Generally the characters are alright and the relationship system works but no character other than maybe Jonny stands out. The world is my personal highest point it feels alive when it isn't glitchy. But on the topic of glitches... I had heard stories of the amount of glitches and Im sure they will eventually be ironed out but it was actually shocking how many glitches I encountered. I would be willing to bet that I saw a glitch consistently every 5 minutes and my playtime was about 21 hours when I finished. So really it comes down to how well you can handle glitches and how long they take to fix them. If you can handle the glitches or if they have been ironed out by the time you play, it will probably be a good experience. Is it worth the money right now? Maybe. After its finished will it be worth it? I would say so yes. Was it worth an 8 year wait? Luckily I didn't wait 8 years. Expand

Even with these components, I am struggling to maintain a framerate of above 60fps consistently, even with Nvidia DLSS enabled in the settings. I have tried multiple remedies for this issue, from completely lowering the in-game settings, to messing around with the Nvidia Control Panel settings, to following guides online to manually edit config files.

I am sure that with time and updates from CDPR, this will become a great game with decent performance, but having bought it on day one, I am extremely disappointed with this game. It is frustrating that many "Triple A" games that release these days are shipped with a "Release now, fix it later" mentality.

Cyberpunk was a wasted opportunity, the first 5-6 hours of this game are really good but after that the game loses everything that was promised to be. The witcher III wasn't perfect but CD Project Red could have easily built upon that game to deliver a way more balanced and variable open-world experience, but Cyberpunk 2077 is none of those things.

From the laughable 'RPG' aspect of the game to strange arcadey driving or the complete lack of interaction with the city / NPCs. The boring sponge-shooting fest that gunfights where you'll empty magazine after magazine into mindless AI, and shovel piles and piles of the same looking gun to clog up the already cluttered and horribly designed interface. The stealth approach is just an exercise in frustration and simply does not work. Most of the items you pick up are completely useless and only serve to make money or 'craft'. Aside from the main & side quests there is simply nothing to do in Night city.

Overall the game tries to convey a sense of complexity and depth but after the few hours playing through the prologue and completing a few quests you soon realise it was all just smoke and mirrors and that the game has the depth of a puddle.

I do not think any amount of fixes or DLC content can make this game any better than just 'mediocre' which is a shame considering the potential that the game's universe had.

Police NPCs just spawn out of nowhere in front of you, do you want to know why? Because there isn't any AI for driving.

So much food stands but you can't even buy food or play arcades machines. The AI is the one the worst things in this game, their reaction from crime is atrocious and do nothing a normal person would do. Life choices don't mean nothing. After the prologue scene at the beginning, everything remains the same throughout the game. Crafting? This was added just to say they have more features.

Only 4 romance options 1 male and female for both genders. Only 2 prostitutes to interact with in the ENTIRE city.

You can't cut your hair because for some reason there's no barber in the entire map.

Don't even start with the insufferable amount of useless looting you'll have to do. There's no picking up everything button.

Aiming require a bit of changes in the settings to feel right. The UI at the beginning was tedious to look at. The screen was almost covered.

I played this on PC as well, so don't blame people that they need to get a new gen console or a PC.

Completely disappointing for a game we all waited for 7-8 years. We were lied to what CDPR marketed the game as the, "New generation of open world games".

Rockstar remains the king of Open World.

If you want the game to run better, I heard downloading the NVIDIA drivers makes it perform better. Also there should be a new patch that was released.

The map is massive and the city looks incredible. The graphics aren't the worst but isn't anything special. The driving is alright, the music is the best part. Voice acting is great but some dialogue are cringe.

This game needs few or several months of patching to do. But even then, the game feels like a soulless experience ruined by the limited interactivity and bugs in the game.

Accounting for all technical glitches players have encountered, there are few aspects of Cyberpunk 2077 which one could call perfected and polished. Be it through creative indecision or a series of development errors, everyone can see the game isn't finished, leaving players with a game which is a jack of all trades but a master of none--scale and story being the possible exceptions.

"This approach to making games is not for everyone. It often requires a conscious effort to 'reinvent the wheel' -- even if you personally think it already works like a charm."

The result should create an ironic element of empathy or at least mutual understanding from both the developers and the consumers. CDPR wanted more for the game, and the players are now left feeling the same. The ability to live out unleashed cyberpunk fantasies aside, there are so many staples of a solid game that are missing. Accessibility features, toggle ADS, and full key re-mapping are just some of the technical norms missing. Those disappointed by the lacklustre character creator--no sliders and limited options to differentiate--won't be pleased by the non-existent capacity to rework their character once into the game; not even the hair can be changed for there are no barbers. Is this an oversight by a seasoned developer? Perhaps, but more likely it was a feature they ran out of time for or it had to be pulled from the game because it wasn't complete or fully implemented. Without purely cosmetic clothing slots and vehicle and apartment customisation--yet more features seen in the Witcher to varying degrees--the immersion is hindered, and it's difficult to truly feel like V is our character. Police spawning behind the player in response to crimes, amateur driving AI, and limited street-side AI reactivity make the deep and commendable world feel like a facade. The cybernetic modifications pale in comparison to Deus Ex's and the driving feels clunky compared to any other non-driving specific game. There is no cover system, and interaction with the world is largely non-existent. The worst accusation in this vein is that Cyberpunk 2077 isn't an RPG, as it was marketed prior to release--now CDPR are calling it an action-adventure game.

