The graphics of the game look amazing, but it lacks a lot of what it should have been, and the performance is all over the place.

It's absolutely shameful that reviewers can drop a 10 point list of flaws and still award a mediocre game like this with a 9 or 10 score. There's no way this game is even an 8. The bugs are just a surface level distraction from how empty and soulless this game actually is.

Compared to the way they marketed the open world of Cyberpunk, the end result is a empty husk with no substance.

Compared to the way they marketed the open world of Cyberpunk, the end result is a empty husk with no substance. They've put make up on a pig and "professional" reviewers eat it up for god knows what reason. This game lacks very basic features that you need for an open world game. I'm talking bare minimum stuff. One example of this is the lack of an actual AI for traffic. This game has no actual traffic Ai built into it. The drivers in this game are bots with predestined routes, no actual behaviour built into them. They drive from point A to point B and when you obstruct traffic they stop functioning and wait for you to remove said obstruction. There's no honking or switching lanes, things you'd expect from real life traffic. Things that are implemented in other open world games. GTA has had this since it's 4th installment, probably even earlier.

The way the player interacts with the police is another obvious tell of how empty this game is. There's no chase. You commit a crime and suddenly a cop teleports behind you and kills you. Again, similair games with open world structure that also have police in them have had believably interactions with police 2 generations ago. Why would a 2020 game made by one of the most respected developers not have this? There's absolutely nothing to do in this so called open world, the game would function better on rails in its current state.

Putting the lack of very basic and bare minimum AI aside, this game lacks customizability which should be a red flag considering the setting. This should be a massive opportunity for players to express themselves, but instead you get an overwhelming character creation with no means of adjusting your appearance later into the game. There are doctors that will implant you with cybertech but good luck getting a trim, cause the technology for that hasn't hit Cyberpunk yet.

What a failure of a game. I seriously doubt that this mess can be patched up.

Once you learn throwing knives, you realize that it isn't possible to retrive them from the bodies — knives are very expensive and everytime you throw it, you must enter the loadout menu and place a new one knife to slot. Cyberpunk is not ready game yet — it is still beta. I am going to get back to play again for few months. You still have fun if you focusing completing the campaign, but the open world experience is ruined as hell.

The short story was good but I felt that the push to do sidequests made the game feel slow, and yet the main story was a second long. The gameplay mechanics weren't anything special. To me, this game feels like a mix of Fallout 4, GTA 5, Destiny, and Witcher. I don’t recommend this game for people who wanted a fully-fledged RPG, but the game was ok and I enjoyed my experience.

It´s a very very good DEUS EX next gen. I also see the potential of this game and it can go easy 10/10 next year and i will update my rating cause the story mode part is great and the shooting feels very good.
    Things to do:
    - physics (everything should react like in RDR2 and others)
    - AI (game is to easy)
    - NPC withe daily routines / life / reactions
    - Police system
    - economy in the city (all should feel connected)
    - More houses to enter and break in
    - storys and quests that envolves randomly because of your actions in the city
    - Overall Performance (gfx)

I think time and Modding will lift it to another level. They shouldn´t release it and put at least 6-12 months into it to fulfill the vision.

If anything changes to the positive i will upvote the game.

Therewhile i will play RDR2, Assasins Creed Valhalla, Kingdom Come (+DLCs), Skyrim with MODS!!, Workers & Resources: Soviet Republic.

This game is (CP) is a good base to start for the publisher and the modding secene but it feeld (after a while) lifeless. That doesn´t mean that the city is not a blast. It´s just there for aesthetic reasons and that´s why it´s a shame they released it in that state.

Merry X-Mass gonna dl Valhalla now.

Et tu CDPR? Et tu? ... CDPR--the RPG maker famed for the quality of its storytelling and side quests... makes a game with only around 20 real side quests.

But wait, you might say, there are a hundred little exclamation points and question marks on the map! What about those? Well, those are variations on "kill this", "open that box", "upload that virus", "kill that guy", "rescue that guy", "steal this", and only very rarely something else. It's instantly forgettable filler told through text messages on your phone, and little notes strewn around the desks and floors of the little region the mission is confined to. The missions are modular, do not affect world state in any way and almost never involve a decision.

I was going to say that The Witcher 3 was different and never did anything comparable. No notes on the floor. No blow up this nekker nest to get a reward. I was going to say it had a hundred real side quests instead--with dialogue, cinematics and storytelling through showing rather than telling. (The most important rule of fiction is: show don't tell.) I was going to say that but then I realized that I was wrong. There were dozens of similar "questlets" in the Witcher 3. The thing is I haven't played it in 3 years and though I remember 90% of all the real actual quests and I could tell you about how I did them and what decisions I made, I completely forgot about the notes-on-the-floor questlets. That's how little of an impression they made on me. I forgave TW3 for having them because it had lots of other much better content. I'm not going to forgive CP2077 though because it doesn't. Nearly the whole game is made of this stuff.

The notes-on-the-floor questlets are given to V by "fixers"--one-dimensional characters bound to a geographical area. They're barely introduced to you at all. They're not rivals. You have no choice about working with them or not. They trust you no matter what. A relationship with a notice board is more interesting.

What kind of character is V? Is he a criminal? A hero? A discoverer of corporate conspiracies? Is he pro-corp evil or full-hippie nomad? What's his ideology? Does he think all corps are inherently bad or does he think Arasaka and Millitech are in the hands of bad people and everything would be okay if they were brought to justice?

Answering these questions would make the game an RPG. One with decisions. One with pro and anti playthroughs. ... but it's not an RPG. Instead, V is a guy that levels up. And he gets loot. And he shoots gang members. (Why even bother having different gangs if they're just something for V to shoot?) V is a generic amoral nobody who does what his fixers ask. (Note: he does not transgress against an ethical system--that would be immoral. No, he's amoral. Which means not having morality at all. Like a doorstop or traffic cone. And about as interesting.)

Answering these questions would also require an exploration of the villains of CP. Wait, who are those villains again? No individuals in CP stand out to me as villains. So maybe the real villain is the toxic culture of corporations! It makes good people do bad things--a wonderful bit of moral complexity that can be properly explored in a game. But CP barely touches on it. And it certainly doesn't involve any character development for V.

Nope. V levels up. And collects loot. Gunplay is mostly quite fun. But mindless. Because it has only a superficial context. It is a struggle for the sake of struggle. Nothing more.

After writing all this you might be wondering why I would give this game anything above 0. The answer is that the main quest is quite good. Keanu is great. There's a choice of multiple endings. There are subtle appeals to the subconscious throughout the main quests. In the cyberpunk atmosphere it's often hard to tell reality from illusion.

But there's not enough of that kind of depth. There aren't enough characters either. There are only 10 or so real characters in CP. Any of the Witcher games had more--even the earlier ones that were made on 5% the budget.

Those games had more cinematics too. The vocal cutscene-hating minority got its way in CP. No cutscenes. Fine. But they haven't been replaced with anything better. Instead everything happens at a distance and you have to look at it. Some of the facial animations are really good, but most people won't notice because the camera doesn't zoom in.

