    The hype train was real with this one, but unfortunately those playing on a base ps4; myself included should feel cheated and blindsided by CDPR. The current state that this game is in on those consoles as of 1.04 patch is still horrendous. Choppy animations and cinematic scenes muddy textures and poor resolution makes this feel like a half baked 360 game.     hey cdpr maybe release the game finished and for ps5 thanks :) to imagine that this was supposedly supposed to release back in April is just sad. witcher 3 was so great but I guess this was just a one-hit-wonder company

The game should have been delayed one more time for another two or three months, but I'm personally loving this game as my experience has been relatively unhampered (2 reloads due to bugs in 20 hours of gameplay? meh).     Despite being able to freely create your own character and choose her/his skills, CDP actually made this less of an rpg than Witcher 3 is. As Geralt you could at least make decisions, as V you just follow the given path. Even unlocking dialog-options by having a skill be high enough will just give you 1-2 additional sentences that change absolutely nothing about the outcome of the conversation, before plunging you back into the path laid out before you.

    The controls are spongy even on foot, while vehicle controls feel like steering a brick on ice skates, and the UI is comletely overloaded and just plain ugly, although at least the last point is down to personal preference.

    What already drove me crazy in Witcher 3 was how you could just go into any building, anywhere, and just take everything not nailed to the ground, and not a single soul would give a flying f**k. The Police might teleport into a private basement if you stealth kill someone without witnesses, but they don't care if you steal something, no matter how expensive it is. Infiltrated a strip-joint of a gang that doesn't like you, standing in the bosses office right in front of him? Take everything he ownes, he doesn't care. Log into his computer and read his emails right under his nose, he doesn't give a s**t. And those are just a few of many points that rip me personally right out of the experience and make clear to me that this is just a game with a lot of design decisions that are questionable at best.

    CDP is able to make great games, as they've shown with Witcher 3. But they have no talent whatsoever for roleplaying games. Cyberpunk has a lot of potential as a great 1st Person Cyberpunk GTA, but even that will take a lot of post-launch work.

    I'll continue to try giving the game a chance, but i'm already close to giving up and just installing Deus Ex again. That one might not be perfect, but it's a lot closer to the Cyberpunk RPG that i wished Cyberpunk would've been.

    The first game I've ever requested a refund from Steam. Extremely buggy with poor performance on a decent rig. This game was clearly not ready for release. They should have delayed it to next year.

    I will update if the game get a significant patch, but this game is just bad right now. I have an RTX 3080 and I can't get this game to run at 60fps even with reduced settings at 1080p. The AI is practically non-existent, the promised choices are lackluster at best and not present at worst, the raytracing implementation is poor, there are bugs and crashes constantly. Open world is lifeless (empty city-people don’t react- no random activity reaching you). Driving is a mess, you hit solid and unmovable objects everywhere, cars don’t stop or slow down.     Yeah there are some bugs, but none enough that has caused me any dissatisfaction. The writing is top notch, the gameplay us solid and really captures the look and feel of the Cyberpunk genre. I highly recommend this title to everyone who enjoys sci fi and rpg's.

    Playing with GTX 1650 and until now 8hours of gameplay, no bugs, in fact only one bug but with logitech mouse, the rest are good, i only think they should improve the framerate, the game needs to be more polished, the low setings almost don't have difference compared to ultra...

    This game is a disaster. Bugs, AI, overall performance, stability, and basic design are all compromised. I am shocked when playing the game.

    Really enjoying the game, feels very CDproject red, 5hours in and still exploring. It still being polished but so far it is being a blast, most engaging game in the last years

    For me its almost perfect, i didnt had any issues with gameplay or something on my low budget rig, bugs aren't making game unplayable and story is just something beautfiull, solid 10/10 even with those existing bugs

    The police system sucks af police randomly spawn anywhere and even at your back at most of the time. Some items can’t be picked up unless I do save and load. And no car customization lmao


    the Witcher 3 was better this is bs and the gane is buggggyy as hell to

    This is true next gen in almost everyway, graphics, lighting, writing, performance (not hardware performance (Bugs) at this moment but of the story), but that being said GTA V was getting similar frame rates on PS3 and 360.... its just the nature of the beast.... I also think that when development started they were thinking the hardware was going to be much further along especially on GPU design (everything looked on pace during the 10 series Nvidia graphics cards, then a pretty much 5 year lag for true "Next gen" versus the 10 series, no competition AMD non competing etc) but a lot of people don't realize the amount of features they were able to (want, forced, paid RTX*) to incorporate into the game, the impact of that on performance, the development cycle of creating so many versions of the game while trying to debug and polish them all at once.

