    Game is garbage. Full of an absolutely idiotic pushing of SJW agenda. For example there are like a LOT, a freaking LOT of woman soldiers and knights. Come on, we are speaking of supposedly middle ages and you put so much woman to soldier positions? Did you missed your history lecture? Do you realize that muscular and bone properties of different genders DO REALLY differ? And it is freakingGame is garbage. Full of an absolutely idiotic pushing of SJW agenda. And also being a woman... In middle ages... When woman had 8-12 children...
    Gay narrative is also idiotic - after few minutes in game you can start gay romance like whatever. And with whom - with your own head of army. This is an excelent example of garbage writing done to please "critics" just to check some marks of being "diverse".

    Visuals are OK just because I'm playing 6 years after the game was published and I can allow myself full ultra settings.

    Good things:
    1. Exceptional interaction with backstory - your decisions in previous games really affects world;
    2. Awesome deep lore (I can't say the storytelling is good, though);
    3. Decent graphic;
    4. Quality & design of visual content: statues, interiors, paintings;
    5. Many various types of locations (developers probably have listen to critic towards DA2);
    6. Charismatic and nefarious antagonist;
    7. You can judge your prisoners! I have waited for this feature to return since DAO:Awakening;
    8. There are interactions with environment for all types of classes - mage can create bridges, warrior can break the walls;
    9. Balanced choice of companions - we have 3 mages, 3 rogues and 3 warriors.

    Bad things:
    1. Stereotyped plot;
    2. Badly written and generally boring companions (with exceptional Cole and Solas);
    3. Bad romances. Seriously, even in DA2 romances were more exciting!
    4. Excruciatingly slow and boring combat;
    5. Huge empty spaces in all locations (ther reminded me of Mass Effect 1 - in a bad sense);
    6. Quests like "gather 30 flowers" - I would really like to look into eyes of man who thought smth like "yeah, it's great idea, players will enjoy this!"
    7. Bad design of locations - sometimes you have to go across half of the map to climb on a mountain, and no, you can't give your hero a target and click on it like "go there". Even in DA2 that was possible;
    8. Max level reached too fast.

    Overall it was not a bad game. Not complete disaster (like I thought it would be when I first saw it). But still Bioware can do much better then this.

    Review for the ultimate edition with all dlcs

    Pros

    1. Nice areas really scenic.
    2. semi interesting companions

    Cons

    1. Areas while nice are nightmare to navigate,i almost uninstalled in forbidden oasis

    2. game has that stupid consoley movement where you jump and move backwards or slide on rocks which is a nightmare when you want to climb somewhere

    3. Game has horses :D but no area to use the horses :DDDDDD not only that you wont use a horse since you need to constantly dismount to gather materials

    4. Party banter is non existent. Even varick is depressed. Varick from DAO 2 and varick from DAO 3 are tottaly different. Maybe bioware resurrected bartrand and had him play varick

    5. Atrocious combat system. really bad. really bad though

    6. game is small but they rectified this with huge difficult to navigate areas so its 5 mins questing 15 mins navigating to next quest

    7. Quests are mmo style and this game does give mmo vibes. Go there kill 5 come back or go there fetch that come back again rinse repeat

    8. This may top everything, you have potions and companions even use potions which is nice. But if you make bombs or any other class specific potion they never use them :DDDDDD so a rogue just stabs doesent use a grenade unless you do it yourself

    9. The game forces you to always have warrior-mage-rogue because there are areas in game where they are needed always.You cant have 2 warriors 2 mages

    10. No continuity between games. if you import save from 1st game to 2nd nothing happens.if you import this save now to game 3 also nothing happens and by nothing i mean you might get a mention here and there and nothing more

    11. Companions are ugly as FAQ

    12. Companions are gay. I have nothing with gay people but seriously shoving down my throat if i want to romance another same sex person constantly is getting annoying. Especially when i ve already started a romance with Cassandra

    13.The areas are so huge that the story gets broken down.By the time i finish x area i forget what i was set out to do in the first place

    14. The game dosent mention that you have to do certain quests in a timely manner,this means that if you do w quest xyz quests are failed in DAO 2 the game told you wrap up things we re moving

    15. in level up you dont get attribute points. you only get skills the same old skill from previous games.

    16. Problematic story. You go from nobody to leader because magic

    17.Did i mention horrible controls?Maybe with a controller things are ok but if i wanted to play with a controller on my pc i wouldn't have a pc,i would have a console....

