    Dragon age 2 meets Skyrim.
an almost-open world, dozens main and accessory quests, crafting, modding and a lot of lore.

Great game with a few small issues, has filled the gap from Skyrim fairly well. I would Recommend to all to give it a good go, and invest some time in it before rating it 0

What a great game, I really did enjoy my time with it. A very interesting story that keeps you intrigued and wanting to come back to it when you're not playing it.

Completed it in about 60 hours, with most side missions done in the first half of the game and none really touched with the second half due to being overleveled. So yes, game is a bit imbalanced in that part.

Characters are unique and very well done with great voice acting.

Economy is a fundamental part of any game in my mind and in terms of what you can buy and do with the money you acquire is astonishing, which gives you a reason to loot (and there is a lot in this game, I can say to you now, if you do not like looting I can practically guarantee this is not yur game)

I had a lot of problems with it to run in cutscenes with frequents CTD (I had to play the game in a **** graphical setup for it not to crash) and believe me it wasn't because my hardware was getting stressed, not with a i7 2600K overclocked and a GTX 780 6GB of vram. Cutscenes tended to chop and lag, but when it got to gameplay wise it was fine. So can't really comment graphics wise due to not be playing at full settings, although I can comment about the hair I know that was rubbish it looked worst than straw no matter if you run that 'thing' at max or not nothing is saving that.

Love the feeling of importance it gives you later on which I consider what it's all about in a progression based RPG.

Combat is mmo type, I was a mage (which fitted also around the story, strongly recommended) and didn't mind holding down buttons to cast spells although I can see it would maybe be worse by being a warrior/tank type.

They could of done more with the relevance of letting a character like you or not, even though you get it constantly on the bottom right of your screen e.g ''Cassandra disapproves'' , ''Vivienne slightly approves'' etc it doesn't really make any real changes to the game in any shape way or form, the only real thing it's really there for is for romancing someone, which, if you play as a heterosexual male I may add, you have a very limited number of people that'll be willing to romance you no matter if you get to their full approval or not! So major flaw there.

But apart from those issues and the most of the side missions being very dull and genreic, I really enjoyed my time with the game and I consider that it's not getting the credit it should be getting for the game it is.

Few expected bugs as any launch date, but graphics are amazing and game is fluid even on ultra, the environmental graphics are stunning, really congratulations on Bioware in this category.

About the story, I'll come back in the future, with not spoilers, but is cool to see your choices well reflected in any conversation I had so far

Is clear that they are trying to give Dragon Age an MMO open worldish feeling, maybe for the next sequels.... but too soon to afirm anything, but on Dragon Age wiki, Inquisition was already expected to be only multiplayer

The graphics aren't the best the PS4 has to offer, sure, but it still look gorgeous. The UI is so fluid I never even have to think about it during combat, the characters are well developed and interesting and the story, while nothing revolutionary, is very solid and can keep you interest.

However I will admit the first 10-14 hours of the game are essentially prep for the rest of the actual game, however I believe it is worth it. At first it doesn't seem like much but the deeper into the story you go the game only gets exponentially better.

The textures look as good as you would expect from a Dragon Age game, not the most amazing but still very pretty to work at. I find the gameplay on the PS4 smooth and enjoyable, especially the strategic view which gives a nice alternate option for those who prefer a less action-y RPG experience. The music is amazing and the characters are easily one of my favorite parts of the game.

However this game is definitely not for everybody. If you are really against cookie-cutter stories that have been dressed up, you may have some complaints. However I feel enough has been added to keep things interesting that it doesn't matter. I've played many an RPG and this is easily one of my favorites and definitely my favorite Dragon Age game.

