Summary: This episode of Trading Spaces will feature yet another first: we will be redecorating rooms in a women's shelter outside of Little Rock, Ark. We have four very enthusiastic and deserving teammates on this one. Joyce and Vebra are staff members at CASA, Inc., a shelter serving women who are seeking to escape abusive relationships. Joyce andThis episode of Trading Spaces will feature yet another first: we will be redecorating rooms in a women's shelter outside of Little Rock, Ark. We have four very enthusiastic and deserving teammates on this one. Joyce and Vebra are staff members at CASA, Inc., a shelter serving women who are seeking to escape abusive relationships. Joyce and Vebra not only work at the shelter, but they are on call several days a week and live there part time. Vebra, a former victim of abuse, decided to make women's advocacy her life's work after she received help getting out of an abusive relationship. She now spends her time helping other women reclaim control over their lives. Together, she and Joyce will redecorate a room in the "residents" side of this very large house, which is in need of some TLC.
On the other team are Tammy and Leslie, two women who currently reside at the shelter. Fun-loving, funny and amazingly upbeat considering their life experiences, they both are big fans of the show and can't wait to trade spaces and redecorate over on the staff side of the house. Designers Doug Wilson and Little Rock native Laura Day pitch in for this special episode. Carter Oosterhouse will handle the carpentry projects, and no matter how good the cause, host Paige Davis is still going to insist that we finish on time and under budget. Plus, we have a few surprises of our own that will make the teams' holiday season brighter, more colorful and a whole lot more comfortable and stylish. No one deserves it more than these courageous women who are transforming lives — their own and the lives of women who come in contact with them at the shelter on their way back up. Trading Spaces will make this safe haven a more beautiful space for the women living there, just in time for the New Year.… Expand
