Cybertrash 2077. Seven years of hype for a buggy trash. I give it a 5 because it's still playable on pc. On ps4 and xbox One, on the other hand, is a piece of ****

A good game, which could have been perfect. The immersion is incredible, the romances superb, the storytelling is very pleasant. Do not take it for a gta like but as an rpg with a very immersive frame. Lots of bugs fixed, don't listen to haters, test it and make up your own mind!

    Cons:

    - The NPCs walking around the world only give one-liners and walk around like zombies.
    - The police don't have cars and therefore can't chase you even if they wanted to.
    - Police spawn directly in front of you giving you zero chance to survive them and disappear when you drive 50 meters away
    - The controller sensitivity is really bad, even for an RPG. - The controller layout often leads to actions you don't intend to such as skipping dialogue when you need to crouch, going to the main menu instead of the in-game menu.
    - There is little to do outside of missions.
    - The AI is really bad, worse than most games of the last decade and more.
    - There is too much uninteresting loot to pick up and just clogs up your inventory.
    - Buying cars is a hassle from the constant messages to the poor interface to browse them.
    - Weapons seem repetitive after a while with little variety.
    - Lack of variety in weapon attachments and customization.
    - Clothing shops are too expensive and lack a variety of clothing, usually only having low-level items with only 30 items per shop.
    - Can't customize your hairstyle after spawn screen for screenshots and general gameplay or anything else about your physical character other than clothes. (This is an RPG you should be able to customize your character period)
    - Finding good crafting recipes seems borderline impossible.
    - NPCs drive like complete idiots. They can't switch lanes to go around cars. They will stop dead in the middle of highways for no good reason. They will run into you and your car without trying to stop. They will get stuck in intersections and cause massive traffic and can't go around each other. It's so bad.
    - This game feels way too perverted with little variety in themes open world.
    - But somehow there is only one male and female joytoy (prostitute) in the entire world. (Makes no sense)
    - The open-world does not seems to react to the story as you go along. Major things happen and not much usually changes in the world itself.
    - All the streets are named, but you can barely see 95% of the street names. You can't see street or venue names on the main map or minimap making playing with no HUD near impossible.
    - Feels like the entire game needs a massive DLC just to make it complete
    - Did I mention bugs on PC. I have had to reinstall the game three times, restart the game over 5 times, and reload saves a few dozen times.
    - The vast majority of things in this game is fake and non-interactable.
    - Food is practically useless because it only has out of combat buffs that cannot be consumed in combat.
    - you have practically infinite medical supplies within the first hour making healing guaranteed and the game less threatening.
    - Your character will overheat and take damage no matter what you do.

    Pros:
    - Good story
    - A variety of side missions that all feel worth doing.
    - A variety of ways to build your character.
    - The graphics are gorgeous.
    - A city LAYOUT so lifelike that I never fast travel.
    - The cars all feel different.
    - Currency in this game feels like you actually have to earn it.
    - Likeable characters.
    - Plenty of skills to acquire and upgrade.

    !!!SPOILER ALERT!!!
!!!DON`T READ IF YOU DIDN`T FINISH THE GAME!!!
Why can`t V be rewrited instead of Johnny, so the Johnny will be erased like V during the game? Why does he die anyways? If V`s brain is damaged how Johnny will continue living in his body? In the news it is said that tissues can be recovered, so Why V can`t perform this operation after erasing Johnny?
The game actually has 3 endings, not 5.
You give the body to Silverhand, leave the body for V, or suicide.
Also bugs during the game are terrible: textures, interface, getting killed with collision.

But beyond that it is not worth the price just for the gameplay. The story is linear, you are forced into dialog options that no reasonable person would say, all to drive the plot forward.

Some of the backgrounds are better than others. The corporate background is painfully boring at the start. But generally the story is filled with boring cutscenes.

The NPCs are totally forgettable and come at you a mile a minute. I'm a fair ways into the game and I can only really remember one NPC by name. Even then I would say they were fairly generic.

Weapons are a joke. I can shoot someone point blank range in the head with a pistol and at best they take 20% damage.

The combat UI is awful. I played a stealthy tech character and I was having to hold down all these keys and do all this stuff just to do very basic tech moves in combat.

Levelling up itself is honestly pretty forgettable because of how little you get when you do it.

I don't think the game is a 0 and it certainly isn't a 10. But I would not recommend anyone buy it. Even if it were half of its current price. It just doesn't offer enough to be that special.

    - Story is mediocre, nothing too interesting that will make you wonder or leave you thinking about it after playing the game
    - RPG elements are very light, it doesnt really feel like an RPG game in the first place, dialogues are very simple and in almost all cases leave no choice how to handle them
    - No way of actually customizing the character, except for visuals, the way your character acts, the choices he makes all feels predetermined, even the way our character speaks is annoying and cannot be changed
    - City looks great but when playing feels like an empty shell, very few activities that are available, basically only vending machines and rarely an NPC that can be talked to, almost all NPCs are not interactable and almost all doors are closed
    - Car physics are abysmal, GTA 3 had better ones
    - AI is pretty bad, enemies often will not take cover but just stand and take hits, esecially the melee ones
    - Combat is mediocre, typical bullet sponge enemies, everything feels calculated and artificial
    - Plethora of bugs and glitches, both visual and sound

    Pros:
    - City looks great, captures cyberpunk aesthethics pretty well
    - Graphics are good (but still not as good as hardware requirements would suggest)
    - I like the item system, theres a lot of them scattered around and you can customize the character looks pretty well with the outfit

You can escape from police literally only by driving or running away. Side quests are incredibly shallow with almost nonexistent backstory, I'm appalled that this game is made by the same people who made The Witcher 3. Character creator is lacking and I was shocked when I realized I can't even change my hair color after starting the game.