And despite all that, Cyberpunk 2077 isn't a bad game--it's terrific. You could accuse it of flattering to deceive and make a good argument that it has disappointed, yet the redeeming features such as gunplay put it on par with existing titles. It isn't next generation by any means, in some instances it's lagging behind and lacks creativity, and that's a shame when the city--the Cyberpunk 2077 world--has been so carefully crafted. With the scale of Night City and all the quests in it, you could easily get lost, unless you should choose to bypass it all with the primitive quick travel system. It's almost prompted with the awful vehicle handling, but then you'd miss out on the fine compliment of music Cyberpunk 2077 has to offer, even if the radio menu slows the gameplay and is as barebones as it gets.

The biggest disappointment is that most aspects of Cyberpunk 2077 come with a caveat. There are awesome looking and function enemies, but they appear too infrequently, replaced by run-of-the-mill goons. V and the cast around him/her are well written, yet they are by and large the only NPCs you can interact with. Reams of lore exist around the cybernetics; they sit on the side lines. CDPR have learnt from their development of the Witcher series, and forgotten some basic principles along the way. The signs are there that Cyberpunk 2077 once had broader horizons, and maybe one day we'll be able to explore them. It's a pity that today, however, it only spars with its competitors when it really should have outmatched them.

At this point I'm about 30 hours into the game, 7% done mainly been doing side missions which is very well designed and very immersive. I've had the usual bug encounters that is reasonable to expect from such a massive game, but then again alsp had some encounters that just showed how this game should have been in production for another year.

Some of the key features you'd expect from a title like this are missing, so I highly recommend the team behind Cyberpunk to start planning some future updates, to clean up the game and make it an actual amazing and breathtaking game, they got a lot of things right, but a lot of the other is either missing or very rushed.

I'd love to see CDPR use some of the profit to get more talent with backgrounds in AI and UI design, the phone and the way crafting works right now is just not polished, and it seems like the developers weren't given enough time to playtest their own game, an example of this could be the crafting your own items. Right now it takes 2 second clicks pr craft, whereas you might have to click multiple thousand times, (theres currently no bundle crafting).

The game is rushed, I love the story so far, the cityscape is simply put just amazing, never seen such a dense metropolis in a video game, yet some key aspects that makes an RPG really flourish is lacking, hope to see some good updates in the future.

When this game works, its a fun and exhilarating experience. I found myself forgetting that this was a game which is a testament to engaging the experience was - WHEN IT WORKED. There are so many bugs that just completely ruined the immersion. dying from falling less than a foot, falling off your bike from a 2 MPH collision while staying on after hitting a wall at 120 MPH, people spawning in walls or props, dialog being randomly unavailable, random T-posing NPCs, the list goes on and on. I also want to mention that this game barely runs at 60 FPS because it for some reason does not fully utilize my GPU. I have a 2060 super, and it just scratches 60% utilization. I really want to give this game a good review, but its hard to do so when CDPR had 9 years to make a game and botched it this bad. I want to reiterate, this game is really good story wise. The game does a phenomenal job developing it's characters and making you really care about them. The voice actors clearly put a lot of effort into the job and it shows. The environment looks absolutely beautiful and really does evoke feelings of a futuristic dystopian America ruled by gangs and mega conglomerates. but all of this good is overshadowed by game breaking bugs and glitches. I would recommend buying the game - just not now. I hope that this game gets the 'No Man's Sky' treatment and all of it's bugs get ironed out. TLDR; good game story wise, don't buy yet. wait for bug quashing fixes and performance improvements for the best experience Expand

Had they waited longer or maybe pushed a limited beta a couple months ago they could possibly have fixed the worst bugs for sure.

My recommendation for people wanting to buy this game is to wait a couple of months, it will be in a much better state since they are collecting bug reports and pushing updates to fix them.

My prediction is that this game could possibly become a solid 9 IF they commit and keep fixing stuff along the way.

A solid game with a fleshed out and compelling story, however where the game excels in world and character it falls very short with the amount of bugs and glitches overall. In a few hours of playing I had crashes out of nowhere which ruined my immersion

Out of all bugs, optimization and all of bad, there still good game you could enjoy, its really cool game. Eventually, its all depends on you: you want cool game with its own history of protagonist, or you want good graphics, good optimization, etc. I recommend you all to play this game, its still "breathtaking" with all of their bugs

They lied when they said "coming when it's ready". It clearly is not. Those who say they don't experience any bugs and praise cd Projekt are part of the problem. The last patch "1.04" fixed the performance barely. But it is improving. Also some bugs are less frequent. But bugs and performance aside the game feels cheap and lacks in pretty much every way:

    -INTERACTION WITH NIGHT CITY-
The game feels lifeless, I'm obviously not expecting a Sims like experience but you can't interact with the environment you'll visit bars, markets and lots of interesting places that are completely useless and have no interaction whatsoever, also npcs won't react accordingly to the environment they just walk and walk lol wtf. Your apartment feels like the only interact able place in night city but has no use or customization.

