This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This does contain spoilers folks. I got the game at it's midnight release, and the ONLY REASON it has a 9 in place of the 10 was the campaign took all of about 10-11 hours (that was with me milling through everything) and once you're done, you're done. (Unless you're up for the more difficult 1999 mode) So let's get into the game, from the moment you land in the church, the music was (In my opinion) mastered to the place. You get that feeling of a child when he's first taken to an amusement park, my eyes were lit up when you step out of the church doors and that wonderful view of Colombia in the skyline. Going through the game, shooting was great, considering this IS NOT A FULL BLOWN SHOOTER, you cannot expect it to be like one and still have all the other mechanics. My favorite thing? The connection with Elizabeth, (I was personally hoping they'd fall in love, BAD IDEA considering the end) but the connection they have established was phenomenal, definitely one that is seldom experienced. When you go to rescue her a second time, you only want to inflict as much pain as possible once you see the first chair and hear her screaming, the blood on the floor and all the tools to leave to your imagination what was happening to her, and when you do save her, and you pull that giant needle out of her spine, I personally was tearing up a bit. Overall, easily the best game I've ever played. Story has great twists, and I have concluded that hell hath no fury like an un-siphoned Elizabeth. Semper Fidelis everyone! Expand

Bioshock Infinite is a beautiful game that is able to pack so much information into a small amount of time. The game based in 1912 which is a time that many people forget about because it is an era that is overlooked by the "Roaring 20s" followed by the Great Depression. Infinite shows the concepts of the hatred of immigrants and the most obvious racism towards the Irish, Welsh, and all colored people. The hated group are on Columbia strictly for labor work and there is even stock for the immigrants that are lazy or refuse to work show throughout the game. Colored workers are also shown how they are afraid of the "white man" in two instances I remember when the colored worker apologizes to the non-racist Booker for smoking and a worker cursing the "white man" for his work and immediately when he acknowledged Booker he asks if he needs anything. The game shows the blinded patriotism towards the founding fathers who are considered Gods and do not recognize the bad sides of the fathers in Columbia. When playing this game I URGE YOU NOT TO RECOGNIZE THIS AS A SEQUEL TO EITHER OF THE BIOSHOCKS. Although Bioshock 1 is the makers of this game and hardly any of the creators worked on Bioshock 2. This game is hardly a sequel but a completely different game. However the game captures the key elements I consider the Bioshock franchise to be.
    1. A place made to be a utopia which collapses to be a dystopia with many people in denial.
    2. plasmids(vigors)
    3. No cutscenes and the story comes together via in games material

Though Infinite contains my characteristics to be considered a Bioshock game, the game lacks a certain eeriness the other games contains (maybe because it is not underwater and the sun is out) there is much more gun play and less plasmid(vigor) use in the game and it feels like it is much more spamming of weapons and scrounging for ammo than the past games. The use of shields is something that I disliked and the fact that whenever you are low Elizabeth magically gives you what you need. I may be biased but I feel like this game would have succeed much more to me if it was apart from the game series and became its own game and title. The game is amazing but doesn't have the elements to me that the other Bioshock game had to me as a player. That is why I am giving the game a 9 instead of a perfect 10. However this game is a great game and if you are a gamer who enjoys a good story line without simply bulldozing through it. It is a must play. If you only like shooting and couldn't care less about story go back to Call Of Duty or something you don't deserve to be called a gamer if you only play one game........

tl;dr.... Game is exceptional however only contains the basic core elements I consider in a Bioshock game. Which is the reason for the 9 and not a 10.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I could write a review on 2 pages, but I'm going to try to keep it short.

    Visuals, art style, music:
As we all know, amazing. I don't need to praise that any more.

