    The game is fun, but lacking. Elements of epic but now IW (the devs Infinity Ward) are ripping of Black Ops II's zombies with the Extinction mode. Sad.

    Ghosts can probably be described as an full step back from Black Ops II and that's putting it lightly. There is no reason to delve into the specifics as most of the other users have already explained it all. This simply is a disappointing and nearly unplayable game.....

I didn't care for Black Ops II and heard horrible things about Ghosts but I thought I'd give it the benefit of the doubt and go ahead and get it on sale. Shame on me for thinking that!     Call of Duty is not a bad game. But the reason it is so popular is because it has not changed for at least the past 2 or 3 games. They use the same engine which makes textures look outdated. The Call of Duty franchise has become lazy in the making of there games. It also has one of the worst fan bases of all of them games.     SLI-videocards still aren't patched. People that play with cards such as the GTX590 (a few years ago a flagship) for example, can't play this game normally without all the textures flickering.

    To prove this game is even more a console rip-off: If you put a xbox controller in your PC, you would get aim assist.....

    Well, the multiplayer is one big joke. They overcimplicated the perk system, deleted the imense popular game mode "search and destroy" and replaced it with a lame version of it. This means that the game hasn't got a single one "no respawn" game mode. Also lag is still an big issue, especially when you play with parties. The game randomly crashes and in my case the game delivers every 30 minutes max a bluescreen of death.

    Well with so much wrong and almost 2 months after launch you should have expected some patches that fixed some of these things. Especially because they promised better PC-support. Now what exactly of what I described above did they patch? Nothing, not a single THING. nada noppes zilch.

    IW has lost a fan this year, better wait for BO3 guys, atleast Treyarch puts some effort in the PC version... And while all these problems in Ghosts continue the team over at IW is laughing their asses of and already making trailers for their "DLC" wich is probably going to be just as bad as the game.

    For IW: If you want to make a respected game, simply listen to the PC community. But even if the entire community screams of horror about your game. you guys will still change nothing. Maybe this will help you renember: You make the game for the people right? So why don't you listen to the people? It's more becoming a hobby for you guys to make worse games every year.    … Expand

    Typical dull and repetitive rubbish that seemed like it was dreamt up by some gun toting conspiracist. Poorly ported over to the computer and the campaign is just short of an arcade gun game. Don't bother spending your money on another one of these assembly line made games. They think they can just pour all their money into the graphics department, but that is not how games should be made.

    I bought this game for the reason of the steam winter sale. A sizeable 33% off seemed pretty good to me and I have enjoyed most of the previous call of duty titles. However, I don't know if Activision have some kind of grudge against the PC community or if they just forgot about us but the game feels sloppy. Now this is a new feeling I have felt for a call of duty game, they are normallyI bought this game for the reason of the steam winter sale. Also I don't think the campaign deserves a mention, I have precisely 14 minutes on record and that was the opening cut scene when I accidentally downloaded the single player. I thought I was never going to have my PC back. But if your really desperate for some fast mindless action and don't mind a bit of BS then be my guest and go for it. All I'm saying is that they better produce something pretty damn fine next year otherwise there profits might dwindle. Anyway I'm sticking to COD4 and MW2 for now.… Expand

Seeing how most CoD games generally have over 10,000+ users currently playing on Steam, this game never reaches over 5,000, that's telling you something. So buying them cheap, to avoid a bad buy, but this game is a whole different boat. It deliberately felt like they just released it in its current state just to bring in some extra money on top of what they got from the console releases.

    I'm going to give this game a 0, because with my current rig, which is really good, I simply cannot even play the game. The FPS stutter/drop is happening every 1-3 seconds, and lasts 1-3 seconds. I can't even aim, and I can't even run in a straight line. you Activision/Infinity Ward, this is the last time I ever give you money. Take your decline in sales, and teach your ****ing employee's how to code and optimize games.    … Expand

    The action packed game play and graphics makes up for the forgettable characters and weird story line in single player. The muliplayer is very fun and I especially enjoy unlocking patches, backgrounds, and gear through in-game achievements. I also like the squad point system and experimenting with different guns, attachments, and perks.     I do still stand on my point that it is not next gen but it is an improvement ie we have prettier maps albeit not up to par of what other games have and are doing. Super fast reactions as well as a good knowledge of maps seem to be extremely important in doing well. Staying together as a team also seems to work well.

    I from my experience have had more then just a handful of games/deaths where I'm almost certain aimbots and other hacks are being used. This is not a small problem but quite common compared to Black Ops where I didnt have consistent problems.