What disturbs me most is that CDPR declared that CP2077 was finished in early 2020 and just had to be debugged. They thought that 20 side quests and just a choice of endings was a finished game. I have no hope at all for the next Witcher game now. I'm sure it's going to be Ciri reading notes on the floor and blowing up nekker nests for her fixer. And there will be a huge environment with ten thousand pedestrian NPCs that have one line of dialogue and tell you to f off 1000 ways. (I spoke to around 10 of the pedestrian NPCs in CP2077. It was just that much fun.)

The core game play mechanics are so basic and dumbed down, its a cross between AC and a bad first person shooter. For a game set in a realm where netrunners exist, hacking is such a pathetic mechanic in the game. It is so badly implemented. You can hack in the middle of combat and the game pauses so you can crack a code. Try doing that in Deus Ex. At least Deus EX was challenging to hack, you can get spotted, yet in Cyberpunk, the A.I just waits for you to finish hacking before they will shoot or spot you.

I was hoping for innovation in game play but all that was created was a GTA5 clone with 20 year old game play. This game needed another year to flesh out the core game play. It can still have elements of fun, but its just rinse and repeat ideas from the last 20+ years.

having an impressive vertical map, is cool, but when you can't interact with 95% of it, what's the point of having objects just to take up space.

Pick this one up in a year or 2 when its closer to being a finished product

My biggest gripe with this game is the narrative.

The main story is way too short and moves from point to point way too fast. Outside the side quests for your possible romances, there aren't really any other interesting ones. 75% of my play through was just boring busywork visiting every single Gig and NCPD scanner events in the hopes of finding something interesting... I did not.

Imagine you buy a prestige luxury sportscar, it looks astouncishing, heated seats with a massage function, state of the art enternaiment system, etc.. But then you push that start button to take it out for a drive and realize that it drives like absolute **** The Suspension makes you puke while the trottle is as responsive as a coma patient. That is how it felt to play through Cyberpunk 2077.

The beatiful - the mediocre - the trash:

    The Beatiful:
    - It has probably one of the best visuals that you can get in a game as of right now.
    - Splatter/dismembering effects are high quality.
    - Visual design, detail and animation of weapons and cars are top notch.
    - The main storyline and the side stories which you can have with main characters are mostly quite well done and interesting.
    - At certain times the game tries to induce a certain intimacy with a play of presentation, visuals and voice acting that no game I played has made it like that before, beatiful.

    The Mediocre:
    - Driving mechanic are really an afterthought for the most part but still functional and fun at times. There are specific off-road cars but they drive mostly just as bad on that terrain and flew of in the sky just like a sportscar or a truck. Sometimes the driving behaviour is inconsistent.
    - The Gangsystem: There is no gangsytem although there are implications of these, nobody hates or likes you, they are just there to be killed and give quests at the same time. No playerimpact.
    - Parkour running is a nice suprise

    Th Trash:
    - Gameplay Balance, there is no gameplay balance.. I never read or watched guides on how do find certain things or specifically try to abuse mechanics, just casually explored and tried to go for builds and playstyles that seemed fun. But even after 5 hours in one finds insanely strong skills and aspects and after that all the fun from the gunfight gets less and less until there is literally no fight any more.

    - Loot mechanics and Inventory are absolutely half assed and not even tested. Aside the fact that I can't loot like 80% of robots I kill for no reason I can also not loot 30% of weapons the enemies drop, that waaay to much. While the Inventory has nice sorting functions it is absolutely atrocious at the same time combined with the worst Inventory aspect I have ever seen in a trile A game:

    - The crafting takes around 2 seconds and I can only craft a single item at a time. It is absolutely madenening. It is not like something emersive that I see my chaacter craft an item or just do random craft stuff (like in Fallout 4) it is just sitting in that inventory menu and clicking that button every 2 seconds like an idiot. This is below any standards I have for any game. And while the crafting is annoying as hell it is also brokenly powerful, I can literaly create stuff out of nothing by crafting and disasambling and I can get infinitely money that way even with a very low player level, why is this a thing. On to of that armor and weapon stats are literally random when crafting items for no reason while I noticed that literally my armorstats change when I just restart the game.

    - Progression: Especially in RPG type leveling I like to get a feel for the numbers of damage, resistances and armor etc.. But the level progression and the way the stats scale is quite bad. In the begnning one has to change essentially the weapon and armor each 0 min because there are better ones but then when it slows down a bit I am already the God of Night City. In the early game the game allows the player to try to take it on high level enemies but these encounters are anything else than fun, fighting is either stunlocking enemies with granaes for 10 min nonstop or die instantly and trying to do it stealthy is a 50% gamble wheather one can finish this mission or, I tried to make a "Very High" danger mission to rescue a woman... only then to learn that as soon as I get to that woman a diolog starts and being detected is unovoidable. And I don't mean it is scripted, it just happens because the diolog was probably not there in the initial mission design to completyl break it. And why do I get a weapon that can shoot through literally any material and any thickness of it, it's just broken. Why do I get 90% crit chance and deal like 100 times damage on every shot is beyond me.

    - The Policee system: It is so bad and cheap that just removing police from the game entirely would be a better choice. I can not even ignore them completely since sometimes I don't stand in the magical "hositle area" or kill a random citizen.

There are a few more for which I have no space to write about like cheap "life paths" and choices in general, game is about corporations but I have no ineractions with them, citizens are a facade, minimap navigating is trash, exploration without minimap..

Either way, there are plenty of things the game does right, and just as many things it does wrong. For the purpose of this review I will solely be reviewing the game itself and not taking into consideration the dubious and outright fraudulent actions of CDPR. Pros and cons are listed below.

    Pros:
    - The narrative - that is, the writing of dialogue and portrayal of the lore throughout the main storyline and side quests. This is what carries the game.
    - A beautifully crafted and detailed Night City.
    - Character design and artstyle.
    - The natural, almost organic design of quest progression.
    - The graphics and implementation of ray tracing.
    - The audio design and soundscape.

    Cons:
    - While the story is what carries the game, it is painfully obvious that a lot of content has been cut which would have enriched it considerably. A prime example of this can be seen in the many sequences shown in trailers of V's and Jackie's escapades, presumably depicting how they grew close, only for NONE of that to be included in the game.
    - Incredibly mediocre gameplay. Shooting has very little impact and melee is gimmicky.
    - Poor to non-existent AI. Police system is atrocious, NPCs do not drive cars outside of scripted events in the main storyline, enemies are dumber than in certain games from the early 2000's.
    - UI is a cluttered mess and generally, the looter-shooter aspect of this game is very poorly implemented.
    - The character progression element is simultaneously cluttered, confusing, superficial and ultimately unrewarding except for a select few choices, which in turn break the game in your favor.
    - The lack of quality-of-life features such as any type of appearance changer is just sad.
    - The hundreds upon hundreds of bugs. Even on PC, this is no joke. For a game that relies heavily on immersion, you will find it broken every 10 minutes or so by a car exploding and launching into the sky. This is one of the tamer bugs, by the way as there are game-breaking ones as well.
    - EXTREMELY poor optimization. Ray tracing aside, there is absolutely no reason this game should run as poorly as it does on relatively high-end hardware.

All in all, there is a foundation upon which this game can grow. Is that an excuse for a shoddy, early release? Absolutely not. Do I believe this game will one day be good? Perhaps.

