Great game itself but the PC version feels like a PS4 port. Takes zero advantage of keyboard/mouse or the raw power of a gaming PC. as an RPG it deserves a 10.

I made an account because I'm completely baffled by the large amount of negative reviews.

    Performance: 9/10

Yes, you will not get 100 fps or anything even close to that. In fact, you will reasonably get 30-60 fps from what I've seen. I'm getting a solid 45 fps at 1080p on a G1 970 at the highest possible settings. I've even down-sampled and played at 2160p with a solid 30 fps. I've had less than 5 crashes in 100 hours of play time and run into 0 game breaking bugs. Performance and graphics wise, there is nothing to complain about, unlike AC Unity.

    Gameplay/Controls: 7/10

It can be called clunky at times, but that by no means warrants a 0/10. The controls are very mmo-esque, which I have no problem with because I've played many mmos. For those who haven't, I can see where you are coming from.

Now, the tactical camera is actually very useful, especially for me because I'm playing on the hardest difficulty. In extremely challenging fights against things like dragons I literally pause the tactical camera every second to control my companions and select the best abilities to use. For some, this is terrible because they want brainless action. For others, it's welcomed because you can't mindlessly run in and wipe the floor with your enemies. Now, the tactical camera is not without flaws. As many have mentioned, the camera is too close and does not allow you to zoom out enough, but this is not game breaking. You can move the camera around, so it just takes more time and maneuvering. Also, the pathing system used when commanding characters to travel to a certain destination is terrible. The AI will not jump onto rocks and get to where you want them to go. This is also not game breaking, but it can get you killed a lot.

    Story: 8/10

I don't have confidence in my ability to analyze a story because I always hated English and disagreed with the "professional" and "formal" analysis. To me the story is good, not spectacular, or terrible. There are many cameos of past Dragon age characters and references to past events. It explores the Dragon age universe further than any other game has and adds a lot to the Dragon age universe, for that I am grateful.

I'm getting bored of writing this review, if I get a lot of users saying it was/wasn't helpful I'll add more, here's some numbers.

    Multiplayer: 7/10

    Characters: 8/10

    Fun Factor: 9/10

    Content-size: 11/10

Completing this game 100% would take a REALLY long time, so long that it's disheartening.

    Biggest disappointment: Multiplayer... just disappointing

Biggest surprise: Massive amount of content that doesn't feel like a grind... at least not as much of a grind as Destiny.

The main story is a bit lacking, i admit. But if that is the only reason you picked this game up then yeah, you will be disappointed. I'm 80 hrs in, and have done maybe a third of all the content. Truth be told, I don't want to complete all content this play through as I would like to make some different choices next time.

I played a female elf mage hoping to get down on some sweet girl on girl action in the romance scenes, unfortunately I went the straight route. Next time, I will play a male to see what Josephine is all about. The stories in this game are great. There is literally hours and hours and hours of dependent dialogue here. Verrick and Ironbull are great, I want to have a beer with them.

Graphic naysayers be damned, this game is beautiful and immersive.

Two big negatives: Not enough hot keys! I'm a mage, towards late game I ran out of hot keys for my spells, honestly that is VERY lame. The AI companion behaviors was dumbed down considerably from Origins. Personally, I would have liked a bit more options there, but I also get bored of all that **** so it wasn't a deal breaker for me like some more "hard core" players.

This game can be as challenging or as easy as you take it. I'm playing on hard and as long as I don't rush it, I'm finding the boss fights aren't overwhelming, ie, I COULD spend the whole fight(a couple of hours in some cases) in the lacking tactical mode getting my idiot companions to avoid the obvious fireballs, or I could just wander around and see what Thedas has to offer for another level or two.

    And you can't swim. wtf?!