    -CUSTOMIZATION-
You can't customize your character with prosthetics in the character creator, half of the npcs have them and you only get to use cyberware as a weapon but not as customization. That's lame. -SOME REMOVED FEATURES-
Also they removed wall running and I haven't found a way of using mantis blades for climbing , and I see why, this features were buggy AF that's why they removed it. - AWFUL PERKS AND BUILDS -
Wanna build some sort of cyberpunk assassin? Yeah using blades won't trigger animations when assassinating enemies , you'll always use your bare hands. Wanna throw blades like knives ? Yeah you won't be able to retrieve them back lol, also have a great time finding blueprints for blades or spending thousands in knives.

    - RPG ELEMENTS -
Progression of the character is that bad but RPGS should let you build your class and and have actual impact in your desitions. Like I said If you would like a specific class the game won't let you build that , not even close as we would like. There's a lack of real or impactful desitions, imagine having main characters die just because, lol where's the planing and the desitions making where you actually get a way of getting different outcomes???? Dude they even said that V is a mercenary and that you're not able to join any gangs (factions) wtf is that ? Is this an RPG or a gta with a already set character, this isnt an RPG they even lied in that. - CHARACTER ORIGINS - yeah you get your half an hour origin story but that's everything you get. You get some responses here and there depending of your character but they're so lame and don't really give you a different playthrough. - CONCLUSION - man it is difficult having so much hype and then getting this incomplete experience. No wonder why their stock dropped hard. Would I recommend this? Yeah maybe some dlcs and patches later , but now the experience is disappointing. They shouldn't give release dates, they said "coming when it's ready" just leave it like that ! Am I dying because the game won't fill my expectations? No not at all, but I freaking payed for a product that was marketed in a fake way. Playing on pc is bad , but console players get it even worse and CD Projekt said this runs and looks good on consoles but that's also lies..

Am I having a good time? Well , I'm trying to but I can't feel immersion or have 100% fun having missing textures, slow performance with a decent pc, cars popping, falling from the sky, Quests bugs, inventory glitches, lame lifeless world, very few to no interactions with a world that has details but is useless. Do I hate CD Projekt or cyberpunk? No , i'm just using my right and free of speech to express my concerns about a product I bought.

The substance, (the story, the characters, the animations, the music, the combat etc) is amazing. CD Projekt Red put a lot of time and work on this game and delayed it multiple times over to make sure it's, "coming out when it's ready". However, in it's current state the game lacks a lot of fine tunning and technical stability. The game will crash randomly even at the lowest settings and with constant fps drops in cpu and gpu heavy areas such as when you're driving around in night city. Honestly, it's unplayable right now because you can't really play a game where you lose progress all the time at random.

I uninstalled the graphic drivers about four times with DDU in safe mode and installed the up to date nvidia drivers provided by their website. My graphics card is brand new. I'm not the only one with technical problems either.

I don't recommend this game right now. It's not a complete game from a renowned company such as CD Projekt Red who knew that the game was going to sell well and still decided to release it unfinished when it clearly needed 4-6 more months of stability optimization and fine tunning the systems to make this game a masterpiece.

What I don't like especially is seeing this kind of business practice from CDPR. I don't want games unfinished today and I have to wait weeks and months to be able to play the game I paid full price for. The game should have been released in 2021 around March and May to adhere to the statement, "coming when it's ready". They already made back their development costs from pre orders alone so I don't believe for a second that they couldn't wait 4-6 more months and release a proper experience for players of all platforms to enjoy.

Well to start with I want to point out that I really wanted this game to be good, very good, but the dissapointment is real. To be clear, I'm sitting currently at patch 1.04 with 35h played 4 days after launch and haven't completed the main story neither secondary missions but the issues I'm going to address are not related to that at all.

To start with, the game is buggy, but not a little buggy, really buggy. At this point I cannot count how many bugs I've encountered throughout the gameplay and I can tell no game should come up this way, it sometimes feels like you are playing an early beta version taking into account the ammount of bugs inconsistencies and other aspects all related to the open world section of the game.

Got to say that it all depends of the perspective on which you compare the way the game feels to other games. The problem is that when this game is aiming far to high due to that marvelous marketing that sold it like a revolutionary game, you compare it to the best of the best and it doesn't match that by far, the intention of the game isn't that neither.

So if we don't take into account the bugs because CDProjekt is working on it and I want to believe that they will eventually get their game into a state where this bugs are much less frequent we can say this. The story of the game is definetely interesting and involving, it made me feel like roleplaying it for real since minute one. But things announced like the lifepaths or decision making are not very relevant, specially lifepaths which just give a different prologue for each one and casually a specific dialogue selection on the conversations. Despite this, I truly believe that the story of the game is it's strongest point at the moment.

The secondary missions are the best I may have seen in all the games I've played so far. These missions vary from giving background to many secondary characters and expand the relationship of V with them, to doing simple tasks/jobs to random npcs, which is not boring at all.

