actually played a fair bit and indulged myself into the game, i felt like i could disagree with a fair few of his points. Its a shame that everyone is hating on a game they havnt even tried. Im saying this due to making a post on the reddit and people commenting they think its the worst game, but have not even had any experience with the game

    Onto some things.

"there are no NPC's!". There are NPC's, there arent "human" NPC's as of yet. You still get quests, you get them off robots, holotapes or notes. That sounds boring right? Its the same on previous fallouts, just no humans to interact with. Thats where the multiplayer comes in. out of the 25+ hours ive played so far, ive came into contact with 1 griefer which wasnt the worst experience, and it was only say 2 minutes of my time gone. Most players are friendly, at least the ones ive come in contact with

"Stash box has little space!". Now, if you ever played Fallout 3, New Vegas and 4, you would be able to have 2 companions right? 2 companions in these games have roughly the same weight limit as that stash box.

"The game is buggy, a lot of latency". Ive dealt with worse games than this, compared to Fallout 4's Launch, this game is nothing. I also played with a friend from America, in South Korea using a VPN to Australia. My latency issue? the only thing i couldnt really do was melee on a server from the other side of the world, but my bullets would hit perfectly.

The way I see this game is its like Destiny, but open world with Events, decent quests and interesting monsters.

The game would be a 10 for me if it wasnt for its flaws

I dont find the game empty at all. If you find the game empty, its because you ignore every quest given, sit behind other fallout players and just observing them and not communicating as they take in all the fun and just want to find a reason to sook. Every corner or 2 there is some form of enemy unlike Fallout New Vegas (which is my favourite game, but just pointing out emptiness in games)

I have only dulged a little into the story, which so far sounds better than Fallout 4's story in comparison. side missions are fun and interesting and so are the events that you can join in anytime that its up.

My main issue is as a solo player (Ive spent probably 4/5's of my time playing with friends), its hard to get into, you may find someone using a workshop and you cant use it, or someone is at a vendor and you cant use it, or you go do a quest in an area and someone has already been there in the past 5 minutes and all there is are corpses. Those are my only issues with the game as a solo experience

For a multiplayer perspective, its a fantastic game
For a solo perspective, it has its flaws, but its still very enjoyable

Dont listen to the reviews going for 1 or 0. A majority of these people are **** on the game just because they heard its a bad game from 1 or 2 critics. On that note, I have ran into many players that say they are loving the experience. This community is a joke and would believe that 9/11 was CGI if they watched a few videos on it

I came into this game from Fallout 4, which was the first Fallout game I actually played. I have gotten up to speed with Fallout lore from a bevy of online information sources, so I know the story up until this point. Basically, Fallout games of past have been driven by a narrative story from the perspective of a single individual player-controlled character who is that one guy who has to save the world. The story is heavily dependent upon dialog with NPCs strewn throughout the world, and the overall atmosphere is supposed to be darkly humorous with a generous helping of amusing WTFness and also some genuine moral choices to make. Often, you can be a helpful savior to strangers, or an immoral brigand who does what he wants. Either role generally can be played and allows you to still satisfy the main campaign's end game, and replaying the game from different moral perspectives lets you experience the game in a different way (high replayability).

The first thing you should do when sorting through reviews for Fallout76 is to take any review that says "this game has no plot or story" with more than just a grain of salt - it's a steadfast lie to say this game has no story and you're just wandering aimlessly. Fallout 76's story is there for anyone who wants to experience it, but you *can* play the game by ignoring the story completely and just wandering aimlessly if that's your thing. Unfortunately, it seems many people gave this game a "0" score based on the false lack of story.

The big departure this takes from other Fallout stories is that this story is based on the experiences of those who died right before you got out of the Vault. Previous Fallout games have you leaving a Vault to interact with the people who have set-up shop in the post apocalyptic wasteland 100+ years after the bombs fell, with complex trading routes established and various governing factions abound... but Fallout 76's setting is where there WAS a population of bomb-survivors established, but they all mysteriously died-out before you had a chance to meet with them.

THIS IS THE MAIN PLOT OF THE GAME.

The story of Fallout 76's campaign is the story of what happened, and why there are no survivors here anymore. Because there is no dialogue with living people, many Fallout Fans have dismissed this game and review-bombed it. Sorry you have to deal with that.

Instead, you interact with the deceased through the breadcrumbs they left behind - historical recordings, terminal entries, unfulfilled tasks, and robots executing their programs that were intended to be utilized, you know, while people were alive still. The stories of survival (and their failures) are best absorbed like a good book - My fallout 76 experience has been shooting, rummaging, then taking in a good story, then back to shooting. It makes you feel more like a detective than a Shoot-Em-Up movie star.