Other than that, this game is beautiful, immersive, and reads like a B novel. If you were a fan of semi decent nerd fantasy novels as a teenager, the story will more than suffice. Get it

Dragon Age: Inquisition is riding on a lot of expectations. Many people had hoped this game would bring us back to the deep and complex gameplay seen in the original game, rather than the oversimplified hack-and-slash fest that was Dragon Age 2.

In many ways, Inquisition does capture many of the original game's "feel", but it also carries over an equal amount of gameplay mechanics from Dragon Age 2 that turned many people off. I suspect this is the primary reason why the scores have been so polarized: in a number of ways, Inquisition does feel like dressed-up, prettier looking version of Dragon Age 2, and for many people that is just disappointing.

The biggest complaint probably lies in the gameplay, which is best described as an attempt to merge the more traditional, old-school RPG gameplay found in Origins with the more action-oriented system seen in DA2, Unfortunately, the result ended up feeling far too similar to DA2, with only token considerations given to Origin's mechanics. For example, a tactical camera is available that allows you to pause the game and methodically issue orders to individual party members, which can sometimes be useful in longer or larger scale battles. However, due to the fact that the vast majority of skills available to your characters are spam-and-forget (there isn't even any healing abiltiies, instead, each character carry a limited number of potions that are automatically used when they are low on health and refilled when you return to camp), and the combat being generally fast-paced (that is to say, a chaotic smash fest), there's little reason to bother with strategic plays over simply spamming your skills until your enemy is dead. Character development is similarly limited, with the only benefit from leveling up being skill points that are used to learn a limited selection of skills or spells, and the ability to wear higher-level gear.

It's clear Inquisition's gameplay mechanic was designed with "keep it simple" in mind, most likely to keep it appealing to as many players as possible. Hardcore gamers hoping for an old-school gaming experience will probably feel unsatisfied and consider the gameplay "shallow".

Having said that, if you can look past these design decisions, there's still a relatively rich and interesting game here. Inquisition picks up the story where the previous games left off, and I personally enjoyed returning to the land and lore of Dragon Age, which feels just as unique and interesting as ever. Characters and party members you meet are generally interesting and it's always fun to see how they interact with one another during your outings. There are plenty of returning characters - from cameos to full on party members - to keep veterans happy as well. The story is well written and although it meanders a bit at certain points, it remains relatively engaging and entertaining.

When you are not fighting or talking to people, you're probably exploring the various areas of the world in large sprawling maps littered with side-quests. Yes, many of these are simple fetch quests, while others involve (ugh) collectibles, but these are generally well-placed so that you will find interesting vistas, landmarks, or other neat things to see as you travel from task to task, if you're into that sort of thing.

A quick word on hardware. I play the game on high settings with a GTX770 and have had absolutely no issues. Frame rates remained solid and I have never once experienced stutters or slowdowns. This game is clearly designed to be played with a gamepad though, which I quickly switched to after realizing a mouse+keyboard is simply unnecessary and cumbersome for a game like this.

At the end of the day, if you can look past what this game is not (a spiritual successor to Origins) and focus on what it does have to offer (a solid game with a rich cast of characters and interesting lore) you will likely enjoy Inquisition.

Heart: I loved this game, and I played it through twice, got platinum trophy, and clocked up something like 160 hours overall. It was a lot of fun. Probably the most I've that enjoyed a game since Skyrim. The world is beautiful, the characters are well written, the graphics are fine. Fans of the DragonAge mythology with enjoy developments and discoveries that are intriguing. Finally, the DragonAge Keep deserves a mention - an excellent way to personalise the game experience (even if it doesn't make that much difference in reality).

Brain: "Doesn't make that much difference" hits the nail on the head. This game masquerades as a choice-led rpg, but actually the way you play makes hardly any difference. I obviously noticed this a lot more in my second play through, and it was disappointing when the game progressed and ended exactly the same except for a few slides at the end. There's no way to steer the fate of the Chantry, or influence the events of the world, or the opinions of characters, or do anything of any importance except for the one (admittedly cleverly disguised) linear storyline. I didn't feel like the politically powerful, string-pulling leader I was supposed to be. Finally, the lack of any "evil" story-arc options was disappointing. You could be good-good, sarcastic-good', or grumpy-good.

