    + great "borderlands" look and game play (aside from the problems below)
    + new characters seem fun initially.
    - Lack of vertical split screen?? and the horizontal is a disaster - tiny font, lag, ridiculously wide perspective on widescreen tv.
    - It's nearly unplayable with crashing problems, freezes, glitches.

    Would not have purchased with horizontal split only.

    I really want to love this game. Borderlands 2 was a awesome ride till the end but this game keeps me from getting into it.

    After playing for about 4 hours i'm a level 7 Siren. The way to get there was a awfull experience. No... I don't mean the gameplay… It's the huge amount of bugs this games has on the PC (Can't Judge for console). In these 4 hours I played I already crashed 7 times    I really want to love this game. Borderlands 2 was a awesome ride till the end but this game keeps me from getting into it.

    After playing for about 4 hours i'm a level 7 Siren. The way to get there was a awfull experience. No... I don't mean the gameplay… It's the huge amount of bugs this games has on the PC (Can't Judge for console). In these 4 hours I played I already crashed 7 times to desktop, lost my sound for 50% (Still had music but no guns,talk or other effects), I lost screen resolution on crashes and had to set it to 1080P and then back to my own resolution to fix it. And I was stupid enough to try DX12 instead of DX11. After that I wasn't able to launch the game anymore. Took me at least 10 minutes to find the solution and fix this in a config file.

    For the gameplay is seems like a nice game. It plays smooth and it really feels like borderlands. If I could play this strait without crashes and weird errors I would have give this game a solid 8 for the 4 hours I played. Now I need to give it a 4 till we can finally play it like we should.    … Expand

    Literally only a 1 because my game will boot but with the absolute choppiness of the game and the fact that every support team for this game will not reply to emails I literally was ripped off for $60 I LITERALLY MADE AN ACCOUNT FOR METACRITIC BECAUSE OF HOW BAD THIS GAME AND SITUATION IS

    Expensive game with more bugs and well more bugs. We have no place to even discuss our issues and have to go use steam borderlands 2 forum for discussing the issues , This is really sad.

    I think they lost the spirit of the borderlands series. I've lost this "liberty" feeling I had when walking around the BL2 map. Now every map is an hallway. You just press W or Z, depends on your keyboard, left mouse click. Do not even think about "exploration" everything is thought as if it was an hallway. No more "hidden boss" everything is shown on your map. No need to farm forI think they lost the spirit of the borderlands series.     At it's current state the game is unplayable for me, too much lag, constantly crashes even on a good rig. a total disappointment to borderlands 2.

    At least, in cooperative, while talking to your friends about random subjects it's much easier to disregard the factors that make this game boredom, as it feels like it becomes a secondary. You tend to focus more on these during single-player.

    Too buggy and laggy. Way too much frustration to play it in this state. If you, like me, want more Borderlands 2 with new missions and guns - you can have your share of fun with Borderlands 3. But I still highly recommend to wait a few months till major issues will be fixed so you can really enjoy this game.

    Game crashes on launch because of how broken the launcher is, what you mean releasing it on epic store exclusive for the best experience, all i had is a terrible experience.

    - epic exclusivity the worst current launcher.
    - the editor manipulated the reporters to have a good rating on metacritic by giving access only to some chosen compliant journalists.
    - the game is so terrible, an alpha version must have less bug and better performance than this release. you can lost 10h of play due to stupid bug. there is no optimization, performance are so poor.

    RUN AWAY !!!

    Lag, bugs, boring half-assed storyline and jokes that fall flat. Not what is expected of a “AAA” game. Gearbox, don’t you have a QA department? Maybe you should function check your product before taking people’s money. Never buying another Gearbox game.

    The story is great but the one thing that I hate is the **** performance honestly your game is **** unplayable with a sli rtf 2080ti and i9 9990K with 64GB of ram doesn't help with me not getting above 100fps and getting extreme stutter of low 1% of 15fps **** 15FPS fix your **** game

    This game his huge total mess, crashes,bugs, glitches and many more stuff, the story is not good compared to the first 2 games. I dont recommend this game wait until they fix everything and buy it on sale cause this is not worth 60€/$ and the Critics made by top critics were most likely payed or they re friends cause of the high score they gave to this terrible game.