As it stands today, I cannot recommend Cyberpunk 2077. Perhaps in 1-2 years, when gameplay aspects and technical issues will have been refined and hammered out, the game will be what it was advertised to be. Free DLC, if made well, will certainly go a long way in addressing many of the game's issues and broken promises.

Right now, on PC, patch 1.06, the game is a WEAK 6/10. Just barely crossing the line of mediocrity, mostly due to its narrative and aesthetics. Yes, it was overhyped, however, even with lower expectations it still under-delivered overall.

Do NOT purchase this game unless you're fully aware of its shortcomings and still wish to play it.

    From the marketing, I expect an immersive role-playing game. And because the origin of Cyberpunk is the pen & paper itself. Plus you can create "your V". There was so much hype on how detail you can customize your character (which turns out to be not much). You can choose your "Life path", you can live in the "Night City". But that doesn't matter because;

"V": - although you can customize your look, you won't feel that you play "your V". The dialog choices are just different ways of a preset "V" would say. Don't get me wrong, choices still are made to determine the outcome, but that is it. Look at Mass Effect, Fallout, Outer Worlds, the dialog choices in those games are not only there to pick the outcome, but they also reflect the different personalities of how you want to role-play your character. And by the way, there is no way you can change your appearance after starting the game. I mean "really"? We are in a Cyberpunk world where getting a human enhancement is like going to a dentist. Even in 1890 Red Dead Redemption 2 you at least have a barber...

"Life path" - This is just an addition to the point in the dialog above. Dialog base on the background will pop up in conversation to sometimes help the situation, but that's about it. So, I guess the real difference is the short first part of the start of the game.

"Night City" - I love how it looks. The density. The art and style. But there is just "nothing to do". I know there are loads of side quests. But as I mentioned that I expect the "role-playing", I thought there will be more of a "Night City activities" to do. (Like at least you have hunting/fishing in a fake RPG game like RDR2).

So, if this game would make itself clearer that it will be Wicherpunk 2077. I would not feel let down. Because in Witcher you know you will play as "Geralt". You cannot change his look. The dialog choices are what Geralt would say, just in different ways. You'd know it is a softcore role-playing game that focuses on the story and skills rather than role-plays, and that's nothing wrong with that. That's why Witcher 3 is a great game.

Finally, the good? Basically, the thing that Witcher 3 has done, a good story. That's why I won't rate this as negative. If I didn't get fool by the premise and all the media, it would get a better rating from me. So from this point on, CD Project Red really establish their view of "what is RPG" according to them, and I won't get fooled again.

This game should have been a linear action game, just like Half Life. Because it's the only thing it does very well. Great cinematic choices in 1st person. Great graphics, lovely 'Blade Runner' visuals, lighting. Thick atmospheric fog and neons flooding from every corner. You easily get lost in this techno fueled world of lights and grimy alleys.

Fun story, great characters, writing and voice acting. CBP managed to successfully pull off the almost photo realistic faces and they're quite believable, expressive, charismatic.

Here's some assorted thoughts after 20+ hours of gameplay:

    - Exploration of the seemingly big world is quickly flattened by the realisation it's very shallow. It's visually impressive but there's not much to do or discover. The city is quite complex with a variety of distinct districts and themes. I was missing the abundance of 'micro stories' Fallout 4 is packed with. There are so many interesting areas in CBP where I was excited to lurk through and anticipating some small details to make exploration worth it. Sadly, very often you're left blueballed with what it could be or could hide. I explored the desert areas called Badlands looking for some small stories and hidden gems. There were some but very little. It's just too little of any interesting content. I wish they hired more story and level designers to fill in the desolate or unsued parts of the world with tiny things to make the world more exciting. There's tons of great areas waiting to be utilised and reward the nosy and curious players.

    - For a company that never did car games the driving is quite good. The cars feel heavy and surprisingly responsive but just a little bit too drifty. It's hard to keep the car on the road at times. It's fun how differently they all handle.

    - Gunplay, I would place somewhere between Fallout 4 and COD. Classic weapons firing regular rounds feel responsive and they all sound very punchy. Something you may have noticed in RDR2. They have an audible thump, you can almost feel the kickback. Recoil looks believable. Power (energy) weapons also feel and sound strong, although I very rarely tried those.

    - Melee brawls and weapon fights feel OK. Definitely better than Skyrim. It doesn't feel too floaty. It's generally very difficult to implement a satisfactory (in feeling) animations and believable impact of weapons in 1st person. I think they made a good job, for what it's worth. I think my personal favourite in this matter is still Condemned: Criminal Origins or Dying Light where melee weapons really felt heavy.

    - Side quests is something I love in open world RPG games (more on RPG aspects in a bit). I often dose myself with nice a balance of main story and side missions to slowly progress and get lost in a universe. I never stress either. I relish. Unfortunately most side quests feel underdeveloped or just plainly half-assed. I think CBP tried to implement the Ubisoft formula for these and there's really quite a lot of those scattered across the world. Well, although there's plenty and the repetition is not my main concern, they often feel unfinished. Some of these quests sound great at the beginning when an NPC is letting you know what's their problem but after you do it you're often left somewhere in the world with a quick call from them saying 'ok thanks' or worse - nothing really comes out of it. It's hard to put a finger on it. It basically feel often detached and underwhelming.

    - Cars. I really cannot see any point in purchasing any vehicles the game really pushes you to do through some side mission characters. There are no real chases in this game. There is absolutely no need to own a faster/bigger/heavier/offroad car or motorcycle in this game. It's now very clear that CDPR didn't manage to implement AI for traffic, too. All cars in the world follow rails, fixed routes hardcoded into the road networks to provide the bare necessity of traffic flow. It's what you've seen in GTA in the 1997. IF it works, the cars will stop at an obstacle (a car or person only, mind you. Drivers won't stop for debris, barriers or any dynamic object that might be in the way) and just compliantly wait until it disappears. Driving in this game feels unnecessary. Oh and the cars have a 'Stash' once you approach the trunk. Cool thing but I see no use for that whatsoever. In this game you can carry ridiculous amount of stuff on your person.

    - RPG. I think it's worse than what a lot of people say about Fallout 4. CDPR promised tons of branches, choices (I roll my eyes when people romanticise about New Vegas' 'Choices and consequences!'. It's partly true. New Vegas is some kind of a benchmark but it also doesn't give you THAT many options. I digress.). It has very little to do with RPG. It's a shooter.

Every second you are doing looting, which it starts to become very irritiating and annoying. After the first 5 hours, when you continue looting and checking which item is better, it starts to be like "MY GOD. NOT AGAIN !" The rest is good.

Shortly, The game potential is very good. Better than the most of games out there, for real. It even has the game of the year potential, but not with this technic problems and looting problem. If they are going to fix it, then I am fine about it. I can wait a few more months to play a proper game that "Works just fine".

Its not a 1 or a 2 or even a 4, but neither is it anywhere near the level I think most of us were expecting. This feels like a game that just couldn't deliver what it promised, probably because of too high  ambitions from the developers. And possibly even too high of a workload.