In conclusion I'd give this an 8. It falls short of Origins, but it's a lot better than DA2, and despite it all I did really enjoy it and that's what gaming is about right? Just a shame they didn't push the boundaries with this one.

-Dull villain. (he feels only remarkable by the fact that he forced the Inquisition to be reborn.)
-Too much grinding side-quest that are not interesting, and doesnt even rewarding, in fact if you do them all, the game just becomes too easy on hardest setting after some time. But you are not forced to do all of them, you can skip 90% of them if its not your thing, i like them, but if they are not interesting, nor necessary, they feel kind of pointless.

If you have an Nvidia video card you should also brace for the crashing, which happens during every single cutscene. Don't worry about getting emotionally involved in the characters background, unless you want to watch their faces to freeze in the stupidest expressions over and over again. There is no guaranteed fix as of yet.

Other flaws: The hairstyles are ugly as sin, your character wears some seriously odd- and completely unchangeable- clothes during pretty much every important cut scene in the game, so long as it's at your base or during the ball. Also the success of certain buffs are pre-determined, so that little window saying you have an 80% chance of succeeding in enchantment? It's lying. Because determinism, or something.

Still, there is plenty to enjoy in DA:I. Some characters come back, and you get to see Hawke with the stupidest haircut in existence, and puffy chipmunk cheeks. It's oddly adorable. Varric's chest hair even makes a guest appearance! There are plenty of major and minor characters who you get to interact with in a meaningful way- some of whom you even get to kill. Also: there is goat throwing.

Gameplay and combat work with the emphasis on magic and trickery/tactics rather than straight forward hack and slash. In the past from the days of BG I have always preferred a warrior type role. However having played this game three times, I have to now say that I got more fun out of playing a mage or a rogue than a straightforward tank type character which I found a little tedious in single player. "Go Bash something" has limited appeal for me in this games combat.

The other issue is that with average game length of around 150 hours this game with all it's areas (open worlds?) is exhausting and presents endurance challenges (that is if you want to do everything outside the core quest) that are excessive in their demand. Also unlike DAO warriors and rogues do not have the flexibility to weapon switch in combat between melee and ranged attacks which I found a little irritating

Overall still a very rewarding experience provided you can stay the distance and interact with everyone but not, despite the huge effort put into this, as fulfilling, as DAO.

Y'know I didn't really want to kill the dragons as they were gorgeous, but I needed both the XP and the goodies so one does what one has to

To begin with, the character customization is decent, some races have limiting factors such as the elves must have tattoos and you cannot change the body shapes also there is not much diversity in the skins and they don’t seem to be in order as young to old skins so that made it quite confusing as well. The graphics are amazing right off the start, the story was compelling and kept me interested as it taught you to explore the controls. I’m more of a casual gamer so I didn’t delve much into the tactical camera, if at all, and the camera was a bit difficult to get around with at first but I managed to become used to it after a while.

It followed your basic RPG template with main missions and side missions. At times I found the side missions repetitive as most where to grind either money or experience, but the main story quests where extremely fun and I looked forward to those the most. The companions where varied and each offered different abilities that you could pick and choose to best suit your team. Some lacked compelling storylines and others where a bit cringe worthy in their actions, but somehow it added to their personalities, or lack of. The crafting and upgrade system was a bit awkward but the amount of other content the game included made up for those flaws. Things like the war table missions, judgment and the sky hold customization added to the tons of content this game has to offer. Overall I really enjoyed playing this game despite its imperfections and look forward to whatever else this franchise will bring in the future.

The game is a bit overly large with tons of pointless side quests, but it runs relatively well, has a good story, with extremely well written characters, a given with bioware, the problems mostly come because its trying to spread over too much but in the era of overly short games this should be rewarded instead of punished.