    I have played a bit about 9 hours, with DLSS quality I get 54 to 60 (V sync at 60) at 4K performance is good to great for me, several hard crashes (to desktop), I own the Witcher III, but could never get into it due to feeling lock into this "Movie" masquerading as a game. I feel like they were able to bridge the gap with this one. Feels more like a game than non skippable endless cut scenes, GTA except with good to better than good gun play, GTA with Good to Decent driving ( I don't crash like I did in GTA not due to limited skill, but the game mechanics of it being better/more controllable). Last gen consoles was going to be a blood bath and the only known quantity in performance they would have had and should have known it would not run/perform in a meaningful manner a repurposed mobile processor and a mid to budget level 8 year old to 5 year old GPU, (only so far you can downgrade a game until its a fuzzy soup of an image). Feel like the marketing would have been best served with a "plays on all consoles, PLAYS BEST ON PS5/SERIES X AND ABOVE...    … Expand

    On the PC If the game launched Unbroken. It would be a 10 out of 10. But it is very broken right now. The game crashes on me constantly even after the patches. I get floating items weapons vehicles and people all the time. When my character goes in the club nobody moves and their voices are all the same. I have had people walk down the street in a t pose. On a fairly regular basis I can't choose what to say during a conversation. Only way to fix this is reset the game. When I pick up a body and move it to a new spot. When I try to drop the body my character decides to throw the body across the room. About 50% of the time I character has hair. Sometimes I can pick up an item sometimes I cannot. I played all the Witcher games on the PC and on the consoles and never once did I ever put the game down in frustration from Bugs. I don't remember having any game breaking bugs at all on The Witcher 3. But as of right now I'm thinking about just putting the game down and up trying to play it until they fix this game. I blame the upper management for forcing out a game that was not finished. Just so they can get their bonuses. When I heard they're pushing the game back I was very happy. Because I thought they were doing it to polish up the game. If this is their idea of polishing, it must have been a biger piece of crap before they push this game back. In a few months if they fix the game I'll gladly change my score to a 10 out of 10. Because minus the bugs everything has been amazing.… Expand

    A very good game. Very extensive and addictive. Unfortunately, it still suffers from many bigger and smaller bugs, but I hope the developer will deal with them successfully with a few fixes.

    Everything in this game: gunplay, driving, map orientation, waypoints (gps), hand to hand combat, crafting, no preview of clothing, no proper way of categorizing your loot to quickly sell all the stuff you don't wanna keep or breaking things down for crafting materials every piece of gear has to be dealt with individually, AI, climbing/parcouring, police/wanted system, high amount of useless and repetetive loot, scanning glows up the whole world cluttering your screen, repetetive enemy voice lines, enemy guards turn hostile out of nowhere, repetetive side missions (outside of a few well made missions most of the police support missions and assassinate missions are pretty much all the same - bad guys even respawn at the excact same location you killed them earlier and much much more. Honestly the list is endless. This is not about hating the game. I wanted it to be great like anyone else. I think it has the potential to be great. The foundation, the vision and the ambition is there and you can see glimpses of it and feel it throughout the city but the issues this game has far outshine the good things (like the characters, story telling, general atmosphere/vibe within the city, style). This really feels like a beta or early access version and not a finished product with how buggy, glitchy and janky it is. You can still have some fun with it sure, but is this the legendary game they where selling? Hell, even if you didn't buy into the hype, the state this game was released in is unacceptable. How are so many people okay with an obviously unfinished product is beyond me and all those payed high score reviews are just pitiful.