    18. Boggles the mind how the FAQ did they manage to make such a mess of the equipment screen when in DAO 2 the menus and screens where so easily navigable. In this game bioware said "yo dawg we heard you like menus so we put menus in your menus so you can menu when you menu" atrocious menu screens have to click 15 times to do what you did with 2 clicks in the first 2 games

    19. Immersion ffs immersion. When one companion talks like shes from glascow and the other like she is from nantes in france immersion goes out the window. Its a fantasy game keep it like that. maybe in DAO 4 we will get a guy speaking like boris the slav stay cheeky briki ma friends

    20. The damn dialogue wheel,sometimes the answers arent what you think they are :/ thank god in this game this problem is not big but yeah
    21. the need to spam the v button to make sure you didnt miss anything from the tons of collectibles,unlike dao 2 where it was as a permanent option in settings 22.no option to buy bulk quantities of materials hence more spamming of buttons to get 50 silks or whatever else needed,its like this was their first rpg 23. The amount of times you get stuck in combat and cant interact with objects of interest is mind boggling, they dont play their games after they make them thats for sure otherwise this specific bug? is obvious from the first 30 mins of the game. What this means is when you get stuck in combat you start walking like a rogue in stealth painfully slowly which is infuriating 24. every single humanoid enemy from a knight to a wildman of the jungle has the exact same move set... just different skin... I could go on for hours but 5k limit, tldr Want a console action rpg game?this might do the trick, are you one of those pc rpg guys?Avoid this like the plague. It costs 40 euros too The bioware that made gems like baldur's gate and the first two mass effect games is no more. Move on people.As always disregard what the Critics say, game journos gave this game 80+, they must have played some other game

    - Inventory is messed up, but you will get used to it

    So overall I would rate this game 6/10. It can be fun to play if you don't mind doing many fetch quests and want to relax a little. But please don't expect something like Witcher 3.

    In the end I was able to enjoy it by experimenting with all the skills and leveling up a lot.

    I really wanted to like Dragon Age: Inquisition to be honest. I was so hyped for this game because I absolutely loved Dragon Age: Origins and was hoping that I would find more of the same in this game. The beginning seemed fairly promising, but the reason I stopped playing was because of the controls on PC. I've found that the controls get criticized a lot when reading other reviews, and I unfortunately have to concur. There is no way to really play this game in isometric mode, and controlling your party and characters otherwise seemed extremely unwieldy to me on PC. I didn't feel like playing it on a controller (I expect a PC game to be playable on keyboard and mouse) so I just moved onto the next game.

All the flaws of the first two games, combined, with none of the strengths -- and utter travesty of a game with largely zero redeeming flaws, considering that even the story will retcon previous decisions, and using the DA Keep to laboriously reconstruct your previous world state one decision at a time will leave you wishing you could have imported it directly. - commanding comrades is simpler than in previous DA games to that extend, its completly useless. your companions are just walkiing around and dying and you can not command them to stay behind or something. this is the biggest degression and thing i really really dont like.
    - Idk about other platforms, but character control is much more annoying that it was (with mouse and keyboard)
    - there is no option to SPRINT with your character, its so painful. and it should be implemented on such a big open areas.
    - jumping is poor implemented, you feel like a puppet in the theater when jumping, sigh.
    - enemy AI is poor as your companions AI.
    - The only one thing I really loved in Dragon Age 2 was dynamic melee combat. Here combat is less dynamic and worse than in DA2. Another degression.

    I could say that DA: inqusition is someting between DAO and DA2, but it is not.
    It's much worse than DAO and different than DA2.
    DA3 is just retarded child of DAO and DA2.

    If they are planning Dragon Age 4, they just should take everything from DAO and add dynamic combat from DA2 and it would be masterpiece.

    Well, the game looked promising at first, and after a few hours in, the world, the characters, the graphics, etc. are looks good, but the actual gameplay itself... they've made a REALLY simple battle mechanics. The good old tactical mechanism is completly gone (well, not completly, as there is an option for it, but it's 1) useless 2) needles). What you got instead, is an equally simple and bad 3rd person hack-and-slash solution, where all you have to do is keep pulling the trigger to attack and unleash your skills/spells, when they're refilled. That's it. No tactics, no skill based 3rd person action, it feels and plays like a mobile game, really.
    And although everything looks interesting, I'd love to explore the world (there seems to be a LOT to do), I'm just bored by this unchallanging combat and lame looting.
    Also, the levelling is too slow, and when you finally level up, all you get is ONE (1) skill point. Are you kidding me? Some FPS/non RPG games have more RPG elements than this game.

    Bottom line: I really wanted to love this game, as I loved DA:O and also DA2 (yes, it was more simple, but I still liked it), I wanted to play a good fantasy RPG, but this just feels like a mobile-like, single player MMO.

