    I'm a Diablo fan. Played hundreds if not thousand of hours on D2 and D2R. Grinded D3 when it came out, in spite of the Auction House. Diablo Immortal is fun, it's an engaging game but it's absolutely unforgivable in its highly predatory monetization. And it's not about spending money in-game, I understand nothing is free: people developed the game and it shouldn't be free in the firstI'm a Diablo fan. Diablo Immortal is fun, it's an engaging game but it's absolutely unforgivable in its highly predatory monetization. And it's not about spending money in-game, I understand nothing is free: people developed the game and it shouldn't be free in the first place. So please let us buy the goddam game once and enjoy it rather than trying to milk hundreds of $ from players 1 buck at a time by forcing us to have our credit card at hand next to your mouse.

    It starts very sneakily "oh you completed this dungeon, here for $0.99 you can have some extra loot". Then the next dungeon is $2, then 5, etc... Then new options that show up only once you reach a certain level, with even more micro-transactions, then even more locked functionalities if you don't pay like selling your jewels. It's insidious, predatory, immoral, and encourages actual gambling with real money. All of this is marketed to young players as well.

    So yes, in spite of feeling like semi "D3.5" on an admittedly great mobile UI, it's a game that is absolutely unforgivable. Blizzard/Activision should be ashamed of themselves. This is Martin Shkrelli's levels of shadiness and completely criminal.    … Expand

    This game was designed simply to take your money. It's pay to win. It's nothing more than a slot machine. Spending money is a gamble as chances of getting anything good is slim to none.(They want you to spend more!) They use every psychological plea in the book to try and make you spend money. This is not the Diablo we know. Money; the root of all evil.

    Cheap game, very low quality, the clicking interaction sometimes doesn't work be it for portal transition between maps or getting items on the ground, constant crashing, broken quests, the unstuck button have a timer to be used in a broken game where you need to unstuck more than once every 10 minutes

    The game at the very beginning was fun, even tough it's a 1:1 mobile PC port, so the actual playability is kinda garbage compared with Diablo 3. And that isn't the major problem at all.
    Played 8 hours, which 3 hours doing coop raid trying to farm gems. In that 3 hours of farming I had got 1 legendary gem.

    I played every Blizz game since the last 20 years and this is by far the worst game they made :/
    and btw. if you dont pay you not only dont win but you loose infinite time by grinding forever for things you need that costs like 1 Dollar in the shop.

    800% Value **** and prices of orbs are calculated to not buy **** 1 legendary Crest is 160 Orbs and for 5 Euro you get 315 Orbs
    Real P2W aspects are hidden until later
    you can buy gems in the shop for 25+ for the full bundle plan 100+
    Caps on everything for F2P
    PVP is nice if you like to get **** on by Whales
    There are way to many currencies where most of them arent even available for F2P
    -Gold: mostly useless is everywhere
    -Hilt: for a special vendor got from battlepass
    -Eternal Orbs: MTX only
    -Battle Points: Battle Pass points capped per week can be bought with Orbs
    -Platinum: Mostly MTX only used for Market
    -Scrap Material: just mats
    -Enchanted Dust: mats for primary armors
    -Glowing Shard: legendary mats
    -Enigmatic Crystal: mats for secondary armor
    -Reforge Stone: reforge gear later
    -special reforge stones 6 different types only for 100 Orbs
    -Echo Crystal: Upgrade normal gems for 500 Platinum
    -Awakened Echo: Material for resonance 1000 Orbs=25 Euro MTX Only
    -Gem Fragments: leg gems upgrade material
    -Fading Embers: Capped Material for Crafting gems
    -Aspirants Key: Used to open chests in the sanctuary
    -Scoria: only Used to reforge into better scoria
    -Refined Scoria: Used to upgrade Reliquarium
    -Rare Crests: Poor people crests 5% gem drop chance for 1/2 star capped per day
    -Legendary Crests: capped on 1 per month for F2p infinte with money

    -Multiple Runes, Only Ati and Fa are important and Fa are capped each week around 21 different

    -Culling Stones: Got from Aspirant Keys to upgrade the symbols in the Sanctum
    -Sigil of Dominance: Used to upgrade Clan to immortal faction
    -Monster Essence: to fill out the bestiary