    I am deeply disappointed in CDPR. I am sure, I know some of these developers worked their asses of and where really passioned with this project and like I said, you can see the ambition within the world but ultimately where powerless against the will of the suits to push this game out far far to early. Just imagine what would have been possible with one or even two more years of development.

    I hate to compare games but just look at Red Dead Redemption 2 and tell me Cyberpunk 2077 right now, is on the same level. No just no and I am not even much of a fan RDR2.    … Expand

    One of the worst triple A ever made. It's just a disappoint in almost every aspect of the game. The experience is absolutely ruined by at least a bug each 10 minutes, broken performance and cuestionable depth. Everything we were told was so great and detailed is just... simply a lie.

    I'm playing on a PC with custom settings that lean ultra/high with DLSS but no RT. i7-8700K, RTX 2070 Super, WD Black M.2 NVME and RAM running at 3600 mhz. Frames are averaging 70-75. Its not maxed out but I think it still looks amazing.

    An unpolished import from our Polish friends that is certainly divisive, but I for one can't get enough.    … Expand

If you can look past them, there are a lot of things that show where CDPR wants to take the game, and if they continue to develop the game like they did the witcher 3, it will be game of the year 2021. The game is absolutely beautiful, and really pushes things forward. Others, I expect will be fixed or reworked in a future patch. I don't have a super high end PC, but I can use reasonable graphic settings (medium) I get 100+ FPS, or I can turn on the eye candy and get 30-35 FPS. Now, 30-35 FPS isn't great, but it is the smoothest experience I have ever had at that framerate. No stutters, no jerks, just really really smooth at 30 FPS, which isn't something that I expected.

    At any rate, I'm about 20 hours into the game, and from what I can tell, I'm pretty sure that I am less than half way through the game at this point. I expect that my first play through will be 80-200 hours. I am enjoying the game as it is, but I do look forward to the upcoming patches that fix the glitches that for me so far have been rather minor. A game crash here, a floating person there, but nothing that keeps me from progressing or continuing to play.

    Lots of trolls on metacritic who are obviously trying to downrate the game by giving it a score of 0. Just look past them, and enjoy the game, you won't regret it.    … Expand

    Played on pc so I cant speak for promlems on console but my experience has been great. Some of the best writing and characters in a peice of media in a long time. The big beautiful world is packed with things going on and feels alive. The combat in the beginning is slow but on harder difficulties and after getting some skills it picks up greatly and comboing hacking and shooting isPlayed on pc so I cant speak for promlems on console but my experience has been great. The perfomace has been good aswell but I have it running on a higher end pc but I can see how lower hardware might have some troubles. But overall the game is great and even on lower end systems if you can move past the grhaphical issues you'll have alot of fun and be thrown into a deep sprawling world full on interesting characters.… Expand

    I'm going to be frank. When this game works, its a fun and exhilarating experience. I found myself forgetting that this was a game which is a testament to engaging the experience was - WHEN IT WORKED. There are so many bugs that just completely ruined the immersion. dying from falling less than a foot, falling off your bike from a 2 MPH collision while staying on after hitting a wall atI'm going to be frank. There are so many bugs that just completely ruined the immersion. dying from falling less than a foot, falling off your bike from a 2 MPH collision while staying on after hitting a wall at 120 MPH, people spawning in walls or props, dialog being randomly unavailable, random T-posing NPCs, the list goes on and on. I also want to mention that this game barely runs at 60 FPS because it for some reason does not fully utilize my GPU. I have a 2060 super, and it just scratches 60% utilization. I really want to give this game a good review, but its hard to do so when CDPR had 9 years to make a game and botched it this bad. I want to reiterate, this game is really good story wise. The game does a phenomenal job developing it's characters and making you really care about them. The voice actors clearly put a lot of effort into the job and it shows. The environment looks absolutely beautiful and really does evoke feelings of a futuristic dystopian America ruled by gangs and mega conglomerates. but all of this good is overshadowed by game breaking bugs and glitches. I would recommend buying the game - just not now. I hope that this game gets the 'No Man's Sky' treatment and all of it's bugs get ironed out. TLDR; good game story wise, don't buy yet. wait for bug quashing fixes and performance improvements for the best experience… Expand

