    Have been a Battlefield Fan since BF1942 and i own all the games, 1942, Vietnam, 2142, BF2, BC (Xbox), BC2, BF3, BF4, BF:Hardline and BF1.. I have played Battlefield every week of my life and have been a true fan.. I knew from Battlefield 1 that the franchise was moving in the wrong direction. I have played Battlefield every week of my life and have been a true fan.. I knew from Battlefield 1 that the franchise was moving in the wrong direction. The reason Battlefield was so good previously was it had depth and as time went on it had a high skill curve. You had to learn the maps you needed to learn the weapons and know how to overcome each situation. It had tense moments, where you were walking through a town in BF2 with your squad and you heard footsteps on the otherside of the building, you would take position and try your best to keep each other alive. The game was exciting and exhilarating.. The Graphics where terrible but the game play was fun and felt like you were actually a soldier on the battlefield. Fans bought the game because of the gameplay and lots of COD fans started turning away from that franchise because it was repetition with the same engine with no skill level.. COD killed the skilled FPS genre. My last favourite COD game was MW2 and after that it just felt like a reskin and was boring. Battlefield 1 was the start of the "Lets be like COD" mentality, Lets reduce the skill level so far down that kids can play it. Then in Battlefield they notice R6:Siege are doing well so they start pinching the Alpha pack idea from that see if EA can get on the band wagon of making money. What EA have forgot is why people are buying skins and putting their money into R6:Siege.. Is Because its a skilled shooter with enjoyable gameplay. Its the gameplay that is key, EA's moto is Make it look shiny and grab the cash, they have forgot what making games is all about.. I Pre-Ordered Battlefield 5 and when i seen the reviews come out it sort of put me off and then my friend paid £10 for a trial of Origin Premier and played the single player campaign and played the multiplayer to death, beforer me and I had paid £70 i decided to cancel my pre order. I then went a purchased Hitman 2 (Which i love) I went and played on my Friends Origin Premier before it ran out and tried Battlefield 5.. and so glad i did and got a better game for my money.. From a true hardcore Battlefield Fan, i can sadly say BATTLEFIELD IS DEAD R.I.P !!!… Expand

    This is by far the worst BF title I ever experienced, and I have now completely abandoned this series. It's insulting to see this kind of poor excuse of a release. Forget realism, forget gp, this is just an insult to all fans & consumers, and a racist one at that.

    To be fair the game is OK. Lots of bugs still, but the game works fairly well.
    EA just doesn't do anything about cheaters so the multiplayer games tend to have one team winning because ´few cheaters end up with KD's of 50/1 and people leave.

    DO NOT BUY ANY EA BATTLEFIELD GAMES

    So many fundamental FPS features are missing or butchered, things that used to be in older Battlefield games. The remaining experience is warped to chase after COD and CS playerbases (and later, Battle Royale I'm sure). Battlefield has lost its identity, leaving it a broken and awkward mess.

    If you are searching for a game without a soul you are in the right place. Maps design is awful and every map looks like a running simulator. A lot of game mode are bad because the map design has 0 sense. UI and HUD are terrible and not user friendly, Plus we have a lot of bugs and is cleary an unfinished product. You get bored after few rounds in each map. WW2 without nazi and iconicIf you are searching for a game without a soul you are in the right place.     Too many women at war... fake history.... no atmosphere... To many snipers. No good rewards if you play as a team-player, no one cares about reviving you. A big 0 for not even trying to make something great. Don't BUY!

    I've got about 20 hours into this game (PC) and I've come to the conclusion that it is TERRIBLE. I cannot even describe how many crap decisions DICE made with this game.

    From maps being boring and linear; to hearing women screaming all the time (nothing says WWII like shrieking women on the front lines!); to HAND GRENADES damaging PATHETIC worthless paper Tanks; to INVINCIBLE bombers    I've got about 20 hours into this game (PC) and I've come to the conclusion that it is TERRIBLE. I cannot even describe how many crap decisions DICE made with this game.