There is still plenty of absurdity, like the technicians who programmed their AI assistants to act like sarcastic jerks, robotic farmhands out to murder you because their automated composting routines "require more organic matter," the VaultTec experimental notes left behind in their clandestine University studies, and more. What you will NOT experience is the dialogue choices that let you chose the kind of character you want to be with NPCs. There is no dynamic dialogue with AI other than receiving information and quests from them, or turning in quest items, but even this static dialogue is amusing to me (especially when Mr. Fluffy insults his long-dead creator over his chili recipe).

The story is very dark and sad since it revolves around people's failed attempts to survive..l. there are so many tales about people trying to connect with family, children begging their vaporized parents to come back, victims trapped in closets and bunkers detailing their slow, fear-filled demise. There is story. It's harsh.

Gameplay is generally similar to Fallout4 since this game is essentially a massive, high-end Fallout4 mod. It uses the same basic principles for combat and crafting with tweaks here and there. VATS no longer stops time since it's an online game with shared live enemies; you can't pause other people's action by using VATS. You can build a small mobile CAMP that acts as your HQ for operations where ever you go, and there are no "settlements" since everyone died already due to the plot line.

The other big change is multiplayer - over the next several months people will be establishing themselves in in-game roles as they level-up and chose to start Role-Playing as a member of a faction trying to re-establish itself after the Lore Story wiped them all out. The fact that you're interacting with other humans instead of AI is going to influence your acceptability of this game. Most folks are happy to be around, some are trolls.

In the end, I enjoy the game for what it is.

What Fallout 76 is suffering from is not a gameplay problem, but an entitled gamer problem.

Gamers can't seem to handle the fact that a) they're not the Main Character and b) they have to read and listen to holotapes and notes to get the lore rather than have an NPC shovel it to them. Bethesda is amazing at writing lore, and Fallout 76 shines there IF you actually stop to appreciate it.

Todd and Pete never promised us anything in this game other than what was delivered. They didn't promise a new engine or new graphics, etc. What they told us we'd get is Fallout with friends. That's what they delivered. Gamers need to stop expecting every title to be revolutionary. Gamers need to learn to accept games that are just simply Good.

If anyone out there is disappointed in this game, it's solely because they were expecting something that was never promised to them by the developers. That's on them. Not Bethesda.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Everyone review bombing this have either never fully explored the world around them to enjoy the atmospheric story telling, or absolutely hate not having a living person with a face shout words into their face to explain the situation.

    The graphics:
I won't lie, the game uses the exact same engine, and exact same assets as Fallout 4, and some assets taken from Skyrim.
Is it lazy? Yes. - But it is still a beautiful world. People comparing this to a "PS2 game" is a flat-out lie. Play Drakengard and see for yourself.
Should the engine have been updated? Absolutely.
But, overall, other than the usual bugs at launch, I believe the game is near perfection.

    Environment:
    - "Oh, well, there's NO NPCS".
This is a lie. No living Humans does not equate to "no NPCs". Are the talking robots a great, beaming personality? Not necessarily, no. - But, there are a few very advanced characters that do have a lot to say.
The world feels like what you would expect out of a recently nuked state that is dealing with a biological attack on the side. It's hostile, and there's sparse, localised groups of life here and there. You will find that you will encounter something quite often if you stick to the main roads, and between towns. And you'll still trip over something in the wilderness and outskirts. But, you may be surprised to find that it's not New York city levels of population.

    The story:
A big one, as it's being told via holotapes, I still find the story to be interesting, but not gripping. It being told to me via holotape isn't necessarily a bad thing. it breaks convention, and I personally like that. Ultimately, when you take a step back from it for a second; what *is* the difference between getting dialogue through a tape, and getting dialogue from a NPC? Hell, Preston for Fallout 4 only told you that settlements get attacked, and people ate it up! He became a meme! But you replace it with a holotape, and suddenly it's an outrage? It's beyond me.

    Balancing:
This is a massive issue; as far as I'm concerned, ranged weapons are inferior, and that's coming from a person who mains rifles. - Melee is the way to go, and using power armour is a must. There is a lot of issues with the system in place, and Bethesda will need to fix it. Currently the meta feels like it's melee, but not by choice, but by force. - You do it, because everyone else will, and it's the best thing out there. And that's a shame.