If you leave you car in the street other drivers will just pile up behind you because they aren't scripted properly. Enemies will atand in place while you shoot them. Cops dont drive to your location when you commit a crime, theyThis game is an unfinished mess. If your thibking about buying it, don't. Wait and see if they fix it. Miasto ma tyle aktywności i różnego rodzaju misji pobocznych, że naprawdę nie myśle o wątku głównym.     The gameplay is very enjoyable. I'm playing on the hardest difficulty and it's been fair but challenging.

    There's a lot of customization options outside of character creation, a lot of weapons that are all pretty different in some way.

    Theres 3 life paths to choose as your background, each will create unique situations during the main story and sidequests, involving special dialog choices usually. They each have their pros and cons.

    The only real "Bugs" I've encountered have been insignificant UI visual glitches, and to fix it you just quicksave with F5 and reload your save, overall takes maybe half a second.    … Expand

    City life apart the game is very good, the story is good, the way you can interact during cinematic is awesome, fight are fun... But I don't know if it's possible at this stage, but the AI of city life is so so horrible. But I got what I want in the game, cyberpunk universe and an awesome story line and side mission. So 9/10 for me.

The character and writing, the number of skills and dam, I need to get RTX 3080 to experience RTX on this. I had a few bugs, but nothing game breaking hope they fix them fast.     I want to give a 10 but the game is holding itself back with poor performance, if you dont have a monster pc and want to run this game smoothly I recommend waiting it out for another 1/2 months.    … Expand

    This version of the game (PC) is the only one that is not a blurry mess, but it's still a mess regarding the bugs and all the other problems of this game. The amount of bug is ridiculous. The story is ok and the city is well done, but the interaction is shallow and the animations are very blocky.

    Ive been fighting to even play this game... even in the dialogues. It reminds me of how Anthem released and honestly after that, devs the world over should've took note of what NOT to do. This would've been great as a Call of Duty story style shooter. I gave benefit of the doubt and bought from GOG to fully support the Devs on this project.     The game is very buggy on every platform at all levels. My pc experience personally has been good though, and I haven't really experienced any game breaking bugs. In fact most of my bugs are fixed by saving and reloading on the spot, or saving and restarting. Is it inconvenient? Yes, but it doesn't make me lose progress or anything. I have also found that most issues on high end pc's lie with 4k or rtx. The game looks fantastic without rtx and on 1440p, which arguably most people use anyway.

    So, all in all it definitely needs work in the technical aspects. However, that not the only thing a review should be about. THIS GAME HAS AMAZING STORIES. The characters you can interact with have much better realism than any other game I've played. I think its a mix if all the little things, like emotions, animation, looks. The stories in general are all interesting in their own ways too.

    The city is vast and detailed at every turn, on a good pc mind you. Lots of npcs, vehicles, buildings, signs, stores, etc. I found myself going in and out of little areas and alleyways for 2 hours the other day. It was hard to believe how much detail they put into the most random places. Some issues like the npc variety and repeats can have their weird spots of being next to each other, and while I do think it's a little immersion breaking, it doesn't always bother me. 9 times out of 10 I'm too busy doing something to even notice this.

    The music is fantastic and it adds just that much more to the game and how it impacts how you feel. Well done indeed.

    Melee combat seems to be a bit if a topic too. I am currently a melee build and I can tell you im having a lot of fun with it. I can understand certain qualms with how the impact isn't quite there yet in terms of how it feels, but I can tell you that melee is more than good enough to play and enjoy with.

