Minor bugs since launch. Amazing story. The game looks phenomenal. Playing a stealth net runner is so much fun. One of the best RPGs of all time. Also, Keanu.

This is a review of the game's state at launch and will update that if it improves substantially later on. I'll preface this by saying I've been an enormous fan of CDPR and Cyberpunk for many years and it sucks to be this disappointed with something I was so excited for.

The critics giving this anything over a 7 were very obviously paid. This is easily the buggiest game I have ever

This is easily the buggiest game I have ever played and I'm shocked it passed certification to release, let alone came from a studio that is known for caring about the quality of their games (queue 'not very polished for a Polish game' joke). Within an hour of play I had hit 6 different progression blocking bugs ("fixed" by rebooting the game), countless graphical/loading bugs, and was blown away by how shallow the game was. After a couple more hours of play I have still seen nothing special about this game, it is not the "most fascinating city in videogame history so far" as IGN puts it, and it does not raise the bar in any way. The prologue we were promised as a Street Kid, Corpo, or Nomad literally lasts 5 minutes. The AI is nearly nonexistent. Interact with NPCs for a second and the simulation crumbles around you. There is no RPG here. Cyberpunk runs, looks, and plays like a game that came out in the year 2000. Getting this to run well on PC is a crap shoot: you either get lucky and have no problems or it's a balancing act of checking Reddit and asking your friends what settings worked for them. Worst of all, the marketing and communication surrounding this game over the years has been nothing but deceitful. They promised some incredible features up until launch day and failed to deliver nearly all of them. This wasn't an understandable issue of "changes during development", but CDPR lying to its fans until launch day. This was so obviously a failure on the part of management/production and it makes me incredibly sad and angry that this is what we waited for. Their project scope was sky high and it looks as if they cut back on nearly all levels. In the end I'm left wondering, "What were they even *doing* for the past 8 years?" Tweeting?

Because some of what I just shared can be ignored as the angry ramblings of an emotional fan, here are some of the biggest issues and bugs that I've seen at launch:

    - Lifeless AI. There's nothing hand crafted about the NPCs, they don't behave in interesting ways, they don't have their own "schedules" or plans as advertised. Show the slightest bit of aggression or fire at enemies nearby and they'll forever stay in a crouched, cowering animation. Literally forever, they don't snap out of it even after they've been saved from gang members or the threat is neutralized. Driving AI is nowhere to be seen as well. Leave your car in the middle or even the side of the street and traffic is backed up for miles. NPCs will stop at green stoplights and never start driving again. This is classically seen in games in Alpha or Beta stages but at release? That shouldn't happen.

    [Link omitted per site rules]

    - Graphical issues. My character is always bald when looking in a mirror, ignoring all hair and clothing. Most mirrors are completely broken, displaying a black box. Character detail is lacking and blurry. LOD pop-in and graphical glitches are everywhere. Placeholder DEBUG text can literally be seen everywhere in the game.

    [Link omitted per site rules]

    - Next to no character customization (on both personality and visual levels). Your V will look and act essentially the same as everyone else's V. Cyberpunk promised much more than this. Tattoo, limb, body enhancements... everything is either lacking or missing entirely.

    - Too many missing quality of life features to list, please see the following thread:
    [Link omitted per site rules]
Cyberpunk literally needed another 6 months to a year of dev time and that still wouldn't fix the missing features and content that were advertised. They knew this was coming and didn't let reviewers use their own gameplay footage before launch to minimize losses. CDPR has absolutely tarnished their reputation, but I'm sure they'll support the game for years to come. At the moment though I would not recommend this game in the slightest and I hope they take this seriously.