    If you are in risk of paying all you have for mobile games dont play it, even with great resolve it can be hard to not spend hard cash since most aspects are kept behind a paywall like Gem Resonance. So all the P2W defender just didnt play long enough tto get offered all the really costy aspects of the game, some upgrades cant be made without paying even if you grind for 72 years. Even with spending 14k NZ dollar you dont get a 5 star gem. I can only recommend this game if you have around 200k-500k dollars/euro whatever to spend for trash or if you dont spent a single dollar and play it once for the story or to say hi to dekkard cain. A week ago i would have given immortal a 4 maybe until i reached lvl 60 with my char and entered Hell1 the first time completly free to play but now with seeing so many resources i cant get without paying, you cant even sell the gems from rare/legendary crests if they arent stacked to 10 per run or eternal leg crests so there is no way to just sell the gems you get for free to save up for a good one. A 0 it is, the sad thing is the whole Mobile market is like this crap and since petitions and boycotts dont work if a whale like Megashield pays 108k so far. What we need is a politics change like Belgium and Netherlands to protect people from this predatory way of making money of weak minded people or millionares that seem to pay into these games instead of just burning the money directly.    … Expand

    The many currencies and systems act as a smokescreen for the obvious conceit: Blizzard wants you to dump hundreds of dollars into premium currencies to even get decently-powerful. If you want to maximize your potential - like you could in all previous games for the $60 base price - you're expected to spend thousands. Tens of thousands. On each character.

    The classes and skills are mainly just copied from Diablo 3, which I've already played on PC and console. That fact alone makes it disappointing. But adding an extreme MTX system on top of that is absurd. If they released this game and focused on selling cosmetics and maybe minor loot chests, it would have been decent. This model is just an insult to Diablo fans.

    Toxic game monetization for a game that already has a non engaging, repetitive and boring game design. The story is small and overall meh, the graphics look alright for mobile game, Not PC. Just run around and spam 3 buttons without thinking for a small dose of dopamine when you get good loot, that is if you spend money.

    Expect more of a Diablo 3 experience (read: inferior Diablo 1 & Diablo 2 knockoff) but now with copious amounts of in-your-face predatory monetization and actual "lose to the other guy because he paid more real money dollars than you did" endgame. This one is a big Yikes from me.

    As a mobile game, if we were in a no microtransaction or P2W realm, it would be the first game I would be ready to pay full AAA concole/PC game price. I would gladly pay 60€ (maybe even more). without the monetizing crap, this game would be pretty good.

    NOW, the microtransactions and P2W mechanics are just predatory in this game. As many more have already explained, endgame content is basically hidden behind paywalls. Yes, plural. Not only that, it is constructed in a way that, if you payed for anything, the game compels to pay for more things so the money you invested is not wasted (as if it wasn't already).

    One example: you have a free battlepass that gives you some useful items if you play enough. You can pay for a "Empowered Battle Pass" for 5€ that gives you better stuff (in addition to what you get from the free one), including 1 cosmetic at rank 1 and another at rank 40. NOW HERE IS THE DEAL: first few levels, you progress at an acceptable rate, but the more you progress, the more you have to play to progress. And guess what? If you feel you are not making rank 40 before the end of the season, you can just pay to rank up.

    This is just 1 example of how predatory this game is.

    I'm not crazy about microtransactions for things like skins and cosmetics and I have absolutly no problem with P2W in single player games where stupid people who just want to rush trough it. But P2W in multiplayer games should absolutely be illegal. And I'm not even talking about the loot box mechanics in this game... No wonder this game is already illegal in Belgium and The Netherlands.

    As a massive Diablo fan, I'm pretty sure this is the beginning of the end for this franchise.    … Expand

    But that's why the end game is all about the leaderboards, and clan wars, and made the whole game a competition instead of the lovely pve grind that it used to be. To feed into the idea that we need to pay. And keep paying. And keep paying. Then they added caps on everything else, so you CANT farm your way to victory in any realistic amount of time.

    Blizzard is a shadow of what it used to be. I'm quitting this dumb money hole of a "game," and may never look at another Blizzard game the same way again. Fking dbags abusing their fanbase like this...    … Expand

    Yes, I've used to pay for premium games. Sometimes I've used to pay a lot. Forza H5 Premium costs me 100 bux. Alright! But I've paid and I have all the content.

    This piece of a garbage of a game softly forces me to pay almost for every action. Absolute Pay2Win manipulative monetization system. Worst game ever. EVER.

    Pay to win so hard that it is literally toxic to gamers and should be banned. Just about the most predatory microtransactions you can have.