    Once again these are my personal thoughts on the game so far, and while I could probably have more to say, it's harder to get everything in detail through text. To me, if the game wasn't as buggy as it is I would easily make it a 10. There's just so much to like and appreciate once you actually get into the game. I can't in good faith give it a 10 knowing so many people are experiencing issues.    … Expand

    I give an 8 of 10 for pc version with the last update,npc traveling with speed of light sometimes,and i dont see police crusing in city,but after all is fun to play and i dont have a great pc,amd ryzen5 3600 16 gb and gtx 1660 oc and runs pretty smooth around 60 fps plus minus 10 fps sometimes,in 12 hours in a row i never encountered a crash and my pc was in stable temps.So.it wotrh it my money

Dont play on a 9yo console and expect greatness. Curb your enthusiasm. However, on more powerful machines this can be one of the best rpgs ever made. Especially after a next gen upgrade drops

Unfortunately, that also means that due to the effects and city density a beefy system is needed to run the game in a fashion that will provide the amazing feeling the environment can provide. You need the masses of NPCs walking around and the settings at Ultra to make the game feel like a living environment. It is an experience like playing Doom, Quake, Half-life, System Shock 1/2, or Deus Ex for the first time.
    The game is garbage on consoles due to their low power and lack of optimization, but none of that applies to the PC version at this point. As for stability, I've played 6 hour segments without issue after upgrading graphics drivers and the game to 1.04. I feel bad for the console gamers, and I can understand why they would come to the PC review and try to knock it down too. They wish they could have the same experience.     Don't get me wrong this game is not perfect. It's pretty glitchy sometimes, but if you play on a good enough pc (my specs are the minimum requirement and the game runs fine) the game is very fun. It did not redefine what an open world rpg was, it's just a fun game. I do think it's pretty scummy what they did with the current gen console versions, but this score is about the game.     This game has the most beautiful open world I have ever seen. The story is really good with so many interesting side quests and I couldn't stop playing and go to sleep. There are bugs and dumb AI but still, in my opinion, even counting all imperfections this game is still a masterpiece.

    At the time of writing I have played 30 hours on steam, focusing largely on open world content.

    Combat Systems: 8/10 The gameplay systems in cp2077 are super robust. The leveling system allows for interesting gameplay choices that both world traversal and combat strategy. Melee can be floaty, and encourages spamming, but it feels visceral. Shooting starts slow but is excellent once you grasp the systems. Stealth sucks, but stealth sucks outside of dedicated games. That simple. Hacking is my favorite gameplay system. Initially confusing but both remote hacks and quick hacks provide fun traps to set, impressive crowd control, and substantial burst damage. Being a cyberwizard is great.

    Driving: 7/10

    The driving in the game needs tuning. It’s important to note that your starting car is garbage, replace it ASAP. The motorcycles feel great though. The car designs and sounds are gorgeous. Overall however, the cars are to hard to control and the driving minimal needs to be zoomed out so you don’t miss turns as often. Driving should feel painless, unfortunately it often turns you into the DUI maniac murderer of night city.

    Enemy Combat: 6/10 - 8/10 (if AI fixed)

    This is an unfortunate hit for the game. The enemy design is great, with different enemy kits putting stress on pretty much any strategy you adopt. From katana wielding ninjas and grenades flushing you out of cover, to snipers and enemy net runners punishing long range approaches, and high damage riflemen discouraging run and gun, when the enemy AI holds together it provides a challenge.
    Enemy health is high, but animations add responsiveness and staggers and stubs from weapons add to combat flow. The problem here is with a bug that causes enemy AI to drop out of combat. Super anticlimactic and frustrating, and it happens often. This should be a top priority fix.

    RPG Systems: 8/10

    The choice in the game is often only shifts dialogue rather than outcomes, however there are quests that react to your choices that feel potentially impactful. Some quests can be failed as well which is fun. The rpg elements in terms of character builds are excellent. Make sure to save up and buy cyberwear, it changes combat dramatically. The cash economy in this game is fantastic, it is slow to earn Eurodollars for upgrades, quests, and cars without being a soul crushing grind. I love the balance here.

    Design: 10/10

    The visual and audio design are incredible. Best in the industry. Artful. Character designs are unique. Interiors individually decorated, exteriors breathtaking. The soundtrack absolutely slaps. At times emotionally moving, others blood pumping. Unique dirty synth tracks for each enemy faction add intensity and a unique feel to each fight.