After the abomination of dragon age 2, I was not expecting much from this game and I think that has helped me enjoy it more with the game constantly surprising me with its depth. I have played most game releases in 2014 and this is one of the few I've actually completed and not drifted away from in boredom or the lure of the next shiny new thing (yeah games are the squirrels of my life:). While I thoroughly enjoyed playing the game, it has a few annoying interface 'features' some the result of being designed with consoles in mind as a result the PC interface can be awkward at times. For example the tactical mode is poorly designed, add a Z axis damn you, I want to look up!. Oh and tool tips on the skill bar would be nice too. Expand

My favourite thing of all is the party banter. All of the characters have fully fleshed personalities and it's fun to hear them bicker or gang up on one another. And they are not nearly as annoying as characters in previous installments.
The game is almost perfect. Unfortunately, there are still a truck load of bugs, mostly minor, but annoying. Also, playing with mouse and keyboard is kinda uncomfortable, you are better off with a controller if you have one.

What a brilliant game! For me this Dragon Age iteration was by far the best game of the series and got so many things right versus its predecessors. If you enjoy action RPG's and have not played this game I'd recommend you give it a go.

    Pro's:

    - An interesting and never dull story / campaign to work through.
    - Great companions with a lot of personality and interesting side stories. For the 1st time in a long time when playing a game with multiple companions I varied my companions a lot through the game and enjoyed their banter and exploring the effect different builds had on their combat styles and usefulness in game.
    - Plenty of side quests to work through coupled with very solid back stories and lore.
    - Superb graphics with extremely well crafted and at times stunning environments (cudos to the artwork team!!).
    - Enjoyable fast-paced action rpg type combat that reminded me somewhat of the combat style of Kingdoms of Amalur (which is a good thing).

    Con's:

    - The repetitive 'go fetch 20 of this thing' quests quickly became tedious.
    - Crafting was great but I felt that 'finding' or accessing useful or high level crafting schematics was too restricted.

Areas for improvement for the next in the series:

    - Sending Leliana, Cullen and Josephine off on missions via the war table @ Skyhold was a great addition to the series. It was always fun to be able to discover or 'unlock' things via the war table.
That said Bioware could have made this a much better game feature by including some strategy elements - say for example by including 'risk' style gameplay where you could amass and move army units around to conquer and unlock regions or defeat opposing factions.

There are plenty of reviews out for DA:I so I won't add another. Reading the comments online, this game may not appeal to everyone. However, I personally think it is a brilliant game and made up for the shortcomings of Dragon Age 2. The ending felt a bit lackluster otherwise I'd give it a perfect score. My only complaint is that you can not play the campaign co-op. There are many reviews giving this game a 0. Simply look at any of those accounts and you will see they were made just to spam this site, they are not real reviews. People claiming bad graphics... total insanity. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I loved Dragon Age: Origins because of the story as well as the game play and many user customization options. I wasn't overly fond of the simplification of the fight menu In Dragon Age II (nor the lack of variation in graphics). In Dragon Age: Inquisition the fight menu is still rather simple, and the option to distribute attribute points has been removed. That's why I'm not giving it 10 points, because otherwise I rather like Dragon Age: Inquisiton. The atmosphere, the amazing graphics, the wonderful music and the many missions are spot on. I did need to adjust my graphics settings from Medium to High to enjoy the graphics fully and adjust the keyboard controls since I'm used to the mouse functions (which I only use for zooming in and out in Dragon Age Inquisiton, can't play with the mouse at all in this version). I like that you need to place one of the controlled characters on a fallen group member and hold down the F key untill the person is fully revived. It adds an extra edge to the fights. I also like that you can discover different items when using the V key and investigating the areas. Having only played 35 hours thus far, I can honestly say I have enjoyed Dragon Age: Inquisition so far. Well worth the wait in my opinion. Expand

Looking at the poisonous reviews left by some here I can't help but come to the same conclusion that we share that terrible disease of never being content and before we are able to carefully examine and feel out something we already crave for more and have no patience at all for anything that doesn't go the way we instantly desire it to be. Perhaps this is not the best place to debate thisLooking at the poisonous reviews left by some here I can't help but come to the same conclusion that we share that terrible disease of never being content and before we are able to carefully examine and feel out something we already crave for more and have no patience at all for anything that doesn't go the way we instantly desire it to be. Perhaps this is not the best place to debate this but it is so obvious in regards to this amazing product.
If given a bit of time and patience it just can not be ignored that the game is absolutely spectacular in every sense. It gives the player an enormous and absolutely gorgeous world to explore, exploration is rewarding as there is always something to be found, plenty of secrets in every corner. Very well developed characters, mesmerizing music, fluid combat, very good writing greatly emphasizing characters and atmosphere, incredible freedom, fulfilling character progression, absolutely tons of content in form of side quests, mini games, achievements that grant rewards that make sense to the game economy, fun smiting and upgrade system and overall great atmosphere and fun gameplay.