    Game runs like crap on 1050ti even on low/crash to desktop . Did refund, -refund declined-. Did chargeback to get my money back. epic account was banned but nothing value was lost, at last I get my money back

    This game has very cool looking characters. Everything else is outdated to say the least. Mediocre graphic, same gameplay that was 7 years ago, very bad jokes. But it is a question of taste. What makes me mad is the technical condition this game was released. It is just unaceptible. 5000 signs is not enought to describe all of the gliches and technical flaws this game has

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. As of this review I've beaten the campaign 3 times on normal and 1 time on tvhm with over 150 hours of play time. This game at launch was a 7/10. The campaign is okay. 2 really cringey characters ( Ava and Vaughn) that made me despise the game and wish I could skip cutscene (yeah that's not a thing). Post launch has been a nightmare. This game has 2 major flaws. 1. Major performance issues with the echo. 2 a game that says they have a billion guns but you can only keep 50 of those guns in the bank. Neither issues is being addresses by the incompetent team working on the game. Instead they nerf drop rates, nerf items, nerf characters, and nerf fun. The first event week was a joke. Overall the game was fun but has been completely ruined by the dev's lack of understanding what a pve looter is.… Expand

I am running the latest hardware and refuse to play past the 1st mission due to the stuttering. I can't comment on the story because I haven't been able to get into it. Hopefully they patch this but it's been buggy since launch with no fix so I am not hopeful. Developers needLet me start by saying that I love Borderlands.     When I heard that this game was on epic games I immediately opened 10 accoutns and bought 10 copies of this game. To me it is very very important how much money goes to the publisher. the 12/88 split is really really really important to me.     Borderlands was a great game with very weak plotline.
    Borderlands-2 was a good plotlined game with very bad technical implementation
    Borderlands-3 have a bad plotline, technical implementation... almost everything.

    not only it's bugged as hell, it's spiced with Denuvo™ issues over it.

    at this moment it's not worth to be played even for free, not talking about to spent money on it.

    game runs sweet on my system ...couple of frame-drops at the beginning but you soon realise that this is borderlands 2.5 ....its just content ...not a what i wanted at all ...if you are a fan boy you will love this ....but im not so i dont love this .

    What does this part bring? A lot of additional gameplay. Parkour, mechanics with machine guns, all this is wonderful, this is what was missing in 2 parts. There are no questions about this. But here is the story .. Prove it. The main villains - mannequins, compared to the handsome Jack from bl2 - are horror, the old heroes are not revealed, and the storyline itself is ****

    There is no real end game its basicly making ur character OP so u can farm bosses fast. and wait a few days so gearbox will nerf the build and u can make a new build again.....     Critics either played a different game or were paid off to give those scores. no way in hell this game deserves more than a 5 or 6.
    Epic store excusivity sours an otherwise good launch, aside from missing bank items, broken cloud saves, lost progress.

    Story sucked, missing plot holes, worst antagonists ever... gearbox you failed hard on this one. Enjoy my money.

My wife and I have only 2 trophies left to get the platinum but guess what?the cistern of slaughter is glitched and we cannot do anything until the fools at gearbox pull their heads outBroken game.     My key criticism of this game is it in a sense "plays itself". Your choices are to a good degree made for you from the get go and worse still, its skill tree, is an overly complex mess I simply found confusing.     Combat was bad too with opponents who all seemed to be expert shots inflicting massive damage and horrible weapons that seemed to take forever to reload.

    On the upside its pretty but its play ability is very very limited. My advice take a look at "The Outer Worlds" instead.

    Barely started playing BL3, then a bug doesn't let me keep playing. "Watch monitor" says the journey, but there's nothing at the monitor. Result: I'm stuck at the very beginning of the game, GREAT.