    Story:
People don't seem to like the ending, but I do. It's something else, unusual for games and it's very interesting how everything plays out. I didn't see it coming again, and I think it's great. Otherwise the characterization is great, we start to like both Booker and Elizabeth, both have their ups and downs. And here's the most important thing about the story it's told like it should be in-games. Not with cutscenes, but with either scripted, but still interactive sequences or by looking through the environment, exploring, and of course talking with eachother. I hope more games follow this thing that Half Life started 15 years ago and almost completely ditch the cutscenes.

    Gameplay and pacing:
Here's where the game is not as shining but that doesn't mean it sucks in this department. The pacing starts out great with you exploring, but then out of nowhere it throws you into a massive fight. Gunplay on general is again not as polished as I would've wished and this bugs me. The game design is also a bit broken with the whole vigor thing seems like they only included it to be as Bioshock 1 or to have more options, while you don't really have to use them. They should have introduced some kind of enemies that are a bit more challenging and where you actually have to use that which leads me to the special types of enemies. First one is the automated patriot, and it's a pretty easy enemy. Nothing to get upset about, it's just an almost still target that is almost a no-threat to you. The second one is handyman, who is a bullet sponge and overpowered, so it's not really fun to fight against him (you only fight him what, 5 times anyway). The last one is the siren, but he's rare as well and he just send an army of "zombies" at you. Nothing great like Big Daddies from the first one, sadly.
Then there is the constant fetch quest mechanics that makes me think I didn't do anything special in the game. You go to some place, and you have to find someone on the other side of the town, then he lost something and you need to go back to get that, then you need to find and open three tears, etc... It just doesn't feel like you're on adventure but instead feels mundane and boring.
This kinda redeems itself towards the end with huge fights where you use the skyline, Elizabeth's powers and more, where you have to jump around like crazy around the skylines onto the cepelin and then back onto the skyline. It's fun and I wish they included more sequences like that, much much better than just shooting waves of soldiers in a hallway. I'm also disappointed that there were no real bosses and that you don't fight Songbird.

So is it a good game? Yes. Is it as good as everyone is praising it to be? Nah. It's a very good, much better than most FPS games coming out (maybe because they're all stupid modern military shooters with no imagination?), and it's definitely worth a purchase.

By lazy, I don't mean that he and his company didn't work hard at all, I'm sure they did in many regards, but overall the product they chose to create was not original in the least. Despite what you'll read in all of these other super glowing reviews, Infinite is a cop out because it basically just takes bioshock and puts it in the sky but with none of the things that made that game phenominal. The story... Bioshock was about a city underneath the ocean but that was at least somewhat believable. You might be able to believe in that, but a city floating in the clouds? My first gut reaction to that was the same one I'm having now despite the fact that I convinced myself otherwise. I told myself that I probably would like it just as much as bioshock 1 even though its setting is beyond stupid but I was wrong. The game is just not believable. There are several plot holes and inconsistencies that ruin the experience. Here's one example. Booker notes early on that the skyhooks must be magnetized and that's why he jolts over to them and connects to them with ease and never falls to his death as would really be the case. That's great... Here's the problem... He then jumps off of the magnetic rails easy as pie over and over again against the very same force that supposedly is powerful enough to lift him up 20 feet for the initial connection. There are more logic defiers in the game, but we're supposed to forget about that, right? Because the story is so good... Except it's not. The story is just terrible. It feels lame someone made an imitation game of bioshock and just made it in the clouds intsead of under the sea, and it fails just as it sounds like it would. I just can't by any of the characters that I'm supposed to care about. Comstock is a lame version of Andrew Ryan who is not believable. The leader of the rebels against his city is equally lame and has a "forced" feeling to her, as if the decision was made to put this certain character in here to relate to a target audience but instead she just feels entirely fake. And Elizabeth... I knew all along that a permanent NPC tagging along the entire game would ruin it and she does. She never shuts up and she gets in the way when you're trying to run somewhere. I don't care if she has hundreds of lines of dialogue because she points out obvious crap and I don't care about her. I feel like I want infinite to be about me and my exciting adventure in the floating city, but instead it's about this annoying character's feelings all the way through. Her behavior is disgustingly predictable. First she likes you, then she goes through an omg I hate you phase, and spazes out and knocks your character out (because you're too stupid to handle yourself even though you're capable of slaughtering 500 enemies...) I'm about 50% to 75% of the way through the game but I seriously have no interest in continuing. Why should I? The story will obviously be a let down and it's playing out like a bad action movie. There are no amazing villains like Andrew Ryan or Fontaine, or Shodan. No. Instead you're supposed to fear and respect an old dude with a beard. Oh and he's a racist. Wow, let's just hit all of the stereotypical bad guy traits on the checklist. So yeah, if he's that generic and he's supposed to be the antagonist, yawn-o-rama. Mr. Levin, you SHOULD have made this game in the future in the same vein as system shock 2. I was irritated when you did the whole bioshock back in time crap to begin with but I learned to like it because you made the story worthwhile. That's not the case with this Weird.... Thing.... *sighs* Infinite brings down the original bioshock just by carrying on its name and crushing the potential a true sequel could have realized. This thing is just an easy copy paste of bioshock with a much weaker generic story in the sky instead of under the water. It's not believable, it's not interesting, scary or heart wrenching, it's just boring. And that is the worst sin a game can commit. Please don't make another bioshock game set before 2000 AD Seriously... Enough with this old timer music and bizarre fetishism for the 1900s 1950s. It's not that appealing. Expand