Played on nightmare, so the combat was pretty fun. 90% of times in tactical camera.

In short: this game is huge but lacks of depth. I started getting bored after around 50/60 hours. The main story is not that great and the side quests are not that special. The main problem is that everything is not so merged. I had this feeling of not continuity, where I was exploring places totally disconnected from the main story, but without a real goal. It's just exploration and it gets repetitive as every area has the same format (camps, rifts, etc.).

I had hard times feeling part of a group: the mages, or the elves, I could never really immerge myself in the world they created.
I can't give it a bad score, because as I said the game is huge and detailed and very good, but still it's not what I hoped.
I guess you can't make a wonderful game like DA:O that easily and both the 2nd and the 3rd dragon age fail to be as good as the 1st was.

Now, I’m compelled, like the story’s Inquisition in some respect, to give this game some justice and constructive criticism it well deserves... and attempt to offset the negative “fan” rating from the idiotic haters and metacritique lowlifes.

Concisely, this title reaches a new level of technical marvel in some areas and demonstrates mediocre design in others. Its areas of polish are very distinct, giving me the impression the developers were very concerned with its target audience. That target is ambiguous to me, in that I'm not quite sure what the game strives to be. Its tactical camera mode and AI functionality leave a lot to be desired at times. There is still a lot of new merit it offers in its RPG systems, as I love crafting, character creation, and the beatiful world design. I spent hours just shaping the face of my Inquisitor, exploring the vast, rich zones, and appreciating how much complexity goes into it all.

But let’s focus on the story because as it stands, its first predecessor established a very high precedent, and this title is still a bit shadowed by it. While it did have many enjoyable moments, I was still left feeling disappointed if I were to summarize it in a nutshell. The plot had its great moments, and I don’t feel like my time was wasted, as I always craved more codex entries and character backstory. But, nowadays, the story is the most important thing, and I just hope we can be faced with more immersion, more implications from our decisions, and some actual negative consequences in future titles to be called RPGs.

    Thank you Bioware.

From a fantastic story to a massive open world, this game ALMOST is exactly what I want out of a western RPG.

Dragon Age: Inquisition boasts some of the best visuals in the roleplaying genre, right up there with Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Right when the game starts, you are introduced to a fantastic beautiful world hand created by bioware's amazing art directors.

Gameplay for me is where the game is very strong. The combat feels very refined, the open world has a lot of dangerous areas to explore and dungeons to delve into. Although the side quests can get very monotonous at times and very grindy, overall the world is full of very fun things to do. Along with all of this however is a very good perk tree and some really cool character leveling systems for a whole party, the inventory is also organized very well and the UI feels very good but the PC controls feel sluggish and just very clunky. Tactical view is back but the camera feels a bit to close to characters but it is still nice to see it return and overall tactical view is very good in outdoor areas.

Story is really the most inconsistent part of this game and where it's really really good at some points, occasionally you won't feel as invested with the characters as much as Mass Effect and KOTOR. The story opens up incredibly however, putting you in the shoes of a person vilified by society for something that you did not do. Throughout the first part of the game, you are trying to build up the inquisition and trying to show groups like the Chantry, Mages and Templars how the inquisition can be trusted. Overall, the characters you meet such as Cassandra, Dorian, Varric and Solas are very memorable.

I have always thought that the whole Dragon Age franchise has always kind of paled in comparison to Bioware's other masterpieces such as KOTOR 1 and Mass Effect 2.

The Final Verdict is an 8/10

While Dragon Age: Inquisition has a decent amount of flaws, I am more than pleased with my purchase and time spent playing through the story. Some parts are amazing and some not so much.