The story is perfect, the replayability is perfect (im on second replay with a mod menu), gameplay could use some new weapons and is a bit stiff, city is amazing only gripe is those god damn NPC ragdolls (they are so flimsy and die easily please fix the NPCs), and finally the performance on my i7 CPU with a GPU of AMD RX XFX 5700 XT with high textures, mostly medium settings (with some high and some low), 1440p Resolution, and with Dynamic FidelityFX CAS at MIN 90 MAX 100, I get an average of 55 - 70 fps. On my first play through I had the same settings but on high settings WITHOUT Dynamic FidelityFX CAS and I STILL got an avg of 40-55fps. The bugs are noticeable but the only ones that seems to stick out in the mainstream are the scene where a main character dies in a car and they have nothing in their hand when they are supposed to be giving you something and the other one is a lady after a side quest ends (the one where u and her go to the docks) stands in place and starts a walking animation but then it cuts half way through and it does this over and over. Also it has multiple endings depending on the certain side quests you do. I got an ending that imo, is the best but I want to play again and definitely try to get another one. Overall, after some free DLC and bug fixes within the next 6 months it is easily a 10/10 and on the same level of a game as RDR2 but for now because the DLC and bug fixes are not out it is a 9/10 for me. Cant wait for the multiplayer and really hyped to see how that goes down. One final thing, because of the endings I have seen online and the one I got I am more than intrigued to see how a DLC adds extra content. Also FINALLL thing, there are mod menus and mods so dont worry about the game dying. This game will last the same how RDR2 lasted and RDR2 is still lasting as a amazing game so they already said they will turn cyberpunk into a franchise so I am hyped for CDPR's next moves and I hope you get this game. Missing a ton of content that was hyped, also missing a ton of basic content that could have been there.

The map isn't great, the missions and enemy AI become boring very fast. There's just so much wrong with it I don't know where to start.

However, besides that, it fully deserves being the biggest launch in single player games history. And a twitchy keyboard control (please, PLEASE a walk button and a better vehicle turning curve), but that I solved by playing on part controller, part keyboard + mouse. Oh, and for bugs... well, there are bugs, sure. They happen everywhere. In a project THIS big and ambitious, I’d say, there are actually relatively _few_ bugs. I’m playing on i7 6400, 16GB RAM, 1070 8GB, all ultra, 144FPS with some drops in HD.

Iconic game. We will look back on this game and it will be a benchmark.

Many of these negative PC reviews for Cyberpunk 2077 on here are actually for the last-gen consoles. People are upset, but they are going over the top. People will hate it if they reduce the graphics pre-launch and it seems like they will hate it if they improve it post launch. You can't win.

Those opinions come from people who either, a) were reviewers who played an older, unpatched version, or b) people who don't even play this game but still think they have the right to criticise. Both are wrong.

I'm writing this while having Cyberpunk paused on the second screen. I'm about 10 hours in and the story is starting to really take off. It's incredible. Night City is massive, colourful, full of violence, sex and any crime under the sun. Corporations run the world and human life is worth less than nothing. It's nasty dirty place, full of nasty dirty people - and it's glorious in its nastiness and dirt.

The sound and graphics are absolutely top notch. CDPR did an unbelievable job optimizing the hell out of this game. My ancient GTX 970 can somehow run this baby on medium settings at rock-solid 60fps - and on mere medium it looks already amazing. Anyone who can run this on ultra would probably have their mind blown. I have no idea what kind of black magic CDPR used to make this possible, but I'm eternally grateful. If you have an older rig, don't be afraid. This game is so old-rig-friendly you'll make it run on pretty much anything.

There IS a number of graphical glitches that would be right at home in any Bethesda open world game, but nothing game-breaking. I had the game sort of break exactly once in the past 10 hours: the visuals froze in a flashback sequence but I was still able to move around, except being unable to see what the hell I was doing. It also happened as Cyberpunk was downloading a patch in the background so possibly it's not even the game's fault, but rather my own since I couldn't wait to play.