The only major shortcoming is perhaps the lousy PC controls and overall adjustment to PC - which is in fact completely lacking. It is clear that the developers were having a clear console approach while designing and did not care to adjust the game to PC users before release. This makes the controls a bit clunky and takes some patience to get used to. The in game menus are also lacking in the sense that they are designed for a non mouse / keyboard view and controls, somewhat similar to the same issue in Skyrim.

But seeing how much the game has to offer, how truly great was the vision of the developers in making a huge and involving fantasy world with tons of things to do, how rich beautiful and constantly alive the world feels, the issue with the pc version seems to diminish in light of those.
I truly can not understand how anyone could feel the game to be blend, boring and badly written. It is truly a mystery.

9/10 because of the lack of proper PC version adjustment.

If you simply want a 2014 version of Dragon Age: Origins with updated graphics, you may not like this game. The combat style is much flashier, and while the tactical mode is there, I'll be honest that I haven't used it as much as in DA:O.

The above also applies if you're looking for another Baldur's Gate. This simply isn't that, and isn't trying to be that. However, I love Baldur's Gate and still find this game amazing.

If you're looking for Dragon Age: Skyrim Edition, you may be disappointed as well. There are Skyrim-ish aspects in the game, but ultimately Dragon Age is much more narrative-driven that most Elder Scrolls games, so you cannot expect the same experience.

Ultimately what Dragon Age: Inquisition is, is an open-world Dragon Age: Origins-Elder Scrolls hybrid that lands somewhere in between. If you're simply a Dragon Age fan who cannot get enough of the lore and the world and are open to change in general mechanic (with some throwbacks to DA:O), then I would say go for it.

I will point out that on a top of the line rig other than the graphics card (GTX 580 graphics card) I am experiencing some performance issues from time to time when running on high. Especially in large cities/villages the framerate can take a bit of a dip. There are also some audio glitches here and there in cutscenes, where characters will suddenly sound like they're from an otherworldly dimension.

Overall, though, I haven't had any truly horrible issues, so I would say that if you have a decent rig, can't get enough Dragon Age, and am open to the idea of a different mechanic feel for DA games, then go for it.

**Do not let the HATERS trick you!** Ignore any 0-4 ratings, as any rational person will not consider giving this game a rating so low. Not to mention, most people have not played enough hours of this game to have the credibility to pass such judgment. That being said, here are the only issues I have with this game:

Not to mention, most people have not played enough hours of this game to have the credibility to pass such judgment. That being said, here are the only issues I have with this game:

PC: Look at minimum system requirements! You're going to have a rough time playing if your hardware isn't good! You wont even be able to get it running on a dual-core!

360: Graphics aren't too good, which makes sense. I was hoping for graphics to be more polished, but it's understandable considering how much graphics must be scaled down to run this on a previous generation console. Graphics are on par with Skyrim on 360, but if you're looking for a gem, you're going to be disappointed.

One/PS4: No complaints besides software issues with PS4. It happens people. Unless youre a software designer who thinks they could do a better job, let them work through the bugs. It happens with EVERY game.

Positives: This game brings the best of DA Origins and II without most of their negatives. It's open world, and not linear. Your character has great movement and its not blocky or clunky. It is more strategic than DA II, being a little less tactical than DA Origins. Just a little. I'd consider calling it a well-polished, updated DA Origins. There's so much more customization in the game than previous ones. You can customize the way you look, how gear looks, and modify weapons/armor. Combat is great. You have gap closers for melee and awesome animations for ranged characters. Auto attacks give it the feel of a hack and slash while still having tactical options. I've played well-through Skyrim, including all DLC's and this game's combat and exploration reigns supreme over the amount of utility I've gotten from playing Skyrim. It seems to have taken the positive aspects of Skyrim and improved upon it's weaknesses (combat, non-customizable armor). I loved Skyrim. I love this game even more.