    The story was boring, and the Twins made me quit the game multiple times out of me just getting uber annoyed.. The new movement takes away    Gearbox Software as a whole are not a great company, But Borderlands was supposed to be their masterpiece. I personally do not enjoy Borderlands much at all, but i can definitely see the talent and the appeal in the earlier games.. But not this one.

    The story was boring, and the Twins made me quit the game multiple times out of me just getting uber annoyed.. The new movement takes away more than it adds, because while it is smooth, its being forced into a typical Borderlands landscape. Its awkward and clunky, and the feel of the weapons is worse than the previous games. I really tried to give this game a chance but it was just.. Not good. Gearbox needs to restructure their company. Nothing they have done has been notable or great. They destroyed Halo CE, made the 2 most embarrasing Half Life games to ever exist, and people still treat them as if they are the messiah of gaming..

    Plus its an epic exclusive. Why? Epic Games is a garbage comapny and no one should support them in any way.    … Expand

    Just couple things that are really annoying. First is MANDOTORY EXTRA LONG TUTORIAL multiplied by 4. So 4hours just to see whom you want to play as. And another issue is claptrap, he's too stupid to have any entertainment value.

    I had played the game for a while but then i got a sound bug where no matter where i am, or if im fighting or not, every 10-15 seconds i heard the sound of a enemy sniper shooting at me, but there is no sniper, its just bugged, like the whole game itself.

    Characters. Terrible new ones and unchanged old ones. Protagonist plays NO PART IN THE STORY, according to cutscenes. Story. Ever thought about Handsome Jack? Yeah, we screwed him up and made 2 modern kids.    I wanted just about the same "Borderlands" it was before THIS.
    It's a typical, not unique looter shooter with hundreds of spits at the face of any fan of this once great franchise.
    Characters. Terrible new ones and unchanged old ones. Protagonist plays NO PART IN THE STORY, according to cutscenes.
    Story. Ever thought about Handsome Jack? Yeah, we screwed him up and made 2 modern kids. Enjoy our "efforts".
    Graphics. Yeah, it's improved, but not really. Yet, minimal requirements get you nowhere, but 30 fps tops.
    Gameplay. Gearbox actually bothered to work on it. Pleasant UI, sliding, climbing, slam (hello, pre-sequel). Bosses are fun to fight against.
    Sound. It's great too. Bosses have their own unique soundtracks as well as we still get that Pandora-like ambience. Weapons make noises too, and not bad.
    Events. Honestly, I expected more. Not only the developer follows "the cult of season pass (DLC)", they actually try to make you GRIND. On the same map. With same objectives.
    Exclusivity. This is the biggest failure of Gearbox, along with EGS. You guys are trying to separate the world of gamers. You openly lie to us. Just because you don't like the cut taken by the shop, CUSTOMERS have to suffer.

    Overall: the disgusting product of lies and greed from Randy Pitchford, doing his best following EGS to separate players, to make people upset. More than that, a fishy game of questionable quality, created without actually listening to the fan base.

    Since launch i've had countless hours of fun with no issues what so ever, leveled all 4 characters to level 53 and was eagerly awaiting the new DLC.
    Now with recent news, i won't be    Always been a huge fan of the series, so i instantly pre-ordered as the game was supported on the service i was using, i've even bought the DLC and was awaiting the next DLC which was recently announced.
    Since launch i've had countless hours of fun with no issues what so ever, leveled all 4 characters to level 53 and was eagerly awaiting the new DLC.

    Now with recent news, i won't be able to play this game anymore: i won't be able to fix a vending machine with a human spine, make or ruin a little girls birthday memorial, and i won't be able to see Hammerlock and Wainright declare their love for each other.