    Pros:
    + stunning visual representation
    + engrossing world
    + obsessive attention to detail
+ great voice acting and sound design
    + smooth gameplay
+ superb optimization on older machines
    + intriguing story

    Cons:
    - minor visual glitches

How to best describe this game? It's Skyrim/Bethesda Fallout on steroids, mixed with some Watch Dogs and GTA, and a hint of the Batman Arkham series for the braindance mechanic. It's everything I've wanted and more. It's not the polished experience we've come to expect from CDPR, but it's also incredibly big and ambitious. At this scale, a bug-free game is an impossibility.

I'm having an absolute blast despite an occasional spazzing NPC. It's a flawed game, but one that had tonnes of love and effort put into it. If you like massive, open worlds you can get lost in for weeks, get Cyberpunk. The hacking is fun. The combat is smooth. It looks and sounds great, and it's fun. Not much else you can ask for from a piece of electronic entertainment. No, it's not groundbreaking. It's not innovative. But what it does, it does very well.

Alright, time to go back. See ya in Night City, choombas!

I've only encountered a few small bugs myself, not nearly to the level that some people have claimed they've seen. That being said, this is all from a pc player's perspective. I can't give the game full marks because the version released on console should honestly have been delayed at least a few more months to ensure that it could run in a reasonable manner. It can be fixed certainly, but it really should have been a pc exclusive launch at first if they were really desperate to release it when they did. All in all, the game itself is amazing, but performance is auch bigger issue than it should have been. 8/10 for now, but easily capable of being a 9 or maybe even a 10 with bug fixes and more optimization. This game is fundamentally broken. Period. As a consumer, please disregard the “professional” reviews that say “Amazing but flawed game 10/10”. It’s fundamentally flawed.

This game is broken beyond patching. The NPC AI is completely non-existent. The “wanted” police system is programmed to auto spawn police immediately in any location. The open world environment doesn’t render properly. Additionally, the story is ruined with sub-par rendering/graphics and long loading screen. The combat is flat, stale, and filled with unintelligent enemies that function as bullet sponges.

The most puzzling and absurd thing about this game is the ability to customize your genitals but your complete inability to change your hair cut, tattoo or customize your car. If you actually want a competent, fully realized, open-world RPG action adventure game please revisit (decade old) GTA5 which is lightyears ahead of this game.

This game most likely cannot be fixed by patches. It needs to be torn down and rebuilt from scratch.

I really want to give this game a fair shake, but the level of bugs on display should make Bethesda blush. I have never seen a game released in such a broken state since Anthem. I can't believe I have to write that, but it's true. Is there a brilliant game lying under all these bugs? No. Even if it were perfect and bug free this game is not over an 8/10. Why? Read on.

The gameplay systems on offer are completely unbalanced, broken, and appear to be barely playtested. You can combine stat bonus using both multipliers and percentages in infinite loops, completely breaking the damage and leveling curve. You can, at very near the beginning of the game, create a pistol with the damage of a nuclear missile. Stealth is very difficult in the early game, and near impossible. You can maybe stealth around a couple of guys, but then everyone ends up alerted and there is no reset for that to go back into cover or lose them. In the late game, stealth becomes so easy, you can just blind everyone and walk past them. There is no middle ground.

Crafting is utterly useless, as they basically created a looter-shooter, not a RPG. You are always just using whatever gun has the highest stats, and whatever you pickup is always more powerful than anything you can craft. The currency is completely unbalanced. Everything cool in this game isn't really purchasable until there is no time left to actually use any of it. Stat checks throughout the game are generally so low, that even min-maxing a character will result in you passing them with your lowest spec'd stats. Half of this game you are driving around, and the driving is the worst in any open world game I have ever seen. It's so bad you will either laugh or cry your way through the game, every time you get in a vehicle.

Then we get to the story. Yeah, there are some good story beats, interesting twists, but the payoff in any of the endings (I've seen them all, thanks to YouTube), feel very weak. Impossible for me to give detail without spoiling it, so I won't. Only to say that, Keanu is just wrongly cast in this as a really unlikable anti-hero that just wants to watch the world burn. At the end of the game, everything feels so pointless, like you only ever had the illusion of control throughout the experience. "It's about the journey, not the end" I hear you saying. For the time you spend with this game, much of it is very unexciting with your typical fetch quests for characters you don't care about. There are one or two standouts, and some great performances on display, but everyone in this world is just horrible, and that seems to be the point.