    As far as functionality. It's buggy as hell. It says the PC client is still in beta stages but even at that it feels like literally no testing was done.

    On top of being required to spend upwards of $100k+ (yes, $100,000 dollars) there are hidden anti-grind limitation mechanics for free-to-play    Blizzard had a golden opportunity to release a game that stood out amongst the crowd - with the mobile APRG scene lacking a true AAA competitor it is such a shame to see how utterly greedy and aggressive the monetisation is within the game.

    On top of being required to spend upwards of $100k+ (yes, $100,000 dollars) there are hidden anti-grind limitation mechanics for free-to-play players. It has been mathematically worked out that purchasing 1 Legendary Crest will save you 4-6 months of free-to-play grinding. Continuing this path of aggressive monetisation, the bonus packs host an arbitrary value % that is a psychological trick to get you to purchase it whilst actually not retaining any true value to what it advertises.

    Whilst the gameplay may be interesting, the aggressive monetisation absolutely overshadows any of the good development work that went into this game. You have to manage 8+ trees of goals, 3 of them for PvP and 3 of them for power progression whilst maintaining what each of the 21 currencies needed for upgrading will do to help you gain power.

    Overall, this game remains to be one of the most predatory games I've seen within the mobile market to-date, even superseding the greediness of other AAA mobile games. It would have been well-received if the game was purely cosmetic in nature and had more cosmetic based items for the business to incorporate microtransactions into such as:
    - Pets
    - Banners
    - Capes / Wings
    - Glowy effects for your character's animations.
    - Player Housing

    I hope a true ARPG comes around and takes the throne as this certainly misses the point.    … Expand

    I wanted to kill hellspawn, but ended up loosing interest due to getting tricked into buying items that only gave me the posibility to buy the needed items down the line. If I decide to not pay I loose the reason for buying    I figured I would buy the season pass to support the game as I found it to be awsome.

    Game made from reused assets, no compelling storyline and uses so many psychological tactics to make you spend more and more money, you could believe the game was designed by a psychology institution, the fact that you can literally spend tens of thousands and receive next to no progression is downright criminal and makes me frightened for the future of gaming.

    What is happening to blizzard and their games? I have been playing the Diablo series since D1 and now this monstrosity of a game? What a shame to see this to my favorite ip.. The game is fun to a certain degree, but you cannot experience the most without paying real money.

    Just dont BUY ANYTHING, let them rot without any cash

    Played the game until about level 45 where I hit a game breaking bug that made it impossible to progress (the part where you are using two wheels to lift a cage from a chest).

    Other than that: * Story follows the shattering of the Worldstone in Diablo II: Lord of Destruction and is OK-ish.     * Encountered many other crashes, slowdowns, etc.
    * UI is ported from mobile poorly - it's buggy and breaks often, often with empty or corrupted screens, quests with no content in your quest list, etc.
    * Combat is broken because the input is made for fat fingers and phones - try to position your character in a fight using the mouse. You end up clicking one of the many enemies on screen and you attack instead of move. This killed me many times in boss fights.
    * Overall feels unfinished and I bet the longer you play, the more broken it is.
    * Game runs at some godawful low resolution and looks bad on my big 4k screen. There's no point to the cosmetics when it looks like something from 2005.
    * Music and sound are good. The only thing that could get a + point from me, if it weren't for:
    * The monetization ... we all know about the monetization here. It's whaling time! Not. I paid nothing for this and urge everyone to stay away. It's deceptive, exploitative and made to ruin you.

    If this game was something you can buy for $25, I'd give it a 7/10 and play through the story - it's still the Diablo IP and I've been following that since its inception.    … Expand

    As a fan from an early age (warcraft 1 and 2, diablo 1, 2, starcrcraft, wow...and so on) I look with sadness and disappointment what you have done with this company...maybe you made money with this game(now), but for sure you lost fan...and i think a lot of them.

    Nothing new from the gameplay perspective for a Diablo game. No skill tree, just a selection of 4 skills amongst 10ish. The combat is not very challenging.
    * Endgame content is just grinding the same 3 variations of zones over and over.

    Diablo Immortal is a simplified and more accessible version of the series that can still provide hours of mindless fun and entertainment. Sadly, the games suffers in the long run because of all the tedious grinding and the greedy monetization system, making a game experience that starts as very enjoyable much less so as time goes on.

    Diablo Immortal seems like a project created with the sole purpose of using the good name of Diablo to rub the players of their money. Definitely one of the worst games ever came out of Blizzard.