Coming to the open world section I find my other major disappointment. The city looks stunning for real, it is definetely the best designed city visually and neighborhoods like Little China or Japantown feel amazing to drive through or walk by. But the problem of this world is that there's not much to do apart from the missions previously mentioned or openworld events where you clear enemies. It is something that when you compare it to the witcher it feels everything is ok, but when you do that to Red Dead Redemption 2 is very underwhelming. The thing is that Cyberpunk 2077 is a roleplaying game, and thing like going to a pub and being able to drink but not get drunk apart from 10 seconds of a slight distortion on the screen, feels like this game lacks attention to detail in the aspecs that could be more relevant instead of in customization of your genitals that is pointless in the game as it doesn't make a difference when you use the escort services. You can't play pool in the afterlife, you can't enter the strip club near your trusted ripperdoc, you can't really do much apart from walking, drinking and eating ocasionally in tents and buy soda cans from vending machines which turns out is pointless because you will be tossing those cans out of the inventory eventually. AI's you see are poorly made, NPCs only react to you when you kill somebody, shoot a gun or punch them (you can't knock them out, they just take your punches like a champ). Police just shoots you when you misbehave and spawn all over the place (preferably right on your back). And driving AI's is basic, all the cars go at the same speed, do the same moves. The only change in this is when you are on a mission and it is rigged for that mission for specific stunts or choreographies.

The driving experience, people have said it is bad, that cars don't turn enough or they slide to much, for me it feels genuine. I understand it is designed to make you slow down for a stiff turn so you don' t loose control of your car or bike. It takes you a while to brake, the faster you go the less you can brake without loosing control, so this is a mechanic that makes you drive like one more NPC (almost) in certain more populated areas of the city. But if this is true why do traffic lights instantly turn green when you get close to them with a vehicle. This are the inconsistencies I talk about, there are many more but I can't really list them all, just expect this kind of things in the game in several aspects of itself.

To sum up, yes I like the game, yes I will keep playing it for sure. But I do want to think that CDProjekt is going to be able to fix it and make it the stunning game we had been announced throughout this years, even though I'm sure is not probable to happen at all. I think they really wanted to make a good game, but I can't tell whether the marketing was too ambitious or the pressure from investors/public accelerated it.

    Wish CDProjekt the best!

Where's that "freedom to be whoever you wanna be or to do whatever you wanna do"? Basically, the game is a straight forward campaign divided in few missions with some side-quests and some chores to do in the between that after spending 20h doing those it gets very repetitive and boring... way behind TW3 quality (Oh those were proper missions).

To be honest, the entire game looks like it has been a last minute change by management or investors - they were going in the right path until decided to do a u-turn to whatever the game is now...crashing on the way.

Even the commercial... my lord... they should step back and remove it cause it's selling the wrong product. Claiming to be fully free to do anything... lol

Hopefully, such a blow will help them reconsider the way they are taking and fix all this.

Wasted potential. Its open world is like a beautiful plant. Fun to look at but other than that, it serves no purpose. Story too short. Writing is average. Your choices does not matter. NPC interactions, AI bad. Romanceable characters are good but their stories left a lot to be desired. This game needed more time in the oven.

It is not a great shooter, it's not a great stealth game, playing with a controller is janky, repetitive side missions shooting and looting will bore most of you and become a tedious grind (unless you're into that)

There is no replayabilty, your choices are meaningless. It is just an OKAY linear action game set in a beautiful world (if your hardware can show you it). Driving is horrible, police AI is the worst I've ever seen in a game. This game was overhyped and not worth $60. Jack of all trades, master of none. Releasing this game early was a corporate cash grab Maybe wait a year for them to fix the bugs and get it on sale for sub $30 and I think you'll be pleased.

Npcs either pedestrian or drivers have absolutely no day and night cycle or routine. The police spawning is complete **** The lifepaths were an utter slap in the face, they last for 15 minutes and all railroad you into the same story. There are no minigames or immersive activities that you can engage in such as dancing, drinking, eating, hooking up with pre-determined npcs or going to strip clubs. That montage was aboslutely ridiculous and they still used it in the trailers as if to say that you could do all that The side stuff mostly includes killing or stealing something. Very limited character creator. Very few acessories and tattoos.

Was i supposed to care about Jackie ? Because you showed a damned montage and the game said that we were all buddies ? That's not how relationships work.

The street cred system also seems to work only so you can buy new guns, mods or cyberware as well as new gigs (shoot or steal). I've only seen my street cred value work once when some gangers were harassing a street vendor but backed off when they knew who i was. Other than that you might as well be some nameless merc,
The world doesn't react to you, people don't talk or write about how much of a badass you are. Romance options are very limited and even after you finish the romance you can barely interact with them after. One of the romance options will text you ONCE after the romance is completed and that is it.
Driving is very floaty and cars are very hard to control. Also a personal complaint is how lame stealth takedowns are, it's always the same two animations of you breaking the persons neck. Much prefer the takedowns in the Far Cry games.
Story and characters are quite good though, really liked Johnny, Takemura and Panam, some of the side missions are super interesting, like the one you do for one of the candidates for mayor of Night City.
The city is absolutely beatiful too and really comes alive at night with all the neon.
Gameplay is ok, the shooting is nothing too innovative but works fine.