    Open world: 9/10

    The level and map design is incredible. The twisting and layered streets of night city are full of surprises and conflicts. I think many have noticed the lack of rdr2 style open world events and attribute the world feeling dead for this. In the game you have to look for content by following up on gigs and NCPD events. When you do, you find the world is packed with content that is all individually designed and often has chains of quests and events. The open world content is more in the Ubisoft style where you go to map icons. Unlike Ubisoft games however, the content is actually quite interesting.

    Mini games: 0/10

    There just aren’t any. Don’t personally care for them though. What I would desperately like to see are more simulation style events such as sitting at the bar, playing music, playing pachinko machines, etc...

    Quest Content: 10/10
    Broken into main/side quests, gigs, ncpd Main/side: incredible writing, human characters, crazy set pieces. Functionally excellent as a stand alone action game. Side quests are at the same quality as main missions often.

    Gigs: Open World quests that are way more interesting than expected. Always include a bite of story or world building. Sometimes even dramatic surprises.

    NCPD: The most open world style of quests. These have less story but interesting level design adds variety. Much more engaging than typical bandit camps due to level traversal and enemy placement.

    Philosophy: Some criticism has said the game is without philosophy. If you take the time to read the written content in game, the struggle between tech and labor, growth of AI sentience, distorted politics and advertisement, and the struggle between ambition and risk all add tension and mystery.    … Expand

Right now the game is 75-80% finished, and the current state sums up to many bugs and glitches, clumsy mechanics to the point where it looks like a bad port to PC - driving is painful, but it goes much further.     This game is amazing -- I am playing on PC and while I have experienced glitches I understand the industry. I've been waiting a long time for this game and they delivered on Looks, replayability, enjoyment (glitches and bugs included), story, and much more. While I am upset they are getting such a bad rap for the bugs it's needless to say if no one complained they probably would have left the game as is. The game is a delight and a very fun time. Nowhere else will you see an RPG that includes, FPS, detailed and non repetitive missions , side missions and gigs, platforming, exploring, challenges, easter eggs, comic relief, drama, suspense, thrill and much more the way this game does it!… Expand

    Had no issues at the PC. Some minor collision / object clipping , but that sis not a deal braker, especially for the scope of this game.

    The story and shooting mechanics are the strong card of this game at the moment. The city and environment is very well thought out and detailed.

    One of the things i didnt like so far is the driving, which could be better.

    After 30 hours. Game is impressive, story is addictive (which is a +). Gunplay is very ok. Driving is ok too. Attention to detail is on another level man. Night city is like a dream but the one where you are controling it. Immersion, immersion and immersion. On the technical side of things... Well I encountered only few bugs. But the crashes... Theres been like 20 + in my playthrough.

    The best metaphor for Cyberpunk 2077 is Johnny Silverhand himself. A messiah, a mix of Kurt Cobain and Che Guevara, a talented singer who loves to shape his own legend and has a charming personality but loses the struggle with his own demons. The same goes for the game. It tells a great story and forced me to ask myself difficult questions, but many of its gameplay mechanics do not evolve and its technical state upon release was abysmal. Cyberpunk’s true hero is not a person, but Night City – a vibrant, living creature of great diversity. The beauty of the metropolis is striking. [01/2021, p.22]

    Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the most disturbing and mind-blowing RPGs in history, where every decision has a deep impact on our trail. CD Projekt RED tosses us to the center of a city filled with disgusting delights where every character deserves our attention in an immersive experience and overall, very rewarding. From the sarcastic and shadowy tone imposed by the countless scenes in the game, to the flexibility we have on the choices to face every situation that is presented, Night City is truly memorable. It’s a shame that the countless bugs spoil or diminish the impact of some resounding moments, but we are without a question, in the presence of one of the best games in 2020.

    Measured against the extreme expectations, Cyberpunk 2077 can't fulfill any of them. But all in all, despite the countless small weaknesses and inconsistences, with interesting characters, great story and dialogues or the freedom concerning gameplay, CD Projekt delivers a unique and great RPG that every fan of the genre needs to play.
