    Absolute beauty of a game, it is currently the best looking shooter out there right now, the graphics on ultra are amazing and the multi-player plays like a charm for me. Solid 10.

    The game is great. Im not here to rate bugs. They will be fixed. Otherwise the game doesn't crash to often, im one of the luckier ones. The servers hardly crash and the game is great. After a week or two everyone will enjoy the game they are meant to. Its fun as hell and the best Battlefield to date.

    DICE has done it. They further improved multiplayer mode with more destruction, more game modes and better gameplay. And a campaign that grabs you from the first mission, very well developed, a dash more than decent and great memories. Pity that know little but as everyone knows, the attraction of this game is in the multiplayer mode that provides millions of hours of entertainment.DICE has done it.     Beautiful game with an incredible engine and action packed all out wars fit with complex game modes and smooth game-play. This game is truly an improvement from its previous installment. With this magnificent game comes a truly under-rated campaign.

    One of the best MP FPS out there and not only in terms of visual and audio. Gameplay has improved quite a lot, maps and classes seems to have better balance comparing to BF3. Everything looks and feels very neat and clean. Tho lot of people are complaining that BF4 is rather BF3.5 i see it as s step further, considering the new options and levolution i can only imagine what they couldOne of the best MP FPS out there and not only in terms of visual and audio.     Campaign isn't exactly spectacular but that shouldn't be a surprise tho i enjoyed it bit more that BF3. Dice should have enough tools in their hands to force players to do some teamwork, that shouldnt be too hard for them but at the moment its not exactly a goal but playing with decent crew on your own might change it easily. There are other things thet could be considered annoying but to be honest i consider them my personal issues as i might not like them but i dont see them affecting the bigger picture on its own game itself is great playground.

    Tho what really annoys me is that every time when some kind of sequel is being released, bunch of guys show up and start talking about how great last part was and how crappy the new one is and it happens over and over again. Whining at its best:). I'd ignore most of the negative reviews, few of them consists any decent critics. That's why i've given 10/10 tho more realistic would be 8/10.    … Expand

    Great game, nice graphics and really enjoyable game play. Love it. Emphasis on team work makes it really enjoyable and rewarding to pull of things with your team.

Thing is, this game is riddled with bugs. When I tried out the BF4 Beta, I really hoped that BF4 would be delayed as releasing it like this would definitely hurt its reputation. It did.     Awesome fun in multiplayer. Playing with friends and coordinating is great fun with TS3. As great as BF3 is, this has even more to offer. Single player is also fun but I am not to far in it yet as I keep getting drawn back in to multiplayer. Levolution is awesome. Haven't had the "bugs some people talk about.     I think people has to stop viewing just the bad things (crashes, bugs), you all know they are going to get fixed.

    Besides a few server bugs there is zero to complain about in the game. It's maps are amazing in every game mode from small firefights to all out war. Nothing like this has ever been attempted let alone run so smooth. Ignore the haters, try it you will not regret it.

    An incredible atmosphere, the weather has never been as an important influence in a game Actually there is not much difference between Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 4 the revolution there was between Bad Company 2 and BF3, but it was still a game that has evolved a weapons management has changed even if the interface can still be improved.
    This game is MUST for all fans of FPS multiplayer!

    Simple If you are a owner of a true PC High-End like i7, more than 6g ram and, a 2g graphic card BUY THIS GAME AND BE HAPPY. THIS IS A VERY GOOD GAME, only bad thing is the gliches because the game was released too early so the EA will gonna fix that for sure. AWESOME GAME AND MULTIPLAYER

    I love the new multiplayer! It's the second Battlefield that I play and it's just awesome! Some say, the destruction of buildings is just eyecandy but I disagree. You can use destroyed buildings as protection and the "Levolution" thingy forces the people to change their strategy in mid-game.