The story is an absolute masterpiece. The characters are believable, and it's hard not to feel sympathetic with both the protagonist and Elizabeth.
I loved how the story just slowly ramps up in the beginning, time ticking along, and then as you get further into the game, and deeper into the story, it just picks up pace, until in the end it all just comes together and crashes down on you.

The ending left me shedding a tear, and I would be surprised if I were the only one!
I can't help but wonder if choices during the game might have made for a different outcome...?
I suppose only another play-through will tell!

There are problems that I have with the game, like the lack of a manual save and a shallow side quest system, but all that is negligible when compared to the towering successes of this marvelous game. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The atmosphere of this game is just stunning, the graphics, music, voices and so on just perfectly fit together. I've never been bored for a single second playing this game and you definitely have to fall in love with Elizabeth.

There's really only very little to criticise, the gameplay overall is fantastic. The only thing I would change is the weapons system since you can't really focus on your favorite weapons because you need to change your weapons pretty often. That's because you either run out of ammo for your weapon or because you need to adapt your weapons to the tougher enemies.

The story is very complex, maybe too complex for some people. Yes there remain unanswered questions after the ending and there's room for interpretations and it doesn't have a classic hollywood happy ending but that's one reason why Bioshock infinite ist outstanding. And in fact the game does reveal all important secrets about Booker/Comstock and Elizabeth/Anna, where they come from and what their motivations are. But I have to admit that I did like the Bioshock 1 and 2 endings a little more.

However there is no such thing as a perfect game but Bioshock Infinite is as close as you can get, that's why I gave this game a score of 10.

Lastly, while beautifully realized, the world of Columbia just isn’t as interesting or as “real” as Rapture from the previous Bioshock games.

