    You know, I have been a Diablo fan all my life. But this, this is the breaking point for me. This should not be allowed and you should not be able to buy your way out. Im not telling you what to do, well I am for the first and last time. Do not play this game, do not support them in anyway. They are testing how far they can push it, do not let them. Its a bad pc port and a typical mobile game

    I cannot believe how low Blizzard would stoop to get some cash from us. I know P2W models on mobile are not new, by any means, but this is something special. They took the best part of Diablo games, which was being able to do any content solo and now force you to play with others in their "MMO" experience. The fact that I am not able to grind dungeons at higher difficulties without beingI cannot believe how low Blizzard would stoop to get some cash from us.     Never before did I believe I'd end up writing a review for something, but this game(If you can even call it that, as it seems to be merely a gambling scheme) literally calls for it. Shame on you Blizzard.

    I gave the game a chance and even spent some money on it. $25 USD, read some reviews, watched some how-to's and reviews to see what to expect from the store and how it affects gameplay. I reached levels 37-38 and noticed a major hurdle and extended the grind to level. This was also shadowed by a quick cash shop upgrade to gems and legendary to get you over the hump.     after getting a VPN to play this, as blizzard suggests themselves. ( its banned in my country), it shows how lazy they where porting this to pc with zero adjustment. This is a pure cashgrab ported to pc only to increase the MTS sales, nothing more.

    Slot machine (as it’s not a game at all) has no redeeming qualities. It’s only goal is to liberate the dollars from your wallet. Blizzard has sunk to the level of EA.

    Actually, I just insulted slot machines. At least with those one armed bandits, you have a remote chance of getting a cash jackpot.

    Game itself would be good, graphic, direct gameplay, voice acting all great, cross-platform is smooth... except for the egregiously aggressive monetization, psychological manipulation being intentionally used on players.     Diablo is a game BASED around fair play and RMT is frowned upon like the plague.

    I don't see how paying for advantages that lead you to earning better gear (i.e. better drop rates) is any different than RMT.

    Loot and materials should only be acquired through gameplay in Diablo, not through micro-transactions.

    Diablo Immortal is not a bad game, for a mobile game, but Blizzard totally ruined it by making it the most expensive, greedy P2W games ever. Blizzards reputation was already bad, and it is obvious they don't care and it it is all about making as much money as possible and screw all the players. It is disgusting what the company has become.

    The game is unplayable. It has the worst monetization I have ever seen. There is no chance to be even slightly competitive without throwing hundreds of dollars at it. You are far better off playing The older Diablo games or Path of Exile. This game is almost identical to Diablo 3 anyway.

    There's just no point of this in which I would happily recommend it. It needs a complete overhaul in the monetization department to where there is no bonus to it in a landslide.     This is not a game. It's just donate-trash. Don't play this. No kidding. They took Diablo 3, removed everything that was too complicated for people over 4 years old and attached the need for monetization for PvP. No fundamentally new ideas, no fun like in the old days.

    The only plus is that the girls here are pretty, not as ugly as in the remake.

    This could have been a fun game. But in this state it is plain and simple an evil attempt to squeeze money out of its player. This is the final nail in the coffin of Blizzard as it used to be. I really hope Blizzard chokes on the money it greeds out of this game.

    I think they literally just put the mobile game on PC with the same UI.
    And it's pretty hard to play the game if you've played other Diablo games, all the controls are all different.

    The game is absolute trash. Copy-pasted old D3 content from 10+ years ago with an added cash shop + p2w elements. Its like they spent 5 years making a cash shop.

    Gameplay is horrible aswell beyond initial leveling with autoscaling of mobs. So when your character increases in power. so does the mobs.

I wanted to have a new, novel, and portable Diablo experience.

    I would have happily eaten my words if Blizzard had proved me wrong. But this was not to be. I would have expected this from a shovelware studio. More akin to a bad reskinned asset flip job. Go look up NetEase's previous title: "Endless of God". Wyatt said 'built from the ground up'. That was apparently not exactly 100% honest. The voiceovers are done well. The story is solidly good Blizzard-quality work. The look and feel of the universe is definitely DII or DIII astethics.