Story-wise the ending was a disappointment, they built the final boss up as this really cool character, and he ended up feeling like unlucky Brian. But over-all, while some parts are quite cliched and feel super cheesy (Journey to Skyhold) I quite enjoyed the story and how it spanned out. I enjoyed being this at first insignificant character that builds up a mighty inquisition in order to bright balance to Thedas. (On that note, I do hope they ask the leading inquisitor, capable of toppling dragons and closing rifts to gather less cheese and letters on dead corpses in the next title)

My play through of this game is quite delayed and is thus on a title that has been patched multiple times, I feel as if many of the older reviews don't do good on the game due to being severely outdated in comparison to what the game is like now.

I very rarely encountered any bugs or difficulties with playing the game, and the one or two times that i did all it took was a reload and woila.

Some pro's and con's for those of simple minds like me:

    Pro's:
-I actually enjoy the combat, the more fluent and action'y combat of D2/D3 appeal to me just as much as the slower more tactical combat of Origins. (Although tactical feels pretty bad in D3, characters don't do what you ask them to)

-The scenery and graphics is absolutely stunning imo. Some of the places like the elven temples/dwarven old civilizations and burial grounds etc were so exciting to explore. The game looks amazing and feels amazing to traverse.

-The story of the inquisitor, it feels like a journey and I quite enjoyed it.

-Some of the sidemission for followers and other characters are extremely good. Solas, Blackwall, Varric etc all have very good backgrounds and I feel like they are explored excellently in this game.

-I love the followers/inner circle. There are so many good characters in this game. (And some that i HATE but are still good-well made characters, ahem, vivianne, ahem.) Excellent voice acting and really good writing on behalf of most of the cast. Dorian my homie, I loved having you along with Sera for some nice friendly banter in my journeys.

    Con's:

-Absolutely **** dreadful AI control of your party. AND the tactical camera/how the followers respond is horrendous. Half the time the followers will just be knee-jerking around doing absolutely nothing, and with how limited the controls are for the AI in Inquisition compared to Origins, it's no surprise that archers will walk into melee and stand there, tanks will walk around outside the fight etc etc. This is the one huge con that dropped this game from a 10 for me.

-Too many absolutely pointless quests and things to do. I get it, there should be collection content etc. But when a very large portion of every map/zone is to just hunk around gathering things it kind of kills the immersion of being an Inquisitor. It's fine to reduce mindless collectionism content and drop the game time by 10 hours, 90 hours is still A LOT OF TIME.

Overall it's absolutely a worthwhile title to play through, it's worth the money and it's worth the time. I just wish they would've paid a bit more attention to the technicalities of the followers and possibly more dialogue that altered the story.

i made this metacritic account for the sole purpose of trying to balance out these negative reviews. This isnt the best game ever, in my opinion DAO is better but its still a solid game and i dont think it deserves all this criticism.

Story - The game continues from the ending of Dragon age 2 and in here, you will be using a new protagonist called the Inquisitor which will be the leader of the independent group called the Inquisition in order to put order back in the southern part of Thedas and mainly to close the scar in the sky called the Breach. Overall, the game's storyline is as usual from a Bioware game, is awesome! The nice combination of political, emotional, war, loss, regret and many things has been put in perfect mix in the game. Add to that the new band of complicated and different new companions which in their own are all interesting in their own unique way. The main strenght of this game is the addition that one of your main characters in the game will make an appearance and you'll have an option to adjust their image. As well as you can put different world states which will change and impact your experience in the game. A score of 10/10 deserves this spot.

Gameplay - The fighting mechanic of this game is a mixture of two previous games, which has a tactical view for those who prefer DAO and those real time action for those who preferes DA2. It is properly executed and is better than the previous two games but imo, it is pretty obvious that DA2's mechanic is better suited than the other one in this game. As to the missions, i am dissapointed that 80% of the whole gameplay is only for those optional quests or sidequest while the other percentage is only alloted to the main quests. It is very short if you ignore everything and did a speedrun, in addition, the sidequests and you recruiting individuals doesnt necessarili impact the game nor the story, it would only give you some better perks and also new services you wiil find in your base of operations. It is nice though that you can color and customize the characters armors though. A fair score of 7/10