The lifepaths, lack of immersive side activities, limited romance options and AI are what soured my opinion towards this game. I will be very wary of the next games CDPR puts out.

After playing almost 100 hours (no life for me), I gotta say everything besides romance and main story are pretty boring and tedious. I tried all the endings with both female and male V, and my favourite is leaving NC with Panan and Judy.
I would like to give a 6/10, since the characters and majority of the main story line are attractive and interesting; also I hope the CDPR could fix the bug fast, implement the missing components, expand much much more story line, and release DLC soon.

Good game with good story line, engaging and fun side activities, and the most impressive graphics I've seen in a video game. BUT the game as major flaws even on PC, the worst are the NPC AI which is non existent and the wanted system.

The NPC are really badly scripted and have basically one hard-coded action for every interaction with them, shoot they will run, throw a grenade they will crouch, park your car in the middle of the street the cars will just wait for you to move they cant go around you, talk to them they will answer about the weather or something completly out of context. Really often you will see pedestrians doing one single action in loop such as walking back and forth from point A to point B, or a motorcycle going in circle.

If you do any crime in outside of predetermined combat zone, it will put the wanted status on you. Doesn't matter if someone saw or heard you or not. The police will literally spawn 10 feet away from you, most often in your back and will start shooting at you. If you enter a car and drive one block away you will lose the wanted status, even if the police still see's you, there's no police chase in the game.

Other minor issues are bugs, ALOT OF BUGS and unfinished content. You will encounter many things that are unfortunately really immersion breaking: environment areas not completed, physics issues, falling through the floor, cars flying (not purposely), NPCs floating, T poses, NPC's cars and environmental objects collisions, animation loops, unfinished/ unpolished cutsceens, and the list goes on and on. I would easily go over the maximum characters limit for this review if I listed everything I personally encountered during my playthrough which was after the day one patch by the way.

Many things that were promised and even shown during the development aren't there in this build. This game needed many additional months of development to be the game that was promised/ marketed and be the game it should've been.

If you are looking for a masterpiece, this is not the one. If you are looking for a single player action game, with a good story and interesting non-repetitive side activities this might just be the game for you if you're willing to look over the bugs and the unfinished/ unpolished content you will encounter every now and then. Night city isn't the place we were promised but is worth visiting.

It is, unfortunately, not an RPG game. There is no customizability after character-creation.
You can't even look at yourself during the game, unless you 'turn on' a mirror.

Your cars, apartment, hair, makeup, body-parts, etc., were all promised customization features that somehow disappeared from the final game. Further, your choices in dialogue and quest approach have zero effect on the outcome of the game. The game is frustratingly linear, and your decision to kill everyone, hack everyone, or negotiate your way out of quests really doesn't matter. The same outcome occurs.

The only saving grace is the character development and quest storyline.

I'm going to ignore bugs for this review, because while I had some I didn't have anything game breaking. This game could run absolutely perfect and would still be a disappointing experience. I'm going to ignore bugs for this review, because while I had some I didn't have anything game breaking. This game could run absolutely perfect and would still be a disappointing experience. This does not feel like a AAA game, it looks like one, but does not behave like one. I am not exaggerating when I say GTA 3 on the PS2 has better systems and design than this game.

Let's start with vehicles. Handling is generally bad for the player. Vehicles either have extremely stiff steering to the point you will leave skid marks trying to make a turn going 20 MPH(and still not be able to make the turn), or they are so floaty that barely turning the wheel will turn you completely sideways.

Any AI controlled vehicle that is scripted to go somewhere is a complete tank. It will continue to it's path ignoring traffic and signals. Any vehicle in this scripted vehicle's way will literally just be thrown in the air out of the way. Normal AI will also run you over with no issue and keep driving. But on the flip side there is almost no place to park in this game. So, you park on the sidewalk but often if even a small part of your vehicle is on the road it will cause a huge traffic jam. There are also many areas the game just won't let you drive. So, if you thought you could ride your motorcycle through a short cut you will find yourself just being stuck. It will often just force you to get off your bike or car.

AI in general is awful. Normal civilians cower in fear at everything. They don't even try to run usually. You can come out from doing a mission in a building to see tons of NPC civilians all over the place just hunkered down in fear. In combat enemies often do nothing. If you play a run and gun style it is stupid easy. You can literally run up to NPCs that are in cover and stand right next to them and they will just stare at the wall. If you commit a crime police just constantly spawn right next to you regardless of were you are. It's surprising there is any crime in Night City at all.

The main story is very short and most of it is padded with dialog. When it comes to actually playing the game you won't do much of that here. There aren't a ton a side quests and many of them don't involve anything but dialog. Most of actual gameplay comes from doing "gigs" and going to active crime scenes. Active crime scenes are boring often just 3 to 5 enemies out in the open to kill.

Some gigs are interesting some not. All of them are very short. And once you complete these things there is nothing to do in this game at all. They could have at least made radiant gigs with scaling enemies in the many buildings in the game to provide something to do but they didn't. Once you finish this stuff, this game is over. You could start a new character and try a different play style, but you will have to suffer through a lot of unskippable boring parts of the story.