    I feel this game actively promotes camping with way too many little corners which allow people to hide with nothing but one point to aim at. Now I know there is always a corner in COD maps which can be abused but were talking not one two or three but multiples on every map.

    When I first heard about bigger maps I thought great. That was until I played on them and found that the action would be miles away with no enemies in sights. Until next minutes when there everywhere and I get killed 3 times in a row.

    Onto my last point as I could go on forever but the spawn system is not just bad, terrible but flawed from the very ground up. If you cannot implement a system where by you are not within line of sight and xx metres from a opposite teams player them you should not have released the game. I couldn't believe it when I saw them advertising a DLC map pack after how terrible this game currently and most likely always will be. We should get the DLC for free. Do you actually expect us to buy a DLC after the countless lies. No quick-scoping lie, we'll fix things LIE (you clearly carried on working on DLCs).

    In the future all I can say is I should of listened to the warnings if you can only choose one game to buy my advice is do not buy this one. In all seriousness either buy Black Ops 2 or just wait until the best COD producer Treyarch does next Novembers release. I have faith they will give us what WE want not fish and dog ai that no one cares about.

    I loved COD and IW you have got so big headed that it has blown right up in your face this time when if you had just listened to what your fans said you would of at least made an average game as creativity is not something you do well.

    Revised from 1 to 2 only due to the MP having a few nice new bits and bobs but nothing worth more then a £12 DLC    … Expand

Graphics are pretty good for my taste, but gameplay have not changed at all. This is big problem for someone who already did sink over 300 hours to masterpiece Modern Warfare 2.

If you don't know what Call of Duty is you musta been living under a rock or something.As the tradition says,we get CoD every freakin' year.TBH,CoD has slighty changed every year.And every year it sinks deeper and deeper.After the fenomenal CoD 4 came ALOT of CoD games that were the same.Of course,after Black Ops 2 came out I started thinking that CoD is going in the right direction.Blops2 was pretty damn good.But,that only aplies to Treyarch,beacuse it seems that Infinity Ward just doesn't give a lets see the mess that came from the labs of IW...oh boy...

    Okay,first things first:the graphics.I'm not the graphics guy,but I must say that Blops2 had better graphics (I promise that I will stop comparing these two,okay?).I don't know,just Blops2 had more lively colors,but Ghosts has more of a Grey pallet kinda-thingy.Even the character models look dull (atleast in SP).

    Now,lets talk about gameplay and Singleplayer.Gameplay wise,it's a pretty much the same.There are some cool features in the game (like Riley,sniping with the remote sniper... etc.),but none of these features are that ground breaking...So gameplay is standard.Its fluid,fast,and it can keep you entertained.Okay,now comes the singleplayer.It sucks compared to ANY CoD I played.Every CoD had the singleplayer campaign,which was a short,but pretty epic,experience.Ghosts threw that outta the fooping window!You can predict the games story by just watching the news on TV!So apparently China or whoever stole some nice ODIN equipment blah blah blah EXPLOSIONS,boom boom boom,GUNFIGHTS.Thats the only thing you will experience this time around!The main character is Logan or something which doesn't even talk...I thought we got over that like 5 years ago!Even Blops2(I LIED)hasn't got a main character who doesn't talk¨!You can clearly see that IW was strugling to bring something this time around!Like wtf?So after a while your gonna finish this game...Your dads gonna be killed,Rileys gonna be shot,someones brain fell out when making this game....at the end of this stupid campaign you get a RETARDED cliffhanger,which probally means there is gonna be more of ghosts,which I REALLY hope not.In terms of SP that is.Hey,Jack you retarded say.What about extinction? IN THE SACK.Extinction is zombies but with aliens.SO THAT MEANS IT SUCKS SO BADLY THAT I HAD TO TURN OFF MY PC!Nothing in extinction makes sense!The ONLY good thing is the LOL easter egg,but even that can be boring after 10 minutes UGH!

    Okay,here comes the multiplayer part.Suprisingly enough,there are some pretty cool modes here and there.Like Safeguard,Hunted,Infected etc.The player customization is pretty much THE BEST THING IN THE GAME!woot!*pops confetti*!There is thousands and thousands of possible combinations(you can even be a girl)!There are some special options,like the Ghillie suit,or the ghost mask,or the new ghost mask.Weapons and everything else is standard.But now you can get these tokkens or whatever so you can earn easier,without leveling.Its a nice touch,but it cant fix an ultimately broken game.Maps are bigger which is better and there is A CRAP TONN of 'em.Also some maps can be destroyed in a battlefieldy way...there is a map with a gas station and if you destoy it it blows the up and it changes the gameplay a little bit and it opens new place to camp from.woow...So in conclusion multiplayer is the reason why to buy this game.As for bugs there are few but they are not gamebreaking,apart the ridicolous requerments.The next gen engine is not that much better than the standard engine.
    BUT,there is a thing that bugs me....when they announced Ghosts,I thought this game would be more stealth based.That is a HUGE dissapointment.For me,atleast.

