Bardzo dobrze zagrany, pięknie nakręcony (zdjęcia!), świetnie udźwiękowiony. Naprawdę warty obejrzenia, ale nie dla każdego. Jestem fanem opowiadań Sapkowskiego i oceniam jako fan. Adaptacja udana, bo dodaje coś od siebie. PS. Walki! Są przekozackie!

Horrible casting, horrible acting and an absolutely incoherent story. I like the game, but these fan boys raving over this pile of crap is mind boggling. Most of them 12 year old males no doubt (or equal in mentality). Every actor in this series is totally forgettable. The fight scenes are pretty good, but short and better watched on youtube. If you have any taste at all-I'd seriously avoid.

Season 1 accurately captured the tone and style of the first book in the series and successfully adapted it for TV. While not perfect, the cast and crew came as close as possible with the budget they had to work with. Henry Caville and Anya Chalotra captured Geralt and Yennefer in brilliant performances. I thoroughly enjoyed Season 1 and am looking forward to the future seasons being released.

Ruining the story with race-swapping. Removing red heads from the story.
Slow. Boring. The evil people not intimidating at all. Pathetic change of armor on soldiers. Stupid and useless people all around. Battle tactics nowhere to be seen.

If only it had also received the same love and polish that went into making the game. From the start, Henry Cavill does justice to Geralt of Rivia, as he plays the monotone white wolf like we know him. He is quick and smart with his answers, and follows a code: He only kills monsters. The world around him constantly challenges him to make a choice, usually making him endure scolding or a tragedy.

The acting in this show is quite good! Yennefer has her own character arc, and lives up to become the mysterious, beautiful and charismatic sorceress that steals Geralt's (and the viewer's) heart. Ciri appears, and her tumultuous youth and escape from cintra shape her early story. As characters go, the show is spot on! The Witcher show takes some liberties with the lore though, by downright breaking it. If anyone knows anything about the localisation in the Witcher universe, they would know that dark skinned people are from kovir. In the show however, it's a freaking lottery. Random people in the kingdoms, and even Fringilla Vigo and Vilgefortz, are dark skinned even though they are clearly not from Kovir origin. This was clearly a choice by the showrunner on purpose to make the cast more 'politically correct' and 'progressive.' Such a shame, as this could have been achieved without breaking the lore. The time line in this show is all over the place. At first you might think these events happen at the same time, but that's not the case at all. Yennefer's arc actually starts over 30 years before the scenes with Geralt, and the parts with Ciri are many years after those with Geralt. As there's no mention of it at first, this will be rather confusing for many who don't know the lore.

I have to say, a lot of the sets look rather fake. It has this overly clean and new look to it that makes it look off. Had the production team tried to make it look more worn, it would have been more atmospheric and immersive.

And something that dissapointed me about the season is the small amount of times Geralt actually fights a monster. Episode 4 and 6 both start with Geralt having already killed something, and not showing the battle. As a positive though, the show tries to use as little CGI for the monsters as possible, which i think greatly improves immersion.

As you can tell, the show has positives and negatives. But in the end the show is quite entertaining to watch, and as a Witcher game enthusiast i can recommend it to people who have a interest coming from the games.

Upon finishing the first season i was already excited for the second one, and i think Netflix is heading in the right direction with this. What needs to improve though is the inclusion of more monster fights, the sets need to look more realistic, and give this show a bigger budget. I give this season a 7/10. It is a good show!

I understand that following three timelines can be somewhat confusing for people unfamiliar with the universe especially during first 3 episodes. But I feel that it's well worth the payoff that comes when these three stories start to interweave and finally converge in the last episode. This structure of the first season works well with the whole "destiny" theme and manages combine separate stories defining the characters and create a foundation for the main story of the book series that will be shown in the following seasons.
My only major problem with the story is the whole Brokelon forest arc which was poorly executed and without Geralt there served no purpose other then being something for Ciri to do so her timeline wouldn't have be dropped completely while the show focused on Geralt and Yen.
And I think Henry Cavil did an excellent job, Geralt's 'hmmm'-s couldn't be more on point.

I have seen the first three episodes and so far i think it's more than good. I'm very weak for high fantasy and gothic styles and that's something that the series circles around. I have played the game (Never read the books though) but is more interested in lore and geography. For those who are new in the Witcher world it can be messy to under where they are as Ciri is in Cintra, Yennefer in Aedirn while Geralt is in Redania, Kaedwen and in the third episode Temeria. That something that Game of Thrones did right they presented the regions first and their nature so the viewer always knew where they were. The character's journeys feels very distant from each other and it feel more like we watch three different shows at the same time. Yen's back story revealed is both good and bad. It's kind of what one expected of Yen and very fitting but on the same time is the mystery around the character gone. When it's come to casting non-white characters don't really bother me that much especially on the less relevant characters but they shouldn't do that on Triss who is very relevant and she look nothing like the canon. The show also lacks the slavic representation that the games did good. In conclusion i like the three main characters. All has good stories and the acting is very good. I also like the high fantasy theme and that the world is circled around magic. They need to explain where the character is and make the stories closer so we acrually watches one show and not three show on the same time

Pretty good tv show. I had some reservations initially when I saw that Henry Cavill was cast as Geralt of Rivia but after seeing the entire first season, I have to admit that he really does a good job at being the Witcher. He nailed his voice and character really well. I am comparing this to the Witcher game series. I haven't read the books yet.