Who your character is means little in this world. Advertised as the way you look will make an impact but it doesn't. There are many times the game stripped me naked and I forgot to put clothes back on. Nobody said a word about this, it didn't matter what I looked like or dressed like. And customization is lacking. If you thought you could get cool robotic visual parts like the NPCs have you'll be disappointed.

Your lifestyle choice is also a joke. All this does is change the first 10 minutes of the game. You get a couple different dialog choices here and there that don't impact anything. You also get a small side quest but that's it. No matter your background you will end up living at the same place, driving the same car, knowing the same people, and advancing through the plot down the same path.

The few decisions you make through out you may not even realize have effects on things. This is actually interesting world building. The problem is they are far and few. And the differences are so small that it's not worth playing through again to see what something else would have done. And many choices lead no where.

Overall this game is a wreck. That being said I was still able to enjoy it. It has a ton a potential but many parts of the game at this point seem like a concept build. If they can fix AI, fix scripting, add more things to do, add some radiant gigs, a lot more quests, add better and more customization it would be so much more acceptable. Some things are too late to change like more weight to decisions, and having your life path choice be more interesting. So, even with the fixes and sorting out bugs this game will never be great it can still be good though. I pray for an overhaul and DLC that will make it worth starting a new game.

Best radio stations in a game since San Andreas. Always good to have a radio station playing hard techno while trying to turn a corner without fishtailing.

I had a few issues, I restarted the game 4-5 times to get rid of bugs, though I was running on lowest graphics settings because my graphics card is outdated. Lots of glitches though.

A decent game to spend 40-50 hours to complete the story, side quests fun but mostly generic RPG quests. Hoping there will be some major updates becuase they are needed for a full experience (DRIVING IS TERRIBLE). If considering buying this game, wait until it goes on sale or players comment on changes made when updates and patches are released, there is little value for paying full price in the state it is in currently.

The game runs like garbage, glitches are everywhere, practically no player choice (No game-changing choices but just small ones). It feels like it could have been in development for the next 2 years at least. Hopefully, the free DLC coming out next year will make the game better. The game isn't bad... but just is nowhere near good even if it wasn't glitchy as ****

(I played over 100 hours) All I want to say is that after completing the game I had the feeling that I passed the game from Ubisoft, a huge bunch of additional quests that are made just to prolong your stay in the game - this is my main complaint about the game. As for the pros: great music, not a bad style (for my taste), there are interesting quests and characters (although there are very few of them). Now to the cons: a VERY short main campaign (it is quite interesting, but very short), a huge number of uninteresting additional quests (about 60%), a weak romantic line (especially in comparison with the witcher), I don't have much to say about optimization(1060 6gb, i5-7400, 8gb RAM, personally, I had almost no problems with fps, it only bothered that often NPCs did not load and machines disappeared in the visible area)
Bottom line: I do not regret that I paid money for this game, but it turned out at times worse than the witcher trilogy. Very weak additional tasks are definitely not the level of a cd project, optimization problems, in my opinion, are not even the main problem of this game, there are not very many really memorable characters, interesting tasks and a really dead world in which manual work on the world is not felt. It's a pity I was waiting for this game for 3 years and I didn't think that it would blow up the industry, I was just waiting for a good game with interesting characters and stories, but I got a game that consisted of 40% of the game from the cd project and 60% of the game from Ubisoft ...
I also forgot to mention that the game often has the "illusion of choice" as it was in the Telltale Games games.

i was waiting this game for 2 years, i thought it will be polished just like The Witcher 3 but the game is unfinished, there is nothing to do outside the quest : no barber, you cannot customise your cars, there is nothing to buy outside a few implants in the ripperdocs store (there is no need to bought gun, you loot a better version 20 minutes after the purchase.)
The game will always feel empty, even after the patchs that will remove bug and improve IA, Cyberpunk 2077 will still be a quick game that you can finish in 30 hours and forget about it a week after.
I'm still giving a 6/10 because the city/graphics are beautiful, and the (short) story is really good.

I didn't really follow the hype leading up to the release of Cyberpunk. Only ever saw a few images and maybe minutes of a trailer, and Keanu Reeves showing up on stage. Thought I'd pick it up and try it when it released. With expectations so high, I figured this has to be a great game.

Cyberpunk takes gameplay aspects from a few other big titles. The open world mission based progression from GTA. The stealth/aggression FPS combat from Far Cry. And the level up perk dialogue options from Fallout. But each of these lack the depth from its' original counterpart.

The open world in Cyberpunk a beautiful, and reasonably big. But the traffic AI, the law enforcement, and the pedestrian AI don't feel the most organic. Pedestrians would reply with the same few things whenever you spoke to them. The things you could do were also quite limited in the city. As far as I knew, vehicles you could drive didn't have that much variety as well. Bike, car, or suv. Driving around in Night City was laggy for me, but maybe the problem could be fixed with a better PC build.