I'm going to keep it short. Graphically this game is a VERY mixed bag. At times it looks borderline CGI, but in other areas it can look unbelievably flat and almost like a ps2 era game with a 'shiny filter'. With that out of the way:

The story starts off strong but then I feel like it gradually just loses pace and starts feeling uninspiring. Mind you, I'm only about 10 hours in and I've done quite a bit of side stuff (here's to hoping it gets better). The combat feels very clunky and more irritating than it feels fun. AI is TERRIBLE most of the time. They'll literally just stand around at times. And they are absolute bullet sponges, borderline frustrating at times. I understand the combat has rpg elements and has to factor in hit points, armor, resistances, etc, but it still feels a bit too much when I have to empty a clip to take down a regular enemy at close range. It just doesn't feel satisfying to take'em down - more like a chore that you just wanna get over and done with.

And this is all not to mention the cavalcade of bugs present even in the latest 1.4 update. It's an absolute buggy mess. Not quite game breaking, but borderline. Over all this just feels like a messy above-average game. Which is a shame because I LOVED the Witcher 3 and I love CDPR. And I really tried to love this game too - but I just think its average after about 10 hours of playtime.

A few minor bugs so far such as clipping through walls, once I jumped up to grab onto a shipping container and went flying backwards across the map to the other side of Watson for some reason. The AI is a bit meh, sometimes getting in a fight by will aggro EVERY possible opponent in the area and will come running to fight even though they shouldn't have been involved. And the pathing for NPC vehicles is terrible, park a car in the middle of the street and get out, and cars will just bank up behind you. Come on CDPR, that's basic stuff, GTA V is 8 years old and does better than that!

Right now, the moment that truly matters, it is an incomplete game and a big disappointment.

Unless you are a big fan of the cyberpunk genre and can't wait to experience the story of V and Johnny Silverhand, but also have a lot of patience to deal with various bugs that will constantly take you out of the experience, I recommend completely avoiding the game and hoping it'll (luckily) be in a better state in the future. Weapons are mostly interesting in design, but the gunplay is a bit boring. it is a Looter-Shooter, but maybe shouldn't have been. I think a better effect would've been made, just keeping the game a standard FPS with tiny RPG elements, like Deus Ex or System Shock. Also, the driving mode feels unbalanced, in need of a fix.

I'm not gonna knock the graphics, it's all good. But it's not core for good gameplay, so when the gameplay is dull and repetitive, the cool, edgy graphics feel wasted. Same goes with audio. Not a huge fan of the whole "futuristic beats" either. Too grating, distractingly aggressive, all the time.

STORY & SIDE QUESTS: The main story is fine, but on the level of other AAA games, nothing above it like Mass Effect was for me. I don't need to save the world in-game, but I've missed some depth and atmosphere during the play. A good amount of dialogues were just ok. The decision selection was low, but maybe with another playthrough, I'll change my mind. But it felt railroaded a lot. Rather pushing you to the storyteller's story than your own. At some moments I was asking, why I haven't been given an option that felt more appropriate. There were very good parts and very blend parts too. The main story did not get into my skin so I would proclaim it as breathtaking. It was good, and still worth buying and go through tho.
There is one cinematics where you will see your character. One, which is a pity, and somehow I have a feeling that there was planned for more, as one of the bugs was actually showing your face during conversation and the model was moving lips..but somehow they probably decided to retract from that idea....The photo mode is saving the day here, but is it enough? I don't need to play through all being cinematics, but it somehow adds up to the atmosphere feelings for me. Romance options, I've expected more.
What bothered me a lot was the overwhelming push for all the jobs, phonecalls overlapping, rush, push...it didn't felt comfortable. I would prefer to experience a more chilled way to receive quests, rather than feeling like a target of Fixers Telecompany.

CHARACTER CREATION: Biggest disappointment for me is Character Creation. It's detailed but to an extent. As for body types, it failed my expectations. Having a badass woman beating a huge bodybuilder with her fists, while looking like a skinny top model did not add to my immersion. Mixing voices and adding penises to females feel odd rather than exciting, especially due to lack of customization.

THE OPEN WORLD, LOOT & CRAFTING: 1st person is good. The night city looks great visually, but somehow you can't interact too much with it. Sure there are shops, various NPCs which...just walk and don't want to talk to you. It feels just fake sadly. Do we really need open worlds in RPGs? I rather have an engaging, in-depth and epic story to play than playing GTA5 in the future. It feels like GTA5, better in some aspects, worse in others. Tons of loot. I was somehow hoping that there will be more meaningful and less loot, you will spend a lot of time with loot management and it kept me distracted from playing and enjoying the story. It also felt odd that you can loot basically everything in front of everyone without consequences. Crafting...mhm...didn't use much, because with so much loot there was not much point. All is expensive a lot, didn't have a chance to buy all while completing a lot of side missions. The economy isn't as bad as in GTA5, but not the greatest. The apartment is useless as well as other loot. GTA5 beats Cyberpunk in here.

COMBAT & PROGRESSION: Combat is ok and fun, similar to Ghost Recon. It was fun, AI is dumb. The skill tree and the progression is good and gives you a chance to make a unique playstyle, although more points wouldn't be bad.

MUSIC: Music and sound is great.

BUGS: I am sure you've heard and read a lot about them...only a few times it broke my immersion, a few times gave me a good laugh. But PC is tolerable I guess? Folks with PS4 must be raging madly from what I've seen. For PC it is on verge of release, for Consoles, it should never been rushed like this. Especially with the motto: "It releases when it's ready."

FINAL WORDS: *shrugs* I would still recommend this game on PC. It's better than most of the crap released last year.
Somehow I am mad, that all the effort, all the years...for this? It is subjective...it is still a good game, just with that overhype...I've expected more, sorry CD Projekt.
As expectations were much higher. Sadly CD Projekt damaged its own reputation with poor management decisions and every future game from this company should be not pre-ordered.

К тому же в игре куча визуальных багов и артефактов, которые могут превратить драматичный момент в цирк с конями. This is a review of 1.06 version

Graphics - 8/10. A good looking game in general, however the graphics are not consistent everywhere. They often look average or straight up bad, especially during free roam outside of scripted missions. Also, there is a lot of popup and plenty of situations where high quality model of an object doesn't manage to load in time when you approach it.

They often look average or straight up bad, especially during free roam outside of scripted missions. Also, there is a lot of popup and plenty of situations where high quality model of an object doesn't manage to load in time when you approach it. Animations are pretty stiff outside of scripted cutscenes. Also lots of graphical glitches like t-posing NPCs, clipping, or animations freaking out.

Story - 7/10, however it's very linear. Your dialogue choices don't matter 99% of the time outside of few times when you get to decide the ending. Characters are decent and Keanu Reeves character turned out pretty badass and convincing. His 3D model looks pretty disappointing though, especially considering he's the most important character and highlight of the game. I would expect better.

User interface is all over the place. Pretty confusing. The fact that you have plenty of junk to pick up on every step doesn't help. I ended up collecting everything and then selling stuff if I ended up overweight. I picked the best armor and weapon based on one statistic. Didn't bother with modifications etc. Didn't buy anything, just used random stuff that I picked up. And I completed the game easily.

    Gunplay - average

Vehicle handling - bad. Vehicles handle worse than Watch Dogs. Much worse.