    So in conclusion,this game is not for everyone.For people who want to play the SP are gonna be dissapointed.People who want some nice weekend action,they would probally want to rent it.Only the TRYHARD FANS of CoD are gonna enjoy the game.But hey,that's how Activision makes money,right?    … Expand

Why they even released this on PC is beyond me as they clearly couldn't care less about the platform.     Removed defining Call of Duty game modes (s&d, demolition, capture the flag, ground war, headquarters). 3 hour long campaign. Miniscule health in core. Party chat in search and destroy.     -MOAR players in MP! This is one thing I really miss about COD4. I always disliked the ridiculous amount of cheap deaths in the console versions of these games and now the same is true for the PC versions. In COD4 for PC, when there were more players in a match, you would almost always spawn near your own players. This was because the available spawns were limited to somewhere farther away on the map since players on your team were almost always too close to spawn points (which forced the spawn algorithm to avoid using them) behind/near you. This also prevents people from running around too much and getting behind you since being in the open for too long would always lead to a quick death when there were more players in a match.

    -Bigger maps (and ones that make camo/ghillie suits useful the maps in newer games don't seem to have the vegetation that the older games had, meaning ghillie suits were either pointless or not even used in the game).

    -Better sound/graphics. To this day, the greys and dark greens of the old COD's give a much grittier feel. The silly bright colors make it feel too arcadey, and make it seem like a paintball match.

    -Destructible/dynamic environments. Maybe not on the scale of the BF games, but it would add complexity to the gameplay without taking away from the immediate accessibility these games have always had.

    -A WELL WRITTEN storyline that isn't something so Michael-Bay-esque and over-the-top ridiculous, as well as continuity between games (a la Mass Effect).

    -Sandbox elements that still keep the game relatively linear (This is the COD style), while still allowing you to approach a SP Mission the way you want to.    … Expand

    Maps are too damn big and complex... CoD was famous because his pace was fast, and we didn't have to search for an enemy for a long time... Now the campers are everywhere, the guns insta kills, and eveything is ultra boring.

    So let me get this straight, I got my COD GHOST yesterday and i was excited, but when it was time to install it i was HORRIFIED!!! They wanted me to download 7.5 GB for story mode and then 24.3 GB for Multiplayer!!!!     Just like MW3, Ghosts has proven itself as a horribly failed Call of Duty game. Bringing nothing new to the franchise, it also takes away smooth and stable gameplay of older CoD games to a buggy, unfinished, terribly optimized piece of overrated trash. This 28,5 GBs joke of a game is only good for laughs to the incredibly silly quicktime events.

    Single player was its usual par for the course action through linear maps of connecting hallways. Some people find the multiplayer part of the game absolutely great. Which makes me feel like I haven't tried. Even though I've already put in 100 hours into the game, meanwhile the person who said its great has played for maybe 24 hours who also promptly told me I just suck even though he could only kill me from behind.

    The constantly getting shot from every possible angle. The constant fear of wondering where bullets are going to come from. So you cower down behind a bush and wait for an enemy to run by and you don't feel good about what you did. I would say this game could cause flare ups of PTSD for retired soldiers. A game isn't supposed to do that. A game is supposed to be fun. But congrats on getting the realism right.    … Expand

    Why? It's simple: the developers' blatant disregard for online playability, neglect (or perhaps unwillingness) to ramp up anti-hack measures/ban cheaters, and complete inability to optimize the game for computers of varying capabilities all serve to undermine the integrity of the entire COD franchise.

    First, in online multiplayer on PC, there are hardly ANY players online. The only two game modes you're guaranteed to find matches in are TDM and Domination. What's the point in having all the cool niche game modes if there aren't enough players online using them?

    Okay, so let's look at the cause-effect: why aren't there any players online? It really comes down to two main reasons. The first is that the game is poorly optimized, and is consequently only playable by those with top-tier PCs. "Just decrease the visual settings", you suggest? Ah, if we purchase a game for $60, should we really have to downgrade the quality settings to play it? No. The developers are generating millions of profit at significant margins; why should WE have to compromise game quality when they have the means and resources to optimize the game to ensure playability for a diversity of consumers?