In short, if you want to enjoy this game just ignore the open world and NPCs and stick with the main story, maybe some side quests. This game is hundreds of kilometers wide but barely a centimeter deep, it's just saddening to see the game we've been waiting for nearly a decade in this state.

Even taking away the overall jankyness, bugs and glitches, Cyberpunk 2077 doesn't hold a candle to open world RPG's that have already been out for years.

Cyberpunk 2077 is one of those amazing games that you get every once in awhile. Similar to a Fallout game, Cyberpunk offers a giant, dense open-world with plenty of side jobs to do. Other than the missions and side missions, there's not much to do other than random events. Or at least, from my 15 hours of gameplay, that's all I could manage to find.

Other than the missions and side missions, there's not much to do other than random events. Or at least, from my 15 hours of gameplay, that's all I could manage to find.

However, given the open world isn't like Grand Theft Auto, and the driving mechanics are bad, I still think the RPG elements and story are the strongest parts of the game. As I'm writing this review, I see someone saying "The gunplay is clunky and unsatisfying. Stealth is uninspiring." and to that I say, it's an RPG experience. The reason the gunplay is clunky is because your character isn't a trained gunman, and they need experience before they get to the point where you are running around headshotting everyone with a single bullet. But until that point, you are an untrained mercenary who is trying to reach the top. The same can also be said about the stealth mechanics. You're only as good as you make your character to be. Think of an RPG like The Elder Scrolls, you're not going to be a master swordsman at level 1.

I really want to get into this game with this review, but I also want to stay spoiler free. All I can say is that this game has already made me cry with it's story telling. If you ever have the chance to experience this, I highly recommend doing so.

Buggy and graphical issues on my base ps4. I was walking towards one NPC and suddenly fell into the ground and died. Loading screen appeared, got back onto the game and fell into the ground and died again. And it kept repeating until I restarted the game. Gameplay and storylines are good. It would be better to enjoy if it doesn't make me feel like playing through a blurry eye.

I cannot understand why and how people set the expectations for a game so high that it is even more hyped up than the F**king second cuming of Jesus. It is not the most groundbreaking game ever, it has bugs definitely but we also have to keep in mind where this game is coming from. TW3 was the first BIG game for CDPR, they have done nothing like it before just look at the first two Witcher games and then imagine to completely change your style from medieval fantasy to retro-futuristic. I bet it wasn't the easiest project in their life and IMHO the game could have been longer in development, at least 1-2 years but also imagine the outrage mob going after the devs with death threats and the usual "I am consumer I want now" **** The game is good everything that says anything different plays on console or has either a **** pc or unreal expectations and should evaluate his priorities anew, which I think is the problem here.

I say 8/10 I love this game so far starting with the driving and ending on just farming stupid gang mobs around the city. The story is good and engaging so far and I bet it keeps on coming.
With future patches and updates this game will be a gem and I personally trust in CDPR even though they are corpo and did with their game what everyone does in the game. Sell it..

On that note c ya in Night City and don't try to get your brains fried ;)

EDIT: finished the game now and I am slightly more disappointed than before. 20h in before now 60+ and yeah.... What to say? The ending is rather underwhelming... wherein 2 of them are basically the same endings with slight differences on the way to it...
Also as some others probably realized while playing they completely forgot that there is basically 0 level of customization outside of clothing, which IMHO isn't that bad as some people say.. If a combo looks **** then don't wear it. I didn't cause nobody forced me to and 2 points of armor more? Please got other problems..

Dunno what to say... just came out of all the endings and I feel weird... it is at it's current state a 6/10 max...

Cyberpunk 2077. One of the most anticipated games of the last ten years. After 2015’s Witcher 3 the pressure was on CDPR to deliver something and after multiple delays it’s finally out.

I’m playing this game on PC and I’ve got nearly everything on ultra in 4K and also ray tracing is on. This is with DLSS 2.0 turned on. I’ll come back to this.

I’ve got about 25 hours into this game now so it’s a good time to stop and deliver a pre completion verdict.

The good. This game looks good. Like really good. Ray tracing is something nvidia keep banging on about and saying how it’s the next step in gaming etc but in reality there are less than 20 games that support it. Cyberpunk 2077 is one of them and wow it works. The lighting in this game is absolutely sensational. Night city comes into its own at night time for obvious reasons. Wet rain covered streets and neon glow everywhere the eye can see.

The game starts with a fast pulse. Story getting thrown at you to pull you in. Sadly though this is where it starts to go downhill. The tutorials come and I’ve played a lot of games and I can honestly say this is not a good tutorial. It barely explains what you have to do and just expect ms you to kind of know already.