Physics - bad. They are 2005 tier. Car crashes have no weight to them, like cars are made of rubber and the behavior is often ridiculous, like you crash into a car and you drive under it. And running over pedestrians feels like they are weightless. Also it glitches out, pedestrians and objects often go inside your car and you drag them with you,

AI - dumb. NPCs have barely any AI. And enemies go straight under your gun. They also get stuck all the time and you can shoot them easily. And there are NO police chases. It's not programmed. Police just appears out of nowhere.

World - city is decently sized however it looks basically the same everywhere you go. There is very little variety. Pretty boring. I'm not a big fan of the art direction. And very little to do there. Those who say that this is the biggest and most immersive and alive world in video games are straight up LYING. It has literally nothing on games like GTA, Watch Dogs or RDR2. Pedestrian and car density is good enough, however since they have no AI they feel artificial and just there for decoration. Also, pedestrian and car density drops to nearly zero when you drive a vehicle, but it goes back once you're on foot.

Overall, if you expect a detailed and immersive open world sandbox action game like GTA, Watch Dogs or RDR, you will be very disappointed. And if you expect a detailed RPG where every choice you make matters, you will be disapointed as well. This game does bad in both.

This game is a big disappointment considering it's budget, years in production and how much hype it generated. CDPR tried to throw down the gauntlet to Rockstar and Ubisoft, but they failed miserably.

This game definitely doesn't deserve a score higher than 8/10, no matter how you look at it. The whole game feels plasticky, wonky and unpolished/unfinished if I had to describe it shortly. I personally gave it a 6 because I'm not a hyped CDPR fanboy and I see things as what they are. It was not a HORRIBLE experience, but far far away from a masterpiece. All 9 and 10 scores are ridiculous.

    - Super dumb or even nonexistent AI with enemies, NPCs, cops, etc. Really makes interactions with other characters in the game feel immersion-breaking based on their dumb/non-believeable reactions to what is happening around them. Doesn't seem to be any vehicle-driving AI at all, just hardcoded paths which are followed.
    - Cops spawn and disappear out of nowhere and don't seem to be actually capable of persuing you.
    - The RPG elements of the game are pretty lacking
    - Vehicle physics are trash, they seem to just pivot about the centre
    - There's a multitude of general glitches and bugs currently.

+ Music and sound effects are amazing.
+ The visuals and spectacle of the world itself when there are no bugs and you're playing on a PC on medium to high-ish settings is awesome. Unfortunately for PS4 and Xbox One players they probably won't get to experience that..

"As wide as an ocean but as shallow as a puddle" The game feels like a lot of smoke and mirrors.

It's difficult to believe that 7 or so years has resulted in this.
All of this said I think it has the potential to become amazing with more development time, there's a great foundation of a city to build upon here and improve for sure. If good depth gets added to the game along with vast AI improvement and bug fixes it'll get a lot better. I wouldn't buy it now, I'd wait 6-12 months and re-evaluate your decision then based on if the game has been substatially improved tbh.

Let me start with the basics first and solve an all important question. Did Cyberpunk 2077 live up to the all the hype and buzz its devs created? The simple answer to that, is a resounding No and I'll explain why in a bit so bear with me.
First things first, the game's quite good and very accessible from a controls standpoint. That's not to say that the controls are a cakewalk, they certainly have a learning curve and it doesn't take long to get into grips with and that's a plus. I sank around 56 hours into the game since release day and that contains 2 20 hour playthroughs(with breaks here and there of course) on day 1 and day 2 and a 16 hour playthrough on day 3, so i think I'm more than knowledgeable enough to talk about the game's shortcomings.
One very evident thing i noticed and that hasn't been fixed yet is the wide assortment of bugs featured in the game. Characters walking through objects and elevators, random hitches and performance drops here and there occurring all too frequently and making the experience far less enjoyable, extremely rare graphical glitches in certain areas and so on. It is unacceptable launching a game in this state. People brush it off simply because it was developed by CDPR but it really shouldn't get a free pass like that, had it been another developer people would be all over them.
With these things been said, I want to get into the nitty gritty things in the game as soon as possible so I don't make this review a full on essay. The story is quite good, it won't raise the bar or reinvent the wheel in terms of storytelling and voice acting but that didn't stop it from being a good cyberpunk story set in the near future for me and it manages to capture that essence or feeling quite well, i have to warn you though, it does tend to get a fair bit generic at certain points so don't go in expecting it to "blow your socks off". Next is the soundtrack and ambiance which along with the visuals can make the game feel utterly realistic and somewhat atmospheric in specific areas, especially at night with all that neon and street lights going on creating an almost surreal and gorgeous looking game, one with a soundtrack that tends to capture that cyberpunk aesthetic quite well and is further amplified by a gorgeous art style that adds to the experience and immersion on offer in the game.
Now, while the open world looks gorgeous that does come at a catch, the world feels empty and somewhat barren in a lot of areas and no I'm not talking about the suburban areas and areas found in the desert region of the map, I'm talking about areas that normally should be crowded and not just during the day but also at night, areas such as the City Center for instance which should be teeming with life, but it isn't.
Gameplay is great but areas such as driving, fighting and gunplay look like they need a lot of work and I mean a LOT of work. Gunplay looks barebones with guns barely having any kick to them and giving that feeling that you're shooting nerf guns and not actual weapons since they lack the "oomph" you would get even in guns found in "ancient" games like 2010's Cod: Black Ops which wasn't realistic by any sense of the imagination but the gunplay felt satisfying and each gun felt unique in its own way. You won't get that with cyberpunk. In terms of fighting I'll make it short, melee fighting is very basic, punching enemies makes you feel like you're punching a mannequin since all you get is a basic reaction or lack thereof from the enemy you hit and ragdoll physics are completely absent. Finally driving, I'll just say driving feels like Watch Dogs and don't get me started on that game and how unresponsive its driving was. Each vehicle, regardless if it was a basic car, a motorcycle or an expensive luxury vehicle lacked any unique characteristics when it comes to responsiveness and overall sense of speed. Using a very simple description, "It's like driving a boat, not a car". With regards to combat however, the various ways you can hack one or multiple enemies at once and make them do all sorts of things like shoot themselves or jam their guns makes combat a lot more enjoyable.
The wide variety of cybernetic augmentations and character customisation add immense replay value to the game and the various dialog trees which can make a certain conversation turn in one way or another makes conversations more enjoyable even though they feel useless in some situations. There's a wide assortment of skills, aptly called perks to specialise in making your character feel unique and suitable to your preferred playstyle some of them felt completely useless though and even though I chose some of them, there are certain perks that didn't really do anything for me.
All in all, Cyberpunk 2077 is a really good game but it's certainly not the revolutionary rpg CDPR hyped it up to be. It's got it's ups, but at the same time it's got its downs(both mild and severe) however that didn't stop from being enjoyable.

