    This is garbage - I wouldn't' play it even it's FREE

    I am a rabid fan of BF series and has played though BF1942/2/3/4/Vietnam/1, but I cannot believe DICE made this absolute garbage of a game. It is evident that there is no COHERENT DESIGN in this game. It is NOT WW2. IT HAS NO SOUL. the stories are junk. Multiplayer is no fun. they just re skinned BF1 and even Blatantly recycled map    This is garbage - I wouldn't' play it even it's FREE

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game takes "fast paced" gameplay to an unenjoyable level. Dying so quickly works when respawning is also quick, like Call of Duty. But this game compacts too many elements into not large enough maps.

    Some minor campaign spoilers here.
    The single player campaign? It would've been better just to not have one, than to use the disgusting revisionist versions that were implemented. An entire Norwegian commando team was effectively written out of their own mission, replaced by a "mom and daughter" team that embarked on the mission in ways that don't make sense for reasons that don't make sense at all.

    It also portrays the French as having segregated black soldiers and treated them as less. In actuality, Germans at times would kill all the blacks of captured squads, and there were white French commanders that died for defending their black soldiers. As well some white commanders were killed simply for having black soldiers in their command. This campaign effectively writes ALL of that out of history and portrays the French as just as racist as America was at the time. Revising history to make blacks or women look bad, or taking them out completely and giving credit for accomplishments to someone else simply for their race or gender should NOT be acceptable to any race, white or black, etc, or any gender, man or woman.

    The inclusion of some levels of historical accuracy, enough to know which missions and groups were being portrayed in accordance with the actual WWII, but leaving out and rewriting things to obviously fit an agenda, is just absolutely disgusting to those who did participate in and help out in the war effort.

    Definitely do not buy this game if you haven't already and you respect those who fought in that war. Because this game disrespects them to a great degree, and disrespects history itself, simply to fit the agenda of the game makers. Quite sad.    … Expand

WHAT THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN SMOKIN DICE ? This make the pace of the games horrible as people respawn from everywhere, you take a point the ennemy team respawns behind you but it's ok you can respawn instantly on your squad and so they can like...

    If this wasn't the BF franchise I might have gone easier on it and given it a 5, but this is a franchise that I've loved since the first game, and to see them ruin it more and more by every itteration since BF3 has earned them no leeway. Japan, the US, France, Russia, and Italy forces are not in the game. The weapon selection for the most part sucks and is extremely limited.     Battlefield, unlike its competitor Call of Duty, has always been different is the reliability and realism, and now we are presented with a toy shooter with painted characters. Sucked out of the finger conveyor nonsense that has nothing to do with world War II. And there is a assumption that after the release of Battlefield 5 fans of the franchise sharply diminished.

    A terrible game, don't waste your money on it. Such a shame, I've been a fan of this franchise since BF1942, but moneygrabbers EA just ruined another franchise. I never ever thought I would say this, but Call of Duty actually surpassed Battlefield

Now we came (again) to a glitch and bugfest of exorbitant proportions, some 8 poors maps and ridiculous set of weapons and vehicles with content promises that won't come just like in Battlefront and BF1.EA achieved only one thing. Less and lesser content for every BF they put out. BF1942 was a milestone in the genre with a huge mapset and vehicels and later on over a 1000 mods to explore. Now we came (again) to a glitch and bugfest of exorbitant proportions, some 8 poors maps and ridiculous set of weapons and vehicles with content promises that won't come just like in Battlefront and BF1.     I would give this game a 4-score rating for the beautiful graphics, great gun-play, free dlc and toning down on the SJW stuff at the last second. But due to the horrible customer support and launching of this unfinished game with live service is just downright taking a piss on its customers.     I would give this game a 4-score rating for the beautiful graphics, great gun-play, free dlc and toning down on the SJW stuff at the last second. But due to the horrible customer support and launching of this unfinished game with live service is just downright taking a piss on its customers.

    As of right now, about 1 month after the release (out of its 3-4 different release dates, wtf?), the game is in an unplayable state at best with hundreds of game-breaking glitches. Even after an 18 GB patch just the other day, not much was really fixed, but instead added yet more glitches.