Graphics - As a game which was also released in the last gen consoles. It is one of those games which is significantly better in the next gen consoles in that regards it is prettier, better and more smooth. The environments are all pretty and have different feel in them like you have areas like a forest, then a snow covered land, a deset and other things like a stormy area or swampy places. Really, the environments are awesome. As to the character design however, in the design standpoint, i really liked all of their images, some are unrealistic while others look realistic. My main problem though is the cutscenes which sometimes have low framedrops and suddenly stutters for no reasons or gets delayed. Not really a big problem, but a problem nonetheless. A fair score of 8/10

Music and Sound - The music like the previous games are all good, I really loved that cutscene when everyone sang and the ending theme in the credits. The overall music gave you that epic feel the game wants you to feel. As to the voice acting, it i top notched! I really like the different accents of the characters esp Cassandra, ow that sexy voice of her (my character romance)....Therefore, a score of 9/10

    Average score - 8.50

The definitive GOTY of 2014 which recieved more than 100 awards and yeah, i really agree to this considering that there a re a lot of dissapointing titles that came out of 2014 and this was the one thing that didnt dissapoint. I loved how Bioware has listened to all criticism they recieved from DA2 and how they responded to it and made a better game. It is really better than DA2 by a mile wide but close to DAO for that best title in the series. I hope more improvements come from this epic series and more power to Bioware, the king of rpg games!

First, it is more open world which is nice but there are still plenty of in-game guides on advancing story lines so you don't completely wander.
Second, it has a cast of supporting characters that are individual and developed. They don't seem cliche or overly similar to one another.
Third, Bioware does very good work on story elements. Reading the codex entries and talking to people

Third, Bioware does very good work on story elements. Reading the codex entries and talking to people through all conversation points and of course main story collectively are so vast it is mind boggling. Not to mention the voice work.
Fourth, I do not have a comment on combat or crafting because I found no issues and I do not get an RPG to compare it to combat oriented games or games with very complex crafting elements (often strategy games are the best there).
Fifth, my Leliana is back and that alone would have gotten me to pre-order. She may still be in love with my DAO Warden but that just makes it all the better IMHO.
Sixth, it is not a flawless execution but I have been so generally happy with Bioware games that I see no problem in giving them slack on some minor shortcomings.
Seventh, you really should play this game after playing DAO and DA2 I think you get more invested than trying to learn the whole world of DA in one installment.

I see a lot of negativity for this game I found it very enjoyable it wasn't the best story ever but the game play was fun. It has some great moment but can be tedious in exploration. It is far better than DA2 which was just a let down.

More could have been done to motivate the player to take quests on in terms of story content. Still a great game though, just not a "perfect" one. It could use more branching paths and complexity. I was pretty shocked to see how negative these reviews are. It was not as good as Dragon Age Origins, but not deserving of such negative reviews.

The graphics were really great, and being open world meant that you had more freedom to explore such an attractive environment. The combat was also improved on from Dragon Age 2, as there is more tactical accessibility which can make boss fights and fights with dragons challenging and diverse. It also maintains its fun and exciting look as opposed to the dull look of Origins. Overall the combat is definitely a lot of fun.
The characters are also a positive for me. There are many diverse party members who are all very unique and interesting. Character interaction is also accessible which is something I sorely missed in Dragon Age 2. The approval system is also great as it fits that all your party members are very different characters, and having your choices impact how your companions view you was a very welcome addition to the game. It was also a lot of fun seeing characters from previous Dragon Age games and seeing how things have changed for them and what they are currently doing.
However, the storytelling is probably what lets this game down the most. The side quests are pointless, and it would have been good to have some more interesting side quests that are just more than a one off quest. I feel that as a result of the success of Skyrim, Dragon Age has tried to copy a lot of the elements of Skyrim which does not always fit in a game such as Dragon Age. There are times where the game drags on and really become tedious, which is a major reason why I only have one playthrough for this game.
The main story also is not perfect, resorting to quite a few cliches and uninteresting subplots. And the final battle was very disappointing as there was nothing really to distinguish it from a regular boss battle. Maybe I have been spoilt from the previous two Dragon Age games having such epic conclusions, but Inquisition's conclusion really fell flat. The interaction post final battle was an aspect I loved in Origins and it was disappointing how limited it was in Inquisition.
Overall this game had great characters and fun combat. But the story was really a let down. However, I still had a lot of fun with the game and would still recommend it to others.

