    Surprising it even has a story around it, why not just go straight to insert credit card here page and forget making anything else. No need for fun gameplay, great story, engaging characters, those things cost a lot of money and time to make Blizzard.

    Next time just launch a Wordpress site with pay here page, quick and dirt cheap, which is clearly Blizzard's new motto.

    I am not sure how old Diablo III is, but looks a lot better and hopefully Diablo IV won’t follow this game in any of its features. It’s a bad game, don’t waste your time and check some videos about it first.

    I normally wouldn't review a game, but I've been a long time fan of Diablo for a very long time.
    This entry is one of the worst games I've ever seen ruined by in game transactions. Even if you're a big fan of Diablo I would stay as far as possible from this poorly disguised predatory transaction system.
    I can only hope that this doesn't become an entry point for other games to    I normally wouldn't review a game, but I've been a long time fan of Diablo for a very long time.

I have gotten both to paragon 30 into hell2, Knowing how the game works from both sides i have given this a proper score based on the system built within the game. I have played many Gotcha games from swgoh to marvel and have pretty decent accounts. I do not mind spending when i feel rewarded here and there but overall the same as swgoh did as did marvel. they get too clouded with the pay wall and diablo holds the thrown for the most money for the least amount. So i would highly recommend to if you choose to spend only buy the pass and that is it and even then there is somewhat no point when u are gated from multiple systems from the whales to the f2p. Its insane they gate both ends of which the whole system needs to be revamped and money needs to be given back to those who have spent once system changes. I would highly recommend to just wait for changes to take place or to even just play here and there if you choose the path of playing.… Expand

    The game from a gameplay perspective is mediocre at best. However the cash shop with its pay2win and pay2convenience will suck any fun out of the game.
    Games like this are made un-fun on purpose in order to *sell* you the solution. This works against the core principle of being a game and therefore can't have more than 0 points.

    Pretty good for a mobile game, resembles the original (D2; maybe a bit too vivid colours). I like the voice acting and story, but I dislike the aggressive manipulative monetization. A Diablo game being Pay2Win? I don't like that at all, I was, probably naively, expecting a bit more from Blizzard. I guess it's true the Blizzard has lost its soul...

    In a sea of pseudo-videogames that is mobile gaming, you know, with all its this-is-not-really-a-game-but-software-designed-to-take-your-money-through-abusing-your-addiction-and-dopamine-circuits games, and this-is-not-really-a-game-we-just-use-this-app-for-money-laundering games, which make up 99.9% of all mobile gaming, Blizzard adds their own.

    When I was a kid I was absolutely fascinated with Diablo, and then Diablo Hellfire. My cousins and I played the crap out of it for years.
    Later, when Diablo II came out, we went crazy for it. We spent years worth of christmas, easter, and birthday money to buy a new monitor, as Diablo II did not run with our 640*480 devices.
    With Diablo 3 we had our fair share of fun.
    So naturally, we really tried to love Diablo Immortal, but it's a child not even its mother could love.

    There are many stakes in this game's coffin which alone would be enough to allow us to call this game a steaming pile of putrid garbage.