    Story
    The story is S**T The people that made this game lacked love for the Borderlands series, and it shows through their portrayal of the characters in the series that we had grown to love. ELLIE and TANNIS take center stage in this game for no discernible reason other than the fact the developers could not develop the original crew further or make fun, new personalities. DID YOU KNOW THAT ELLIE IS FAT, SOUTHERN AND IS SEXUALLY ATTRACTED TO EVERYONE? No? Well here is a **** innuendo tied to her every breath. Did you know Ava is annoying brat that no one in the world could ever care about due to her Unlikable personality and COMPLETE lack of depth? No? Well here she is in every cut scene ever made. Even Lilith was reduced to a bland quest vendor. The incredible writing for the Tales from the Borderlands characters left everyone excited for their presence in Bl3. Rhys and Vaughn were reduced to their most basic, and displayed none of the charisma or charm they were born with. But hey, at least Scooter isn't alive to see it.
    The Calypso Twins started to become likeable after Tyrene gifts you a gun for killing yourself, and the twins talk to each other like real people on the ECHO comms. However, by that time, Troy was about to die, and Tyrene would no longer have the chance to develop herself.
    They did well in some regards, including BALEX and his girlfriend. A shame they didn't have a lot of screens time, but with what they had they displayed chemistry and great humour. That skillful writing did not translate anywhere else in the game. General Traunt was also a breath of fresh air, a character that didn't take himself too seriously.
    Gun play
    The BL team did really well with the gun play. The step from BL2 to BL3 is ginormous and is worthy of praise. Certain elements of guns made them a delight to use.
    If I had to critique the gun play, it would be that the guns weight felt the same, whether it be recoil or sway it never went beyond the usual parameters. In order to give the weapons unique personalities, they should have explored more avenues, such as more detailed gun smoke, engravings, sound changes, weight and different variations of reloading. Particle effects needed to turned way down, bout to have a seizure.
    Loot
    Looting in this game was very rewarding. Too rewarding. A legendary item for farting it seems. They are called legendarily for a reason, so why is the game handing them out so freely? Legendarily in this game spawn more frequently than purples in BL2. This takes away the thrill of getting lucky with an orange. By the way you can buy legendarily from vendor machines for 3000 bucks at level 30? Its like they didn't even play their own game.
    Enemies
    Complete. **** Let's give Troy some giant orbs or something idk. Merge Tyrene with a generic OOD from Doctor Who IDGAF. So boring to fight and even more depressing is that the whole game leads up to these so called 'peaks'. Enemies you fight are generic, the psychos are less psychotic and few remember able sentences. And they all talk so damn much you've heard it all by chapter 10.
    Levelling
    I was always 4 levels or so behind the enemies and they were decimated. No challenge, no need to level up and come back, no need to find stronger guns they just melt in your presence. Their guns are too weak and you are too strong. The times I felt a challenge were few and far between. To draw a comparison to BL2, when I was even one level behind I felt the struggle. Which then forced me to either adapt my current play style or do side missions to level up and get better loot. In this game, you run and gun like an unstoppable jugg, which made for a mindless sprint through the battles.
    Cut scenes
    AK THU. Disgusting. Revolting. After deleting all life within a 10-mile radius of the objective, the Twins still manage to get their way. Not the sneaky tactic Handsome Jack used to kill Roland, no they walk up and do their business. And where are you? You turn into a ghost that was wiped from everyones memory. Lilith loses her powers in the most pathetic of ways. Maya dies in the most pathetic way imaginable. Tannis is kidnapped in the most lazy way possible. And you, the player, are powerless to stop them. You don't matter in this story line, until it comes time for the Twins to die. Having no bearing on the game until the end is so mind-numbingly boring and making playing it a complete slog fest.

    Given that it is re-treading old path but with the same gameplay, it should be good for old fans. But really not truly innovative. Lackluster characters and story, more FPS than RPG and bugs and glitches reported in the typical gearbox manner,

    It is better to give this a pass first until it is improved.

