Firstly, single player. In one word: BORING. Lots of scenes, fluid movements, lots of talking but it doesn't want you to play any further. Been there, seen it.
Next, multiplayer. Firstly, the main problem. Client-side hit register. If your enemy hits you on their screen, you die regardless of your actual position on your screen. This, basically, defeats the whole purpose of having dedicated servers - your ping doesn't matter, if they killed you a while ago but you only saw it now because of THEIR large ping, its your problem. Its the reason I stopped playing COD:MW2 (p2p multiplayer, client-side hit register), its the reason I didn't buy COD:MW3 (same p2p). Its the reason I'm trying to get a refund on BF3 now.
Other things to mention about MP: huge but empty maps, multi-layered buildings that prevent you from seeing the outside (its too bright), tanks that are nearly indestructible to infantry (3 rockets to kill it in hardcore - you'll just die), planes that have no purpose other than fighting other planes (they can't capture points, can't deliver more than 1 player to a point).
Hardcore is no longer hardcore. You don't get infinite health, but the minimap is ALWAYS on, minimap spotting lights you up as soon as you fire a gun, killcam (which reveals your position) is almost always shown, sniper scope glare makes it easy to find the sniper no matter how good their cover is. And best of all - the most powerful sniper rifle still doesn't kill with 1 bullet. Even assault rifle HEADSHOT won't kill them with 1 hit. What kind of hardcore mode is this?
Class balance is simply awful. Medic gets it all: infinite health with medkit, 100 points per revive (same as a kill), grenade launcher (replaces medkit), assault rifles (!). Support now has only light machine guns and... ammo packs! And thats it! As a result support is now least popular class, in many cases there is no one to ask for ammo. Recon is same good old sniper, engineer is same good old rocket launcher guy.
Weapon balancing is simple: the more you progress, the better the gun. Surely you can hit and even kill with anything, but F2000+IRNV = undefeated. Add ability to put a silenver and 3rd attachment to it and you'll know it simply defeats the purpose of tactical gameplay. You can just rambo it all. In BFBC2 we couldn't rambo 24/7 because best gun was in the hands of support and medkit was in the hands of medic, and you could only find cover when being shot at by a sniper - hard to tell where they were. But at least they didn't kill you with client-side hit register (you could run into cover and it did prevent you from being hit).
I am amused at people who are able to play this game for 100s of hours. I'm trying to get a refund to buy something else.

Battlefield and Call of Duty fans have been doing this forever to each other. So I don't recommend looking up reviews for these games, but rather check them out yourself. Mt personal opinion is this game is this: it is a masterpiece. The only problem I have is with the recent patch, the first for the game. It made aircraft and helicopters super weapons. It takes ~3 rockets to kill them, but they can kill you with one bullet. I pray that they fix this error. Other than that, thumbs up from me. Expand

He is a troll, games that a dedicated for reviews scores of a 1 or below include: Hulk Hogan's Main Event, and Big Rigs: Over the Road racing. Now, onto my review. I know what people say about the campaign, but I personally loved it. The deaths were not expected, but were actually believeable. The main story might've been a little cliched, but what happened in the game itself was different than what was done before. Now, the score: The score is absolutely amazing, and after I right this, I will proceed to buy it off of iTunes. The music isn't always blaring in your ears, but when it is playing, it really compliments the game. The mulitplayer is one word: competely expectation- shattering. I was maybe a little scared about how Battlefield 3 would be, but all my doubts were put to death. The multiplayer is amazing. You can't wait to get your next unlock, and DICE doesn't shove a new unlock down your throat every game, conquest NEEDS teamwork, and so does rush, which seperates battlefield from other FPS games. Btw, jkneuper, I'm sorry, but you are an idiot. Squad voice chat is by no means a reason to reduce a games review score by 8 pts. You can communicate with them with text chat by pressing L, or have them be your friends (unless you don't have any :P) and join their party, or Ventrilo or Teamspeak. I have played Battlefield since the beginning and it is amazing to see how it has grown. The sound is absolutely amazing, and as are the graphics if your pc can support it. Best graphics I have EVER seen in an FPS, and best sound. I truly recommend this title to anybody who likes FPSs. It blows the competition away. Expand

The graphics are amazing even on medium settings and the combat plentiful and fun. The only major drawback are that the jets are quite worthless compared to the original Battlefield 2. EA has done a great job on this. Two thumbs way up!