The real thing that rubs me wrong is just the state that this was released in. Playing through this game right now is an exercise in futility. I had to reload my saves so many times for stupid, stupid bugs. Things like broken missions, gun spec pop-ups stuck on the screen, unkillable enemies, and experienced 9 crashes across my playthrough. Performance on my 2070 Super, which should be no slouch is 1440p is just unbearable, I constantly saw drops below 30 fps when roaming, and never could hit 60 locked in any area of the game. I'm all for ambition, but you can't build a game for PCs and video cards that aren't even out yet. Your base experience needs to at least be playable.

People point to Witcher 3 having bugs, and how CDPR was so dedicated to fixing it. This is very, very different. Witcher 3 was NOTHING like this on launch. This game is in an unplayable state that most Early Access games exceed. If you dip your toe in the water, keep that refund timer running, because I do think you will refund this game, as many are. Please don't buy this game right now, wait for the developer to at least patch it to a level that lets you experience it as it was intended. This is absolutely a Fallout 76 / Anthem / No Man's Sky moment, and it is very sad to see that from a well respected developer. My, how the mighty have fallen.

It should NOT have been open world. I love CDPR but they were clearly not able to pull this off. Over promising and under delivering is an understatement. Features they claimed make a difference, make none. Your character is not your own. Nearly all decisions are made for you. Enemy ai? You'd be lucky to see them take cover. Bullet sponges. Loads of useless. Civilian AI & police AI is non existent. I could go on and on about how this company lied to you. This game is as vast as an ocean but as deep as a puddle. Honestly one of the best games i’ve ever played. The same people who are angry about the game being buggy are the same ones who cried about the delays and kept bugging cdpr to just release it. I’m playing on base xbox one and even though I have encountered a few technical bugs and some glitches, the story is so good and the world is so immersive I was able to completely overlook them.

Dense crowded and immersing world - of buggy NPCs, they de-spawn as soon as you are 5 feet away from them, they have generic behavior, generic lines and attitude, kids appear with grown up voice and actions.

Amazing graphics - There is something so broken with this engine, I get 45 fps with High + Raytracing, it looks like next gen. If I set it to low I get 58fps and it looks like a PS3 game, like shouldn't that be higher?

Driving and Traffic - I don't even know how to get started on this, it feels like whoever did this never drove in their lives or played any game with cars for all that matters, bikes are even worse. Random cars spawn without AI so they stay in the middle of the street and **** traffic up. Pedestrians often think you are going to run over them even when you are a totally normal safe distance from the sidewalk and as a result they jump in front of your car in the middle of the street. Don't be amazed when you see a NPC running into a wall continuously.

Storytelling - This is such a boomer game, this is 2077 if you just took 1977 mentality and applied a bunch of tech on top. Storylines are so shallow and characters are just so predictable, they even use famous lines from other games and media in a bunch of quests. Quests are given to you in such a random manner, sometimes they just show up in your journal and you don't know even why.

NPC Perception - Throw a grenade near some enemy (where they don't notice) and hide before the explosion... too bad, everyone in a 5 mile radius know your exact location right now and they won't forget. Unless you move away from that spot unnoticed, suddenly no one knows where you are even without checking that you are not there anymore.

Shooting - Oh, your weapon has a equipped sigh, how about we keep the UI crosshair while you are aiming and completely not aligning with the sigh position. Oh you are aiming again, nice time to light up all objects of interest in the environment and make everything look bright blue/green and very confusing.

Character Creation - "Look you can customize a penis, it's such a deep customization"... no, just no. You can barely customize anything, also the penis is just for you to look at in the menus. Your character is in underwear through the whole game.