    But that's where the positive ends. Crappy UI/UX. Garbage navigation system. The MMO aspect feels tacked on and doesn't serve the greater game in any useful way. And the obvious elephant in the room: not-so-micro microtransactions. This alone should be enough to shelve the game for good. I don't mind paying for a game. It's not cheap to run a studio of that size. Assets are expensive. Voice work is time consuming. High quality graphics don't come from shutterstock. I completely expect to pay for the experience. 50? 60? 70? 80? Sure. Come up with a fair number. And then sell me a feature complete game. But this whale hunting nonsense* should be the domain of naked cash grabs from crappy mobile games. Netease, for sure. But not Acti/Blizz. (*the strongest word I can use here)

    I used to root for Blizzard. They were what you expected from a quality, professional, AAA studio. Now I'm rooting for their collapse. Hopefully someone else better qualified to do the job can buy the IP and pick up the mantle.    … Expand

    After reaching the endgame and experiencing what this game has to offer, I can honestly say that this could have been a decent diablo. But with pvp being such a prevalent aspect, the incredible advantage of the pay to win is directly in your face. It has created an experience that just feels bad. Would not recommend.

    I played through the entire campaign in about 15 hours. Most of the game story is very bland and uninteresting. I was way more interested in Diablo 2, and 3 stories Combat feels good on mobile, but often I had bugs with pathing. Diablo games tend to be more about grinding and endless power progression. In this game, once you finish the campaign there are leaderboards and the same gameplayI played through the entire campaign in about 15 hours. Most of the game story is very bland and uninteresting. I was way more interested in Diablo 2, and 3 stories Combat feels good on mobile, but often I had bugs with pathing. Diablo games tend to be more about grinding and endless power progression. In this game, once you finish the campaign there are leaderboards and the same gameplay end game things to do as diablo 3 - elder rifts, challenge rifts, bounties, paragon, etc. Most systems are completely gated behind server-wide caps. So no matter how much you try you can never get ahead of other players. The main plague of this game is monetization. All power progression past a certain point requires you to use your wallet.     The P2W in the game is incredible, deceptive, predatory and shameless. The game has 24 different progression currencies. Uses the same rehashed tilesets from D3, has a ridiculous grindy endgame, the game is a complete waste of time. No wonder it took 4 years to develop, Blizzard and Netease were busy developing methods to obfuscate the game and avoid lootbox laws.     1. Absurd microtransactions everywhere. Windows with the information "you beat the rat! As a reward you have unlocked a unique opportunity to buy x".
    Because, as we know, the ability to buy anything from Blizzard is the most valuable reward.

    3. Avatars often do not listen to the player's commands - they go wherever they want, even though we direct them elsewhere.
    4. Sometimes, during a fight, you cannot attack for several minutes and the only thing you can actually do is run around the enemies and wait for the attack to start working again.
    5. Sometimes skills don't work, no matter if they are charged.
    6. It keeps losing the controller (tested on several controllers and a few phones and on pc - on pc the problem seems to be the most frequent and invasive)
    7. Often it is impossible to use the services of a blacksmith - the window simply does not open. And when it opens, it shows strange letters and numbers. Still useless.
    8. Equipment cannot be dragged between windows - unintuitive and annoying.

    Additionally - FUN FACT;
    Only a few days AFTER the premiere and after the first reviews appeared on the Internet, the developers added information during the launch screen that the game is in beta stage.

You are constantly being redirected to the cash shop, every dungeon you can pay to get better loot.     In immortal you have to do Quests (why?) and scan every sub window of the game for some hidden xp "rewards" (again why?), you're progress is slowed down if you are ahead of the server progress (why?) - implement a catch up mechanic not a slow down mechanic if its so important.