I'm new to the series and bought this game pre-release because it looked really good. And I was right. The visuals was amazing. I did not however realize that this was primarely a multiplayer game.

Now, I don't think it's fair to downrate a game too much because of my expectations. I'm not a big fan of multiplayer. It's a world unknown to me habitated by invincible players too good for me

Now, I don't think it's fair to downrate a game too much because of my expectations. I'm not a big fan of multiplayer. It's a world unknown to me habitated by invincible players too good for me to enjoy it. I don't really have the time, nor do I want to improve. So I'm more of a single player, story-mode player.

The single player was short, uninspiring and like any other cliché. It's like the writers have some sort of story generator with just a few factors like: "Russian" "Middle East" "Conspiracy" "Explosions" "American hero" etc. It's boring and a perspective we've all seen too much of in movies and games. I don't honestly think that this is what players want. Now, imagine this beautifully developed game with a solid single player story mode. A story mode that had the same magnitude as, let's say, Skyrim or Fallout. Where you develop your character. Explore cities, "dungeons" etc. Sounds like a roleplaying game but it really doesn't have to be.

All in all not worth the money if you're looking for a single player adventure. I really can't speak for the multiplayer community though.

    2. engineers should be nerfed or make all classes engineers. the reason I say this is that they can kill everything. they can equip mines and rockets. there carbines are insane. they are what you say one man army's
    3. recons are raped in this game, I played recon in BC2 and its a difficult class to play I loved the snipes across the map considering the bullet drop and determing the path the player would walk. the mortar was a game turner. what we get now is the soflam only usefull when there is a engineer with a stinger. and is paying attention. and that is the problem with this multiplayer game, they expect it to be teambased combat. but it isnt most of the players are lonewolfs. one can blame the players. I blame the developer for creating a environment which allows this. I am still a fan of minus points. are you being a dickhead and you want to kill a lot of ppl instead of getting to the target you get a penalty. that is what I call realistic. in the army they arent happy with triggerhappy nutsacks.

last thing I have to say is that the so called destruction in this game is at a minimum, remember in bc2 where you can level almost a whole map.. that isnt in bf3 and that was for me such a let down. if there was lots of destruction in this game I could live with my earlier made points. but the lack of it , I cant play it anymore it gets on my nerves more then I enjoy it. back to BC2 I say.

It took me quite some time fiddeling with settings, downloading beta drivers and waiting for patches before I could play versus multiplayer games without crashing to desktop every 5 minutes, but it works now. It still feels like a battlefield game, with a nice blend of the features of Battlefield 2 and Bad Company. Unlocking gadgets and weapons is a nice draw, but I do have a problem with how much of a hassle it is to change your kits. It can only be done in-game . You'd think after making us put up with a that pointless webbased interface in battlelog, they'd at least let you use it to customize your loadout, but no. If you die, you get an unskippable view of your killer, before you get 3 seconds to decide where you want to spawn and what your loadout will be. And if you want to change your scope, you need to go through 5 different menus, while the game goes on without you. And in general, Origin and Battlelog are just a pain to deal with compared with the in game server browser from previous games. It adds no value for the player, so I can only assume it's used for EA's sake.

The coop missions are decent, but there's too few of them, they get pretty predictable, and they really don't make enough use of the fact that the game has a good vehicle system. There's only one coop mission where you get to fly an attack helicopter, and you don't even get to fight other helicopters, just some ground units that pose only a small threat. Why there isn't a mission where one player provides air support in a fighter or scout chopper with miniguns while the other player calls targets and clears indoor areas, or one drives a tank and the other an APC or AA vehicle, or one drives a humvee while the other one takes the machine gun, I don't know. I hope EA makes a few more missions that play to Battlefield's strengths, instead of featuring corridor-shootouts with little more teamplay beyond picking your co-op partner of the ground if he gets shot.. I generally love co-op levels, but here they're just acceptable, when all the tools to make them great are already in the game.

The singleplayer campaign is worse though. The story is a pitfull rehash of Modern Warfare's, the areas look nice but are all pretty linear, the gunplay is acceptable but nothing special, and again the game does almost nothing with the fact that the game already features many fully simulated and controlable vehicles. The tank levels are about the only ones make a little bit of use of the capabilities of the game. The fighter-jet level is pathetic though. It's just an on-rails section as the copilot, and since you shoot guided missiles it isn't even a fun on-rails section, followed by a less intense ripoff of the gunship level from MW1 where you point at targets on the ground for other planes to shoot. Why they put actual time into programming the controls for this section when they could've let you fly a plane yourself with the same controls as in multiplayer baffles me. In summary, good multiplayer (though not many features previous games didn't already have), nice graphics, poor single player, average co-op, and annoying features (Origin & Battlelog) that are of more value to EA than their customers.