If I had to give this game a number rating, it would be a 7.5. This is not a bad game by any means, but I don't have fully positive things to say about it. Starting with the presentation, this game is nothing short of breathtaking at times. Many small models are very low poly, however the textures and colors do more than enough to make up for that minor complaint. At times I did however encounter draw distance problems when playing on all ultra settings which broke the immersion, but they were more prominently noticeable in the beginning of the game because there was no combat. This game created a new aesthetic very different than Bioshock 1 & 2 with a colorful and vibrant world that exceeds many unreal engine titles. It works very well with the tone of the game, but it would have been nice to see some more improvements for the PC version in the graphics department. The gameplay is where I start to have mixed feelings. This is not a challenging games in the sense that dying has any impact on you, as it just makes you run through an area again. The challenge lies more in how you choose to play. When it comes to the actual combat, it is hard to describe. Many weapons feel satisfying to use, however there are times when cheesing your way through an area seems to be more efficient than exploiting all resources at your disposal. I played on medium for a quarter of the game and then switched to hard which did not seem to solve this problem at all. When comparing the way I played prior Bioshock games with the combat in Infinite, I used almost all the plasmids to their full effect, and not just for their designated area. But in Infinite, I barely had any need to use any vigors other than possession. I believe this can be boiled down to the fact that you may only have 2 active vigors at a time which require you to pause the game and open a radial menu which stops the flow of combat and ultimately does not translate well into a PC game, rather than having them all available using F1 and so on in Bioshock 1. That was also a clunky system, but it did not slow down the game. The lack of saves and quick saves can also be a fairly major problem. At many times, I skipped a tip screen which was telling me something important because I was using the F key to loot containers. There is no delay between showing the tip and then continuing the game. This then requires you to restart at last checkpoint if you want to read it again (The game menu that can be opened with O is not helpful for displaying any information and is largely pointless) and the checkpoint can be in excess of 10 minutes or more back, and it does not save any of the items you collected up to that point. The amount of backtracking that is required is also poorly implemented. If you want to find new gear or stat upgrades, you must backtrack very far, sometimes 3-4 areas back. Since there is no map, and the only way you know where you're going is by using the navigation display by pressing N (which is only for finding the next objective) it can be harrowing trying to find these special locations again. I ended up just skipping many of them because they were not a deciding factor in anything that happened. More gameplay problems exist later on such as a lack of enemy variety and encounters and it usually becomes the same formula each time. Overall, I believe the earlier Bioshock games tackled combat encounters in a better way, however the way combat "felt" in Infinite was better. The story is another area that I did not feel very positive about. Without spoiling anything, the beginning is slow but interesting to the point where you want to get more of an understanding about Elizabeth, while the middle is EXTREMELY flat and lack luster and does not satisfy any earlier curiosities. The ending is where the game really shines, but it feels like everything that you were expecting to see in the middle of the game is at the end. While the ending was well thought out, it did not make up for the entire middle portion of the game which was nearly 60 to 70% of the content. I felt extremely bored during many missions in the middle and just wanted to learn more about the power Elizabeth wields. Instead, you're left with a pretty boring attempt at trying to create emotion between other characters, but none of them are memorable other than Elizabeth. There is obviously more to be said to fully explain my feelings about this game, but they require much more information and knowledge with prior games to get the point across. This is definitely a game that will be looked back at positively, but the fact that is being coined as an "unforgettable experience" is a vast overstatement. Good? Yes. Problems? Yes. A truly unique and inspiring game? Not so much. Expand

I have played many good games, but none of them have been as astonishing as BioShock Infinite was. The first seconds of the game already give away everything about it, they show how deeply philosophical that game is. These first seconds and minutes in the game made me feel like I was watching a classical movie by Fellini, Kubrick or Tarkovsky, and this feeling only grew to the middle of the game. I was absolutely astonished as I heard Mozart's Requiem as background music on one oft the game locations... honestly, how often do you hear classial music in a FPS?!

The content is not delivered straight in your hands you have to think about over all the information you notice; and the longer you think, the better you understand the game and the deeper the game seems. Nothing is explained, and you are free to go around and explore to find out what the hell is going on in that city. I spent half of the time on my first playthrough just taking screenshots; I was literally feeling like a tourist in a foreign city, with my jaw dropped. Every wall has something written on it, every note in this game has a meaning to it and somehow reflects Columbia's history or current events, or reveals Booker's or Elizabeth's story.

Elizabeth's AI is godlike, too. While I scavenged around she usually helped me but not always; sometimes she just leaned herself on a back of a chair or a wall, sometimes she was just adminring a beautiful view.