Usual suspects you've all heard, hit detection issues, AI issues, etc etc...it doesn't matter. Nobody plays BF for the single player story line. I logged 200+ hours on BF3, I was a tournament BF 1942 player, I know the mechanics of BF very well. Never played a better FPS my whole life, and I've played FPS titles more than half my lifetime pretty much daily. CoD has never come close to comparable, and BF4 just widened that gap.     This is the most amazing First Person Shooter experience, it has amazing graphics, amazing gameplay, and you can play as a soldier on foot or as a commander, deploying ammo & much more for your team, it's a game which you can't play alone, it's focus is on team-playing if you want to win.

    BF4 is a worthy sequel to the Battlefield series and i highly recommend it, The newer Frostbite engine (Frostbite 3) served this game quite well even tho it looks almost authentic with the last Frostbite engine which was used in BF3, but it's very different and a lot of improvements have taken place in FB3.

    Great game in keeping with the BF tradition. The Battlepack system is a great addition and the graphics are insane. Early issues with crashing appear to be fixed and i havent had any issues in a while. I highly recommend.

    It's momentum. It just builds on the great things before and adds to them. Most of the online gameplay is addictive in order to level up the weapons but that's the same kind of formula with other games too. I love this game and haven't played hardly anything else since it was released.

    the only thing that disappointing about this game was that the multiplayer requires an xbox live gold membership, if they were to add a local or system link connection to the multiplayer it would be better, minus that it's an amazing game.

    This is my first time playing a battlefield game after playing COD in the past. There's no comparison, this game is COD on steroids. Playing COD is underwhelming and boring now compared to BF4. The amount of detail put into this game is amazing and it really pays off in multiplayer.

    Its a good Battlefield, but i prefer the 3, 4 its more destructive and have more graphics, but, DICE cant do the thing that are doing Activison, releasing a game in a year or months.

    Battlefield 4 is such a big improvement, Commander mode is so fun to play especially when your not with friends. The destructive buildings are awesome, the graphics are breathtaking and the fps O my GOD so good. It did have bugs at the start but so does every game. They have been fixed this happens to every game even call of duty so guy give a little leeway.

    I bought it at discount from Origin June 2014. The multi-player aspect is really phenomenal. I haven't played the campaign much but it looked more than decent.

    I know the game shipped unfinished and Dice lost an opportunity to dazzle and wow players because of it. But the game I started playing is brilliant.

    This game is better that Call of Duty Ghost,im right now playing more Battlefield 4 that Call of Duty Ghost. Tha game is fricking realistic the Weaponds have recoil and everything,thats what i like. Call of Duty Ghost sucks is the same thing OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN.

    Without crashes, this game is one of THE BEST fps shooters. But the game is riddled with bugs that are slowly being fixed. I think the beta should have been earlier so they could have fixed more bugs.

    On PC, the game is really beautiful!

    The bug is corrected , and it became a pleasure to play ! The " evolution " is really well done

    And is game immersive and very fun

    I beta tested Battlefield 4, so i know about almost every glitch that the game has had, it took me almost 2 days to get the game stable enough to play. Because of this I was sketchy about getting the game altogether, that and also the reviews about how messed up the game is. However, I just recently purchased the game and I am happy to announce that the game is now working very well.     For the first I'd say: this game has never been overpriced, not then it's on release - not for now. This is the only multiplayer shooter capable of giving you a huge doze of childish joy every time you play it! 100% worth playing!

    I know that the game had huge problems at release, but it looks great at the moment and I would recommend to try it! I think most of the vanila maps are great and with the upcoming CTE changes (Rush rebalance) the game will be even more great!
    Most of the major problems are fixed, people who say they aren't haven't played the game or just want to complain about something...

    I held off buying BF4 in protest of what I saw as EA and DICE's ruining the series by "call-of-dutifying" the way new installments in the series are handled. However, during the recent sale I made the leap and picked up the base game.