    Patching/Quality of Life:
Bethesda have released massive patches in the couple weeks after release, patching things left, right, and centre. Detailed bug reports, and patch notes have been released, and I am personally thankful of that. Personally, I expected Bethesda to not be bothered with patching, and let the community do a "Unofficial Fallout 76 patch" mod, like we get for all the other games. But, here, we do get some sense of them actually trying to keep it going.

    Bugs:
There's some big, some small. The largest ones will waste your time, waste your in-game hard-earned materials, and will set you back. Some people quit after them, but it hasn't happened to me. For example: Your camp just disappearing. No idea why it happens, but some people have had pieces go, or entire camps just disappear, and not able to be placed back. Smaller ones include water cutting off at a weird point, rocks floating, minor immersion breaking stuff. They don't really bother me, but I know they can be big issues for other players.

    Conclusion:
The game is a lot of fun with friends, everyone i know who is playing the game is enjoying it, and I recommend at least giving the game a try. The game is buggy, but forgivable. - What is in in the game is an addictive blast.

You have to think, react and plan a bit to survive. The hunger, thirst, and radiation system keeps you on your toes and keeps you considering your actions beyond running and shooting. I have experienced no bugs involving crashing or anything game breaking at all. I prefer to spend my time with strong gameplay systems like these over heavy narrative "interactive cinema" games that have permeated the market (and yes I really do believe they are well-crafted systems!) People are so spoiled and entitled to get so aggressive about a game, saying ridiculous things like "its the worst game ever made" "most deserving game of 0 score" - maybe they are just spoiled, entitled, or childish maybe? Anyway, some of the gripes I feel are unwarranted knee-jerk hate. I will be playing for many long hours over the next few weeks at the very least. Expand

This is by far the best game i've ever played in my life. Though to be fair you need to have a pretty high IQ to appreciate the nuances and complexity of this game.

Ive played the beta for around 30 hours and I can tell you that Fallout 76 has a deep and interesting story that's portrayed in an incredibly immersive and creative way. You can definitely tell the developers put in every ounce of effort they could muster. If you are unable to read then perhaps this game is not for you.

The neck beards complaining about the lack of npc's are literally just scrounging for any excuse to hate on this masterpiece. First off, this game has TONS of npc's. The definition of a npc is a character that is not controlled by a player. Therefore every enemy you encounter (and there are literally thousands of them) is an npc so the complaint that this game has no npc's is objectively FALSE. Second, there are literally thousands of lines of dialogue in this game so people complaining about the lack of npc's have definitely never even played it and/or are unable to play a game without the game holding their hand the whole way.

Multiplayer is a blast whether solo or with friends. This game allows you and your friends to do something that no other game can come close to: create your own fun. If you lack creativity and an imaginative mind then this game isn't for you. Only casuals and non-gamers are afraid of real human interaction. The way PVP is set up is that if someone attacks you then you have to shoot back in order to engage in a battle. This is a brilliant feature as it allows me to prepare for a malicious player's assault by equipping my power armor and my strongest one-shot weapon before the battle is initiated. I'm still undefeated in PVP which is a testament to my skill developed from years of hardcore gaming experience.

I've also heard complaints that there are alot of technical issues with this game but they are ALL lies. It is an absolute fact that Fallout 76's graphics are at least on par with other AAA games released this year. As for bugs I have yet to encounter a single one. I've seen videos where enemies are approaching the player in a "T-Pose" but what most people don't realize is that this is INTENTIONAL. The AI in this game is so advanced that the enemies will purposely enter a T-pose to distract players as they get in range for a lethal strike. Pretty genius design if you ask me. People complaining about the nonexistent "bugs" in this game are simply complaining that the game is too hard for them.

As for mods, the game doesn't need them. It is perfect the way it is. Without mods you are experiencing the game as Bethesda intended it after years of meticulous design and hard work. Again, those that are complaining about the lack of mods are really just complaining that the game is too hard and they need mods to play the game for them. Maybe its just me but I like a real challenge in my games.

    10/10 game, easily GOTY

Fallout 76 represents a big disappointment and the lowest point of the series so far. Riddled with bugs, repetitive and dull gameplay, nonexistent story and outdated graphics, it fails as a both multiplayer and singleplayer experience for fans and newcomers alike.

Miracles do happen once in a while and No Man’s Sky proved that sometimes it is possible to get back on your feet even after a terrible failure. Right now though Fallout 76 is botched spectacularly on so many levels that even talking about this game is a waste of time. [01/2019, p.46]

An unfinished game with bifurcated identity and in an almost dysfunctional state. It's hard to build on a bad base, that will never change. Like the war. [Issue#292]