    -Pay 2 Win
    As a free to play player you'll be sooooooo much behind in player power that it is just crazy.
    Even compared to people paying just a hundred or so bucks, you'll be behind.
    But find solace in the fact that if you keep playing, as a free to play player, eventually your hard effort and skill will bear fruits... and after a long line of account inheritance, once even your memory is gone, your great-grandkids will be able to mostly max out the stats they gain from legendary gems. As it literally takes 40-80 years of F2P to get close to maxing out your legendary gems.
    If you are a whale, I hope you are a fat one, as you'll be swiping hundreds of thousands of dollars - literally - to achieve that.
    The main P2W feature is Legendary Crests. 100 EUR will buy you 45. 1 week of farming as a free to play player will get you 2. Basically, you are buying dozens of hours of farming which is capped to 2 items per week for around 2 EUR. You are an idiot if you do not use your credit card and decide to toil for the rewards instead. But then again, you are an idiot if you consider paying for ingame power a worthy hobby to have.
    The legendary crests have the following drop rate for legendary gems:
    2/5 star: 3.75%
    3/5 star: 1%
    4/5 star: 0.2%
    5/5 star: 0.05%
    So to get JUST ONE 5/5 star gem you'll need to get around 2000 gems and pay roughly 5000 EUR.
    BUT WAIT, there are multiple types of gems, and most gems will not be suitable for your class / build.
    There are 6 legendary gem slots.
    So in the end it will cost you hundreds of thousands of dollars to deck out your character in max level gems.
    Lets say that as a F2P player you'll get 100 legendary crests per year. It will take you around 20 years of diligent farming to get a single random 5/5* legendary gem, and hundreds of years of farming to get all the 5/5* gems you want!
    The difference between people with 5/5 star legendary gems and F2p legendary gems is NIGHT AND DAY, and these gems not only give you a huge bonus from their extra abilities, but they also give you a huge % bonus for your equipment's stats.

    -Time gate
    Rewards are very time-gated.
    There is a limit put on most of the things you can do.
    And WHEN you can do it. E.g., some bosses only spawn at a specific hour on a week.
    You also need to do daily chores, and if you miss out on them you feel bad.

    -Not much to do
    There is just not much to do in the game, really. To go from lvl 56 to 60, I had to run, I don't know, 30 Leoric runs (and not something else, because Leoric had the weekly bonus extra drops).
    Rifts have been through the un-funinator machine. They SUCK in Immortal.
    Weekly boss raids are painful and take hours, as people just keep missing mechanics. Enjoy wiping dozens of times, because people just can't learn simple mechanics. Imagine heroic WoW raid difficulty with LFR people.

    -Awful cash shop
    Let us ignore the P2W aspect of the cash shop for a moment. If we do, we get a pretty much empty, boring cash shop with 3-4 not so good looking skins for your character and nothing worth mentioning.

    -Awful questing experience
    Most of the time you spent questing will be on quests like: "Reach lvl 56", "Reach lvl 60". Yes, "level up 4 times" are actual quests in the game. In 2022.
    The quests are boring, the story is meh, characters are completely forgettable.

    -The world is TINY
    If you are claustrophobic then do not even install this game.
    This is super tiny for an MMO, and super tiny for even a Diablo / ARPG game. There is not much distinction between zones either. -Monster diversity should be higher There are 38 types of "common enemies" in the game. Diablo 1 had 48 + its many colored variants, so close to a hundred. I would expect more from an MMO / ARPG released in 2022. 5000 characters    … Expand

    The Blizzard of old is gone now we have the late stage capitalism parasite that preys on the gambling addictions of youths.

    For the price of a modest mortgage you too can experience end game content in a blizzard game.

    This really makes me more sad than it should. Diablo Immortal is actually a pretty good game! Simplified, yes. But fun, technically impressive and filled with a lot of cool things in terms of small gameplay ideas and fun lore tidbits (we can fight Baal together with Zoltun Kulle and Tal Rasha! :) Even the rare tongue-in-cheek 4th wall breaks ("I have to wait ... it seems." and "He knows IThis really makes me more sad than it should. Diablo Immortal is actually a pretty good game! Simplified, yes.     Who deserves to be thrown into the sewer on the other hand are the execs (and probably NetEase Games). The unscrupulous amount of pay-to-win and hidden caps for Free-to-play players borders on pure evil. They are preying on the vulnerable few, that cannot resist the constant insidious call to spend a little bit of money. And then some more.

    We have to fight this **** so that it does not spill over to PC and full price games. That's why I reactivated my old Metacritic account to give this 0. Because I actually give more than 0 **** about what is happening to one of my favorite IPs ever.