I feel like everyone should experience this game... it's just amazingly gorgeus and rich with content. Period.

The sound in the game was one of my favorite aspects. I don't know why Levine chose some of the songs that he did, but it made me EXTREMELY happy to hear one of them in particular. Elizabeth converses with you while you are walking from one point to another and it's NOT useless prattle, but actual conversation that progresses the story. I liked how the tapes (Virophones) pause if you engage in conversation or if something that was more important starts up, because the tapes in Bioshock did not do that.

Controls The first time I used the sky hook was scary!!!! But two seconds later I remember shouting to my roommates how awesome it was. It has a seamless combination with FPS combat as well, giving many combat scenarios much more meat to them.

The story has really set me to thinking. If there is one thing I can say, play the first Bioshock, please. You really get the full impact of the story if you play with first game before finishing Infinite. I want so badly to talk about the progression of Booker, and how mind blowing the end feels, but spoiler free review says you will have to play the game.

I had really high hopes for this game, and though it was a short game (I finished it with 100% completion in 9-ish hours) I feel it has more than met those expectations. It was everything I hold the Bioshock series to and more. 10/10

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Well i can't deny that the story from beginning to end was quite intriguing and nearly brilliant. i use the term brilliant as it caused quite some confusion halfway trough when the first inter-dimensional travel happened. It felt...Forced. First you are in the relatively normal world and suddenly your in the dimension where the Rebellion was already full underway. if the transition was less sudden it would have helped, but alas. There were also the loose ends here and there.
    ..
Game-play wise. it was poor. The details were great but the game-play felt simplified. the world lacked the depth and freedom of the former Bioshock games. The enemies where rather bland (they were fodder. 1 shot to the head with a pistol and done most of the time!) and the few "special" enemies were spread out thin. you encounter the Handy-men a few times trough out the game (they were miniature bosses) and the Boys of silence you encounter in only one level and have no single importance. The Vigor system (tough nicely thought up) wasn't needed most the time and i still have yet to hear where they came from unlike their plasmid counterpart that was properly explained.
    ..
Its a good game, but in the end im afraid the over focus on the story has left the game-play slightly lacking. I did like the Luteces tough. added a little bit of silliness here and there which was surely needed.

It may not be the game you'll play over and over like Team Fortress 2 or an Elder Scrolls game, but BioShock Infinite will still linger in your head after completion because the storytelling is just that good. Ken Levine, you know how to write a damn good story. Feel good about that. It could be a very long time until another game with this good of writing comes along again. It doesn't have the moral directions that Levine's BioShock 1 had, or what Jordan Thomas' BioShock 2 had (which wasn't AS good as BS1 or Infinite, but still a great game). I also found the game to be a bit short, but that's okay, because it might have felt like it dragged on a bit if it was longer, you never know. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I got this game free with a new AMD card I bought in January but I will try to review it as if I had paid full price for it.... First off, some people have said that the graphics look dated well then it must be their PCs that are dated because with everything on Ultra it looks pretty amazing to me! As for the game itself, if you liked Bioshock 1+2 then you might have to consider that this is pretty much disjointed in comparison and is pretty much a different "license" as the story and gameplay doesn't fit in with its predecessors............One stand out feature for me is the audio. The soundtrack and the ambient sounds are second to none and I found myself giggling at some of the "remade" tracks, especially the Cyndi Lauper song at the beach (sorry for the spoiler). Being a child of the 70s/80s helps with some of the references during the course of the game.......Overall, I don't think the game is earth shattering, but the storyline and thought processes that have gone into this game will likely render it as a major Game of the Year contender commercially, and amongst gamers. I can't give it 10/10 as there are a few niggles with the AI here and there, but it's a definate and solid 9/10 in my books Expand

