    It's like at this point Blizzard is intentionally making the worst games of all time. Immortal, for example, is a complete and utter mess that smears and taints the franchise with the worst monetisation mechanics you can imagine. Besides that, the character design and overall look is that of a 99% generic Chinese mobile game with no personality whatsoever.

    this game uses psychology as a weapon to extract as much money from its victims. uses every trick from that Torulf Jernstrom video( "lets go whaling") and adds its own new tricks and spin to the formula.

    OK, where do I start with this.

    1. There are bugs upon bugs, from game not launching to crashing to skills stopping working in middle of fights. 2. Game gas PvP and is P2W which shouldn't be a thing. 1 whale can destroy whole teams due to overpowering gems that cost thousands of $. 3. F2P content is gated, many hidden mechanics stopping progress. 4. There is not much content, after    OK, where do I start with this.

For a few hours it was glorious - and as a game, pure gameplay joy, despite a level of jank in its beta stage it's not at all without merit - but predatory is the only way to describe the monetisation.     This game is only viable if you're a super casual as you won't notice the pay gates and restrictions. Anything above that - lmao, good luck. Looking for a 5/5 star legendary gem? There's no pity/guarantee so you'll probably end up spending $15K USD, no joke.

    Apart from awful cashgrab what i was well aware off, my first 1-1,5h was rather pleasant however after that time I discovered some other players in my world and decide to give it a hard pass. I don't need another stinky MMO in my life. Also WTF monetization Blizz?

    But of course, Activision Blizzard couldn't just left it alone and have it be a good game, they have billions of dollars to earn after all, and so the game is plagued by every monetisation scheme they could think of, from basic microtransactions and loot boxes to battle passes, and all of them are skewed as much as possible to be scummy.
    To the point that the only way to have a viable character for end game content is to either spend decades grinding with all the limits and caps placed onto the F2P players, or spend literally thousands of dollars for a chance to drop even a single piece of loot you need several of to max out a character.

    I remember back in the mid-90s playing the first Diablo demo I got with PC gamer over and over - you could only get as far as the butcher but man it was amazing. This captures nothing of the joy of the franchise I fell in love with. It is a banal program designed to get money out of you, not to bring enjoyment, At this point I think Blizzard should just sell their IP and wind-up.

    The story sucks, the gameplay on pc is buggy and unresponsive.
    Each day was either grind to get very little xp OR wait for 20x the xp doing the dailies. Every step (like finish a dj or gain a lvl it) it kept asking me to go to the store and it was annoying AF.     Diablo Immortal signifies the tragic state of gaming, not because it is an inherently bad game, and not because it is significantly more shameful with its monetization than other predatory (mostly mobile) titles.
    Diablo Immortal is tragic because the Diablo (and to some extent Blizzard, even if that ship is long gone) brand is sacred to many gamers to world over, who fell in love with the    Diablo Immortal signifies the tragic state of gaming, not because it is an inherently bad game, and not because it is significantly more shameful with its monetization than other predatory (mostly mobile) titles.

Diablo Immortal takes that world-wide love, and cynically exploits that love, to suck their customers wallets as dry as humanly possible. EVERY scummy strategy is fully on display in this excuse of a game, solely designed to make you spend money. Activision Blizzard has been in steady decline, when it comes to integrity. Seemingly, the company is now working to "better the workplace environment", instead distilling all their toxic **** into the games they launch, it is an absolute JOKE.
    Not only can I not recommend even trying Diablo Immortal out, I actively recommend just deleting any Blizzard product you own, and letting this soulless, greedy, money grabbing entity, masquerading as a company, die a slow but deserved death.
    The 1 star that I ultimately give this game is for the average Joe developer who worked on it, and has little to do with the awful and overly predatory monetization scheme. The game is okay, it runs smoothly and looks decent, but feels very close to D3 (which has been out for a decade soon).    … Expand

Blizzard was Told By the Fans That they were going in the Wrong Direction After They Released Diablo 3. it was More Cartoonish and wasn't like the Previous Titles (Diablo 1-2) Diablo 4 is Looking to Follow this Trend and I Find Myself More Excited for Path of Exile 2 a (Free to Play Game) that still isn't as Ruthless with Microtransactions as Diablo Immortal "IMORRAL".

    The Only MTX in PoE is Cosmetic's, No Paywalls, No Pay to Win Mechanics. Not To mention I Feel like Path of Exiles is More of a True Successor to the Original Diablo Games of Old (Mechanics Wise) Besides the Fact that PoE doesn't use Currency such as Gold Like Diablo.

    Gameplay is nice, I’d have paid full price for the whole game minus the micro transactions like I have for the other iterations on multiple platforms. I literally have the other Diablo games on every platform I own that it’s available on because I enjoy it that much but they have gone too damn far this time.     There is hidden loot boxes everywhere. And Activision-Blizzard uses extremely predatory systems that is horribly consumer unfriendly.

    Gameplay is decent since it is actually just a copy of Diablo III.

    Diablo Immortal is a simplified and more accessible version of the series that can still provide hours of mindless fun and entertainment. Sadly, the games suffers in the long run because of all the tedious grinding and the greedy monetization system, making a game experience that starts as very enjoyable much less so as time goes on.