After grinding my way through the 4 main tutorial sections I got back into the game. More action... well. More running around looting stuff. I’ve spent more hours looking at the floor picking stuff up that anything else. The precision needed to pick items up is something that only a highly skilled marksman would have. It’s arduous to say the least. So what do you do with all the loot. Well... most of it is junk. By the time I found a shop to sell and buy stuff I started to realise shops are almost redundant in this game. You will pick up so much stuff you’ll have no need to buy weapons etc unless it’s specific items needed for missions etc.

This brings me into the character appearance. At first I kitted my character out to look cool as anyone would in might city... after a few hours I found myself looking like a clown dragged backwards through a jumble sale. Why? The clothing has armour points attached. So unless you want to die within one shot you’ll have to slap them hot pants and rain coat on. Don’t forget your slippers and straw hat.

The weapons aren’t much better. It’s a constant upgrade or the enemies will be bullet sponges. I found myself pumping 10 rounds into enemies heads before they’d go down and that with weapons I had only just swapped in a short while ago. The shooting is poor too. This isn’t a FPS but there are games with a similar viewpoint like Farcry 5 for example that absolutely wipe the floor with it in terms of shooting ability. I’ve mostly been exploring night city on foot but occasionally it’s nice to drive places a distance away. Well that’s what I thought. The driving is possibly some of the worst I’ve experienced in an open world game. The cars and bikes handle so badly it’s really laughable. You can crash cars at full speed and. I thing happens. You can exit cars at full speed and your character will just be planted stationary in the position you exit the vehicle. This is very poor. The map is almost unusable with thousands of icons littered everywhere. The GPS system in open work games is never good but I found this on to be like a big city taxi driver taking me on the longest route possible only to drop me off at the back entrance with no route in. Now when I worked out how to use the map and select a mission I thought I was gone clear... wrong. Missions are constantly popping up in what feels like a minute by minute basis. I can’t go anywhere without my phone going off alerting me to a nearby mission. There are billions of them and they want you to know that all the time. You can’t move without getting a new one pop up on screen.

The visuals and story are what keep this game going but they are not without problems too. I’m playing on PC and like I mentioned early I’m using DLSS 2.0 to run this game at a higher frame rate. DLSS is known to cause some burring at times so I thought I’d turn it off just to see... wrong. The game dropped to about 5FPS. It was like stop animation. My graphics card sounded like a black hawk. I quickly turned it back on. While the console versions have been absolutely riddled with bugs I’ve gotten away quite well on PC so far. I’ve got Cyberpunk 2077 installed on a hyper fast m.2 ssd so thought I’d have no popping or loading issues but still I have cars popping up in the background and occasionally NPC’s vanish or appear in front of me. Like I said most of my bugs are minor but still annoying considering it’s a game of this magnitude.

This is a game I really really wanted to love but sadly it has fallen way short of my expectations. It feels like a first person RPG looter where looting is the main goal. 6/10

Enemy AI In shooting is just **** Story which should be one of the strongest parts is ok but only main character has arc and story could have gone much deeper into the world.

The crowd density of the city is unmatched in any game by far. It's really helps bring everything to life with more immersion. Many repeats of NPCs however. The gunplay feels fantastic early. Super weighty, and the sound design is incredible. People say it's spongey, it's an RPG, not an FPS. It isn't spongey like The Division, enemies do react to being shot, umm, sometimes. Don't expect to kill with one headshot early on but there are perks that can help with that when coming from stealth. When you get a critical headshot it's very rewarding, especially when you know you modified or crafted a weapon, or leveled up or utilized a perk to make it happen. You can't go into this thinking it's an fps. You have to be strategic, and the customization of perks and weapons is deep! On difficult, the game is very challenging early, the ai is intense, all though not always consistent. For example when overheating enemies with quick hacks when unseen, the ai just takes it without much reaction. The action gets fast and intense with great pace and a phenomenal score. Unfortunately this doesn’t last. If only. The combat gets very boring once you start leveling up. The AI is exposed and quite honestly it pains me to say, horrible. Even on the highest difficulty the game is extremely easy. You can kill almost anyone with a single headshot after a while, which is fine by me, except most NPCs just wait for you to do so. There is hardly any challenge at all unfortunately, and this really drags the game down. NPCs can be found zonking out in the corner without a care in the world awaiting for the grim reaper that is you. The story of the game is the strength, but it can’t compare to the brilliance of the Witcher, so be sure to reset your expectations. The life paths unfortunately don't seem to effect the game very much, and feel a bit disjointed. I'm playing as a Nomad, and I act like I have known people in Night City for a long time right away. There's some heavy exposition done with a montage which is disappointing, and I question the replay-ability from a life path perspective. Sure you can play again in an entirely different way, but the narrative seems to drive itself far more than I anticipated. It does seem like your choices matter to a degree, but I don't feel like my life path choice matters at all. I have avoided some conflict thought dialogue, but expected there would be more choice and passive options overall. With that said, the writing of each individual mission is intriguing and well crafted. Quest design is excellent! There are several outcomes possible in some scenarios. You can get to 100 hours easily, but the longer I played the less satisfied I became. There's a ton of thoughtful gigs, meaningful side quests, and places to explore. When you invest in crafting and selling all your collectibles your time is going to shoot up way up, and it's rewarding for only the beginning stages of the game. After that it’s an unbearable grind. If you are going to do a slow burn, you'll have to make some mental excuses as the main story has much urgency. Urgency is good for story, but conflicting for open world rpgs. Structure is important, and it isn’t well designed in Cyberpunk 2077. For those looking only for a quick story this will be perfect, but you will be rewarded more for exploration, and a city this dense demands it. So the structure has a confound, but it's a matter of perception.