    In short, this is everything Battlefield 3 should have been. Despite what people have said about BF4 being rushed out, I believe it is the other way around: This game makes me think that BF3 was rushed to release before it could become the game DICE wanted it to be. That game, in my opinion, is BF4. While many things here do look nearly identical to BF3 at first glance, anyone who has played a good amount of the latter will immediately notice that nearly every feature has been expanded upon and simply made to feel more "complete": Much larger (and better) maps, BC2 style destruction (collapsing buildings are back!), in-game VOIP for squad members, Commander mode, multiple weapon attachments, different classes of jets (stealth fighers vs. attack fighters), the AC-130 incorporated into the base game (awesome, btw), and a much larger assortment of weapons, items, perks, etc - Quite simply this is everything that BF3 was expected to be. Release issues aside, I strongly believe that much of the hate for BF4 can largely be attributed to the fact that BF3 was not yet the "complete" Battlefield game which DICE envisioned.

    Fans of Bad Company 2 will be happy to know that the destruction which was so lacking in BF3 is back in full - Buildings can be blown apart in much smaller increments, and once more can collapse entirely if enough damage is done. The maps also have a BC2 flair to them, with many taking place in semi-tropical environments reminiscent of the best Conquest/Rush maps on offer in Bad Company 2 (Isla Innocentes, Laguna Presa anyone?).

    In the end, this is still the same Battlefield I know and love, and I am glad I finally let curiosity get the better of me and made the purchase. While BF4 is more refinement over innovation, it is a definite improvement over its predecessor and in my opinion one of if not the best Battlefield game to date.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I just started playing BF4 a few days ago and i can easily say BF4 is the better game. It is not BF 3.5 like some say. It has mayor improvements. It has been fine tuned. Better balance. BF3 had shi** weapon recoil/handling.
    I remember these situation in BF3 where you sneak up on your enemies. Then you go full out, and you can kill maybe 1 of you foes. Realistically you should take down at least three. In BF4 even in standard mode weapons feel more powerful. You can actually saw trough your enemies given the opportunity.
    Also, BF4 feels way more responsive to me. Enemy kill, blood animations are better. Bottom line, the shooting and killing your enemy feels better, rewarding.

    Now the big one. The graphics are really on another level. Wow.. the detail, flora etc loke more realistic. It s better to use bushes, plants for cover in BF4 in a relistic way. Good maps for graphics impressions is the Floods map.. the water is Photorealistic. It cant get any better. The water physics. The murkyiness.

    Physics, since BF4 uses FB3 engine, the physics are better. Driving is way bettter. I couldn't ask for more from a military game. Shooting at destructable objects with your gun you can feel the difference aleady. Good stuff.
    The interface, Deploy map is way better. Since you have to spend quite some time in weapon customization etc. The menus are better now. In battle interfaces are more minimalistic, better design.

    If your system can handle it, BF4 is epic. (BF game played before BF3 premium, BF BC2, and Vietnam)

    I give BF 10 rating because it is the best BF, and the best online shooter i have played. (not that its soo perfect or anything)

    (I had some lagging issues at the start, but it was my shi** router connection over WiFi. Now i uses cable and ping is better than BF3 even maybe. I have above average ping, but i get 40-60 ping in better servers. I have had no buggs really. So maybe ia am lucky, and also i didn't play it from the release date.)    … Expand

    Critisisms on map design, under/overpowered weapons, game balance will be there for all games, including this one. But when your money buys you 20 plus months of intense internet multiplayer action, its bearable.

    Coming from a long time Battlefield player, simply put, this is the best Battlefield ever made. It had a rough start because of crashing issues, but the actual game play is flat amazing. At this point you can ignore all of the early negativity because it doesn't apply anymore anyway. If you're a battlefield fan on the fence about getting this, its easily worth it. Great game.

