A youthful Assassin, Shao Jun, fled to the West to complete her training under the legendary Assassin Ezio Auditore in the animated short Assassin’s Creed Embers and has returned, determined to restore the Chinese Brotherhood of Assassins. In Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China, players come back to Shao Jun’s story as she returns to China hell-bent on retribution. Her story takes players to famous locales including the Maijishan Grottoes, Port of Macau, the Forbidden City and the Great Wall of China. Armed with stealth, agility and a combination of deadly weapons and equipment including a sharp and swift jian, a secret shoe blade, lethal rope darts and daggers, players deliver payback to those who decimated the Chinese Brotherhood of Assassins. A stripped down stealth offering that reinvigorates Assassin's Creed by putting attention back on the sneaky stuff.

This spinoff doesn't need to hide in the shadows of the other titles of the series. This stealth 2D platformer is very motivating with diverse gameplay.

It's nice to take a break from the increasingly convoluted plot of the main storyline with a straightforward tale of revenge set in a historic corner of the world that often doesn't get a lot of attention in Western video games.
  4. Do you want to know what happened to Ezio's last apprentice? Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China is answer for this question. It's a clone of Mark of Ninja. It's still fun but it should release for mobile devices. It gives a new lore for Assassin's Creed fans.

An interesting game, despite its hangups and frustrating difficulty. [June 2015, p.64]
  6. To boil it down to the very basics: Chronicles is a platformer, a reincarnation of old Prince of Persia. There are no famous landmark, no intricate story involving multitude of historical personages. Even the weapons selection is very barebone. [June 2015, p.80]

Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China makes an attempt to renew the franchise, unfortunately it fails. Neither the stealth- or action sequences are particularly well-made and neither is the level design. To appreciate this you need to be a huge fan of the series.

In this game we play with Shao Jun, a character featured in AC: Embers (animated short that takes place after AC: Revelations). The game is fun and works well, with limitations in the setting and story due to the size / type of the game, but the art imitating a "drawing" is very interesting, a little disappointing because everyone expected this character and setting in a game of the franchise main, which can be a little difficult now since this game exists. A fun game for those who are a big fan, but if you are not totally a fan of the saga, other platform games will certainly be better. Expand

if you want a "2.5D" stealth game, play that instead of this.

Ubisoft, pkease, PLEASE, give the whole "Assassin's Creed" series a rest!
even fans DO_NOT_WANT a "new" game **** quality suffered greatly over the years and instead of some innovation, or fixing that broken "fighting-NON-system", you **** out at least one AC game every year, though it's been rather TWO games over the past years.

GIVE ASSASSIN'S CREED A REST - NOBODY WANTS MORE OF THE SAME, IT GETS OLD!
instead of this game, buy "Mark of the Ninja", for it it does everything better, than this game.