The game let me approach combat either with stealth, or guns blazing. I love stealth, and that's what I attempted at first. But this proved to be problematic. Scanned objects turned into a jumble of mess on my screen with random objects overlapping human enemies. The game intends for me to hack a radio to distract an enemy, but it takes me some time to actually align my cursor with the radio to hack it, making sure it's not the dude I hack. Hacking to distract enemies is a cool thought, but it serves the same purpose as throwing a rock to get enemies to turn around in many other stealth games of this nature, and it brings out the same effect with much less tedious work. I soon resorted to just going in guns blazing, as stealth became tedious and not fun. Most of the time, I'd be noticed for really stupid reasons. Either they suddenly turned around right before I could get close enough. OR the stupid double tap dodge input screwed me over. At times I'd tap the direction keys to slowly get closer, but that input combo is also for quick dodging, which means I'd accidentally blow my cover.

The perk tree is enormous. Like WAY too big. The only way I see anyone can even come close to completing it is if they do every side mission and take on almost every random street conflict. It's not necessary to level each perk, but I can't imagine anyone being able to do it unless they are a hardcore completionist.

The dialogue, voice acting, and characters were great. Although, there were many characters I wish had lived longer. I love it when games or shows kill characters, but I really wish Cyberpunk had kept some of them for longer, as I grew attached to them. Really wanted them to stick to, at least, until near the end.

The story was interesting. Mind transfer. But it's nothing I haven't experienced before. SOMA and the Observer come to mind. As well as movies like Source Code, and the Matrix. All three arguably portray it better, imo. But Cyberpunk did tell it in a fascinating and unique way. Having Johnny around questioning my every move was interesting, and made me think about my morals, which side I was on, and what I should do.

All in all, I did enjoy the game. But it's nothing I haven't experienced before. It's like CD Project Red tried to mesh together a bunch of the popular open world gameplay aspects together, but the result is just an average of all the big games that perfected the formula. The futuristic cyber theme definitely gives the game it's identity, albeit only visually.

I will admit the hype did get to me through all the marketing material, but I thought CDPR would deliver possibly one of the best games of all time. It possibly could've been if all the cut content was in the game, but the only things you can do in the game are main quests and sidequests, which are both good but I would've like extra fluff like minigames and such. Overall, it's not a terrible game by any means, it's just painfully mediocre for what most people were expecting. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The main story was well written, and certainly kept me immersed. During missions, main story characters felt alive, and I felt like I was making a difference in the world. However, that was mostly sugar coating, as it didn't really matter what you do. Everything nearly plays out the same no matter what choices you make.

You're offered life paths at the beginning of the game. This choice at the start only impacts the prologue that lasts a couple hours. The life path dialogue options have no impact on the story, and only add a little flavour to conversations. So it doesn't matter which life path you choose, the rest of the game after the prologue is identical.

While character creation exists, it's nearly pointless. You rarely ever see your character except in the inventory screen and mirrors. Mirrors are pointless as well, just a low res reflection of your character. Once created, you cannot alter your characters appearance what so ever.

After completing missions, characters become dull. After questing with Panam, she just sits there and says, "Hey, V." 24/7. When racing with Claire, she still thinks I'm not quite good enough after coming in first place during the trials. Also, after the first race I take a ride with her back to her garage. I expected some further interaction but felt like I was just booted out of her truck and she took off. Once the scripted parts are over, there is no more meaningful engagement with these characters.

The AI in the game is terrible. Crowds merely make the game feel lived in, except they don't. There are only a few voices, they repeat a lot of things, you can walk through them like they're not there, their lips don't move when they talk, they all have identical animation and respond the same in groups. They pop in and pop out at random.

AI traffic is the same. Pop in and pop out definitely breaks immersion. Pathing is off in some areas and they drive into things. They cannot drive around things. Traffic at a distance is simulated with extremely low res objects that just move over the roads. When on the ground, it looks like there is a lot of traffic ahead of you, then just disappears as you approach.

The crafting system needs major work. I attempted to craft one Epic/Iconic shirt to Legendary/Iconic. I spent all my rare+ material, so decided to craft all required material from my common components. After crafting necessary components, I crafted the Legendary/Iconic item. The original Iconic item was not consumed, even though it should have been. Crafting this one item increased my save file by 1 MB. Reverting to an earlier save, instead of crafting all required components, I went and purchased them instead and crafted the same item. My save file size did not change at all. Yes, I know they addressed the 8 MB save limit on PC, but crafting my own components to enable myself to craft one single item added a full MB to my save, and there was no way to actually decrease that size once it becomes bloated. The only way to level crafting is to craft, so it's tricky to reach level 20 in crafting and manage your save size. Which brings me to the crafting skills. The capstone skill increases the value of your crafted items. One would think that this would help to earn eddies. However, by the time you gather the required components to craft items to sell, I feel it's not really worth it. Also, but the time you're high enough level to have 20 in crafting and skill points to invest in that skill, I feel that eddies are not really any concern as you probably have quite a bit now. Also, your crafted items are still only worth a tiny fraction of what a vendor sells items for.