Certain skills, like Cold Blood, Engineering, and Athletics are either obfuscated or completely unbalanced. It took hours of experimentation and online investigation to figure out, for example, that Cold Blood requires a perk to increase its xp (the only skill requiring a perk), but also that activating the perk isn't enough, you have to kill enemies while the perk is active. Using tech weapons is supposed to increase engineering xp, but it turns out you only get the engineering xp if you shoot enemies through walls. Kind of an important caveat. Athletics is not balanced to gameplay at all. The skill description says running, jumping, etc will increase your xp, but this is a lie. Athletics xp gain is tied to stamina drain, which is an important distinction since many skills reduce or remove stamina usage, making the already abysmally low rate of athletics skill gain entirely null. This is just bad design. I had to set up an auto-clicker to let my character jump for 9 hours straight, to drain enough stamina to only gain 3 levels in athletics. That is on top of the 12 hours I've spent actually playing the game, running around, etc. Somebody somewhere had to move a decimal point, because it's not right.

Speaking of bad design, this game was heavily, heavily marketed as an RPG. It was based on a tabletop RPG. This game is not an RPG, which I would have known had I been following Cyberpunk news closely, as apparently they stealthily switched the description a while back to action-adventure. Just one aspect of the gross, deceptive marketing CDPR used for this game. They deliberately hid the poor performance on consoles by disallowing review copies. They also knew how buggy and unpolished the game was prior to release, which is why they only let reviewers use B-roll and trailer footage in their reviews. A lot of folks have reported a lot of bugs. The majority I've run into have been floating objects or dropped items clipping into the ground and becoming impossible to collect. Not that I need to, because there is already way too much in the world to collect.

This game has one of those looter-shooter loot system designs. The kinds with hundreds of identical weapons that get ever-so-slightly, incrementally better as you increase in level. I hate this type of game. I'm definitely of the camp that likes weapon systems in games like Dark Souls or Fallout 4. These games have a variety of weapons, but the weapons have unique move sets or abilities and can be improved over time. It is a system that gives meaning to choice and to play style, an aspect of RPGs. Cyberpunk does have a crafting system, but it's largely useless for upgrading your gear. This is another part of the game that just doesn't feel balanced at all. The investment of resources into upgrading weapons is so heavy, especially if the weapons are legendary and require legendary components, that you're better off just waiting a few levels and either finding a new weapon, or crafting one if you're lucky enough to have found a crafting schematic. And really, you can only craft those good weapons if you've heavily invested permanently allocated attribute points into technical skill so you can buy the required perks. The investment just isn't worth it, which is an aspect that just casts a pall over the whole experience.

I've had to give up on even pretending this is a role playing game. You get a character creator in this game because it checks off a box that idiots like me look for when purchasing a game. I spent hours obsessing over which start I should pick, wondering how it would affect the game. It didn't. Character origins basically give you a few extra dialogue choices, but I have seen no impact on game play. Most of the Nomad dialogue choices I've made have basically boiled down to my character saying "I'm a nomad, I can help you out with this," and the NPC responding "No, thanks." Sweet. And this brings me back to the loot system, which adds extra salt to the wounds. I wanted to make a cool Nomad merc, but because I'm lacking the components and level to upgrade the cool legendary armor I found, my cool-under-pressure nomad solo is wearing a woman's kimono top and cut-off shorts, because their armor rating is like double my legendary, unique Rockerboy's Vest. I hate this.

I wanted to experience the world of Cyberpunk. My friends are in to tabletop games, but not really the genre. I thought this game would be a way to do so. The world is empty, with no interactions possible outside of driving, killing, and shopping. In a way, I guess that's what the world of Cyberpunk is supposed to be, but it wouldn't have killed them to throw in some mini games or something. Night City is beautiful, but I prefer Yakuza 0's Kamurocho.

Cyberpunk 2077 shines in its characters, quests, and art direction. Otherwise, it's skippable. 5/10.

The menus are a tire fire to say the least. Trying to figure out how to do something for the first time is just a bunch of random clicking and hoping it will work out. Once you figure something out it is fine, but before then it can be a struggle. The city is very “alive” until you look closer. Besides the 500 shootings that happen in this city, there is not much going on. The premade missions that happen all over are fun and interesting. Some of them have problems but they are minor. Outside of the scripted events there is no sporadic events.
The game is fun, I enjoy what frustrations have come. Hopefully, over time, they can resolve the small things to make a decent game great.

The main problem is not bugs and glitches because those will get fixed soon. The problem is that the game is flawed at its core. The open world is dead, there are no people around, the mission design is old and lazy and it actually destroys any opportunity of actually roleplaying. I feel completely disconnected from my V, not only because I cannot change my appearance in any way, but also because I am given pretty much no significant chances of developing any personality.

B: as digital copy, reuploaded into your brain wiped body, also with a 6 months life expectancy
C: as digital copy, going into cyberspace and leaving your body to the terrorist Johnny Silverhand
D: as digital copy, owned by the Arasaka megacorp, who are the villains

What a disappointment, after all that hype...

I wanted to love this game but in its current state, there's no way I can recommend this game to anyone.

While not game-breaking, there are way too many visual and small bugs. Optimisation is poor as well, even though I don't have a top-end PC (2070, 5600x and 32GB RAM) I get big FPS dips below 60 at random points in the game and can't maintain a stable 60 FPS at most times. There also

There also might be a memory leak issue? Had to reboot the game to fix my FPS after several hours.

The AI in the game is terrible, NPCs walk away and phase out of the game. Even happens with named NPCs, like the bouncer outside Lizzie's Bar. Nothing like what the devs claimed of "over 1,000 unique NPCs that have their own unique daily routines." Another example is when it comes to the police, they just spawn right behind you when you're wanted.

Onto the intro and choosing your lifepath, it seemingly ends within 30 or so minutes. I thought it was a major decision that was supposed to affect your game but you suddenly get a timeskip and you're already settled in in Night City. I've seen instances where you get additional dialogue options but they don't seem to have any consequences so far. Nothing more than filler.

An improvement can also be made for various QOL features, such as being able to change your character's appearance (hair, tattoos, etc) after the character creation, ability to toggle walk on keyboard, minimap being too zoomed in to the point it's almost useless. Furthermore, the inability to rebind certain keys is also ridiculous on PC and not being able to change more specific settings such as sensitivity for aiming.

Looking at gameplay and more specifically stealth combat (as that is what I've currently spec'd as), it seems more like an after-thought. When you're hiding behind wast-high cover you may as well not be, because all enemies can see you anyway. Also when you're crouching, a lot of the time you end up dodging when trying to make minor positioning adjustments (unless you rebind the keys in the ini file), which then reveals you to the enemies.
Additionally driving doesn't feel good either. This might be subjective, but the driving is overly sensitive. I have more trouble keep the car straight and not crashing than anything else.

I love the world, the atmosphere and the game feels good when it works. But the problem is a lot of the time there's things that take you out of the game, whether it's bad performance, visual bugs or poor AI (such as when you're talking to NPCs for a quest and other NPCs just walk inbetween you several times). Wait for the game to be patched, and I mean several patches before buying. The game is very reminiscent of Witcher 3's initial release.

A great if slightly flawed effort from CD Projekt Red. World building is top notch, Lots of detail and attention was paid into this game. Unfortunately it is also flawed in the glitches / bugs. While I have faith the bugs / glitches will be ironed out over time, it was definitely released in not a great state. 7/ 10 now.

I guess the success of The Witcher 3 gave them huge mindshare; which brought new fans in, and then held them up to such a ridiculously high pedestal.