The menu and visuals are nearly the same to that of Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel. And with no major improvement graphically speaking the game plays worse performance wise. This makes no sense....
    5. The missions are boring. Yes they are legit boring with many of the quest giving characters acting similar to each other and the objectives being similar. 6. Behaviour of developer and publisher alike has been very anti consumer. They recently went on a banning spree towards players who "misgendered" FL4K as a "he" or "him". Yes you heard correctly. For some reason these people hate references to the male gender and their idealogy seeped through into the game. Game needed more QA and less identity politics with bad ŠJW cringy writing. ŠJWs can't write jokes. Actually when playing this game the writing and even the bad AI gave me Wolfenstein: Youngblood vibes.    … Expand

    1. Soundtrack is 1000x better than previous games.
    2. The world is 1000x more beautiful than previous games.
    3. Gameplay and gunplay is 1000x better than previous games.
    4. Gun variety actually matters because they are actually unique and do different things.
    5. Story and dialogue and UI is the controversial part.
    6. I didn't encounter any bugs.

That the end boss is ridiculously easy to beat is just the icing on the cake of bad game design here.

    Only redeeming element is Ice-T, but doesn't save this mess of a game.

    Liked Borderlands 1, but this series has lost its heart a long time ago. BL is in desperate need of a reboot...    … Expand

    I enjoyed the first two, but this one is just a cringe-fest... Awful characters and awful humour (I can't really make myself calling the dialogue in the game humour - just cringy, cheesy and juvenile overworking of not funny jokes). Gameplay itself is sort of decent, but diarrhoea of loot becomes really annoying really fast. I haven't even finished it and to be fair don't even want to,I enjoyed the first two, but this one is just a cringe-fest...     Since Steam allows censoreship with Reviews im gonna leave that here.

    The Gameplay is ok but the dlcs are overpriced.
    Bl2 had way better dlcs and 2 extra characters, here you get some washed down dlcs + 0 characters for the double price

    yuck and adding a second season pass for 30€ with content that could have redeemed the Foundation of the Game but nah better sell it to the cashcows

I respected Gearbox for telling an engaging story that made sense, with a villian that can be considered one of the best in all of gaming. To go from that to the entitled, insufferable, ****ty Hot Topic employee wannabe brats is actually impressive in its incompetence. Oh, but how can we forget the equally entitled, unworthy, insufferable, disrespectful, undignified little **** that pops up half way through the game and gets everyone she cares about killed. Only to be rewarded with God-like power and undue respect from broken, striped down, disrespected characters we have grown with and loved? I'm utterly impressed with the absolute heel turn Borderlands 3 is from Borderlands 2. I didn't know it was possible to screw things up that badly. My only hope is that the people in charge of these absolute braindead decisions at Gearbox reads every one of these 0 to 1 star reviews so they can feel a fraction of the disappointment they have bequeathed to their fandom with what can only be adequately described as Satan's **** of a game. Fire whoever was responsible for this waste of space in my gaming library and go back to respecting your story and your fans. Or you can sit in a circle with J.J. Abrams and Rian Johnson with your fingers in your ears so you can't hear how you took a media Titan and crumbled it into what is akin to a steaming pile of dog vomit.… Expand

Можно было взять все миссии которые заканчиваются боссами и прицепить к ним матчмейкинг. сделать ежедневки/еженедельки с повышенной сложностью или новыми противниками.     I loved Borderland 1 and 2, so I should also love 3. But there is something in this game that feels just not right.

    I am a long time fan of Borderlands, since I saw the Game Informer cover story back in 2007. I played hours on end both alone and with friends in every entry in the series and it was almost always a hit with everyone I played it with. I was there at PAX East 2019 when Gearbox had their big presentation to announce the game, and did nice things like show Battleborn fan art and have cosplayers come up on stage. I should have suspected something when they conspicuously failed to announce what store the game would be available from.

    Borderlands 3 is a lot of fun, but I cannot in good conscience tell you to pay money for it. The why is a number of things that are varying degrees of heinous. The first, of course, is because of the Epic store and their shady exclusivity deals, which more then once have been used to bait-and-switch customers and kickstarter backers. I've been playing Epic games all my life and the skeezy, CCP-money backed Epic Games of today resembles nothing of the company that once developed and published titles like Unreal Tournament, Jazz Jackrabbit and Tyrian 2000. They don't even resemble the company that developed Gears of War. If the issue had been that alone, however, I would have simply waited out the year and then whatever time it would take for BL3 to be severely discounted on Steam. But there is more.