It tells you a story that doesn't seem to make much sense, at first but becomes more and more clear as you near the conclusion (which is a good thing). The gameplay never felt stale with 8 different vigors and an impressive arsenal of firearms. Elizabeth is an NPC companion that is actually very useful which is very rare in games lately (need I remind anybody of Sheva from RE5 or Ashley from RE4?). The only two MINOR problems I do have with this game that keep it from utter perfection is: No new game mode and you can only have two guns equipped. The problem with only having two guns at a time is all the guns are amazing and having to chose which two you want, at times, can be a very difficult choice to make. I really don't understand why are people so overwhelmed by this game. Next thing is horrible collision zones, at first it was not a big deal but it became more and more annoying. Also difficulty is pretty low i cannot even imagine how easier the game could get on lower difficulties. Story and characters are mix up of several clichés with several ups and downs and for once finally useful sidekick on the contrary enemy AI is quite poor and you will see big number of enemies stucked in some obstacle. There is also that unpleasant fact that this game embrace only checkpoint saves. So not being a fanboy nor hater i have to say Bioshock Infinite is pretty average game with tremendous hype, I'm glad i got my copy free because otherwise i would be really really angry at myself for wasting money. P.S. for all the people that say Bioshock is best rated FPS in history just check Half Life 2 and see for yourself Expand

Never has a game world been crafted so magnificently, and so memorably; it's everything you expected and a whole lot more. While the setting of the game is in a fictive sky-city, it's historical roots are presented with great fidelity and you'll feel like you've gone back in time to 1912.

The production values are out of this world; for example, you'll find yourself wanting to stay on the menu screen for an unnaturally long time because it is so beautiful. Infinite is not afraid to take a very critical look at some of the less savory aspects of American culture, like racism, sexism, etc., something that very few mainstream video games even begin to address.

Other games, such as To the Moon and Thirty Flights of Loving, have also managed to tell emotional and powerful narratives, albeit for a tiny fraction of the resources that were undoubtedly spent making Infinite. However, just because Infinite is a AAA title is no reason to write it off. In fact, it's validation that even video games made with lots of money can dare to be good, and dare to be different, than every other Call of Duty and Battlefield and Halo game out there.

Infinite addresses heady themes and issues within its narrative, something that just doesn't exist in most other mainstream video games, and that's what makes this game so important. Play BioShock Infinite, because it's more than just a "game". It's more than just about getting the next killstreak. It's not afraid to go outside the confines of the generic conventions of the FPS shooter, and tell an interactive story that's practically impossible to experience in any other medium. BioShock Infinite is, quite simply put, unlike anything else.

Bioshock: Infinite starts off slow, but gradually builds suspense and finely touches up on the story as you progress. The action-combat system may remind you of a rehashed version of the original Bioshock, however this doesn't mean it's a bad thing. A lot of us who have played the previous Bioshock games have probably enjoyed the combat system in its time. Thus, being the reason why I'm deducting one point, since the combat seemed a bit old-school and wasn't my main point of interest in the game. Second, the game play is linear, although, this wasn't much of a problem for me since I was so caught up in the immersive universe they have created. The story, was utterly amazing, I can't tell you how much I fell in love with the game by how detailed and caring they took with each character's personal structure. Elizabeth, is almost perfect, however, at time's she seems quite monotone with her actions, disregarding some emotion that could have been implemented during certain conflicts in the storyline. I personally feel as if they could have improvised and added a bit more dialog between Brook and Elizabeth, but overall, they did an excellent job. When the story wraps everything up in the end, I had such a strong emotional connection between the two. I could not of thought of anything better, they nailed it!! Playing through the game was pretty fun, it's very unique, and has such a diverse aspect the average "Triple A Title" that it's worth playing through again. I'd have to say, this must have been the best game I've played in a long time. I fell in love with the game, I was skeptical at first, but after playing the entire game, I've become obsessed with it. If I had a few nit-picks I'd say that the console graphics are weak and the game sometimes tries too hard to be deep, but because the levels were huge and the story succeeds in its depth (I had a little existential crisis), I'll give those flaws a major pass. From the posters and newspapers, to radio broadcasts and NPC conversations, Infinite really make the world feel real. I felt like I was presenting an E3 demo for the first few hours, as a walked around slowly taking in every bit of atmosphere. Gameplay wise, I'd give it a solid 8.5/10. Its not revolutionary, but there are quite a few things that freshen it up, including impeccable pacing, and the wide open aerial sequences. Last, but certainly not least, it story. Story is the reason this game is such a masterpiece. It's aided greatly by the game world, as you'll hear NPCs having interesting conversations, and the environments themselves are constructed in a way that the player begins to ask questions. As in the original Bioshock you pick up recordings, which fleshes out the story even further. Elizabeth herself however is the greatest attraction. I felt as if she came out of a Disney movie, with an expressive face, flawless animations, and a curiosity that can clearly be seen. By the end of the game you really do care for her, which is a hard thing to do in a video game. In conclusion, the game really is perfection. Stop reading this and go buy it. Now. It will take you on a journey that few games can come close to.