There's an overwhelming amount of missions to do in Night City. I wish there was more opportunity to take advantage of some of the set, such as sit down and eat a meal or have a drink like in RDR2, or upgrade your apartment, purchase a new one, customize your look after creation, customize your car, play the arcades you keep seeing, etc. We know CDPR creates fantastic DLC, so it isn't out of the question. With that said I can't speak highly enough about the crowd density in this massive city. This game is going to get a ton of hate because of all the hype and delays, and the very unfortunate console experience. Some of that is deserved if the game isn't playable, but here on PC I haven't had many issues. The issues are with the game itself. Overall the world, and attention to story feels solid, despite a questionable structure. The gameplay has been exciting with some solid depth, but ultimately brings the game down with bad AI and way too much loot that makes crafting worthless because you are constantly finding better equipment than you can craft. You’ll need to empty your inventory every hour which is a pain in the butt. I made a heavy investment spanning 100 hours because I love the city and many moments of the story CDPR created. Unfortunately the longer I played the more flaws I saw.

The biggest disappointment though is the story.. at the very beginning everything seemed fine with the slow pace and getting into the mood of the game but then suddenly the story starts to get rushed and everything seems to fall apart... I hardly get to know some of the characters that seems relevant to the story when theres a part where the game skips 6 months ahead while showing a short montage what happens between my character and the others. That just **** lazy and dumb! Some of the side quests I've tried are just plain boring and really short to complete. I truly hope this game starts to get better soon.. I will change my user score if things get better.

Character development in the meaning of perks and stuff is a little meh in my opinion. There is a lot of perks about damage and stuff but only small % of them is about unlocking new mechanics because you are so good at something. But certain levels at something unlock more options in the missions which is really nice.
Driving cars and motorcycles is stiff.
Shooting is not bad but could be done much better.
Character movement in my opinion is really stiff and clunky. Some controls are really unintuitive. Some moves are not available. But it is definitely playable.

After all. CDPR always were really good at writing stories and they did this as good as always.
It is their first game like that and it's not a masterpiece. But it was expected.

I had even waited 7 months (v1.23), but there are still lots of immersion-breaking bugs like floating cars, semi broken side quests. In one instance a door panel just said "dynamic text" after entering the code because they forgot to change the text. I also didn't find the end to the main quest to be very satisfying, but not the worst. I'm hoping there will be some DLC or something, Night City has/had so much potential if every detail had been fully fleshed out. Anyway, I've found Cyberpunk 2077 to be very hollow, compared to Witcher 3, after my first play through. Expand

In 2018, we were promised a very deep and detailed RPG with no punches being pulled and many other great things like a cutting edge npc system, a very deep general AI and interactivity on par with GTA V or RDR2, heavy focus on RPG elements and player choice being extremely important etc...
It was said that CP2077 is first and foremost an RPG and shooter elements are secondary, the city is extremely detailed and interactivity is like nothing we have seen before and the list goes on.
The game was intended and MARKETED for HARDCORE rpg gamers and we thought that we'd be playing CP2077 for at least 2 years because of its depth, variety, replayability, and interactivity.
This is where everything falls apart. ultimately this game as of this moment is intended for average players who want to kill some time and rest from a long work day. The game that was promised to us in 2018 is non existent now and this is why: the RPG elements like player choice, customization, the life paths and the class system suffer from design choices that NO AMOUNT of updates and patches are able to fix. The customization both for your character and the things you own is second to none, the clothing options are very limited and V can hardly look good. For example, I wanted to make my carefully created female V to look sexy in skimpy and neon colored clothing and look like the Moxes but the game threw me the lamest clothing options which are ridiculous; why and HOW does a tank top give me 230 armor???? clothing aside there is the horrendous system that doesn't allow you to change V's appearance, give them tattoos or at least change their hairstyle and color; HOW CAN YOU NOT INCLUDE IN GAME CUSTOMIZATION????? the weapons are great themselves but I want just more than slapping a scope and calling it a day; where are the skins and dye systems like in the Witcher 3??
The npc system is perhaps one of the most disappointing aspects of the game, they are not alive in any shape or form and don't react properly to the world around them.
every day I ask myself, why and HOW did they market this game the way they did and did they know that this game was FAR from finished???