Honestly people have no idea about CDPR's launch history; hence the ignorant low reviews.

CP2077 will turn out great in about 6 months; it's very good right now on PC, but the consoles will have to wait.

So right now it's a solid 7 and not GOTY as the mainstream game media make it out to be...yet.

To make the game work they’ve depopulated Night City to the point that it’s an empty sandbox. It’s a fantastic city, beautifully designed. But without the horsepower to do it justice, the PS4 version feels hollow. All the graphical flourishes that bring the world alive? Forget it. It looks like a game from the early 2000s on a last gen console. The eye popping visuals are limited to the top 5% of PC spec. Everyone else gets “functional” It’s a shame as the CDPR magic is here, their strengths are all on display, but they should have just bitten the bullet and made this a PC/PS5/XBox X title. I will say, though, that this is a role playing game in name only. Apart from a quite involved skill tree, there aren’t the world changing decision trees in this game. Some of the dialogue options have one choice. What’s the point of presenting me with a single choice dialogue tree? Do they think I will miss pressing a button every couple of minutes? And there is a mission that’s basically a platform level. If I wanted a platform game I would buy an old Sega Megadrive and plug Sonic the Hedgehog in. The old hardware can’t cut it and they knew it, why else did they withhold console code from the reviewers? The way to play this is either on a high end PC or wait for the next gen console versions. CDPR should take a reputation hit for this. They’ve released a game onto a format that can’t do it justice and tried to conceal the shortcomings for short term profit. Any claims to being customer-centric die here. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. -Gameplay (Driving, action, control):Apart from the gameplay promised by the producer firm, Cyberpunk has been a game with an average level of gameplay compared to the year it was released(2020).
Driving mechanics were (really)below average and combat mechanics were mediocre.it is an FPS game, CDPR should been give more effort to combat mechanics. The variety of weapons is very much but their mechanics are very similar.
Character control good enough. We have various physical upgrade our character and their adaptation to the gameplay has very successful.

-Graphics and Design:The biggest part of the game. Each object has been taken care of and the design of the city is truly magnificent. It is a game with above average graphics compared to the generation. The biggest factor that saves the game is success in graphics and design.

-Musics and Sound Effects:Another point that I find successful is musics. Their music contains offensive language similar to the atmosphere it is in, this detail is nice. Radio stations are also varied and numerous.
If we look at the sound effects, some of the characters have successfully voiced , while others have not been cared for. The sounds of the cars are very similar to each other.Sports cars and heavy vehicles could be better distinguished.
By the way, they distinguished the gun sounds very well. The sound effects during the combat are good

Story,Side Quests,Mission Design and Dialogues:They wrote an interesting main story, it was a story with a plot suitable for the period in which the game took place.
The side missions should definitely have been done with more care. The number of quality side missions is really few. There are really many repetitive missions.
The mission design depends on your gameplay. If you want stealth, you can hack the enemies but if you want fight with them you can start gunfight. The game has given you an opportunity to create the mission design yourself. It was a really nice feature.
The dialogues on the other hand are too much, but not sufficiently original. Texts are gushing all over the game, there are hundreds of chips in the game but very few of them contain interesting text and dialogues.

Technical(Physics,Gunshot effects...):The physics engine of the game is really bad. It has a very low level physics engine compared to a AAA game. Car crashes, NPC physics ... Let's not talk about it.
I didn't like the impact in the game. Limb rupture is a nice detail but the impact of the sniper and gun is the same, and this is a very bad feeling for me.Also fight mechanics not good too. Very artificially designed.

İnterface:The interface was neither good nor bad. The part describing the weapon features was very mixed, but the cyber hardware part was plain and nice. So some parts were good, some parts were not.

-CDPR was crushed under self-generated hype.
-It's not good enough for a game that has been actively prepared for 4 years.
-I didn't mention bugs and glitches, but these are important shortcomings.
-Cyberpunk 2077 has not been a good experience for CDPR as expected, I hope they can get back to it.

If we ignore the bugs, this open world is one of the most lifeless I have ever seen. There is 0 AI behavior for NPCs. If you shoot, they crouch in place and do nothing. They don't run like other games. There is no vehicle AI either. If you are blocking them by an inch they won't go around you like in GTA because all the cars in this game are on rails it seems with no mind of their own.

You literally phase through NPCs while walking by them. You don't physically bump them like in GTA or RDR2. You can't knock them over either. Overall they just feel hollow because of this.

Police in this game is horrid. They TP near you even if you are running away in a vehicle. There are NO POLICE CHASES. All the car chases in this game are scripted events.

Now for the good stuff. The main story is the only reason to play this game. It is actually really good with lots of big Michael Bay moments. The side quests are decent but not as good as Witcher 3 IMIO. Overall my final verdict is that for one this game should have been delayed dude to bugs, but also it seems that the budget went straight to visuals instead of deep game mechanics and an interesting open world.

Before the game came out many reviewers claimed that the main story was only a small part of the game and that the side quests will be where the real meat of the game is. But, after beating the game and playing through the main endings as well as completing all the non-gig side quests (other than finding all the graffiti) I can say that this is 100% false.

Completing all the side quests takes about the same amount of time as the main story. However, many of them are glorified gigs. And, the one's that do have a story do not rival the main story in any way. If you expected side quests similar to Fallout or Elder Scrolls then prepare to be let down.

There are a number "main" side quests that revolve around: Terry (Johnny's band member), Judy, and Panam. These are longer than all the others since they are the start to quest chains. But the chains are short for what they are. Then, there are 3-4 side quest chains with only 2-3 parts. And, the rest of the side quests are one-off quests that can take anywhere from literally only 1 minute to 20 minutes.

The side quests have slightly more choice than the main quest line. But, the choices have almost no consequences. It really doesn't matter what you decide or how to talk with the characters. Usually, you'll get a happy or mean text an in-game day later.

So, the game has: a good main quest with terrible endings, about 20 mostly boring side quests with only a few turning into quest chains, no impactful choices, and very little RPG elements in terms of life-path, attributes, and perks. Atleast, the map is really cool. It's a shame they didn't use so many of the cool areas they created for something other than pointless and repetitive gig quests. Next time you're driving in-game: look around. Look at all the cool places the designers made. Do you know how much of it is used to tell interesting stories? Almost none of it. What a shame.

TLDR: Buy the game if you think you'll really enjoy the main story. Don't buy it for anything else. The side quests, world, and lack of RPG elements will disappoint. Hell, even the main story's ending may disappoint.

This game could have been great but they released it way too soon, its not ready, it needs another 1-2 years work!

My refund has been approved by Steam.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. To my great regret, Cyberpunk is not the game I wanted to see. The developers removed from the release version everything that attracted me to the game since its announcement. Running on walls; a system of reputation that REALLY affects the game world; a system for making REALLY important decisions that REALLY affect the game world; a system of implants that affect the attitude of game characters towards you (and much more). No. None of this is in the final version of the game. All tasks are monotonous (kill 10 enemies in this location and take the chest with the reward or go there and save that person). That's all the "open" world of Cyberpunk offers. For me, Cyberpunk 2077 is the disappointment of the year.