    From maps being boring and linear; to hearing women screaming all the time (nothing says WWII like shrieking women on the front lines!); to HAND GRENADES damaging PATHETIC worthless paper Tanks; to INVINCIBLE bombers that have thousands of hit points and who's tail gunner has about twice as powerful of a gun than the CANNON on FIGHTER planes.

    The bugs; the de-sync; the ridiculous balance of weapons; ground vehicles being worthless and there just for background scenery.

    This is NOT a BF game. This is a large map CoD. It's a shame we've gone from games like BFBC2, to BF3, to trash like this.    … Expand

    It is not for the feminist issue, the game still feels like a beta after a year of release. (I played the alpha to) It has no auto - balance and many times you enter a completely empty server.

    I pre buy a $90 game for every dlc and some bonus objects. They add "Elite Skins" and the cheapest is $5.

    BF5 has to easily be the most boring game I have ever played in my life. The multiplayer has absolutely no depth to it. Every single match is 100% exactly the same as the last one.     There are 20938423094820948209384092348092348209348029842390 other games like this out there that do what this game does but much much much better. Even FPSs made in the 90s have more depth to them then this abomination. There are P2W mobile games out there with more depth.
    I was so bored it actually felt like my ability for my brain to brain was leaving. I was playing with friends or I would have quit after the aforementioned 10 minutes. I resorted to just driving around in a car and trying to run people over because the actual gun-shooting gameplay in this is severely boring. I actually had fun doing that, but of course the game is based around the boring gunplay so I obviously wasn't effective at all.

    It also has the same stupid level-up system that has infected so many FPSs recently. It's stupid. You are useless for the first part of your multiplayer experience until you grind a lot. That's ungodly awfully boring and amazingly stupid gameplay design. It was a stupid mechanic when Call of Duty first did it, and it is stupid now. Game devs need to make that mechanic a forgotten relic of the past and quickly.

    I eventually just opened manga on my other monitor and read it to keep from falling asleep while playing this with friends. It was that boring. I literally had more fun staying dead and just watching my friends play than I did trying to play it myself. Honestly, when I log into Discord to play with them and see that they are playing this game, I might just log right out. This game is THAT boring.

    In summary, I got this game for free yet I still feel like I spent too much on it. I'd pay maybe $5 for it because that feels like the amount of depth present in this game.

    If Battlefield 2042 is even 1% like this game, I'm just gonna say in advance that you should just skip that one too.    … Expand

    What an absolute **** I bought it when it was 50% off and thought I was getting my money's worth. I should have listened to the users here and not the "critics" There is absolutely no redeeming quality in this game's multiplayer. Quake 3 had 100 times better netcode in 2000 than this pile of **** in 2018. How did dice fall so low?

    Game was released an unfinished piece of **** and yet somehow still managed to regress from that state. At least the losers at DICE LA is breaking new grounds at how bad you can be at your job.

Holly F ... really ? a female .. you base your story on the heavy water sabotasj ... and you botch the whole story ... but in a women as a war hero that never existed to save her mother .. instead of just recreating the many herroric missions resistance fighter have been doing here ... this is a direct offence to our local heros her because EA wants to play SJW ... no no no dont support garbage like that

    Its boring, unfun, with poor performance, ive no idea why I should prefer this over bf1 or bf4. Not to mention the SJW bs with "dont like it dont buy it" controversy... dice wants to rewrite history about how blacks and disabled whamen with bionical arms won the ww2. disgraceful.

    An average game that doesn't deliver on the ww2 theme. More importantly every game is full of cheaters with aimbots. And there is no way to deal with them..
    Bf5 was truly ,a frustrating experience for me.

    There are good things about the game in comparison con previous versions. For example, destruction and bullet penetration is fine. I'm also OK with attrition even though I have no friends and I would much rather play as lone wolf. But I would be able to stand that if it weren't for the complete lack of spotting and insta kills.