That being said, the rest of the game is pretty bad compared to Bioshock 1 and is absolutely wiped out by SS2. There are three different variations on a machine gun and three different variants on a grenade launcher alone. I actually feel like I'm playing Halo in the sky with this one move from one wide-open area with obvious cover and spawning generic enemies to kill, then move to the next and repeat. Oh, and don't forget Elizabeth, who you either have to comfort every ten minutes or who throws you health and ammo like nobody's business because god forbid there's a little bit of challenge. Not to mention the needlessly complicated time travel 2deep4u plot with, guess what, a twist halfway through the game! The game is absolutely beautiful, yes it may lack the graphical power of games such as Crysis 3 but the world of Columbia looks absolutely amazing from an artistic point of view, the gameplay is solid but so far seems slightly too easy on medium difficulty I will be trying out 1999 mode on my 2nd playthrough.)

The story in the game is one of the best I've seen in a while and I've barley scratched the surface of it, so far despite not much happening I am completely captivated by it. I also found the relationship between Booker and Elizabeth to be believable thanks to the amazing voice acting supplied by Troy Baker and Courtnee Draper.

Speaking of Elizabeth, never before have I cared for a gaming character, but thanks to the amazing talent behind her (AI, Motion Capture, Voice, Model, Script etc...) I think I might actually care for the character. I don't know why but when I (Potential Spoilers) first killed a group of men in front of her and I saw that she was scared of me because of that I kind of felt bad because she'd gone from being really happy and ecstatic to scared and cold. (Spoilers End)

I could keep writing about this game for a while, but I kind of want to get back to playing it, if you are unsure on whether to buy this game or not, I strongly recommend buying this full price, it's utterly amazing and almost (In my eyes at least) faultless.

It's good to see that this console generation is ending on a high note with games such as this and Tomb Raider and hopefully more to come.

Absolutely unebelievable. The graphics/pacing/story/voice acting... its like you're in your own little world. I've never felt such wonder and awe before when it comes to a video game. And like several of the reviews said.. .there is no way a movie could have given you this feeling.

While this game does have big shoes to fill, I honestly think it fills them perfectly well. The graphics are absolutely amazing, the story is beautifully acted, and the plot is extremely intriguing. If you liked Bioshock 1 and/or 2 I extremely recommend buying this game!

Bioshock Infinite is hands down the greatest campaign I have ever played. Beautiful graphics, the best combat I have ever experienced in an FPS, and characters that you really really care about.