    Penalties - Bad
    Rewards - Good
    Rewards hidden behind a Pay-wall - Very Bad

    To sum it up, Immortal is not worth of carrying the Name and the Spirit of a DIABLO GAME.    … Expand

    Its a fun game to play even on PC. The downside is the MTX that they push you into to overcome the "humps". If you spend a little money the difference is very noticeable. It would take years to overcome what MTX can get you almost instantly. I enjoy the game but the higher you go the worse it gets. There are lots of bugs making it hard to play at times.     Before writing this review I wanted to make sure I understood the game in and out. I played for the entire leveling process (level 1 to level 60), and a few days of end game. I even bought the battle pass (with google rewards) to see how much $5 a month will get you as an active player. I have engaged with most of the game’s mechanics (besides top level guild stuff), and I think that I have a good handle of my thoughts on the game.

    I’ll start this review off positively (but please don’t assume it’s all positive) with the fact that the game is fun. I played a wizard and tried out a few different builds with my favorite being the lazer crystal build. It’s a blast summoning a crystal and shooting my lasers into it to then have them hit EVERY enemy on screen. Even in PvP this build is super fun to pilot and even snagged me MVP in a match. The main reason I played the game long enough to make this review is because it is fun to play. I saved all my crests during the leveling process for when I hit max level, and when I did I popped them all. This is when my view of the game changes drastically.

    When I finished the main story and hit level 60 I had 24 rare crests and 3 legendary crests. This allowed me to do 8 rare runs and 1 legendary run since each rift takes 3 crests (I’ve seen some people use 10 per run, but I couldn’t find out how). In total from the rare runs I got one 1 star legendary gem, and from the legendary run I got two 2 star legendary gems, and one two star legendary gem that could max out at 5 stars. Essentially the gems I got were pretty trash since a 5 out of 5 star gem is the best. Now this would be fine besides the fact that the rare crest gets you basically nothing, and the legendary crest are far from common. The only reliable way to get legendary crests is to buy them. Until I spend money there is very little for me to do besides the daily grind, and weekly battle pass points grind. Those two grinds will result in a barely noticeable power increase, and eventually once I gain all my legendary gear, nothing at all.

    This was not surprising however since the game hints at how money hungry it is. Every time you complete a new dungeon during the main story the game will offer a one time purchase bundle. These bundles start cheap and they claim to be high value, but as you get further they start to get more expensive and give less. Though the values they claim they have are all completely made up since they all have a skin included in them. These skins are what the game considers to have all the value. All these bundles are trying to do is to get players to make that first purchase, and once a player spends for the first time it is easier to get them to make a second. Even with the $5 battle pass (there is a more expensive one) I didn’t really see much of a difference. I managed to get a couple low star gems, and some materials for gear enhancement. There are even more places to spend money than what I said so far. Item rewards for every 5 levels, additional bundles, battle pass levels, monthly subscription, skins, additional currency, so on and so on. Oh and every purchase affects only ONE character.

    At this point I think my time with Diablo Immortal is done. I play mobile games as a F2P player outside of spending Google Rewards, and this game is definitely not F2P friendly after level 60. I would suggest that players avoid this game, but if you do play just stop at level 60. If you are really craving some Diablo gameplay just go play Diablo 3. Even with its great gameplay I have to give Diablo Immortal a 2 out of 10 because of its monetization.    … Expand

    I'm amazed that blizzard haven't learned their lesson from the Diablo 3 auction house debacle. This game is a sick joke. So much emphasis on pay to win, it's a mockery of the blizzard entertainment of its heyday. I give it 1/10 because it actually visually looks ok for a mobile game but style over substance doesn't fool me.

    BUGS - Can't really play due to some bug that often prevents me to use any of my abilities, leaving me to die. (I press buttons, nothing happens)
    P2WIN - Pay to win, you pay, you get upgrades faster. Ladders are not necessarily the best people, but the best people who likely paid for upgrades.
    Played it for the story, which is fine I suppose, nothing special.

    Diablo Immortal is a simplified and more accessible version of the series that can still provide hours of mindless fun and entertainment. Sadly, the games suffers in the long run because of all the tedious grinding and the greedy monetization system, making a game experience that starts as very enjoyable much less so as time goes on.