Key biding - You can't change half of the key functions in the game, specially the ones that are in horrible places like I,J,K,L,O,M,N

Menu-ing - Menus are controlled by cursor, except you need keys for half of the stuff. It's pointing with mouse and clicking/holding a key to perform an action. Bonus, can't go back with mouse only... you can navigate layers deep into the menus with the mouse, then you HAVE TO use ESC to go back.

Object duplication - I lost count of how many objects just appear duplicated or without animation through the world

Corrupted Save files - happened to me twice, also game auto-saving as soon as I entered combat on accident. I just let go of the keyboard and watched my character dying again and again for half an hour.

There were issues with the LOD system clearly removing and adding buildings and objects near the player.

I ran the game on an RTX 3090, AMD Threadripper 3970x. was able to achieve 4K 60fps with DLSS set to Auto, but not on Quality. the FPS elements were not fluid at all though, so I preferred to play it out at 1080p and only switched for long drives, sightseeing & roaming.

I hope this is a lesson learned for CDPR. One look at glassdoor reveals many development issues. Sad.

Outside of the characters and mission structure everything else is “meh”
The menus are a tire fire to say the least. Trying to figure out how to do something for the first time is just a bunch of random clicking and hoping it will work out. Once you figure something out it is fine, but before then it can be a struggle. The city is very “alive” until you look closer. Besides the 500 shootings that happen in this city, there is not much going on. The premade missions that happen all over are fun and interesting. Some of them have problems but they are minor. Outside of the scripted events there is no sporadic events.
The game is fun, I enjoy what frustrations have come. Hopefully, over time, they can resolve the small things to make a decent game great.

I've only crashed once, but I hear from many of my friends that they've crashed multiple times. That is obviously an issue, but the insane amount of bugs and poor optimization that infests this game is overwhelming. I have a GTX 2070 and can't drive through the city with more than 40 FPS at Medium settings with no RTX. I encounter a visual bug every 5 minutes. It really pulls you out of the experience. Again, the story is incredible, I'm 25 hours in and I'm absolutely loving the gunplay, customization, and the story. If you can look past the bugs and optimization issues (which I highly doubt you can), you'd be a fool or SJW to give this game any less than a 9. The problem is, you can't overlook them, they stick out like a sore thumb, and for that, I have to give the game a 6. If they eventually patch out all the issues and optimize this game, I will happily no questions asked, give the game a 10. It really does deserve that, but they need to fix these issues, it's unbearable. Expand

No wonder my surprise when i start the game and find a disaster of a game, a buggy inferno with broken features all over. Talking about features, the game promised to be ground breaking when talking about how decision making in the game would affect your progress, or how your background would be important. None of this matters, you can't save NPC's from undesired fates, or create a personality for your character (not even customize your appearence after the game's beggining). All of it was a lie to sell an unfinished and broken game to 8 million ppl and counting in pre sales. Even the decision of sending Pc copies instead of the ordinary console copies can be viewed as an attempt to prevent the press to give a bad review hours before the game's launch, which could cost millions of dollars in canceled pre orders. I cant make myself to continue playing a broken game on ps4, and i will wait for new patches and fixes. Because the bugs destroy any immersion that an RPG is supose to create.
To list a few problems: Error in graphics in a vatiety of ways like flickering, stuttering, low textures, delayed rendering, missing object collision, npcs and enemies broken AI, few npcs and vehicles in the street, no interaction at all from npcs not meant for quests, no random events, npcs and objects floating, audio bugs, hud bugs, tutorial bugs, flashing, spawning everywhere, invisible objects, no possibility of keeping stolen vehicles, no interation with the world, lack of cutscenes of importance when upgrading your implants (if feels like switching clothes), game crashes constantly, etc. The game doesn't even work properly, so a 5 rate is impossible. A 3 is a very good rating when talking about the worst launch titled i ever seen in my life.