Aside from all the problems, I believe that there is a masterpiece hidden under the game we have now. Night city is easily THE MOST beautiful city that I've ever seen in a game; there are many moment when you see a stairway in the middle of the street and when you walk in, you find yourself in a whole different part of the city.
The Cyberpunk theme is implemented masterfully and it can drown you in its aesthetics. The music ABSOLUTELY AMAZING and masterful.
BUT, this hidden masterpiece was never delivered to us because of one sole factor, M O N E Y.
the managers at CDPR wanted to release the game at any cost to cash in and leave but that proved disastrous. this game needed at least one more year to finish because in my opinion, 70% of the game is missing. this is most evident in the game's story; the story is disappointingly short and RUSHED AF.
in the end, all I can say is that CP2077 was rushed and wasn't even close to release but I want to believe that after a year or two, CDPR will deliver on the ACTUAL Cyberpunk 2077, the game we were waiting on for almost 10 years.. I'll give this game a 7/10 now and I hope to come back in a year or two to make this 7 a 10.. Let's F**king go CDPR, GET IT TOGETHER.

I don't know all the fuss, I never been played board game but from what I am able to run on my **** 770 gtx 2gb it is astonishing game visuals all you've can dream of it has. It's really cool open world game and it's action very mature , nice design and animations, probably best cyberpunk game since original Deus ex. I am just at begging but it looks like very promising story.

Game is good (if you have a strong rig) but overall it's not what they promised too many bugs, glitches and bad optimization. Graphics are pretty good (at High/Ultra settings) but they are NOT amazing and as for gameplay it's ok but there is nothing new really . Driving is way less interesting than GTA by the way.

Don't listen to the overhyped disappointed kids.

Cyberpunk seems to be a decent game, which suffers from a rushed bad launch. Possibly a data crunch coders revenge on the company management. Putting it simply I'll never again pre-order any game, as it encourages developers to deliver an unfinished, unpolished, untested product too early. I did that with Warhammer Age of Reckoning

Possibly a data crunch coders revenge on the company management.
Putting it simply I'll never again pre-order any game, as it encourages developers to deliver an unfinished, unpolished, untested product too early. I did that with Warhammer Age of Reckoning Online and I did that with BF4, just as I did that with Sponge Bob Square pants and Cyberpunk. You know what... the only one that wasn't a disappointment was the Sponge Bob.

I play on an older powerhorse i7-965x PC so there is a multitude of errors in CyberPunk 2077. Which weighs on the overall experience, but most of these said errors and glitches don't seem to be game-breaking more like immersion-breaking hiccups that could and probably will be resolved by CD-Project in the foreseeable future. Thou I must admit the the AVX compatibility is a big oversight on their part, as there seem to be still a lot of people with older powerhorse cpus who didn't upgrade to new machines simply because their good old powerhorses are still running 99% of games flawlessly. This is the 2nd time I encountered the AVX issue with a game and the other game was Children of Orc on steam.

I . So the first one I encountered was the AVX crash after tutorial in a bar, as soon as I left the pub game would crash on me in exactly the same spot.
So far to my understanding, this hasn't been resolved by CPR and I managed to bypass it by running the game with a user modified exe file available on ModNexus it bypasses the AVX error. It does so I assume by disabling its calling functions completely in the game file. To my understanding, the AVX functions are responsible for things like where the objects and NPC are, and when in the game.

II. Disabling AVX could explain later behaviour/glitching that constantly repeats in-game afterwards.
Lots of objects seem misplaced, three or more NPCs spawning at the same time in the same place and making a T pose, cups, burgers, cigarettes hanging in space at the same time another cigarette is being smoked by an NPC they are assigned to who is nearby, or at that spot.

III. Objects that seem to be collectable/pickup enabled, yet I am unable to pick them up, often ones that are laying on or near other objects, like some drugs on a bin, or a card by the doors in your apartment. Seems like the larger object would be covering them somehow wits it mesh or something so that they can't be interacted with. But this could have to do with AVX as well.

IV. Some objects seem to have their textures missing or there is something wrong with their geometry, but more like missing or incorrect textures. One way or another they are displayed as something completely out of place.

    V. Ragdolls and bodies behave strangely after they die, some you can mutilate further some you don't. Some are rock solid some flop about, most of the posses are a bit off and hanging over the ground.

VI. All character facial on body animations for random people conversations seem to be missing.

VII. You can't just mug people, how do you want me to be a cyberpunk if I can't mug people right in the middle of the street for fun.

VIII. Random NPCs hit absolute panic mode not just after you shoot or blow up a grenade nearby but as well as soon as you bump into them with your character especially while running. They hit survival mode, scream a lot, make the rest people around them panic and don't seem to leave that mode until you leave the area, and come back later. Overall it feels immersion breaking, would be much better if they would return to normal activities after a while if the danger is over.

VIII. Didn't notice any changes in weather effects so far so that's meh.

    IX. Smoke has no physics.

    X. Mirrors do not reflect the character and the world reflected is very blurry. Beside the shabby apparent window.

XI. You can't play in the third person camera, besides while driving the car.

XII. Difficulty and Enemy NPC behaviour after being attacked/hacked is rather limited, their spotting range is quite short as well. This makes the whole experience rather easy.

XIII. Some items and objects have their description messed up and it's showing the literal text path from the file and then the text of the description, or some similar blunder.