    Seriously, this is ridiculous. I will go as far as saying BF4 is the best BF yet, as it is currently clean of bugs, but still receiving updates for balancing issues, which are mostly fixed now. BF4 was, at the start, completely unplayable, but is now 100% functioning, and now they've balanced out the weapons and vehicles, and this is all because of a hard-working team called DICE LA-they're in fact the most supportive/active developers I've ever seen. In fact, if I read a new forum post or watch a new Lvlcap video about balancing issues, a week later, DICE LA has fixed it in the newest update, which makes me think that they check absolutely every corner of BF4 hate on the internet. They really do their job well and are saving BF4 from being a buggy unbalanced disaster

    Years after the release it's still the best looking FPS game you can get. A big and loyal fun community with even up today a lot of servers and many players who play battlefield 4. The game is a musthave and worth every penny. I have purchased it lately in 2016 and already have about 400+ hours in BF4 and I'm still playing.

    DICE, you are the best that did not remove support for x32 systems and left DirectX 10.1. I love this battles, the graphics are not bad, the physics is at the level, the optimization has not failed, the multiplayer is dynamic.

    Looking at BF4 in 2019 shows the complete picture of what could have been. All the DLC were at some point free and I didn´t pay a cent and I own all of them. There is just a ton of content and on modern Hardware (GTX980, 6700K, 16GB RAM) the game in my opionion looks good and runs at a nice framerate of above 120 Hz.

    This is my favorite Battlefield game so far. BF3 had some good maps which I miss now but overall the gameplay in BF4 is better. A lot of maps, good "time to kill" and I really loved the sadly removed commander mode.

    We live in a time where there is great cynicism and hate towards shooters, especially military style shooters such as this. I'm just a person on the sidelines who doesn't care and tries to enjoy video games for what they are, rather than dwelling on what was made in the past. I loved Battlefield since the beginning, but times change, and perhaps for the worse for some people, but for the better for others. Who is to say what's right or not anymore? It's all up to all of you to decide for yourselves if you like a game or not, and if you are mad that your money didn't go to something functional or to your liking, then I understand.

    I personally would blame EA, if blame is really neccesary in this situation. EA clearly wants to compete against the Call of Duty franchise creators, Infinity Ward, and DICE was under heavy pressure to do certain things or rush a product out. It can't be any coincidence that Call of Duty Ghosts released so near the release date of Battlefield 4. DICE CARES about their games and feedback, because they are working on a patch right now to fix client side crashing and game instability. They already FIXED the server crashing problems, at least from what I can tell.

    Now, the singleplayer. In all honesty, the singleplayer is a fairly big improvement over Battlefield 3's dismal and minimalistic campaign. We can all agree Battlefield 3's campaign, even if it had its moments, was quite lacking. For Battlefield 4, however, we have a few epic moments, with some emotional bits here and there, with generally good voice acting. The combat is rewarding with a new multiplayer style scoring system with leaderboards, and enemies seem to react to your fire especially when you use the "Engage" ability which is a nice touch that makes it feel a tiny bit more tactical. When you use it, the allies that follow you all throughout the game will immediately focus their fire on one or more targets. Said allies are actually not spouting military jargon all the time, and instead are quite a bit more human in their conversations or banter. It's shocking that this would happen in a Battlefield campaign, I know, but I liked "Irish" the most, who has a voice actor that puts on a GREAT performance. The singleplayer has some good bits to it, including collectable/unlockable weapons you can equip/unequip at Bad Company 2 style weapon lockers. There are, shockingly enough, moments where you can either choose stealth or to go in gun's blazing. Overall, it's honestly not THAT bad and hardly that painful, and I reccomend it for shooter fans. I know I'm a shooter fan, regardless of if it is a military shooter or not! We even get fairly big, non linear combat areas at times where you can choose how to approach a combat situation.

    Sadly, the singleplayer is weighed down by AI that seems to work, but then falls apart at other times. Even on hard mode, the campaign is too darn easy, and I found myself only dying because the damage enemies do is increased. The game is also hurt by the usual military shooter tropes, such as healthregeneration, and lack of meaningful area exploration. The story, oh man, isn't anything to write home about, but at least the presentation is there!