The way they made it possible to continue playing the game and finish off side quests was poorly done IMHO. So, the way it works is you have two options. Return to the main menu, or load your save just before the point of no return. So essentially if you want to go back and complete everything, you have to go back to where you haven't finished the last quest. Which means it's still the main quest in your log. You do however get an item in your inventory for finishing which ever ending you completed, it's still a let down. I have no idea why they couldn't load you back into the game world with the actual main story completed. I mean, everyone leaves Night City anyway, so they could have just made those characters no longer available. They could have allowed you to continue playing at that point without Johnny in your head, no more coughing, and finishing off things in the game as if you actually accomplished what you set out to do. But instead, you just return to the game before you beat the game. Even though there is pretty much no interaction with story characters at this point. It was very unsatisfying.

All in all, I just feel like there was so much potential for this game. So many missed opportunities. Only time will tell if it can become a masterpiece.

Most missions play the same (go there, kill enemies, Press F/interact with the goal).
The choices you make have almost no impact in the story (yes you can save or kill some baddies, just so they disappear anyway).
There are way to little styles of gameplay and the perks you obtain feel more like a small bonus then a actual new and interesting skill.
The AI most of the time is terrible, enemies, allies and other citizens included.
i feel like they missed the opportunity to make more variety of enemies with the Cyberpunk theme, 99% of them are just humans with almost no implants that change gameplay (and why not more Drones, Robots, of different sizes and behaviors?)

The only think that is good are the characters, the main ones feel like real people, and they carry the story (The story is a bit short IMO).

Even If the game launched five years ago it would not have been impressive or revolutionary.

I heard of thisCyberpunk is not a bad game despite all its flaws. The reason I open with that is simple, most of these reviews seemingly are from people angry that a game they like (perhaps invested a lot of time in) has been essentially deadpanned. I understand a user review is mostly anecdotal and may vary from person to person but there’s a few universal factors that come into play. I heard of this game in April 2020, because of the delay I imagine people were upset and that caused it to actually become more popular, prior to that I never heard of the game even though I’ve played the Witcher 3 (also in 2020), obviously I was late to the hype train. Many users and reviewers say promises were made and what was delivered was not remotely on par with what was expected, that’s fine but I can’t really speak from that perspective. Purely from an open world RPG POV the game itself is not by any means terrible, the character design and lack of customization after creating your character like getting a haircut or a shave, or even growing facial hair ala red dead 2 or the Witcher 3 is missing or was never considered, I knocked off some points for this. I played the corporate and nomad play styles, I’m hesitant to call them lifestyles primarily due to the lack of choices that are centered around these paths after act 1. There’s a few choices that come up in dialogue that are unique to ones chosen path, rare but still here and there. I did not personally notice if these are of consequence or otherwise. The main story is very detailed and seems to be fleshed out. I liked the interactions with Jackie and many of the side quests. The voice acting is hit or miss. You’ll notice a few hiccups during missions with calls coming in and unable to be ignored during conversations Clothing seems to go back to the same customization cluster issue, you may end up dressed pretty goofily if you don’t invest a lot of time in finding legendary clothing items that both look good and rank high. My character was dressed like a modern amalgamation of samurai and biker, mostly for the perks and no it wasn’t appealing. The entire “RP” element is hollow, not much substance aside from the base

I did not experience any of the major bugs and this likely due to my hardware and I wouldn’t really knock any points off even if I did as those can be smoothed out over time

Replay-ability: here is where the game suffers majorly, there’s only a few paths one can take before the end of the story, and the end plot offers about 3 to 4 choices and having played them all I can say I haven’t even touched this game in about 3 to 4 weeks. I will go back to it when they add more substance, like better NPC dialogue, car chases that work outside of the intro, a police/wanted system that isn’t just a minor inconvenience until you’ve left the area, the world itself feels hollow even more so than a game that 8 years old (GTAV) let alone a masterpiece like red dead 2

Get this game and try it yourself (wait for a sale). Don’t go off hype, or hate. Make your own opinion based on how much you enjoyed it or vice versa. Clamoring hate on a company isn’t going to make you feel better or make the game more to your liking, it’ll likely make that company less willing to take chances. No one forces you to buy anything.

The best metaphor for Cyberpunk 2077 is Johnny Silverhand himself. A messiah, a mix of Kurt Cobain and Che Guevara, a talented singer who loves to shape his own legend and has a charming personality but loses the struggle with his own demons. The same goes for the game. It tells a great story and forced me to ask myself difficult questions, but many of its gameplay mechanics do not evolve and its technical state upon release was abysmal. Cyberpunk’s true hero is not a person, but Night City – a vibrant, living creature of great diversity. The beauty of the metropolis is striking. [01/2021, p.22]

Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the most disturbing and mind-blowing RPGs in history, where every decision has a deep impact on our trail. CD Projekt RED tosses us to the center of a city filled with disgusting delights where every character deserves our attention in an immersive experience and overall, very rewarding. From the sarcastic and shadowy tone imposed by the countless scenes in the game, to the flexibility we have on the choices to face every situation that is presented, Night City is truly memorable. It’s a shame that the countless bugs spoil or diminish the impact of some resounding moments, but we are without a question, in the presence of one of the best games in 2020.