XIV. Geometry elements like wires etc. sometimes are incorrectly sized or attached to building so it looks like they're socketed into a thin air etc. mostly encountered on rooftops.

XV. There is no wall running and the parkour elements are a bit stiff. As well rooftop areas are rather empty.

XVI. Most cars drives ok but the collisions are a joke, in both terms, the damage/destruction and the heaviness/weight feeling, cars feel like they're made of cardboard because of this. They lack velocity if I'm correct.

XV. Environmental destruction is not what they promised.

    6/10 for now.

This is some **** indie game thing, and not befitting a AAA game. But then CDPR is always trash at making good kb&mouse controls, the PC market always being an afterthought for them after pandering to the holy consoles.

The UI is extremely convoluted. WHY???? You got games like GTA, which are basically Cyberpunk in current times, and the UI is really clean and intuitive. Not in Cyberpunk, oh no, the UI is all over the place, with multiple keys doing the same thing, having to press multiple keys at the same time, etc.

The driving part is really unfun.

I refunded it to Steam after playing a little under 3 hrs, but I'm very much willing to give it a second chance some months later, after CDPR releases a bunch of major patches fixing all these issues.
This game was not ready for release even after these delays.

Buggy mess. Mostly little bugs. Major bug, one weapon glitch preventing you using weapons that was showstopping until I read up how to get out of it on the internet. Medium bug, quest door that would not open if approached from the back entrance to a building, only if you go through the front, lots of minor glitching. Has not crashed on me though.
I said a good story, but it isn't 'epic' like the Witcher series games.
Too much like a lesser Grand Theft Auto.
Combat doesn't feel that inspired to me, maybe I am doing it wrong.
Too many generic side quests. This brings the score down a lot for me. In Witcher 3 I did the sidequests because I wanted to find out what happened. Even if they'd gone grey and were worth no XP. These side quests are terribly generic 'go here kill this cyberpsycho', 'go there steal that car'. Generic, boring. Makes it feel grindy. The story mission is pretty great though and 'some' sidequests also have that CDPR flair to them.

6 for being buggy, 8 if it was polished. Buggy is never acceptable. Its a good game, but I recommend waiting until they polish it up and the price drops a bracket or two.

    Unpolished, Unrefined, and Unfinished

One can definitely observe that CDPR attempted to attend to details. The unfortunate reality is that for whatever reason, they failed to carry on. It is greatly disappointing to look at the consequences of their failure, as it is rather evident that this product has astonishing potential. Of course, such lamenting is meaningless at this point.

The game is 'playable', and can be entertaining, despite all the limiting factors. I myself in fact enjoyed the gameplay, however if someone asks me if I would recommend purchasing it, the answer is NO. The more you play, the more antagonising it becomes. I mean seriously, GTA2 from 1999 had far superior driving A.I.

I waited 8 years for cyberpunk and whilst clearly the game did not live up to the hype, it's still an incredibly enjoyable experience. It's just so unfortunate that the launch overall was unacceptable.

    Graphics:
The game even on medium settings is quite pretty. My hardware defaults to high preset for some reason but even from that and seeing the rtx stuff, the game looks phenomenal on those settings. Night City is such an exciting environment to explore and one of my favourite aspects of the game is just driving around and taking in the atmosphere. Just be warned on low the game looks quite flat and given the launch performance, that's how most people who don't have the latest high end hardware will have to experience the game. Plus it can take a while for the engine to load in textures on occasion leading to that heavily memed ps1 aesthetic (though I have to admit I find it oddly charming). Some people have also complained about substandard effects like bullet decals on water but that's relatively minor for me personally.

    Sound:
The soundtrack has a nice mix of genre's (especially the radio's) with a mix of ambient electronic, metal/punk, rap and more aggressive techno. Go listen to the Pacific Dreams station, it's fantastic. Weapon and vehicle sounds are pretty okay, nothing ground breaking. I have noticed however that audio can occasionally disappear from guns due to bugs.

    Story:
I won't go into any spoilers and I haven't completed the final mission but from what i've played so far I've enjoyed the story quite a lot. Apart from the irony of corporate exploitation being the central point and cdpr forcing staff to do 6 months straight of over time, the game handles mature topics extremely well and hit me in the feels. As someone who has dealt with depression and anxiety, I felt that particular topic was well handled. However, I've noticed some dialogue that just doesn't work when asking every single question in the dialogue tree and even though keanu reeves is godtier, I find some of Johnny's writing in particular, lacklustre. In addition, a lot of side quests have perceived choice where in reality, their is only one actual outcome.

    Gameplay.
Shooting stuff is fun, Driving is fun, Melee combat is clumsy, Augmenting yourself is neat since (especially the powered jump). Basically think open world sandbox Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Unfortunately I feel the game misses the bar in terms of being an immersive sim but I'm not 100% that's what the devs were going for. I've had friends also complain that other than quests the world is quite barren.