Negatives: Release bugs. It's annoying, yes, but it's totally understandable. As a user, I understand things need to be polished on their end.
Graphics on 360. Theyre acceptable. I wish they had found a better option for graphics but things get complicated when trying to cover several platforms. If you have a One or PS4, get it. If you have a 360, it's definitely still worth the buy!! Just don't expect amazing graphics.
Issues on PC: There are a lot of issues with PC compatibility. Of course, it's my fault for not looking at minimum requirements. Look at your hardware!!!! It's your responsibility to verify if itll work on your rig! (i.e Why would you buy Netflix if you don't have access to the internet?)
Character interaction: It seems like your dialogue options don't have a lot of effect on the characters around you. You get notices of displeasure or pleasure with bad or good responses, but I've yet to see heavy repercussions of making a character hate me. Ofcourse, I'm nowhere near beating the game, so well see.

I'd say this game is one of the best RPG's I've played to date. I like rankings so if it helps make up your mind, heres where I'd put it on the ladder:

    1. SW KOTOR
    2. DA Inquisition (So far around 20+ hours)
    3. Skyrim
    4. ME 3
    5. DA Origins
    6. ME
    7. Witcher
8+. KOTOR 2, DA II, Elder Scroll series, ME II and so on.

Again, its a great game so far. Don't let the 0-4's fool you. This game is definitely not worth anywhere near that rating. The lowest rating I'd understand being given is maybe a 6 or 7 for 360 users or angry PC people who don't meet recommended hardware requirements. But then again, those people probably didn't put much time into the game warranting a reliable opinion.

Hope this review has helped! Happy hunting!

I felt the story was quite unique in it's own way, i felt BioWare has taken a step up after crashing and burning with their "failures" ME3 and DA2. I understand a lot of people did not very much enjoy DAI but be open minded and realise that the game comes with a lot of content and things to do I mean seriously i think that each enemy is unique and gives you a hell of an experience while in battle. And honestly everywhere you look there is a battle to be fought. combat is also sweet and sugar coated with fun, but that's my own opinion you are free to your own. I felt that each battle you would have to use your wit and cunning and hope that your strategy gets you through it. Some may argue that the camera is funky (even though its true) yet the issue can be ignored or even just wait it out i mean there has to be a patch at some point. The only concern i had were some visual bugs like if you look at an enemy a certain way some of their limbs would be missing (head, leg, arm, etc) or walking through walls. yet still can be waited out until a patch comes along. BUT HERE'S MY REVIEW ALL SHORT AND SWEET.

*Combat- Fluid, Fun, Beautiful, TACTICAL SCREEN IS AWESOME, and Challenging(if not higher the difficulty panzee)
*Characters- Life-like, Likeable, and always helping the story progress
*Graphics- IDK ABOUT YOUR GRAPHICS CARD, BUT MINE MADE THIS GAME LOOK BREATH TAKING
*World- Massive, Beautiful, Unique, and always something new around each corner (yet i felt like as if they were just huge corridors, but hey FU** IT MAN)
*Story-I honestly couldn't explain it was quite unique and i felt like i was deciding how it unfolded whole time 10/10 for story
*Controls- had to get used to it, but shortly got that hang of it and i enjoyed it very much

Yet this is all my own opinion take the information i displayed and register it the way you want, but hey you could always go out buy the game and see how you like it or watch gameplay or even better go be a fiend and play it at a friends house that owns the game. But hey i liked it you may too who knows
PS: STOP TRYING TO COMPARE IT TO ORIGINS. Inquisition may be part of the series, but it stands as it's own game too. You also have to realise that origins is origins if you want a game like origins GO PLAY ORIGINS. COMMON SENSE 101
    THANK YOU AND GAME ON!

Despite numerous shortcomings, the new BioWare project is undoubtedly worth your attention. One of the best RPGs of 2014.