    Multiplayer is fun, but not worth the full asking price,

    Business behind the pre-order deals and the play early versions are something that shouldnt be praised in this industry.
    Paying more for playing the game a few days early is a dirty move EA. The game is done when its done so everybody should be able to experience it.

    I've never played a game so bad and problematic, graphics that have been downgraded, even playing in 4k in the ultra, compared to battlefield 1, Much inferior in all respects, it seems to have been produced in a hurry, the weapon customizations are horrible compared to the previous BF HUD is a failure. Everything in this game is a failure. The WOKEfield West story strikes again, it's disappointing

    As far as the changes to multiplayer go, the attrition system is just an awul design decision and completely ruins the ability of someone to play alone in a squad of random players. Don't have any real life friends who play battlefield? Tough tiddies then, the game will hang you out to dry.

    The fortification system is like a building simulator for 5 year olds. The most boring part of a battlefield game in 16 years of the series. AIn't no one gonna be doing that DICE who has even the slightest interest in an actual "first person shooter" hint; the clue is in the name "shooter".

    The enemy players are almost completely invisible unless you have bionic eyes, and especially once you start shooting at then or they start shooting at you. There are no "feels" in the gameplay whatsoever when you can't make out a target and as such the core gameplay feels completely soulless. It's a complete camp-fest with no one able to move anywhere and the person who just snaps first due to lack of patience (or boredom) and dares to walk somewhere into the open gets inst-killed by someone laid prone 5 miles away. What great gameplay. /s Gone are the tactical map layouts with interesting lanes and cover. Let me guess..... I'm supposed to be fortifying, right? Yeah, you can keep that boring crap.

    The audio, which is normally a trademark of DICE quality, is absolutely garbage and sounds like it has been done by an indie dev team on extremely low budget. Especially the weapon sounds and the environmental sounds of footsteps and bullets landing near you. There is ZERO atmosphere in the game.

    I don't know why everyone praises the graphics, DICE like to tank your framerate alright, as they load more and more graphical processes into each new game in the series, but they forget that good graphics also need good art, good visibility and good aesthetic design that is CAREFULLY CONSIDERED FOR THE TYPE OF GAME IT IS, and this game just looks like a big ugly mess that you can't see sweet FA in with a forced crappy Anti-Aliasing method blurring everything further. In a first person shooter! There's a reason why CS:GO, Fortnite and other games with technically "low quality" graphics are the most played shooters - tip, it helps to bloody see what you are doing!

    I played for a month on EA access, but I cancelled it now and have not bought the game, first one in 16 years. RIP Battlefield, RIP the DICE that I once knew.    … Expand

    So far the worst Battlefield I've ever played. Unnecessarily huge maps, very fast TTK, no spotting, annoying munitions, inaccurate shooting, no suppressive effect for snipers, only 64 players in conquest, dying behind walls, bugs and so on. It's no longer Battlefield, but corrupt COD. No more Battlefields. The best Battlefield was Bf3.

To call me “uneducated” because I want a reasonablly authentic game is completely uncalled for. Women DID NOT serve for the Wehrmacht or the Waffen SS. I am by no means a sexist, but anyI have played Battlefield since BF1942, and I have studied World War 2 since I was 5 years old. I am by no means a sexist, but any quick search online of female roles during the Third Reich will reveal that Hitler’s ambition for women was to reproduce as many children as possible, in order to create more “Aryan” people and keep the German military full of new soldiers.     Yes, as many people have pointed out, I did lie about my background in this post. Please do not upvote. This post was an attempt to put pressure on EA and raise awareness to this issue. As those familiar with the Battlefront 2 subreddit will remember, significant pressure by the subreddit resulted in an EA Rep talking with the Reddit community about microtransactions. This communication resulted in heavy backlash on EA, and allowed for the company to temporarily disable microtransactions and mitigate the pay to win elements of the game. Unlike many people here have said, I do not believe Reddit is insignificant, and I do not believe that those who want a degree of historic authenticity are an extremely small minority. I believe if enough pressure is put on DICE and EA, they will create a setting that disables customization and allows for player models that look similar to Battlefield 1 (different silhouettes for each class, somewhat proper uniforms for each faction, correct helmets). I honestly believe that no one wants to take away someone's ability to choose what gender and race their soldier is. However, I also believe that this shouldn't take away someone's ability to choose to play the most accurate representation of World War 2 that the game offers. More choice is a good thing, and to want a historically presentable viewing experience should not be seen as "uneducated."