It's not perfect. There are numerous glitches. CDPR has proved over their history thus far that this game will continue to be supported, and I believe it will be adjusted and performance will improve shortly. But this is possibly the most interesting RPG released since the Witcher, despite its faults.

But the difference in the frame rate is quite huge and will definitely impact the gameplay. Good thing tho, I never experienced any crashes during my play time. I tried to explore every streets and buildings that can be interacted with. I am extremely excited to pre order the game and when it worked in my PC, I played the game for 28 hours which made me finish only the prologue. I grind my way to Night City just to see all its glory and experience what is it like to live on a cyberpunk world. However, considering the amount of bugs and glitches that I have experienced, I then realized that this game is not really at its best right now. I understand that glitches can be fixed but what disappoints me most is the actual gameplay such as cops are instantly spawning beside the player, broken crime system and many more. Story wise, it doesn't really worth investing since the game narrative is kinda bland. It's kinda hard to connect to a protagonist in a 1st person perspective. I wanted to see V's reaction and facial expression instead of just choices I selected that he voiced out . If the game will have a compete make over within 5 - 6 months from now, I might still change my review but for now, the game is a disappointment. Expand

I want to say off the bat this is one of my favorite games in a while by far and without a doubt my favorite single player game. The game runs fine on my computer (2070 Super, i7 7700k, and 32 gb of ram.) I've put roughly 30 hours into the game and have completed the story, I will however go back and try to achieve more endings and likely 2 or 3 more playthroughs of the game. Still feels I've barely scratched the surface with all the side missions and whatnot.

There were bugs in the game but I've accepted that most any game that releases nowadays will have bugs in them, minor or big. Most bugs I've encountered were purely visual. And some of the bugs can be quite amusing and added to my enjoyment of the game, like when I meant to call a car, accidentally called my bike, called my car immediately and saw the marker for the bike go flying into the air. A couples times I had to quick save then load that save because a mission wouldn't pop up but it did not bother me.

I really did like the story and there were quite a few somber moments. I have only gotten one ending myself and it was very bitter sweet and felt like a good ending for the V I had created.

The combat in the game is really fun too. The guns feel smooth yet powerful. One part of the game I did not expect myself to fall in love with is the stealth. The stealth is extremely fun and I despise stealth 9 times out of 10. I love the way you can perform double kills with a quick hack and a bullet to the other enemy's head.

The side missions / quests are also pretty fun. None of them fall into the repetitive feeling many side missions in other games do. A lot of the time they are "fetch" quests, go here, kill this person or collect this item, but they feel unique.

I love this game so far and think it is great. You can also pet a cat which I've never seen another open world game let you do so 10/10 would pet again.

Character development in the meaning of perks and stuff is a little meh in my opinion. There is a lot of perks about damage and stuff but only small % of them is about unlocking new mechanics because you are so good at something. But certain levels at something unlock more options in the missions which is really nice.
Driving cars and motorcycles is stiff.
Shooting is not bad but could be done much better.
Character movement in my opinion is really stiff and clunky. Some controls are really unintuitive. Some moves are not available. But it is definitely playable.

After all. CDPR always were really good at writing stories and they did this as good as always.
It is their first game like that and it's not a masterpiece. But it was expected.

And to say that other unrelated aspects to this game are bad because of the technical issues is utter nonsense. Having played nearly 20 hours of this game, it has absolutely delivered on storytelling, and world aesthetics the developers were going for. Over time as this game becomes more accessible the weaknesses it has at launch will fade and all the things it gets right will get better. Runs beautiful on PC, played around 10 hours, have found some bugs but nothing affecting gameplay a lot. I love the world, the features are often hard to understand at first glance because they are complex, but when you give it some time you'll start to learn and use them properly and it feels great. I'm so excited to explore and lvl up my char and find out more about the story.

Perfect imperfection. While the game may be buggy and the prologue somewhat lacking, this game makes up with the densely designed world, excellent characters and in-depth side-quests.