    Ironically the only other review I ever gave here was a defense of Diablo 3 a decade ago ... how times change.    … Expand

    so disappointing, first of the pc port is bleh for a company that makes pc games since the 90s its below average on the current standards and below that blizzard can do better. oh and blizzard battle-net launcher only.moving on... the ui is cluttered with infos, icons are way to big and the is no adjusting to it. the game feels so so ... sometimes my input dosent work i had some frameso disappointing, first of the pc port is bleh for a company that makes pc games since the 90s its below average on the current standards and below that blizzard can do better. oh and blizzard battle-net launcher only.moving on... the ui is cluttered with infos, icons are way to big and the is no adjusting to it. the game feels so so ... sometimes my input dosent work i had some frame drops here and there. I don't feel invested in the story even if the voice acting is solid. the world feels super small and the rift patterns repeat so often i'am in believe there are only 4. on top of all of that its just a cheap rehash of Diablo 3 with immoral monetization that it should be banned in most countries. blizzard again sets for me a new time low, I'am surprised and not surprised at the same time, a new milestones in and canon shot to there reputation that is already burned on a pile of undead corpses. great job and i blame not only the head of the studios for it i include the devs too.… Expand

    I have been a huge fan of Diablo since Diablo 2 about 20 years ago. This game is by far the worst in the series. Gameplay is mediocre, very repetitive. What completely ruins it though, are the "microtransactions". The game is designed around them, intentionally making gameplay annoying unless one pays a lot. I wouldn't mind paying $60 as a one-off price, but this game is sooo predatory. ItI have been a huge fan of Diablo since Diablo 2 about 20 years ago. This game is by far the worst in the series.     Game was actually fun until I hit level 60 and couldn't progress without potentially spending thousands of dollars for a CHANCE to progress.

    Rubbish.

    Should be renamed Diablo: Immoral.

    Really good game totally obliterated by unbearable monetisation. Blizzard probably desperately needs all these money to pay reparation and make silent the abused workers suffering under the Cuckootick and his crew of molesting friends. I really hope MS will fire all of the management because they do not abuse only their workers but now also a players.

    just feels like a d3 expansion to me ported to mobile. i wasn't really a d3 fan so it's not my thing anyway monetization aside. obviously all the manipulative monetization tactics are pathetic. blizzard has officially lost me as a fan. i'm done. this is why all the OG devs bounced and went to make their own studios.

    I've never felt like my brain was being molded to buy stuff more than playing this, this game serves as a peek to what gaming would become in the future if no company was accountable and it's one of the most terrifying things i've seen. What a disgrace.

    It's a shame this talented development team had to make an amazing game filled with that much microtransaction because of greedy executives, this is not the Blizzard I know, I understand they have to make their money back for making it free to play, but this game has all the bad MTX combined.     If you have to pay to progress than there is not a point to even play the game. It's a worthless shell of a game. A hollow cash grab that could have been something worth something. A franchise ruined by greed. And this game could have been something great.

    On top of the store and all of this bs. The last good thing in the game, the story campaign, was completely destroyed by TOTALLY broken, for solo melee on PC, the first raid boss and the last game zone in general.

    Main boss of the last zone's dungeon is painful for solo melee, he just out of range of your auto-attacks or it's just broken controls on PC. And the last boss of the game is    On top of the store and all of this bs. The last good thing in the game, the story campaign, was completely destroyed by TOTALLY broken, for solo melee on PC, the first raid boss and the last game zone in general.

And the last boss of the game is broken in general on PC, broken beams damages out of heatbox on the sides, 4 copies of the boss shooting 4 beams at once on last phase, you want run out of it but they still get you, bcs their heatboxes longer than the animation...

    Diablo Immortal is a simplified and more accessible version of the series that can still provide hours of mindless fun and entertainment. Sadly, the games suffers in the long run because of all the tedious grinding and the greedy monetization system, making a game experience that starts as very enjoyable much less so as time goes on.

    Diablo Immortal seems like a project created with the sole purpose of using the good name of Diablo to rub the players of their money. Definitely one of the worst games ever came out of Blizzard.