    - not sure why it doesn't provide deutsch UI option but the voice is in deutsch, apparently u only get to choose from a list of pre-detemined locales

    - no HE / AP distinction
    - the short barrel Panzer IV cant even kill infantry at close range with the smoothbore gun

    Bought it for less than a day at 50% off, refunded immediately.
    This is no doubt another piece of money grab title glued up together with whatever they have in store

Those games that had a better core, and they were designed around multiplayer, and had considerable amount of content and customization from the start. Сомнительное решение добавить отдельные пулеметы под названием универсальные, но универсальными они не являются т.к с ними надо играть только на сошках, ибо стоя вы даже в нескольких метрах с трудом попадете в него. Штурм почему то убрали. Понравилась специализация ствола, по типу прокачи ствола можно выбрать с каким стилем играть, увеличить скорострельность или понизить отдачу и т.п. Так же и с техникой. Карты отстойные, из ванильных карт только 3 нормальные. Оптимизация ужасная, с моим железом каким-то образом игра то лагает, то не лагает. Одиночку не стал проходить, она не особо интересная. Обещали в сентябре амереканцев, только метро добавили. Вообщем все будет, но ПОТОМ. А да и кстате баттрояль гавно, но зона прикольно сжигается. Теперь еще поддержку отменили, молодцы, а я думал что увижу восточный фронт… Expand

Every week it forces you to install an update of around 40 Gigs and you can't skip it. You can't play the version you have.     This is the first Battlefield game I can say is truly bad. I have played Battlefield games since the Wake Island Demo years and years ago. DICE has lost touch with is customers and its finally coming back to bite them in the ass. GET WOKE GO BROKE

    If someone in the EA believes that this game is interesting, historical and fascinating, then they are all very mistaken. The game is garbage tolerant **** Poor reskin of BF1.

    So nice rewriting history to please some critics while taking a dump on the sacrifices of soldiers. Commando squad completed an important mission and BFV goes and tells a story of how they failed and how this young daughter beat an nazi company and destroyed the facility instead. Get woke go broke

    Сутки я мучил техподдержку, проблемы закончились сразу с окончанием акции. Прождал 2 недели до следующей распродажи. Купил. Установил. И ошибка 34601.     Полнейший провал. Так долго ждал новый(!) батлфилд в сеттинге второй мировой. Но Dice, дабы быть толерантными и прочее, убили игру в ноль. Просто цирк какой-то, а не игра про войну.

    What the ef DICE??!! Is this the company that gave us BF3 and BF4?
    Game feels like paintball. Horrible map design, seems like only sniper campers can benefit.
    And worst part is: it's SO BUGGY!!! The release was delayed and still so many bugs. You can't be serious DICE!

    This game doesn't rape only history, it rape physics too. Look at the speed of paratroopers. I really like BF1. But this is a trash.

    It’s far from being ideal but all the glitches and shortcomings don’t ruin the overall fun of Battlefield V’s multiplayer experience. Although the single player portion of the game is not bad at all, I would have been disappointed if I bought the game just for it. [13/2018, p.56]

    In Battlefield V we got back to WW2, but with refined gunplay and death system which works great. There are also little problems such as low number of maps and stability issues, that are taking the fun away, but nothing that can't be fixed.

    A great World War II shooter that will grow and improve. Do not buy the game because of its singleplayer, but if you consider the campaign a bonus to the multiplayer, you will be satisfied. [Issue#291]