Better maps, mostly better weapons, and sniper class has taken a fall with scope glint, no magnum ammo, and the new bullet drop animation can be a nuisance to tell where the bullet is hitting. The game has frequent issues such as 'stopped working' which i've noticed has been an issue for some people since launch, yet all they offer in response is 'google chrome's fault, or x-fire's fault'. Essentially what could have been a great game is still fairly beta quality, presumably due to trying to release before MW3. While this move may have worked for sales of this game, it will hurt long time followers of the battlefield series who, at this point, want nothing more to do with them. Expand

Think it's cheap that the one guy is just hanging out behind that one wall all the time killing people?? Just blow up the wall! The other great thing is that you get points for supporting your team, giving them health or supplies, etc... so you can upgrade your character without doing any killing if you so choose to.

My system is about a year old if not more, but pretty hefty built. It handles the game well, sometimes some choppiness but nothing game killing.

I haven't noticed very many horrible glitches personally, just the occasional killed body bouncing around, or camera inside a wall when showing who killed you. So really nothing that kills the game for me.

    Anyway.

Graphic wise, I had issue with the facial expressions of the humans though. They were very detailed dolls. It's a small disappointment considering the amount of effort put into making realistic motion and such, but you're not staring at faces most of the time in BF3 eh? Apart from the slightly laggish rendering that's pronouced when looking around quickly, the environments and vehicles were fantastic, as expected.

The music sucks, but the sound effects were great.

The campaign was rubbish. After all their marketing and insecure justifications, it's just a wannabe COD campaign. The story was...o-k...but it was poorly narrated. Honestly, Bad Company had much better campaigns. Heck, even the rubbish thrown out by Treyarch's better. Just.

Multiplayer is where is shines. As expected from the BF series, maps can be huge and when playing with the right group of people, expect epic battles and intense tit-for-tat movement of objectives. However, compared to COD multiplayer, the learning curve is higher and the pace is much slower, so, unfortunately, fantastic game though it is, it'll very unlikely surpass COD as one of the hottest multiplayer franchises.

After over 3+ hours of EA "support" they finally told me that my realtek onboard audio was prohibiting the game from running. In an attempt to call Bull I uninstalled my realtek audio drivers and disabled my onboard audio and it still wouldn't work. I have also tried all the "fixes" out there on the internet but still no dice. Until EA/DICE fixes this, this game gets a 0.

    P.S. I have a 6870 and a Phenom II X4 and 8GB Ram, should run fine.

The maps are too big and too much time is spent wandering around doing nothing, the maps are poorly designed and if they were designed better it would force ppl into conflict more often.

The knife never works unless you press up against the player, it's like the guy has no arms.

The biggest issue and what makes this the worst campfest around is you get killed in 2 shots by any gun and the red flash you get when being shot blinds your entire screen so reacting is taking out of the equation.

The single player is not very fun. It's a lot of button smashing/ button sequences.. *yawn.* This was clearly an attempt to become more like other games *cough* COD *cough.* but don't let that keep you from buying this game. The multiplayer on this game is AWESOME. No crappy matchmaking like COD, dedicated servers, vehicles, huge maps, servers up to 64 players, vehicles etc. There are a few drawbacks for me. As a long time COD player, I am use to very fluid motions in game, very fast reloads, fast stance changing etc. The body mechanics in this game are SO stiff and rigid. One thing I have never understood about games is when the mechanics are different in single player than multiplayer. In single player you can go from prone to crouch, crouch to standing, or any variation without ever breaking your aim (aim down sight) and go from prone to sprint very quickly but in the multiplayer if you're prone you break your aim and slowly prop yourself up then have to re-aim again. Reloading (especially anti-air and anti-tank missiles feels like it takes hours). Though these aren't vital to games success it is hard to get use to. With all of my criticisms out of the way this game is FANTASTIC. If you have friends who play this game you can all squad up, and coordinate attacks, objectives etc. and it actually brings teamwork to multiplayer (something COD REALLLY lacks). I started off not liking the stiffness of this game but as I've played longer and longer it is CLEARLY the choice over Modern Warfare 3. This game was designed with the PC player in mind. I've played on the xbox 360 and PC and the graphics on PC make xbox graphics look like a 5 year old's hand drawing. It's refreshing to see a game that had hard work, dedication, and passion involved in it's development and not some recycled garbage from past years. I have found this game difficult to enjoy without a team that's willing to work together but I have 3+ friends who always squad with me so it is THE multiplayer game of the year BAR NONE in my opinion. -Unlock progression is frustrating and many feel 'required' in most situations.
-Many, many users have technical issues running the game (I am not one of them)
-Squading and maps are poorly implemented and lacking basic features.