    The customer support is absolutely horrendous and the representatives of EA I talked to couldn't give a rats ass about the games current state nor willing to issue refunds because of their policies that even goes directly against the Consumer Rights Act of 2015.

    They've introduced a new subscription-based model to play their latest games with pretty much everything included for a monthly/yearly fee, which sounds great on paper until they're not able to give refunds on a subscription-based model.    … Expand

Well its true. there are only 3/4 maps worth playing the rest are **** COD fests - BORING linear gameplay where you just run around shooting the same ppl with the same guns and then for 4 minutes at the end of the match everyone gets V1 rockets --- woo hoo> not!

    Its such a poorly executed **** show it almost seems impossible. Its soo broken in sooo many ways
    reddit / battlefield tracking all the rediculous flaws. I couldn't believe that they couldn't actually get a working tank gunner before release! The gun dosent' move with the player! WTF!

    The graphics are improved from BF1 but ONLY MARGINALLY with some nice snow / rain effects, but its RUINED by massively overdone BLOOM where most of the game - ESPECIALLY ARRAS looks **** Retarded. - IMMERSION BREAKER!

    time to kill is exactly like a COD turd game, where you die in like half a second, lending to a gameplay style where there is NO CHANCE to utilise half the gameplay elements like medic packs and ammo. whats the point if you just respawn with all that stuff every 30 seconds! COD is **** for good reason . the ppl playing and buying CODS are . usually brain dead morons - no BF is trying to replicate that! WTF WTF!

    Also the server browser is a PIECE OF **** FFS why can't you get that right???? its the simplest **** part of playing a multiplayer game ... see which servers are avaliable / how many are playing then choose the best ping... But NO they managed to **** that up royally but breaking the filter mechanic and not letting you see what servers are actually avaliable. .. gone are the days of joining an empty server to test stuff out... In fact, its actually painful to play this game. You will often find yourself angry and in disbelief as to how a studio that made BF4 and BF3, made this garbage.
    The time to death is insanely low, you will die too often within one frame without getting any time to react. The game encourages camping because its very hard to see players that don't move. No 3D spotting except for snipers with spotting scope - who rarely use them to help the team. DICE is forcing teamwork on players but most randoms don't care about teamwork or voip chat at all. Those who do will only point out the enemy who killed them so that you can seek revenge on his behalf.
    Medics don't heal and support won't supply ammo because they get very few points (10) for doing that. Medic weapons are nerf guns only good for CQC maps and the revive animation will get you killed so revives are rare. It seems DICE achieved the exact opposite of the teamwork they intended. The gunplay is good when you get the drop on the enemy player but most of the time its who sees who first.
    You get needlessly stuck on certain terrain in maps which shows that they were not properly tested. You catch on fire if you stand next to fire in certain areas as if you dunked in gasolene before the battle for some reason. You get 'killed in action' if something like a barrel next to you explodes. You get insta-killed too many times as soon as you spawn. This stuff happens just too often for the game to be any fun.
    Planes - especially bombers - were OP at launch and then got huge nerfs in the patch to point that they are now useless. Tanks have no choice but to camp far from positions where they could get insta-rekt by assault players. The attrition system has also not encouraged teamwork - instead everyone camps the supply points because they know their teammates might not support. Besides, supply points replenish ammo fully compared to a supply crate from a support player which only gives you one gadget and starts the cooldown clock.
    Zerging is the only alternative to camping in this game because of all the issues mentioned above. Its as though DICE devs never play their own games and keep coming up with new idiotic ideas. In BF1 it was behemoths and hero kits. Here it is the attrition system, removal of spotting, broken revives, smaller squads, buggy maps and terrain, useless vehicles to name a few.
    The terrible UI and server browser where you still cant see the progress of a game before joining; so you join to find the game is over and most players have left. I could go on and on about this game but DICE has a history of bad launches and eventually fixing the issues over several months. But by then the price has dropped to $10 and most serious players have moved on.
    This game is bad, really bad. If you paid full price, you have only yourself to blame, given the history of DICE and EA. I am thinking I till wait till it goes down to $5 - which is probably very soon. But then no one will be playing the game. Very disappointing. Like watching an alcoholic friend self-destruct. You hope they will reform but they never do and keep self-destructing until the tragic end which actually seems merciful somehow.    … Expand

This game is as annoying as it gets, has little to offer besides laughable bugs, and is also being changed randomly by DICE, especially in terms of the recent TTK change, which nobody quite understands.     No effort here to deliver a finished product with quality content

    The sound design is awful, like Quake 2 era bad. No satisfying reports, no sound of booming in the distance, no rumble of tanks in the distance. If a car is over the hill you'll never know because its engine doesn't make noise until you're standing next to it.

