Computer Games MagazineThis is essentially a professional quality modification to “Blitzkrieg”, handled by another Russian developer with ties to original producers Nival Interactive. [Mar 2006, p.61]
-
Cuban Missile Crisis is a unique strategy game with a very cool premise and setting, though the combat itself can be a difficult mess.
-
The game has some fine elements, but feels a little too directed at times and while pulling two diverse genres together is novel, not really enough attention was paid to either to create an experience that will draw players back time and again.
-
The potential was there, and it could have done so much more.
-
The real crisis here is the lack of enjoyable gameplay.
-
About the only people that are going to enjoy this game are the ones who really get into alternate history settings, or people who really like a lot of details in their units and can put up with the problematic RTS glitches. Be prepared to micro-manage. Be prepared to save and reload. Often.