The only real reason I'm even giving this game a 5 in it's current state is because it is actually quite fun after you unlock a few things and are actually in the game playing. It's too bad DICE tried to re-make the game from the ground up the way they did. They dropped the ball pretty hard on many fronts.

First, the singleplayer. This was a great display of visuals, no matter your graphic settings for your PC. Storyline, wasn't quite what I'd consider great, maybe decent, tops. This was mostly due to you playing an on rail shooter. But the visuals, they are great, but singleplayer feels like it was only meant to show off the Frostbite 2 engine, which they did very well on, but the storyline obviously suffered due to the focus on that. Overall, it's pretty, but for the same looks, and much more interactive, go online. Second, the Co-Op. The Co-Op was fun, but very short-lived. With only 6 short missions, there wasn't much meat to it. If anything, I wanted to know more about these individual missions, and the complete storyline behind the characters, especially at the end mission. This left me wanting more, and I really do hope there is, because it was fun, though short. The only challenge is really on Hard mode, Normal should be the Easy mode, Hard switched with Normal, and then Hard the ungodly difficult mission mode. It was fun, though, to try and get through all of them without dying. The biggest challenge with that is the glitch[?] where an enemy will knife you like he has the commando perk from CoD. And without warning, either. Third, the multiplayer. This is what you should be buying this game for. If not, you're wasting your money. The multiplayer can feel cheap at times with enemy mortar or vehicles, or simply a bad team. But it's gorgeous to watch and be a part of. To see a complete different scene on every map, on every side, on every game mode, is amazing. They included conquest, conquest large [2 extra objectives, or at least 1 extra from conquest], rush [demolition, plant bombs, you move through the map], and then team deathmatch, along with one squad of four only versions of rush and team deathmatch.
Overall, I gave this game an eight because of the co-op shortlived, bad singleplayer, and amazing multiplayer. Don't buy if you're playing alone, but online, it is quite something.

Something that really bump up the experience for me, is the fact that there are really good graphic visuals, effects, movements, as well audio effects. The last thing I point about the game is teamwork, there are 4 types of soldiers, engineer, sniper, medic, assault. so in order to achieve a win in your team is working together, Other things that I noted is that controls are simple to use as you go as a soldier. The hard thing is to get control of aeroplanes and helicopters, but once you get the control of those machines you will most likely to become a master of the art of piloting. The Bad thing or maybe good for the enemy is that it takes a while to discover from where are the bullets coming, and even if you realize you will die, so the best is run for your live !

In my opinion the best battlefield ever created. The physiology of weapons is very good and reproduced faithfully to reality. The type of battle is very realistic, very similar to a real battle, this brings the game to be highly addictive. As for the graphics it is good but in my opinion is much improved. For fans of the FPS genre, a must-have title.

There are some issues in the game play that need tidying up like weapon balancing, bug fixing and the such and as I write the patch is being downloaded. That's what I call customer service. 10. Character movement and feel is inferior to Call of Duty. It is heavy and very slow.

There's little to make up from this game and I don't care about how graphically insane it is. Unplayable is just unplayable.

This game does warrant a demo and try and buy, however, let me warn everyone their service is lousy and it took them 6 months plus to clean out Bad Company 2 and that started off better than BF3. BF3 started off way worse...be warned it maybe a year and a dead community before it can be considered clean.