    Anyone familiar with Gearbox has a lot to say about them, not all of it productive: How much of a "disappointment" Duke Nukem Forever was, how "bad" Battleborn was. **** of course, though their treatment of Duke since has not been stellar, and Troy Baker's statement about their refusal to participate in unions, and so on. The real issue is their grandstanding CEO, Randy Pitchford. Even if I had enjoyed some of Randy's past antics and stage magic tricks, his persistently bizarre public behavior and repeated allegations leveled against him of things like possession of child porn, siphoning 12 million bucks from the company and even assaulting Claptrap's original VA, David Eddings on top of denying him pay, are rather difficult to gloss over. It's difficult to say what's true and what isn't. But you combine that with the Epic business and publisher 2K Games' less then stellar track record, such as supposedly sending private investigators to a Youtuber's house for "breaking our policies, leaking confidential information about our product, and infringing our copyrights", they said, and you get a pretty ugly picture overall. By the time of this writing i'm sure tens, if not hundreds of thousands of people ignored all of this and gleefully shelled out the full asking price for BL3, maybe even from the Epic Store, but I will not. If you people keep paying money to get shafted, they will keep doing it.

    Instead, I suggest you pick up a used copy of the game for consoles or find, shall we say, alternative means of acquiring BL3, because beneath the executive **** price model, crashes, unlikable villains and flat jokes is a mechanical evolution of the series that I'm sure, for at least some of the people who did real work at Gearbox, is something they wanted to be proud of. Hopefully they got the pay they deserved for it, but I don't think Randy, 2K Games, Tim Sweeny or Xi Jinpeng for that matter deserve one red cent of your money for this or anything else anymore.

    The game offers a number of quality of life improvements, like the ability to fast travel from any location instead of specific warp points, a feature that really ought to have been in the series from the first. Driving controls were much improved as well, with a better sense of weight and physics. Movement is improved, the mantling mechanic is a great addition. There are number of outstanding issues attributable to its origins as a console game, such as there still being only four weapon slots, but I guess things like that are never going to change. Like I said at the beginning, minor issues in the scope of things. The game generally runs well, with smooth framerate and reasonable load times, though I did occasionally encounter game-crashing fatal errors.

    I wanted to tell people to buy Borderlands 3, but I can't. Still, if you have the opportunity to play it, whether or not you've played the previous games, it is a pretty good time. That is why I am giving it a Four and not a big fat Zero. I even tried to leave a Steam review after the free week and was not able to. There is a reasonable explanation for why that is, but it doesn't look right regardless.    … Expand

    I have two words about the third Borderlands game...... "Cash grab" !.... Even after i got Season pass now they crated Second season pass.... After the disaster the Craig Dlc was.... i dont feel i will pay anymore money for Borderlands content not even gona purchase 4th installment !

    I had to turn the graphics down significantly to get the game to run relatively smoothly and I have a new computer with 32 gigs of RAM and top graphics card. The game is the same engine and the story is worse than borderlands 2 and bland. The guns are not as interesting and the missions gets repetitive quickly. For some reason they took out achievements.     Gearbox has a problem: the fantastic Borderlands 2 is too good to be beaten. But in the case of Borderlands 3, it is still more than a worthy successor. The filmmakers brought many pop-cultural references, maybe pushing too hard on how they want to be “modern”, but otherwise it's a great game again. [Issue#298]

    Borderlands 3 offers a generous experience, with colourful characters, neat gameplay and a charming universe. Its formula, very close to that of the previous episodes does not revolutionize the show but its small new features bring a little freshness and the scenario makes us want to go to the end of the adventure. Its dynamism and nervousness make it a choice piece for adrenaline-ready FPS lovers and license fans.