Very good system of maps and improvements of the Inquisition with its advisers and agents. Good design of the castle and the position of the heroes in it. Many houses, a garden and other improvements. This place really makes you fell like a hero and important character in that World. And it's beautiful by itself(Despite the fact that sometimes it is tiresome to constantly run from point to point in order to do something and/or talk with someone). Well-designed dialogs(texts themselves, jokes) as usual for games of that studio.
    Very... very interesting DLC's, especially the second. But they both were very beautiful in picture and very interesting in storytelling.
    (-)
    Novels are useless. No, really - just some homosexual characters, and not really cute other options. Mimic in that game generally limps on both legs.
    Magic "cool-down" is too big. If you do not have the ability or artifact accelerating it-you get stuck in it.
    Movements during battle are slow and viscous, you move like a snail, and it wildly infuriates me, all the declared action for me is extinguished by the fact that you are banally unable to dodge from an enemy.
    VERY SLOW notifications of missions, achievements and "notes". Everything you do like ending quest, beating dragon or else - You'll know about it only after ~15 seconds.
    Armor Signs with minuses are a slop decision - never used in game because all declared pathetic "for the force will have to pay for something" trite killed on the vine the opposite element. For example, for +50 to mana -100 mana recovery. It's just dumb.
    Miserable stump of tactics and character's behavior. And scale of view. Even with that stump tactics characters ignore it, stupidly rushing into a frontal attack. Even archers and magicians.
    Is this an RPG game? ...because there is no any choice of characteristics during level-up.
    No indication of the attitude of the characters towards you. Everything you have - some cute pictures like Tarot cards... Guess what they mean.
    You can call it my nitpicking but the loading window is too fast and without a button to start, as long as it has some interesting information to read.
    Crafted inventory, merchant's and craft's menu are heavy ind uncomfortable(but the idea of crafting system itself is good and give you free to realize any details of your armor or weapon).
    Fu**ing meta-phrases... Never in any game I didn't like this system, because very often these two or three words differ with what the hero says when you click on this words.
    Several times the game downloaded me right in the middle of the enemy re-spawn place. F**ck.
    Totally useless horses(they are slow, you can’t do any search or attack and get knocked down from the any first hit if you didn't throw expensive inquisition points on skill that only close that hole).
    A "Black store" as in the second part - dust in the eyes, nothing interesting to the level of how it is advertised by the gaming World. Marketing in its origin.
    The transfer of other characters to the active hero in group very slow and often buggy. Sometimes characters at all stood still during the battle... somewhere in another room. Oh yes! ...if you don't attack enemy it can make hundred circles around your group, because your group will not attack it. Oh yes! ...another thing with that system - enemy can make hundred circles around and in any block-post with your soldiers... even after you start to fight it. Genius work.
    One again about bugs - Every Dragon age game is full of it. And here you can find something like "Fire mark skill that doesn't respond for 3-4 times", "Agents that do not appear after using knowledge in dialogues", "Non-disappearing marks on the map after using them".
    What the hell with the reputation of the nobles in the Ball mission? And the same with approval or disapproval of your friends - The reaction time to time can be completely inadequately even in terms of game convention.
    An "Open World" with almost empty filling. A lot of grind, a lot of "bring-serve-go away" and only 2-3 missions with an interesting story.
    And the last and the most "tasty" - Dragon age is still a "game-bum". Kill the mini-boss, get weed and a pebble. A long quest with riddles has passed, get a third-rate belt with dubious characteristics. Killed a lot of enemies, passed a secret quest, well done ... get two or three of these gizmos. All games in this series do not motivate at all to search something or climb somewhere ...At all.
    .
    So in general I can say that this game has an incredibly beautiful picture, surroundings, music, an incredibly interesting plot and storytelling, dialogs and other information notes... and has incredibly miserable game-play and game-mechanics. And Despite all the disadvantages I still liked the game in general.

    Its semi open world structure reminds of Origins larger areas that we got to explore, but with much less linearity. The world is not leveled, meaning some areas may be extremely dangerous for you depending on your progress and sometimes it may be wise to simply come back later than try to press on. In my opinion this is the way go instead of skyrimesque leveled world where everything tries to keep on the player's level which oftentimes results in mediocre or below challenge (especially considering how hard it is to balance such scaling against different playstyles). The game areas are beautiful, have plenty of quests to do, items to collect, but you won't find DA2's overabundance of fetch quests.

    Crafting system is quite simple but nice - the power level of the items you create is determined by the materials you use, as well as various secondary stats and it's appearance. This system manages not only to make sense (to craft metal armor you need metal, obviously, leather for all the leather bits or cloth, depending on the schematic and design) but also provide you with lots of options when trying to make an armor set or a weapon for your specific needs. The only shortcoming of this system in my opinion is that if you don't like the look of the customizable armor (that on top of different crafting components supports various mods) you will be left with a limited amount of unique armors that are not as customizable and some of them can't be crafted. That said, there is a good amount of those and good variety. My only wish for this part of the game is to have more unique endgame armor sets that rival or even surpass crafted, because that would make getting those unique pieces oh so more special.