Witcher 3 was amazing game (for me best game till this masterpiece came out) but Cyberpunk 2077 is... oh boy.... something else. Definetely the most immersive, biggest, most enjoyable RPG experience so far in gaming industry.

Story is catching, well writen, heartbreaking, You instantly have deep connection with characters. Graphics quality is jaw-dropping. I simply can't believe my own eyes when I'm roaming streets of Night City.

The choice possibilty in questlines is staggering. Sometimes I wish I could play 3 playthroughs at once just to experience multiple outcomes of my every decision. It's mind boggling how just after decision is made story hints how action would have changed if Your decision have been different. Hard to explain this feeling because it's first time game does something like this to me.
The multiple possibiliy of solving quest is remarkable same as multiple ways of developing Your character. You can use brute force and kill everyone opponet with bare hands or with white weapons or You can max Your guns and rain Your opponents with bullets of every kind, or You can hack devices to works against enemys or You can simply move quielty beetwen them without even touching them or simply taking down them gently and quietly.

Driving is very fine better than I expected, shooting is also very good. There are minor glitches or bugs but so far I haven't experienced any major or game breaking bugs. Sometimes I feel like AI could be better or more chalenging and movement of NPC could get more fine tunning. Other than that I can't say bad word about this game. If I remember corectly (it was over 5 years ago) Witcher 3 had same problems at lunch and in the end became one of greatest if not the greates RPG ever created.

As for technical performance it works like a charm for me. My PC setup is GeForce GTX 1070 TI, AMD Ryzen 2700X, 16GB 3200 15CL, SSD ADATA SU800. I play on Ultra settings with medium or low shadows and without DLLS and Ray Tracing for obvious reasons. I have over 60 FPS on 1920x1080 with newest GPU drivers.

I believe If You have same as me or better PC setup You should forget all of those negative reviews this game is a must for RPG fan.

It's not GTA or Call of Duty or Deus Ex and thank god it's not. It's something else, something better, like a movie where You decide how action will go. It is a long game. It took me over 12 hours just to finish prologue. I expect to play as long as I did with Witcher 3. So over 200 hours at least with one playthrough and those will be multiple.

(pc player) To be honest, I had more than a few issues trying to play, let alone boot up the game, on launch day. However, since the hot fix patch, I am satisfied with the game play and story that this game offers (albeit with a few bugs/glitches here and there, which are more hilarious than game breaking). overall, Great experience! Looking Forward to what else this game has in store!

The game does have some issues. I play on an Xbox one S, and the graphics are not super great. Their have been some instances of crashes, but overall it's not a deal breaker. The game has some great story telling. The world building is fantastic. The missions are all interesting and sometimes exciting. Definitely not your typical fetch quests. This game is a winner!

I wanted to love this game but in its current state, there's no way I can recommend this game to anyone.

While not game-breaking, there are way too many visual and small bugs. Optimisation is poor as well, even though I don't have a top-end PC (2070, 5600x and 32GB RAM) I get big FPS dips below 60 at random points in the game and can't maintain a stable 60 FPS at most times. There also

Optimisation is poor as well, even though I don't have a top-end PC (2070, 5600x and 32GB RAM) I get big FPS dips below 60 at random points in the game and can't maintain a stable 60 FPS at most times. There also might be a memory leak issue? Had to reboot the game to fix my FPS after several hours.

The AI in the game is terrible, NPCs walk away and phase out of the game. Even happens with named NPCs, like the bouncer outside Lizzie's Bar. Nothing like what the devs claimed of "over 1,000 unique NPCs that have their own unique daily routines." Another example is when it comes to the police, they just spawn right behind you when you're wanted.

Onto the intro and choosing your lifepath, it seemingly ends within 30 or so minutes. I thought it was a major decision that was supposed to affect your game but you suddenly get a timeskip and you're already settled in in Night City. I've seen instances where you get additional dialogue options but they don't seem to have any consequences so far. Nothing more than filler.