    Everything is washed out and overexposed. It feels like your soldier has eye damage.

    The menus are annoying and uncommunicative, and things are often buried several clicks deep, even simple things like changing your gun. Squad change is still hidden in the escape menu, and loadout change requires a click to another screen when you die.

    Managing your inventory is even more annoying and unintuitive than BF1. Changing sites on a gun requires many clicks, and the default sites are not good. The default guns are also basically crap (again, unless you're a sniper, the class this game was made to feed). Your starting loadout will leave you massively disadvantaged against established players.

    This game feels designed to make the majority of players feed fun to a small but vocal minority of players, split between campers and COD twitch tweakers.

    I would not recommend this game to anyone, and am only glad that I got it for 50% off. This will be the last EA game I buy. It's sad, but the Battlefield series is dead.

    Please note that the petulant gripes from crybabies about "historical accuracy" or "sjws" or whatever are nonsense. Magic syringe shots that cure bullet wounds aren't historically accurate and those idiots never complained about that, they're just insecure sexists.     Very bad game. On servers play one sniper. Changed the story. No USSR.
    Why it was impossible to remove the class sniper? Or remove such damage from rifles? But developers don't care. And, unfortunately, I can not get a refund for the game. = (

    When I wanted to go into another match it took very long to load, wasting my time, so I left it to load overnight and when I woke up it was still loading.

    This game is pathetic. Inaccurate. The graphics are nice but can't get me over the fact that the story missions just play with every single stereotype in the book. It tries too hard to be politically correct. Result great for the so called critics but it is just pathetic. No score

    Was expecting another bf1 hit, got call of duty. There is no distinguishable difference between the 3 other classes that aren't the sniper class. All automatic rifles, all run and gun, all can revive, all have at weapons. Can't change weapon attachments mid game. Each class has 4 weapons. ever. looks ok but you'll stop playing before completing a single game due to lack of content.Was expecting another bf1 hit, got call of duty. Origin, which is easily the worst launcher/DRM client in the industry, may be the culprit, but what difference does it make? Origin has, somehow, gotten incrementally worse over time. It feels like a homebrew java app now, and runs worse.

    If you can properly align your decoder ring long enough get BFV running, it's an uninspired, paint-by-numbers WWII shooter. In other words, it's boring.

    EA has taken some undeserved flak over the years. They've earned a ton, too, but some was just a pile-on.

    They deserve every ounce of it for this game. BFV is a low point for a publisher who has had too many of them in recent years.    … Expand

    Once new patch comes, they change everything about game experience(weapons, ttk, balance, graphic, game mode etc...)

    A word war two that doesnt even feel that way , the game is boring and repetitve , maps are beautifull but they are poorley designed and get bland after some time . One of the worst battlefield games released , had more fun in hardline lol . Gameplay wise its just a reskin of battlefield 1 they didnt even change some of the icons lol .

    This game has some of the least interactive game-play I've ever encountered in my 16 years of gaming. Positively terrible. An obnoxious and irrelevant addition to the Battlefield franchise. Potentially the worst piece of crap that Dice has ever produced. It's so bad, it actually drove me to write a review for the first time.

    It’s far from being ideal but all the glitches and shortcomings don’t ruin the overall fun of Battlefield V’s multiplayer experience. Although the single player portion of the game is not bad at all, I would have been disappointed if I bought the game just for it. [13/2018, p.56]

    In Battlefield V we got back to WW2, but with refined gunplay and death system which works great. There are also little problems such as low number of maps and stability issues, that are taking the fun away, but nothing that can't be fixed.

    A great World War II shooter that will grow and improve. Do not buy the game because of its singleplayer, but if you consider the campaign a bonus to the multiplayer, you will be satisfied. [Issue#291]