    Fortunately, I have a high-performing PC and do not experience (the majority) of the lag/fps issues that most complain about. Instead, my biggest issue and disappointment is the ridiculous prevalence of hackers. There are AT LEAST 2-3 hackers in almost every single online match. If you take the time to watch killcams of many top-scoring players, a pathetically high number of them are, quite conspicuously, aiming at you through walls/map barriers. Some are even stupid enough to SHOOT you through walls, even regardless of whether you have all stealth perks active or not (i.e. blind eye, incog, off the grid).

    I understand COD is a franchise especially prone to hacking--that's fine, that's to be expected. However, the sheer influx of hackers in COD: Ghosts is just completely sad. Of the 5-6 different COD chapters I've played, this is bar-none the worst for hacking. It is quite evident that IW's anti-hack efforts (if there have been any "efforts", that is) have completely floundered. Until cheaters begin to get caught and banned (which likely won't be for a LONG while), I assuredly will not be playing much. In its current state, the quality of online gameplay is shameful, and yields a considerably frustrating experience for those who want to play fairly and legitimately.    … Expand

    Spend a week fixing your bait-and-switch of a game instead of coding new advertisements trying to trick us into paying you another $60 for your map packs.

    Treyarch gets my money from now on.

(I even have a feeling it's worse than the previous COD) and the game lagged a lot on certain missions which shouldn't be problem at all because I have a decent video card. They might have to start using a different engine if you ask me.

Framerate is capped and FoV is stuck at 65 withought modification. I'd say if you had to buy another shooter and it's between BF4 and Ghosts, choose Ghosts, or even play MW1 or MW2.     I was excited to get this game and play it as I am a huge fan of the COD series. This one was such a disappointment. You die much too fast, there are FPS drops everywhere, and there just seems to be a distinct lack of polish. It is blatantly obvious that this was a straight port, especially in the Extinction game mode. Absolutely horrible.

Players camp all the time and know there is now UAV or SAT to spot them... so expect camper in every window and in every corner. Gunplay is idiotic, weapons have bigger side to side recoil then up/down. CoD even mw3 were quite fun to play cause there was a lot of run&gun jumping etc. Now its more static and i guess players are forced to camp. There are not many weapons to play with, there is no server browserm only dumb p2p matchmaking[ or dedicated matchmaking], CoD Cinema was completely removed so now you cant watch your replays or check if someone was a cheat or he jus had been a pro. For me it looks like a lazy work.
    SinglePlayer- I had some fun but its not as fun as mw trilogy or blackopses and i bought this game for MP.
    Extinction- There are plenty of COOP games for few bucks, this mode is compared to them. Its just boring and pointless.
    In Conclusion- Dont buy this game. Maybe if people stop buying unfinished or just bad game then devs and their publishers will try harded to deliver a proper entartaining product. For now Activision is focused only on and they dont care about players there is no FOV slider in game for pc players-    … Expand

    now lest: squads: well i didnt play it that much but from what i played it isnt that bad, but it isnt as good either and it gets the game 0.5 point so for now we have 1.5/10 but i will give it a 2/10 because i am giving it a 0.5 point on the gameplay that wasnt that bad it was ok compared to bo2. so for conclousin a 2/10 dont buy ghosts unless you will find it with 5$ price which whould probably whouldnt happaned, but bf4 and i am reccomending it even to cod player that think the same as i think on ghosts, i was a cod fan much more than battlefield but with this against the best fps i have ever played (bf4) it doesnt stand a chance, infinty ward once was my favorite dev for cod but with bo2 release last year that was a treyarch game and was the best in the franchise from my opinion, and then a year later the worst cod in the series from my opinion was developed by infinity ward treyarch became my favorite devs for cod, so a 2/10 and even cod fans buy bf4 instead of this crap, i am a huge cod fan and i much enjoyed bf4 than ghosts so i think that even you (cod players) will enjoy bf4 and will preffer it from ghosts.    … Expand

I played MW2 the other day and i found myself having an equal if not a more fun time than i did while playing ghost. The levels are better and the perks are simple and the kill streaks are not over powered (aside from the nuke). If the call of duty franchise went as follows; CoD 4, Mw2, Black ops 2 in the same time span, meaning 4 of these games would not exist and there would be about 2 years between each game. I would not have as fed op with this series if I had TIME to miss the game. There will be parades in the street when BattleFRONT 3 comes out because it will have been like 8 years.     The most terrible game i've played the last 2 decades. Game is stuttering all over the place on both low and high video settings, buggy textures, the most ridiculous guns from which it doesn't even matter where or when or how you shoot. You kill things in 2 hits, if you shoot in the arm, leg, stomach or chest nothing will make any difference.