An improvement can also be made for various QOL features, such as being able to change your character's appearance (hair, tattoos, etc) after the character creation, ability to toggle walk on keyboard, minimap being too zoomed in to the point it's almost useless. Furthermore, the inability to rebind certain keys is also ridiculous on PC and not being able to change more specific settings such as sensitivity for aiming.

Looking at gameplay and more specifically stealth combat (as that is what I've currently spec'd as), it seems more like an after-thought. When you're hiding behind wast-high cover you may as well not be, because all enemies can see you anyway. Also when you're crouching, a lot of the time you end up dodging when trying to make minor positioning adjustments (unless you rebind the keys in the ini file), which then reveals you to the enemies.
Additionally driving doesn't feel good either. This might be subjective, but the driving is overly sensitive. I have more trouble keep the car straight and not crashing than anything else.

I love the world, the atmosphere and the game feels good when it works. But the problem is a lot of the time there's things that take you out of the game, whether it's bad performance, visual bugs or poor AI (such as when you're talking to NPCs for a quest and other NPCs just walk inbetween you several times). Wait for the game to be patched, and I mean several patches before buying. The game is very reminiscent of Witcher 3's initial release.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I thought this game was supposed to be about V, not about Jhonny Silverhand. If you really wanted Keanu to play bigger role - you should have made Silverhand main protagonist like Geralt in W3. Story doesnt offer any roleplaying - every choice is meaningless, dialogue options are just illusions. The more you move towards the end of story -the more about Silverhand it is. Even the ending doesn't allow V to change outcome of having biochip, nor to betray everyone, nothing. It's all fixed.

I wonder how many CD RED employees with fake email accounts are logging into metacritic to keep the user score above a 5? It's bad. They should have continued on the success the Witcher had.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The game is buggy yes, but not unplayable - just infuriating at times. More importantly the core game is not broken -> things that really matter: Story, Visuals, Characters / NPCs, Voice acting, etc are all top notch. I think the bugs can be fixed in a month or two, once they release a couple of patches

Have played for 8 hours so far - yes I had to reload saves a couple of times, had to google to find how to get around bugs a couple of times. But have also jumped off a sky scraper, been backstabbed and shot in the head, got to be friends with an NPC - close enough to really feel sad when he died, did a mission impossible style heist .. and oh ya set off a nuke / have keanu reeves trying to take over my brain.

This is an amazing game - takes some time to get used to the systems, but is fun and has an engaging story. If the bugs bother you, just wait for 2-3 months until a couple of patches are released.

I was going to knock off a couple of points for the bugs, but decided to just reduce one to compensate for all the 0 ratings that people have been giving.

The best metaphor for Cyberpunk 2077 is Johnny Silverhand himself. A messiah, a mix of Kurt Cobain and Che Guevara, a talented singer who loves to shape his own legend and has a charming personality but loses the struggle with his own demons. The same goes for the game. It tells a great story and forced me to ask myself difficult questions, but many of its gameplay mechanics do not evolve and its technical state upon release was abysmal. Cyberpunk’s true hero is not a person, but Night City – a vibrant, living creature of great diversity. The beauty of the metropolis is striking. [01/2021, p.22]

Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the most disturbing and mind-blowing RPGs in history, where every decision has a deep impact on our trail. CD Projekt RED tosses us to the center of a city filled with disgusting delights where every character deserves our attention in an immersive experience and overall, very rewarding. From the sarcastic and shadowy tone imposed by the countless scenes in the game, to the flexibility we have on the choices to face every situation that is presented, Night City is truly memorable. It’s a shame that the countless bugs spoil or diminish the impact of some resounding moments, but we are without a question, in the presence of one of the best games in 2020.

Measured against the extreme expectations, Cyberpunk 2077 can't fulfill any of them. But all in all, despite the countless small weaknesses and inconsistences, with interesting characters, great story and dialogues or the freedom concerning gameplay, CD Projekt delivers a unique and great RPG that every fan of the genre needs to play.
