Horrible, I can't believe it took 12 years to make this game. Not to mention the fact that they failed miserably on the launch day. HORRIBLE AWFUL GAME. doesn't work. Isn't worth the money you pay for it and the campaign is way too short. Only a fool would buy this game. It is full of anti christian values that will pollute the minds of your children. STAY AWAY

First of all, the length of time Blizzard made us wait for the game, as well as the length of time they spent beta testing were obviously squandered. While the core game play itself seems bug free, everything else from the client, to logging in, to the auction house, to even doing in-game trading is finicky and simply just plain bad - untested, unfinished product. At the heart of the game is the Diablo hack and slash combat we all know and love, and the skills and classes feel good. From this aspect the game excels very well. However, and unfortunately for Blizzard, the fact the servers were horrible on the first week, and still lag constantly, the auction house which continually gives you error codes whenever you try to buy an item or sell an item, the incredibly short, predictable, and tired storyline that any elementary school student could have come up with, the incredible shortness of Act 4, and the quite clearly 4 year old graphics engine combine to give a rating - 5/10. The game hits all the points we wanted from D2, and that's not saying much considering that game is 12 years old. Feels like a Diablo 2 expansion pack more than a new full game. Expand

Sure would be awesome to PLAY the game I paid for. This is the worst game launch, ever. Seriously, in 3123 they will talk about how atrocious the launch of diablo3 was. I would love to play and review the game for you... but I can't.

Blizzard failed with D3. WIth the money they are raking in on this and other games, it's criminal that they don't put enough into the infrastructure of their servers to ensure a fun, consistent gaming experience. This game should have never required an internet connection in the first place, and the only thing Blizzard did well was showcase their greed with the decisions they made. D3Blizzard failed with D3. I loved the 2 hours of this I could play on launch day. Blizzard decided to force always-on connections with no choice of offline playing, so now I've been waiting well over 5 hours to get back into a game I preordered months ago. I'll change my rating when I get to play more, but seeing as the game is unplayable right now, this is the rating it gets.

No offline play. Broadband required? If you have Satellite it is unplayable. In other words if you live in a rural area this game is not for you. I don't know if the actual game is any good, because the best internet available to me is too crappy to run the game. Thanks for nothing Blizzard. I used to be a fan of the Diablo games, but since I can't play the new one...

I want to know how people are writing reviews as the servers have been off/on (mostly off) since launch, about 15hrs ago and aren't scheduled to be back online for another 2 hours. When I got to play this game was good. Graphics are decent, but really it is DIABLO...LOOTFESTFTW is still awesome and getting new gear still drives this slasher!!!

Might be a good game, but there is no reason for one of the largest gaming companies to have this many issues with launching a game. It's not like this is their first rodeo.

This game isn't even worth looking at it. Obviously, all of them developers are largely overpaid. and to say we've waited 12 years for this game, is a bit shameful. Shame on Blizzard for delivering such a botched up, wanna-be World Of Warcraft products to their clients. And shame on us, the clients, for believing they'd have done otherwise.

Horrible, this is not the Blizzard I once knew. Instead of trying to craft a well polished experience they are simply trying to grab as much money by cutting as many corners as possible.

Great idea, great game play if you can get on...but you cant. And if you cant, you cant play. Blizzards idea to release this for every time zone at the same time on top of requiring you to be on has complete botched the release and put a horrible taste in peoples mouths. Wait to buy until problems are fixed.

Also, compared to D2, this game is dumbed way, way down. Don't get me wrong, when you can actually play the game it's mildly entertaining, but far too easy.

D3 is to action RPGs what Halo is to FPS games: A dumbed down game designed for the unwashed masses, rather than a game engineered to be a fun, challenging ride.

D3 has reduced the series to something else, its not the game it should be. Its overly simplified to the point where you could most likely teach a chimpanzee to play it. This is a game which was developed for 10 years, I feel I could have gotten a degree in software writing, rendering, modelling and texturing and made a better game in the same timeframe. The lack of single player feels stingy and irritating, as the previous 2 games were primarily based on single player. The cash shop allows players to pay to win, the annoying thing is of course that you cannot choose to not play with these people as there is no singleplayer, playing the game requires you remain online. Similarly, the feel of the game, that is, the music, the texturing etc isn't in a unique style. Personally it feels cartoonish and unrealistic, so much so that the 128 colour graphics of d2 are more realistic. The music feels like they were trying to improve on a masterpiece by rewriting Tristram's theme. If you have played Diablo 1 or 2. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME. If you haven't and this is your first game ever, there's a good chance you may enjoy it. Expand

Dear Blizzard, you ruined the name Diablo with this RPGless,WOWsimilar game with no atmosphere.

Instead of Diablo 3 you should have done additional datadisk to Diablo 2 with 2 new characters and with original graphic (maybe higher resolution etc.) and the players would love you.

You should have left the legend sleep!! Shame on you!

Douchebags... Spent the day looking at server errors.

Day off from work, raining, see the Diablo 3 commercial... "why not" I ask. Had been ten years since playing some other PC game. Since when to you have to connect to servers to play a single-player game. And then have a company dumb enough not to have the servers ready? Do yourselves a favor and call your bank/credit card.

Need to be connected to Battle.net servers in order to play a SINGLE PLAYER game. Very draconian style DRM. Game only actually runs on 50% of users' computers. Others are having terrible graphics and performance issues. The game has been made easier and casualised to appeal to the Call of Duty crowd. Avoid this game at all costs. Save $60 and don't give Blizzard any more money.

There might actually be a good game here, but between the error preventing login and the constant server downtime, this game isn't yet worth anyone's time. Most frustrating is the fact that even if you're playing single player you still must connect to a server at all times. So if your internet is down or there are too many people playing the game at once, you can't play the game at all.

Well, the game is pretty good. But, why I need their servers to be up to play singleplayer, by myself, is utterly confusing. Can the game not be hosted using my bandwidth? At this point I think my computer would be a more stable server than their real servers. Right now, I'm giving it a 0, because if I can't play it, it's a waste of time and money.

For all the game's missteps, though, you certainly can't accuse Blizzard of phoning it in - if anything, the game suffers from the tendency to try a little to hard at times to evolve the design. [Aug 2012, p.61]