    In conclusion, the singleplayer isn't terrible at all. I have no clue what anyone is talking about anymore... even the critics. I mean, we GET some things that make it so much better anyway such as a scoring system and collectable/unlockable weapons with a few open areas like Bad Company 2's campaign. Really how else could they of made it? Like FarCry 3?! There are only so many ways you can make a military shooter campaign, really now!

    As for the multiplayer. Oh boy. Disregard the crashing or server problems, because THOSE WILL BE FIXED... it is an absolutely addictive, complete, and epic experience. In terms of audio and visual qaulity, it's stunning. In terms of immersion and gunplay, it's stunning. In terms of epic situations, that quite frankly, only happen in Battlefield 4, it's stunning! We get 10 maps, which is a juicy amount, with each supporting quite a few game modes. Some of the game modes are a bit flawed, but for the most part, I have a great time on them, and all of them are beautiful! Except Operation Locker, that map is awful, which I'd call the new "Metro" map! There really isn't much else to say. We have new "Battlepacks", which make ranking up even more rewarding and fun, and tons of accesories, upgrades, and whatnot for EVERYTHING. Even vehicles have camos now you can customize!

    To summarize for the TL;DR crowd. Battlefield 4 has a modestly okay campaign, with an even more complete multiplayer! Not a bad game.    … Expand

If you liked BF3 or if at least it interested you but wasn't your thing, check out BF4. DICE and EA are ambitious and most of it they pull off well. If you didn't like BF3s brand of warfare, or prefer smaller, moshpit inspired gameplay chances are BF4 isn't for you. BF4 doesn't want to cater to COD-type warfare. What they do in BF4 is improve their special brand of combat and it really shows. Stop the COD vs BF4 hate. Just play your games and, if you really want to have a good time, stop worrying about the nerdiest rivalry ever and just play both games because they are both good in their own way.    … Expand

    Overall, this is the best current MP shooter game available I don't care if you have a hard-on for COD or CS1.6 this has the best mix for customisability/graphics/environment and realism (aside from ARMA) available.
    Whilst I don't think this game's initial maps were as good as BF3 (except Paracel Storm) I think the variation within each level is amazing i.e. you can have close quarter fighting in a map with vehicles this brings a whole new dynamic to the game that we didn't have in BF3
    I think, like BF3 (and remember enthusiasts, BF3 wasn't without a massive amount of issues too) BF4 will improve as the title goes on for the next 2 years e.g. the Sniper class NEEDS to be nerfed it is far to COD like (to note, this is a negative) and too easy to master

    Whatever others say, its always important to take a sneak peak yourself... I find the campaign gripping the story is, well, not the newest on the planet. But: the nuances are detailed and the sound mesmerizing. The scenery is breathtaking. The weapons so realistic. The characters amicable. I can identify with Recker et al. Graphics 10/10.     A really nice game, even despite the bugs and network instability the gameplay itself has given me many hours of fun gameplay.

    As any online game it is a "work in progress" and should be allowed to be such a game since it will make the game develop over time and adapt to the players wishes.

Once or twice I couldn't connect and on one server I was disconnected after the battle (without loosing stats so no harm done). I thought it will be hard to do a shooter better than BF3, but again I was wrong. Maps are great, graphic superb, I didn't notice any problems with balance finally it is possible for engineer to shoot a plane down (eventually). It is somewhat resource-hungry I had to lower my graphic settings slightly, but progress have its price. Graphic is still brilliant though. People saying that levolution is just a gimmick. Maybe it is but it is an awesome, jawdropping gimmick. On some maps it can completely change the course of the battle.
    The low score is probably a result of people disappointed with a new CoD switched to Battefield and didn't find it to their taste (they get killed too often because of lack of tactical thinking and teamplay or they are focused on campaign mode).    … Expand

    As of this writing I've already finished the Singleplayer campaign (which I found very enjoyable, even if it was a tad cheesy and rushed) and I've played numerous hours of multiplayer which I have found very enjoyable. Multiplayer can be pretty hit or miss depending on how cooperative your team is and whether your team is filled with players only trying to rack up kills rather than complete objectives.