The negative reviews are haters, and people who didn't even buy the game.

To sum it up--beautiful, plot rich and a Dragon Age game we like and we want. It connects back to the Origins and walks through the whole DA universe. Amazing what a job well done Bioware.

This is 100% a go-to game if you would like a traditional western RPG, and one would get you into the rich Dragon Age universe.

The cons would be the side missions and multiplayer. MP is pointless, so do side missions. They are just some notes tipped with some to-dos for you to fulfill. Waste of time and don't help the story at all. This one Bioware can learn from CD Project Red, how they tackle side missions. MP, not much to say. It's one of those shareholder or publisher compromises made to the development team, even though they wouldn't want one in a RPG game. And yes, EA did it anyways.

Dragon Age: Inquisition is every bit as compelling as its predecessors, and perhaps even more so. Originally I couldn't stand the new combat scheme, I felt the open world areas were overly large without much to do, and the characters weren't really grabbing me nor was the story. That all changed when I got further in. As you get more skills to play with combat becomes and exciting affair, I started over as a 2h sword warrior and immediately fell in love with all the combos and the feeling of raw power in my abilities. I didn't understand that there were skills you actually need to "hold down" like whirlwind or shield guard, and every class has access to a few.

The crafting system is robust and you'll find yourself scouring merchants for rare schematics to really boost your offensive, defensive or magical power. This is a pretty important part of the game because it can take you some time before you find the right gear for your character. Truly you can craft marvels well beyond the power of what you find in the game. But herein lies the one real issue I had with the game, the power creep is real, and before long content will seem trivial, even on the highest difficulty settings. The first Dragon I fought was a real challenge, but after crafting specialized weapons and armor I found them to be a mere chore.

The graphics are absolutely top notch, the open world is never repetitive and features no recycled terrain, every huge map has an astonishing level of detail and the world is full of story and lore. In terms of exploration no game has done this better, and everywhere you go you're presented with charming details and a myriad of side quests. For a long time I didn't think the game would ever end, and I didn't even buy any of the DLC.

The characters, their private motivations and your interactions with them through the story line are of course where this game really shines. There are many tough choices to make, many familiar faces from previous games, and your interactions with them have the subtlest effect on how the story unfolds. Bioware has a record of creating compelling stories and characters, and this game is a shining example of what they can do.

Reading over the negative reviews I get a sense people were unhappy with one or two aspects, sometimes because they were expecting something similar to what they came to know from previous games. Inquisition is a LOT different than the previous titles in many ways, but taken for itself it is a far superior experience than its predecessors. There are many details that made me fall in love with the game, one of the cool parts was the bard in the tavern who would sing songs about the current events in the story. I found myself stopping in just to listen for a moment. It was a minor part to me that stood out as such a wonderful touch, and the game is filled with little treasures such as these if you just stop once in awhile and let yourself appreciate them.

Besides the idiotic voice acting of the protagonist, which I think is maybe the worst I have ever encountered in a good game, I had a surprising enjoyable experience.
I don't know why I avoided this game for 5 years..I was not the biggest fan of the first one; I had a problem with the combat system, back then. Well...this one is a totally different soup; and worth my time.

Despite its flaws.. namely that it's too much of an MMO wannabee in some areas, I really enjoy this game.. the political intrigue, the story, the NPCs, the music, and the voice acting are all top notch. It's also a very pretty game.