    Performance & Bugs
Pre 1.05 the game was awful. I've had people say the game runs fine for them but completely discredit those who've had a less than stellar experience. It's not that it's unplayable for me, but it was for some pals and I feel that the overall experience was diminished from having to lower graphics, deal with inconsistent fps, crashes and a plethora of bugs such as broken UI elements, getting locked into place needing a reset, broken physics, gun models disappearing, enemies floating and t-posing away during cutscenes, I could go on. It's also important to mention that I had specs above the recommended for high with no raytracing. At launch I had to keep the game to mid-low with still some frame drops due to poor optimisation, especially in some areas like outside the apartment, chinatown and japantown. Sometimes frames would just die for no reason and stay that way until I reset the entire system. Other times I had to hard reset my pc because the game just randomly locked up everything.

    Ethics:
This game was built on false advertising, abuse of the development team and severe mismanagement. I find that poignant to mention for some folk.

TLDR: A fun game that doesn't live up to the hype. It looks pretty if you can run it but it launched buggy as hell and the devs were hella shady. I would have rated it an 8 if I hadn't of noticed most of the things are done better in other games and it didn't launch so naff.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. A failure in storytelling
Not going to focus on bugs, non functional abilities or CDPR lying and producing a story mission for media purposes that was way cooler then the one in game.

    Instead talking about the story:
Biggest problem is the pacing. In a couple of weeks you`ll be dead so everything except that issue should be irrelevant. With that your whole open world goes to waste. Why create a bunch of side missions (which make up the bulk of the game) when you don`t have a reason to care. And if you choose to follow them and waste precious time, there are no consequences.

    Characters:
Jackies death is a complete waste. Didn`t move me at all. His calling card is beeing Mr-generic-goofy-nice-guy, yet he is supposed to be family. So let him and Mama Welles be family. Give us the opportunity to spend more time with him, doing jobs, exploring Watson at least, etc before starting the main mission. Could help with the pacing as well. Trigger Dexter with a certain level of street cred, so that we get some time to get to know the world and establish relationships.

Johnny has zero redeeming qualities. While you can easily antagonize him, the narrative of V and him getting along doesn`t work. No key moments, no development. All of a sudden it`s we`re cool now and I`d give you control over my body 3 times in a row. Also a lot of wasted potential regarding conflict. Let him take over and force a decision on V, the player doesn`t like. Give the player free reign to play as Johnny and act completely different, for a change. On top: Keanu might be a cool dude, might even have charisma but he`s not a very good actor.

    No attention to detail:
After abducting Hanako the reporter is talking about it right outside the market but when you enter an elevator, the same reporter is talking about the power failure.
Crimes commited in the Badlands results in police showing up, even though it`s nomansland.
Doing an NPCD job you can find orders from an NPC you already killed ages ago.
Planting a bug in Tyger Claw territory the mission is a success, even when you kill all the gangers, giving everybody a reason to be suspicious.

    Telling a story through reading:
NCPD missions present a variety of text, telling little tales and while being a nice touch, it`s excessive. Let me experience this through dialouge and choices, not by reading.

    No immersion:
People ducking and staying that way instead of running away. Cars not driving according to traffic lights and runing you over even with given the chance to stop. The city beeing flat out empty at times.

    First person:
Not a fan. With the importance of style and clothing, I don`t get the decision not to show it to the player.

    The phone:
Sometimes I get a call while beeing in a conversation and it`ll be accepted regardless. You trying to hide from Arasaka, yet every fixer got your number and gives you a call the second you enter his territory.

And 1000ish more complaints: not being able to create and save various outfits, netrunning beeing undrwhealming, life paths don`t matter, side missions beeing basically the same, no consequences at all, no actvities....

All in all shallow and disappointing. Only time the game made me feel anything was the suicide ending.

Okay so up until now I have been defending Cyberpunk and focusing more on the story and tried to ignore all the glitches and stuff but I just can't anymore.

Okay, let's say it would be understandable if the game was in development for 3 years and people would be pressuring them

Okay, let's say it would be understandable if the game was in development for 3 years and people would be pressuring them to release the game and of course it would be buggy and unfinished. BUT ALMOST 9 YEARS!
I don't even know where to start... The performance is absolutely awful, like I understand there is a lot of details but come on... I'm not running on the best PC, I am somewhere mid-range, i5 7400, 16GB DDR4, and RX 560 4GB, I can still run a lot of mainstream titles on high settings and get good fps. But with Cyberpunk I have to play it at low settings, 720p, and I'm barely hitting 30-40 fps. That's insane.
It's true that too much hype was going to be the downfall for this game because no game can live up to those expectations, but I did not expect to be this disappointed, mainly with performance and glitches and just overall an unpolished game.
The game has a good story I will give it that, but the glitches and performance just distract you and it breaks the immersion.
Also, the way they lied about the performance on the last-gen consoles is so **** dumb. Like how the **** is a normal PS4 going to run the game at 30 fps when a mid-range PC can barely hit 30 at the lowest possible settings. Holy **** At first, I was defending and feeling bad for CDPR but they deserve what they are getting, they deserve the lawsuits. Don't get me wrong I don't wish harm to the developers but to the people who are in charge. They deserve all the **** they are getting.
I really like the story, it has flaws, but let's be honest it's the only good thing that the game has as of right now. I am almost done with the story but it was partly ruined because of all the bugs and immersion-breaking glitches.
Personally, I will wait a few months for new patches and updates, maybe even a year, I just want to see the game for what it's supposed to be. And it's really a waste that it had to be like that.