    The graphics are top notch no other FPS really comes close at the moment. The map design is mostly creative, looking forward to additional content next year.

The ocean maps are very impressive and it gives us a bit of how well the new engine as been improved since frosbite 2. The wave are impressive! I was a bit scared after seeing the beta But rest assure DICE did a great job at where there best at: Making life-like battlefield and good gaming experience. I wonder what would it be if they come back in the WW2 with this engine! Imagine the allies taking back the Normandy coast!… Expand

    After the recent "netcode(tickrate)" patch, this game has become a marvelous game. It was already fantastic basically, but it was just broken and therefore many have hated the game. Still some servers with drastical lags, but in decent servers, game is so enjoyable. Everything is so fine and various.     Major gameplay upgrade from the 3rd and the rest of its series, and it compiles all the best aspect from the predecessor like the squad size and commander.
    But its already 5 month since this game released and it still has too many bugs which hinder the fun. But the effort from the developer to fix the bugs is appreciated.

Though I might get frustrated because of the bugs and hit detection, but the next day I get right back in and have a blast… Expand

On top of that it dumps all my stats for the match I can't even play anymore this is insane! Campaign I had to restart several missions time and time again just to complete them due to crashing from auto saves or getting stuck, Pathetic! I want my money for the game andI was having fun even with all the troubles, now its UNPLAYABLE! Every match I get a "Battlefield 4 has stopped working"! The maps are very well done, and there are some great effects which really add to the game atmosphere.     Now that the constant server crashing is all over with the game is awesome. People need to be patient. I wish the Commander mode had more things to do on some maps though. The single player was short but that was expected in a game designed for multiplayer.

All combined with seriouslyI'm going to keep this short and sweet.     I'm rating this solely on multiplayer as I never touch the single player component of battlefield games, the map design is better than ever, the visuals are the best ones out there, better netcode, what else is there to say, it is whatever we hoped for in Battlefield 3.

    Simply a masterpiece. The game has a great storyline and multiplayer is addicting. I'd recommend this to any COD fan. New levels, new weapons and new multiplayer modes make this game fun.

    Battlefield 4 delivers a fresh new experience to multiplayer while continuing the existing experience from Battlefield 3, with a variety of new features. While DICE continues to improve at telling singleplayer stories, it’s defiantly a major improvement from Battlefield 3 and is a defiant buy.

    Positives:
    - Way better than BF3, improved in every way possible. Feels more like Battlefield
    - Excellent Maps
    - Extremely good unlocking and customization systems
    Negatives:
    - Single player sucks, what sucks even more is that you HAVE to complete the campaign to unlock 3 MP guns, including the P90 (which is amazing). I honestly couldn't be asked to finish the SP.

    Good improvement from Battlefield 3 there are some crashing issues which are most likely going to be solved at some point. unfortunately this game is distributed by Origin so if Origin refuses to work you can just go to your local physical games distributor and buy it there. Also the server disconnecting issues were solved at a recent patch so yay!

    Battlefield 4 could just as well be called Battlefield 3.5. The new Battlefield features are only marginal improvements over Battlefield 3, but even as such it leaves the competitors way behind. Hopefully the bugs will be squashed soon. [Nov 2013]

    Even if multiplayer wasn't buggy, Battlefield 4 would still only be a barely passable installment in all respects besides the snazzy graphics. EA and DICE played it safe by providing the same thing they did the last time around, with another phoned-in campaign and only minor alterations to the online.

    Battlefield 4 keeps soldiering on in the same footsteps as previous games in the series. The lack of worthwhile news makes you wish for more. Dice stays in its comfort zone calls for explosions and not much more. The series needs to evolve or fade out.