Dice never ceases to amaze me with their battlefield products and this is no exception. I've been playing battlefield games since 1942 was released and have always enjoyed that the development team actually DEVELOPS their game instead of using the same engine over and over with prettier lighting or slightly tweaking guns to reproduce ones used in previous games (HINT: Call of Duty). EvenDice never ceases to amaze me with their battlefield products and this is no exception. I've been playing battlefield games since 1942 was released and have always enjoyed that the development team actually DEVELOPS their game instead of using the same engine over and over with prettier lighting or slightly tweaking guns to reproduce ones used in previous games (HINT: Call of Duty). Even though it has the Frostbite 2 engine, many of the buildings on urban based maps are static and inaccessible in anyway, but the ones that are, you can completely strip away the benefits of planting your four man squad in it and force your enemy to fight in the open instead of camping in a limited access area. I was still a little disappointed in the static environments though versus Bad Company 2 where you can make a completely new path by blowing out a hole in a building, running through it, and making another hole with your trusty grenade launcher in order to bypass tanks or dug in troops. There are still plenty of destructible buildings that you can drop on top of a not so bright enemy's head and many of the walls you use for cover and be chipped away with concentrated fire or a good ol' RPG. The infantry only maps are a lot more team based and bring back that tactical feeling from Battlefield 2 that Bad Company 2 left out with narrow choke points or large areas littered with lots of cover spots that a sneaky squad can navigate and snag a capture point right under the enemy's nose if you don't have a group watching over it. The vehicle combat is more or less the same as in Bad Company 2, but choppers are a helluva lot more powerful (even though they're still missile magnets) and the jets have more of a knife fighting, gun slinging, cut throat battlefield 1942 feeling instead of the "I got on your tail so you're automatically dead" combat from Battlefield 2. The open maps still give that sense of random happenings that you get from Battlefield games that just make it so much more enjoyable to play over the "run in and control this area to win" combat you see with most shooters today. I think Dice could've done better with the single player development though. There were parts that got your attention or made you feel like you were in that situation yourself, but the musical score is rather pathetic in variety and you can pretty much predict which tune will play at what time and in what situation after the first couple of levels. I'm not saying the solo campaign wasn't exciting, but they could've done much better on it. Overall, Battlefield 3 is worth every penny you spend on it even though the weapon unlocks is a little repetitive and the first release version is a little buggy with battlelog and it not liking running with certain programs (for me it's xfire, Battlefield 3 wont even start while I'm running it). 1)Very Good Campaign, Not incredible though.

Still, This game is a must for FPS fans!

I understand why they wanted to release it seeing as they need to compete with MW3 which even though it is a horrible piece of rebooted **** it would still beat BF3 anyway due to the large amound of 12 year old **** who play it. Multi player is all I have played on Battlefield 3 so far. I don't really have much interest in the campaign. After Bad Company 2 I kind of know what to expect with the quality of the campaign. As I said, when it works it fun. The most fun I've had in BF3 is with vehicles. Helicopters are a lot of fun to play with as are tanks. I can't get my head around jets. They just dont do it for me and I suck with them. The class' are balanced and progression is even throughout them. Although the support class makes me rage like crazy. All support players do is spam mortars and the light machine guns. On line modes are fun and there is a good variety of maps to play on. Graphics are top notch and the environments look great. I recommend battlefield 3 to anyone who likes a good team based competitive shooter. Hopefully the game will be fixed within the next few months. Expand

The huge scale is just stellar when compared to MW3, and the vehicles and destructible environment are the cream on top. The game modes are all fun, but Conquest and Rush stand out from the rut that is TDM and FFA that most games fall into. BF has been one of the few game series that successfully broke that mold.

There are a few glitches (engi exploit, and some hacks), which are soon to be patched, and some annoying things (flashlights, IRNV) which are also rumored to be being "fixed". Overall though, this game just works, and works well. Also, the web interface, profile, and stat tracker work almost flawlessly, which MW3's Elite does not even come close to doing.

This game succeeds in every way that MW3 fails and does better most of what MW3 does well. Unless you want to play TDM, BF3 is where it's at.

I greatly enjoyed playing the other games in the franchise, particularly 1942 and Vietnam as I would play the vs bot modes with my friends for many hours. This latest version has a pretty dreadful 2 player only coop mode and no bot mode like the other games had. I find this disappointing. I admit I am not the best player in the world, nor the worst but I find the player vs player modes too frustrating on this game and get fed up of being killed without even seeing where the shot came from.

EA if you want to see what consumer base you are missing out on having as customers, look at world of warcraft for example. It is a game with both player vs computer and player vs player modes. Which is more popular? Player vs computer.

This is made all the more frustrating by the fact this game looks incredible, sounds incredible, has great vehicles and weapons. Unless I am willing to partake in the steepest learning curve ever and get repeatedly destroyed by some 'uber' 13 year old I am basically unable to take advantage of this.