    Combat is very RPG like. It may be good or bad for you depending on what you are looking for. Party AI is competent, although I do miss the ability from Origins to set my own AI priorities in greater detail. That said AI does experience some issues with particular class subtrees, but it's not game breaking and chances are you will not notice it unless you try to play on nightmare difficulty without micro managing your party. That brings me to the next point - tactical mode is back and it's quite good. If you are into that kind of thing, you can totally use pause a lot to issue orders to the entirety of your party.

    Writing in my opinion is very good this time around and I thoroughly enjoyed the main story as well as companion and side quests. Dialogue trees are good, you have quite a bit of freedom in how you want to play your character.

    I'm purposefully omitting multiplayer from this review because in my opinion it's inconsequential to the game experience and should be viewed rather as a free spin off.

    I could keep going on about how much of an improvement Inquisition is over DA2, and how good it is on its own, but I want to cut this review short with just this recommendation: of you are an RPG fan or just enjoy a good story, pick this up and play.

    Story is interesting without the convoluted mess. Gameplay mechanics are simplified but I see this as a jump similar to the jump to Fallout 3 from 2.

    Good idea. Bad realization. Bugs in main quest (In Hushed Whispers can't collect 5/5 red lyrium shards), need reload previous saved game. Also very many collectibles that overload game. Bad battle control.
    Bioware bad job.

    The hollow shell of a good game. Slow, boring, single-player MMO. What a shame.

    Сюжет банален, но играть интересно, да и сам мир весьма красив на высоких ползунках так что 10

    i like DA and all.....good graphics, even now at the time of writing (2019), not all PR games can boast the same. Large locations, beautiful music, plot .... Passed all the parts with all the additions. For me, this series will always be the standard of quality

    The game, which is too overvalued, is an uninteresting boring plot, a large number of bugs, this game itself is of low quality. This game resembles the Chinese MMORPG. 2007 years. 0 10 from me I'll go play better Fallout 4 and Witcher 3 than in this ****

    DA: Inquisition plays like an offline MMO. As a big fan of previous games in the franchise I was baffled how boring and unimaginative this game is. While visually decent it has pretty poorly written characters, abysmal and intrusive UI design, average at best game play and its simply put boring.
    I could write an essay listing every little thing that was making me upset when playing but

    A clear indication that EA ruins everything it touches.

    First of all, this is not a Dragon Age game, it doesn't feel like it at all. The story is boring and dry. Only thing we hear all the time is "you are the chosen of andraste" "look at the cool mark on his hand" "inquisitor". this is a random guy/woman who got a weird mark on their hand and wants to bang people. I even prefer the gameplay from Dragon Age: Origins better than this one, it's stiff and weird. Dragon Age 2 improved on it alot, but while Inquisition tried to make it more action pact, that wasn't at all what it needed. The graphics in this game was quite good, but nothing special everyone just kinda looked the same for some reason and the expression weren't that good. All the romances and characters are boring except for Varric of course. Everyone is some whiney peasant, who needs your help for everything and oh lord the romances can get awkward. everyone is either gay or too weird. And why would anyone even bang some person who just jumped out of a portal claiming they say god or something like that. There is no origin or originality to the, main character. Just a boring and stale dude/chick. This game should have been writin better and had a longer development time. And the horses where really just (retarded) they ran so weird, that i didn't even use one through my playthrough. Boring and repetetive game overall Expand

    The PC version of this game is really let down by an absolutely terrible interface. It exists in an uncanny valley between the first two games in the series, where rather than having improved the controls it instead has made a clunky mashup hybrid.

    What has happened to you Bioware? EA? Must be?

    From the epic RPG story telling of Dragon Age Origins.
    A misstep in Dragon Age 2
    And a single player MMO in inquisition with a lack lustre story, poor game play and world.

    The experience gets even worse if you look back at the older catalogue

    RIP Bioware

    Besides the idiotic voice acting of the protagonist, which I think is maybe the worst I have ever encountered in a good game, I had a surprising enjoyable experience.
    I don't know why I avoided this game for 5 years..I was not the biggest fan of the first one; I had a problem with the combat system, back then. Well...this one is a totally different soup; and worth my time.

    One of the best RPG of all time. Even though there are some spots that could be improved just like any other game it's still a masterpiece unlike many try to say about Dragon Age Origins.

    The masters over at Bioware have done it again. This epic journey into the world of Thedas will steal more than 100 hours of your time, hours so full of superb gaming that you'll never forget them.

    Despite numerous shortcomings, the new BioWare project is undoubtedly worth your attention. One of the best RPGs of 2014.