It's alright, some bugs not a big deal. Though it is pretty weird to see some very high ratings from critic, but hey it's from them.

The game is practically unplayable in it's current state.Such a waste this game has a huge potential, and I believe after many patches it will be great.I think they should have delayed it to 2021.

The main advantage of the game is its visual design and design. The city at night looks great! This is a game from the very same CDPR, so the characters, quests and plot are very good here.
However, the technical condition of the game is poor. I bet 7/10

But as a lot of people are saying, while the world is large and detailed it falls flat with AI that are very detached from it. Driving is sub par, unless you’re on a motorcycle, I did find riding a bike fun. The character archs feel very rushed, especially in the first portion of the game and new quests are just dumped on you with little to no motivation for them outside of “go here shoot these guys make money.” A lot of it just doesn’t carry the emotional weight The Witcher 3 did. It saddens me. Maybe updates will improve it but, who knows. Expand

An interesting game that unfortunately fell victim to itself, with expenses on overpromising marketing that would be better used in the QA department.

The game story is actually pretty awesome, I didn't finish yet, but so far I liked very much, but the gameplay experience with this tons of bugs and technique problems is just unplayble, even with high end pc's it's really hard to get a good experience, in my opinion CD should had to get more time to develope the game.

The main and side quests are good and really make all of its drawbacks an extreme disappointment. Now to the drawbacks like the plethora of immersion and game-breaking bugs, that really hinder the experience and alone drop this game a point for me, especially the horrendously bad performance (until they get fixed). But the moment that was the most impactful for me is the moment I realized everything is staged and the world isn't really alive. For example, NPC A.I. is completely unfinished and arguably isn't even present. NPCs don't react realistically to anything you do or do not react at all, all have a one-line generic tough-guy response but **** their pants as soon as you do anything (like literally you shoot a guy in a nuke-proof car with a pistol and he runs out and squats begging for mercy). The police A.I. is also nonexistent as they spawn right next to you and can't even follow you so all you have to do is run away and since they can't drive cars (lol) you are home free. The city, while being incredibly beautiful and painstaking detailed, is dead, because there is so little to do in it, except quests, and it doesn't react to your presence in any meaningful way. But if and when all this gets fixed I will change my score and review accordingly, which there is a high likelihood of happening, since this is CDPR we are talking about. Expand

Great RPG (8/10) with solid story and amazing characters, not 10 because story is really short. Really crappy open-world and game-play (2/10), buggy and repetitive. Graphics and engine (5/10) sooooo blurry even with ultra settings and film-grain off and textures are like from 2010. Really sorry CDPR.

My game has crashed once, and other than pop ins here and there, really haven't had performance issues or glitches. With that said before diving into my review, I do wanna say gamers deserved this. Gamers often act like entitled brats, and when this title was delayed gamers took to social to rage and some even sent death threats to the devs. Now yall see why they kept delaying the game and frankly it should have been delayed again.

With that said, I think this is a solid game. It's not great by any means, it has it's moments of being a good game, and moments where it's clear CDProjektRed aren't that experienced with making a shooter.
Hand to hand combat outright sucks in the game. Melee weapons are ok but wonky.
The gunplay is hit or miss.
The game shines with it's world obviously as well it's characters. Which isn't a surprise, it's CDProjektRed. Good characters for them is just normal.

The story is ok, sometimes it does seem all over the place but at times gets back on track.
Pacing is solid and side quest are ok as well.

Other than the poor graphics on X1, the previous mentioned downsides, it's all an all a good game.
I plan on buying it a second time on PC to try it out close to what it was meant to be played, because let's be honest, this game was made to be maxed out on a 3080, not optimized to be played on PS4 or X1.

The best metaphor for Cyberpunk 2077 is Johnny Silverhand himself. A messiah, a mix of Kurt Cobain and Che Guevara, a talented singer who loves to shape his own legend and has a charming personality but loses the struggle with his own demons. The same goes for the game. It tells a great story and forced me to ask myself difficult questions, but many of its gameplay mechanics do not evolve and its technical state upon release was abysmal. Cyberpunk’s true hero is not a person, but Night City – a vibrant, living creature of great diversity. The beauty of the metropolis is striking. [01/2021, p.22]

Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the most disturbing and mind-blowing RPGs in history, where every decision has a deep impact on our trail. CD Projekt RED tosses us to the center of a city filled with disgusting delights where every character deserves our attention in an immersive experience and overall, very rewarding. From the sarcastic and shadowy tone imposed by the countless scenes in the game, to the flexibility we have on the choices to face every situation that is presented, Night City is truly memorable. It’s a shame that the countless bugs spoil or diminish the impact of some resounding moments, but we are without a question, in the presence of one of the best games in 2020.

Measured against the extreme expectations, Cyberpunk 2077 can't fulfill any of them. But all in all, despite the countless small weaknesses and inconsistences, with interesting characters, great story and dialogues or the freedom concerning gameplay, CD Projekt delivers a unique and great RPG that every fan of the genre needs to play.