Why are people hating on this game? Bioshock Infinite is amazing, ignore the trolls who just want to put this game down; they have no clue what they are on about. The storyline, the game play, the graphics, and the world of Columbia just make this game unique and memorable than any other game I have played. If you think the original Bioshock was good, then your gonna absolutely love this one. You play the way you want to; use whatever vigors (basically plasmids) you want to use whenever you like, use any weapon (better variety this time over the other bioshocks). Its a fresh start for the bioshock series again and my god have they pulled it off. Going on those skylines makes you feel your actually on a roller coaster and the fact that the devs have put that much effort into the game to make you feel as if you are Booker is absolutely amazing. The amount of effort the art team went to is astonishing as they have put so much detail even in the smallest places. Just like the other two bioshocks before the voice acting is superb, the animations are so fluid and again astonishingly good. The AI i must say are pretty good as they can give you a good challenge since they find ways to get to you even if you are trying to get cover. Combat on the skylines is refreshing and exhilarating, its just so new and fun to just play around with. I could go on and on about how good this game is, but you just need to pick this game up and see what everybody is talking about. This game is truly a masterpiece. Its a sort of experience you rarely ever get in any kind of game, characters like Elizabeth have been made with such care that you connect to them on an emotional level, you just keep learning more and more about Columbia and all the characters and this is what keeps you engaged throughout this epic story. Its much more open, because of this you are able to explore many more areas within the game, and the additional side quests have been cleverly integrated within the game so it inst annoying because of how nothing is forced, you just go along with it. If only this kind of effort was put into every game. This kind of effort is what pleases gamers on any platform. Buy this game, it will be the best investment of 2013. Expand

Played this for about 3 hours, thoroughly enjoying it. The graphics compliment the setting, making it particularly immersive (especially with the Christian imagery throughout the opening, adds some extra 'flavour' to it). If you're expecting the creepy, eerie atmosphere of Bioshock you may be disappointed although it is somewhat eerie, the dark setting of the original is lacking in this game, but this wasn't a big issue for me. A major issue I had regards the controls and interface only being able to carry 2 weapons felt restrictive, and the keyboard setup (Z is the default to ADS, for example) felt a bit awkward, but this is resolvable. Overall a cinematic experience with a few minor issues, but an exciting, colourful game nonetheless. Expand

This game is absolutely stunning... In a time where I thought I was simply getting bored of video games, it revived my hope by showing me what a real game is. Truly captivating story, and cartoon-ish graphics that are timeless and give a remarkable atmosphere. It mixes in anticipation, along with unknown and mystery of what might be coming next. My favorite game of the past 5 years.

Absolutely stunning piece of artwork, it shows that single player games are in fact alive and well. Irrational has yet to make a bad game in my opinion.

Gameplay hours ran me about 6 hours in total. In terms of gameplay itself the only unique thing about it was the skyline which was fun to use. The rest of the game itself just didn't feel that great. Looking out in the distance and looking at the view and the world that they created was awesome. One thing to expect is repetitive gameplay. You will find all the missions to be the same. You will be running from map to map running and gunning. There were no unique quests. Even after finishing I felt as if it was extremely liner and have no desire to return to this game. The only thing this game has for it was its super awesome voice acting and its stunning visuals. The skyline added a very unique system but it was a bit disappointing. All in all I gotta rate this game a 6.5/10. Due to the weird plot twists, uninteresting enemies, repetitive gameplay. If this game would improve its maps. Making everything more like its original. This game would easily make my top of the list. It all came down to its average gameplay and linear story. The game was incredibly easy. I toned it up to hard and still found my self sprinting through the game. Expand

Play BSI slowly, relish the moments and don’t rush to the end. It’s certain that you will have lived one of the richest gaming experiences that, as far as narration, lyricism and story are concerned, will take a lot of time to forget! [May 2013]

A very solid, but not revolutionary shooter in an amazing setting, with a story that struggles to convey its authors’ ambitions and is only seemingly complex. The vision is less focused than in previous Bioshocks and it does a worse job on binding the plot with gameplay. [CD-Action 05/2013, p.46]

Problematic plotting and excessive amounts of poorly balanced combat apply friction to what is otherwise one hell of a rollercoaster. [May 2013, p.80]