This makes this game the most frustrating currently in existence.

I doubt ANYONE played these games for the single player, no matter what the critics say it has no influence in the sales and quality of each game in this day in age. They know what they are and thats a MP experience and if you wanna try support the single player, then you obviously haven't played any other proper single player experience this year as the market is littered with better experiences. Now back to battlefield 3, i'll start with a list of innovations in gameplay and graphics.... The destruction system, while flawed and not red faction, its still really immersive and realistic. Terrain deformation, bit of wall flying off wen trying to hide.... its insane who good it looks. I mean I see a bunch of enemies hold up in one area, fire a rocket above them and the building falls and kills them all. Like wow! It brings new levels of realism and immersion to the experience. The animation system they built is incredible, characters die, move, shoot, you name it, they do it so realistic its makes you stop a marvel at the true innovation they've incorporated here. Vehicles looks amazing, firing a tank in a wooded area and all the trees bend to the shockwave of the force from the cannon.... WHAT GAME DOES THIS! So amazing to watch. Small little innovations to gameplay also to balance the experience are implemented like flashlight blindings, laser sights so blind snipers out of their camping poistion, not to mention the lense flare if the sniper point in scope at you specifically. All these little things help push the genre forward.

The sound in this game is unrivaled by ANY game. Just amazing, I feel like I'm in a real battlefield from start to finish of a map and it truly shows what can be done these days. This is the game you show to non-gamers to show them how far games have come and how much room for improvement a lot of games need to make to even come close to competitive with this great title. You can tell they put so much time and effort into a truly deep, immersive and NEW experience than its previous iterations. New engine = yes imo. DICE you've done it again 10/10

But Battlefield games have always been known for multiplayer and the huge scale of it so it is somewhat forgivable. Expand

Would have given this game a 9, because gameplay wise, it's excellent. I know it's not what a lot of people were expecting, a return to the slower BF2 style gameplay, it's still leaning more towards BC2's gameplay, and that has disappointed some people. Still, It's a blast to play. What really brings it down is Origin and Battlelog. I have no problem with Battlelog, it would just be niceWould have given this game a 9, because gameplay wise, it's excellent. Now, Origin, well I just prefer Steam, and I don't want to have games split between 2 clients. That and it's questionable TOS and EULA, and though they've revised both, the damage was done. All in all, excellent game, crappy system. Expand

Another great package from the Battlefield series, very deep story line and excellence execution in multiplayer. The only disappointment (BIG one) is that is only takes windows 7 which is really bad as I have to upgrade my Window XP into Win7 which I do not want to do. The bottom line is "All good except the Seven requirement"

The new Battlefield from EA Dice is just another prototype of generic shooter with high jumping graphics, excellent sounds effects and OST, Great gameplay with and incredible multiplayer mode but deficient IA, unforgettable story mode and so expensive to enjoy in maximum settings.

the ideal fps game, you get what you paid for with one and even more, all what you wish to find in fps game, single player was awesome and screw critics who said it wasn't and the quick time events were cinematic take on the game, a new approach which is good to see.and cant wait to get back to karkand.

This game is pure awesomenes in all categories! In the MP you can do just anything you want to. Fly some jets or help your team with some ground support with a helicopter. Or take out your heavy armor and destroy your enemy with a M1 Abrams tank. The choice is yours! You can do ANYTHING you want to. Plus you get total breath taking graphics and also pretty good realism! It's just amazingThis game is pure awesomenes in all categories! In the MP you can do just anything you want to. Therefore only a 9/10. Expand

Campaign is much better than Bad company 2, Graphics and effects are amazing! Strong and very addictive multiplayer. People complain about the interface being a web browser, it doesn't really bother me that much, as i didnt pay for a nice interface, i payed for a good game! and that's what i got! (PS: Infinity ward and activision will never get my money ever again since Fail Ops!)

It's all a matter of taste, after all. They each provide a certain type of entertainment – when talking about Battlefield 3, it involves a bigger game, more open in its possibilities and more spectacular. But on a longer timeline, less frantic and with fewer Bruce Willis scenes than the mass appeal beast it set itself to dethrone.

No, Battlefield 3 is not the best game of today. But good looking – definitely. It also has an absolutely addictive multiplayer. Who needs more? [Dec 2011]

Both a triumphant leap forward and a return to form for the Battlefield series. This is the best multiplayer shooter on PC. [Christmas 2011, p.58]