P.S. there will be a spoiler Next (please be careful), but this particular moment in the game disappointed me so much that when I reached it, I no longer started the game. I just don't want to go back to this game world. Well. I'm talking about the death of our partner, Jackie. This is just a terrible moment from the point of view of the scenario and game logic. At that time, I had exactly 109 first-aid kits in my inventory. And I was not given the opportunity to give my partner at least 1 of them to save him! This is one. Two. This is the world of cyberpunk AND it is possible to replace any part of the body with a mechanical one. But we are not given the opportunity to save Jackie this way, although just a few minutes later we are saved, but not from a simple wound that was in the partner, but from a BULLET IN the HEAD. And I have a question: WHAT GUIDED THE SCREENWRITER WHEN WRITING THIS PLOT MOVE?! Death in the story for the sake of death?! Without the right to influence her in any way? Then let Jackie shoot DeShawn like he did us. Then it would be LOGICAL and we would know for sure that we could not save our partner! And so we just stole the right to choose in a game that promised a REAL opportunity to influence the course of game events! We were given a real opportunity to influence the game world back in the days of the first mass effect and dragon age, not to mention the first Witcher! But here-NOTHING. Just accept that you are in this game world. And all. Oh, and such was the potential! Such ideas and promises! But, alas. At this point in time, only Larian Studios and their Baldur's gate 3 give the player a real opportunity to influence something in the game world. You should be ashamed of yourself, alas cd projekt red.

If I had one criticism not related to bugs, it would be the pace of the main quest, their is a tone of side quest content, but there isn’t any really obvious lulls in the main story to take a break and explore. The pace of the main quest sucks you along with it and you have to really try to branch out and explore. There is a hell of a lot going on in this game and some things just don’t get explained. Like bounties, how, where, if at all do you get rewarded for for them? I really love this game so far, but for the bugs this game would be a 10. Expand

If the game is not ready yet CDPR should have delayed it. Its very saddening to see Cyberpunk 2077 launch like this. It is unfortunately glitchy in its current state. But that doesn't mean it will stay like that. The CDPR will surely patch it up day by day.

Never mind the technical issues - I'm running this windowed at the Medium preset with an ancient processor and an R9 380X, and I've experienced no crashes and can maintain performance at 40 fps or better 90+% of the time. Even without ray tracing and many features dialed way down (or turned off completely) the game is absolutely gorgeous to look at. Some texture pop-in and draw distance issues here and there, but nothing remotely like a deal-breaker.
The game itself? Well, it's the most aggressively mediocre, massively overhyped major release in gaming history, IMO. There's nothing new here. It's just GTA V meets Far Cry 3, with none of the former's many charms and none of the latter's functionality. The character and inventory systems leave much to be desired, no time seems to have been spent on world-building, and the quests feel perfunctory and slapdash right from the jump.
Even once its many technical issues are patched up, history will not be kind to this release. It's simply not a great game. If you'd surprised me with this five years ago and told me after I'd sunk a few hours into it that CDPR was responsible for it, I literally would never - ever - have believed you. They should be embarrassed.

dont lie to yourself guys, this game is no Masterpiece in the state its currently at. And were not supposed to rate "Potential" were supposed to rate a full game which supposedly was already finished months ago. And costs money :^)

As is goes for Last Gen Console, people are defending CDPR for literally releasing a BROKEN game.
Quite a low point dont you think ?

    Just wait a few Months.

Do not buy this game in its current state. There is no way in hell its a 10/10. No game is perfect. Just use common sense.

The AI is lifeless and dead. Everything they promised regarding NPC's was a lie, look at youtube videos yourself. The world is dead and lifeless. No dynamicness like in RDR2, its not even close. Performance is crappy and extremely blurry even on PC's Reviews

Average plot without truly memorable twists/characters and all the rest (especially game play mechanics) below modern standards.
It would be a good remaster but instead it is a modern game that looks like games created when studio launched this project.
Bugs are everywhere and no matter if they fix that it doesn't change the overall perception and frankly I will not be there to re-check.

I wasn't hyped, didn't track the production process, expected another AAA game (basing on production time and size of the studio) but received a product that simply doesn't meet market standard.

Cyberpunk 2077 was easily one of my most anticipated games of this decade, so like many others I was at large on the hype train for the game's release. After countless delays and many years of waiting we finally got to play the game and after experiencing the title for myself I'm left both amazed and severly dissappointed.

For starters Cyberpunk 2077 is a great game with a fantastic story and beyond stunning visuals, but being a triple-A RPG requires more than just story and graphics to succeed in my books. I finished the game's main story line in roughly 25 hours and was afterwards thrown in to a huge open world with countless sidequests and.. and.. that's about it. I was surprised by how immensly empty the city feel. There's a huge lack of activities and RPG elements that're so important for a game of this genre. Repeatable activities such and racing and various other mini games are what really adds to an open world game, but there's hardly any. Not only that, but things like barbers, car customization, weapon customization and other elements that give the player more choices and freedom are also missing. I don't expect CP77 to be the next GTA, because it's not. It's an RPG, but it's a very lackluster RPG without these basic features.

Secondly, there's the bugs.. and holy sh*t.. this game is buggy. I get that they kinda forced themselves in a corner where they couldn't delay the game further, but I now understand just how badly it needed yet another delay. Found it extremely difficult to enjoy the main storyline without constantly having to worry about things glitching and quests bugging out because they did.. they did very often. Hopefully over the next couple of months they'll sort most of the crucial bugs out, but it'll take a massive amount of work.

That being said I did still enjoy the game overall, but these issues kept me feeling like it could've been and should've been a lot better than it is. I'm extremely eager to see what the coming months/years will bring to Cyperpunk 2077, both in terms of DLC and bug fixes, but for now I can't give the game a higher score, despite how badly I want to.

The game is missing a lot of costumize contents, like changing V apparance during the game, costumize cars, buying new homes , random events and horrrible npc AI .The game have a beautiful cenário, but it feels shallow because of the lack of Interact you can make in the world

The best metaphor for Cyberpunk 2077 is Johnny Silverhand himself. A messiah, a mix of Kurt Cobain and Che Guevara, a talented singer who loves to shape his own legend and has a charming personality but loses the struggle with his own demons. The same goes for the game. It tells a great story and forced me to ask myself difficult questions, but many of its gameplay mechanics do not evolve and its technical state upon release was abysmal. Cyberpunk’s true hero is not a person, but Night City – a vibrant, living creature of great diversity. The beauty of the metropolis is striking. [01/2021, p.22]

Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the most disturbing and mind-blowing RPGs in history, where every decision has a deep impact on our trail. CD Projekt RED tosses us to the center of a city filled with disgusting delights where every character deserves our attention in an immersive experience and overall, very rewarding. From the sarcastic and shadowy tone imposed by the countless scenes in the game, to the flexibility we have on the choices to face every situation that is presented, Night City is truly memorable. It’s a shame that the countless bugs spoil or diminish the impact of some resounding moments, but we are without a question, in the presence of one of the best games in 2020.

Measured against the extreme expectations, Cyberpunk 2077 can't fulfill any of them. But all in all, despite the countless small weaknesses and inconsistences, with interesting characters, great story and dialogues or the freedom concerning gameplay, CD Projekt delivers a unique and great RPG that every fan of the genre needs to play.