    The game on PC is utterly abysmal. It runs like garbage for having such incredibly poor texture quality, even with maxing out at the highest of settings. The outrageously high amount of data needed for install boggles me with how poor the game runs. I tried getting my money back but unfortunately, Activision doesn't see things my way... I'm not surprised.

    Technical issues and my lack of enthusiasm for going back to this game mean I am re-reviewing to give a more accurate average score. blue screen of death never went away, might be better if playing with a group, maybe I've had it with high tech modern shooters...

    The guns just didn't keep me interested like they did in BO2. None were really special or great, they're all kind of mid-level. To add on this, there isn't really a reason to stick with your favorite gun since you can just buy all of the attachments instead of actually leveling and prestiging your gun. And you can't get camo for your secondary. But hey, you can access your clan via iPad so that's just a revolutionary step forward.
    I didn't bother with the campaign because I don't care about the campaign. They made the maps bigger to try to compare with BF4. I didn't like this.
    Extinction is like Zombies, and it's fun until you beat it once. After that its just boring.

    Performance issues: While I run every other game I've ever played on the highest settings with no issues, I have to run Ghosts on low-very low on every setting. Anything above that and the game freezes/seizes/fps issues etc.
    I bought BO2 for full price as well, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I put in over 500 hours on the game. I have about 20 hours on Ghosts and I've actually uninstalled it. It's not worth the huge size, and it SURELY is not worth the $60. I have made the decision that I will be switching over to Battlefield next release, and I wish all COD gamers the best.    … Expand

    Nothing good to report for this game. If you never played any CoD game and want to buy it- don't pay more than $5 for it.

    Sliding is better but still not much use, the distance is a bit random and it only really comes into its own if you have perma-sprint on. Gimic.

    I use sound to detect other players, in fact I'm all about hearing you coming towards me but I can't do that in this game. The stereo is not good, I cannot easily work out direction or sometimes the floor the player is on. 3D stereo is not a recent development so this is quite a big fail by the developers.

    Also the musical cues in the Multiplayer are far too loud, so loud in fact that you cannot hear gunshots. Losing a streak because you missed a footstep while big dramatic music was playing is quite frustrating. This could be an easy fix too, an off button, but no the sound is completely locked down.

    Dogs are fun but I seem to get one of two and it's random which one I get. Dog 1 is an utter spaz and gets shot really fast. Dog 2 is a mentallist who kills anything and everything. I like Dog 2, I would like the ability to shoot Dog 1 myself to save our collective embarassment.

    On the positive side, much shotgun fun is there to be had if your twitch is up. Close range hits above the waist are fatal from the hip and I spend a lot of time being called a "pump noob" by players at the bottom of the table.

    All in all I've had my money's worth, but it feels like a patch, not a new game.    … Expand

    Epic failure on all proportions. Never will I buy another POS COD game. I have almost all of them. The hack jobs have made this game completely worthless to me. Activision I hope you see all these comments and know that you will not con people on your next BS game. And 6gb Ram is BS.

    Havent played CoD since CoD2 and Im not going be buying anoter. Single player is both boring and short (I completed the game in less than 7hrs),, and multiplayer.... where to start on that I wonder? How about the retarded amount of people that cheat and use hacks? To the point where there is no point in playing multiplayer unless you cheat as well.     Nothing extremely outgoing on new to the series, and the PC servers are yet a gain not as great as the console ones but still yet a fun game. Multiplayer is fast and fun, Extinction is a great zombies alternative and The campaign is cinematic and fast. If you enjoyed previous games in the series you will enjou Ghosts.

I have been Call of Duty fan since it first came out in 2003, it was kind of sad to see the newest editions are just stupid. Not to mention this game has horrible graphics (compared to the last one) and the lack of video options. This has burned me on Activision for the last time. $60 for a game that has horrible graphics stutter, insane lag compensation, NO ANTI-CHEAT, and random crashes. On top of that, they are already marketing buying their expansion IN GAME, not even in the least bit concerned with the user outcry. It might be that on a console, but this game is far from a 10 on a PC. It's more of a 1. If you have to have the game wait until it's in the 5.99 bin.. even then it's too much.

    Love the game. enjoying the story. sure it may seem lame to uneducated people and those with no souls, but for those of us that actually love our country and the thought of survival even when knocked to the lowest place on earth. I for one enjoyed. haven't tried the multiplayer, but that's not why i bought this game.