A lot of people might compare this to Game of Thrones but this is completely different. It's mostly based on the eastern and central Europe slavic culture. There are a lot of grey areas than Game of Thrones, as someone from the show said there are no good or bad choices but just evil and lesser evil choices.

When in a lot of other shows, especially Game of Thrones or Lord of the Rings, the characters are very idealized, in this show the characters are much more human, each which their own flaws, strengths and weaknesses. Each character in the show is trying to live his own life according to his own agenda.

The world looks stunning. It is beautifully filmed and constructed. The views are amazing. So are the battles. Usually you only see a handful of big battles in tv shows. Not in this one, there are plenty of battles.

Which brings me to the actual fights in the show. They are really amazing. Especially the sword fights. Henry Cavill as Geralt really has some amazing moves. He really trained for this role and he nailed it pretty well.

Now on to the other characters. Most of the actors seem like a really good match for the character they are portraying. I liked Yennefer and Ciri especially. Sure, in the games she might look a bit more sexy and more beautiful, but in the tv show she seems more real and human. Ciri was portrayed perfectly by the actor. She is supposed to be young and innocent in tv show. In the games, Ciri is older and trained by Geralt and Yennefer. The timeline in the games is set after the timeline in the tv show. Jaskier in the tv show is Dandelion from the games. He has a different name because of how you can translate his original name from polish to english. In polish he is named after a flower which is translated to buttercup in english. This doesn't sound really well so the authors of the game series decided to change it to Dandelion. In the tv show, they just named him directly from polish without translating his name. And the actor who plays him, portrays him perfectly. He is supposed to be quite annoying, a real women charmer and with some really funny/sarcastic jokes from time to time. He also has a very good chemistry with Geralt, and they suit one another really well.

Then comes Yennefer. In the tv show, Yennefer is shown in her beginnings and before the timeline in the Witcher game series. Which explains why she is a bit more naive and she still has a lot to learn. But towards the end of the first season of the tv show, she evolves and becomes more like the Yennefer we used to know in the games. I do admit though that the actress seems a bit too dark skinned and skinny for the role, but other than that she is a pretty good match. The actress nailed her character pretty well with her sarcastic and ironic remarks towards Geralt.

On the other hand the actress which portrays Triss is only a decent match for her. She is supposed to be a red head but in the show she is way to dark skinned with dark hair. They could have done a better job her. It's one of the reasons why I am giving the show only a 9 out of 10.

The rest of the cast is pretty well thought out. I like that a lot of the side cast really does look like people in medieval eastern Europe skinny, malnourished, simple minded peasants or like the upper elite of the society in those times or like brutish savages.

The story honestly is more brutal and darker than even Game of Thrones. A lot of atrocious things happen in the show. The world portrayed in it, is brutal and full of conflicts, betrayal and death. No one is sparred this reality. This is more like a dark fantasy show. On the other hand, even in this grim world, some light, decency and nobility still manages to shine through. Which makes it even more interesting and fascinating. The way it is told is a bit unusual, the events are not told in the order that they happen. But I kind of like this, it keeps you intrigued and forces you to pay attention to understand everything better. I was scared initially that it will be some kind of tv drama centered around the royal courts, castles and palaces but it was far from it. I also like that it has just the right amount of drama. Not too much nor too little compared to other show like Game of Thrones.

I really don't know why a lot of people and especially critics gave it such a low score. Some of the "critic" reviews I just read are utter crap. Some wanna be critic only watched 2 episodes and said it was crap? How pretentious. This just proves how little we should pay attention to these so called critics. This is a pretty darn good tv show.

The main issue I felt, was they took the first episode and wrote it in a way that it was only meant for people that have some knowledge of the existing story. They rushed a ton of the story within the first episode and kinda felt like the movies "van helsing" or "the brothers grim". Not terrible but not good. And lets be real, This show is suppose to be at least a 9/10, not a MEH.

I wanted to give 7 but for a brilliant ending 2 episode (yes I am after 2 episode) and a penny, 'Drop a penny to a witcher', I give 8. It's worth watching with good English dialogues and inscriptions in the native language.

After 2 episodes I played better than after the entire 8th season of Game of Thrones. Cavil is brilliant. The 8 for the fact that the actors are not equal. Good

Renri, Calante I can't convince Ciri and the rest without expression. And the actor playing Dandelion has a problem because he'll sing, but somehow I don't like it but this song again ...

You can see that this is not the Game of Thrones budget yet but the series has potential.

If you are a casual viewer of tv that rather listen in the background (nothing wrong with that) you’ll hate this show. While the books aren’t GoT levels of co fusing the show can be. No spoilers but there are three timelines going on at the same time:

    Geralt of Rivia
    Yennefer of Vengenberg
    Cirilla princess if Cintra

Cirilla’s story of what we’ll call present times. Geralt’s is before that and spans decades
Yennefer’s is before and spans about 40 years or so

It’s disarming because Geralt and Yenn don’t age. The show does address this and is very easy to follow if you have read the books or pay attention to the very subtle clues as to the time period. Small quips like “those crows feet are new”(referring to someone’s eyes) is sometimes all you get to distinguish the timeframe. But other then that the show is amazing. Cavill nails Geralt and should win an award. Yen’s actress is also awesome with a level of menace and subduction in her voice and actions. It filled the sword of destiny and the last wish while making small changes here and there and accomplishes what those books did. This season manages to tackle world and lore building while using Ciri’s journey As the backdrop to further the overall plot. All in all a fantastic show

Henry Cavill is the actor who plays the role of Geralt of Rivia. To my knowledge he too is a big fan of the Books written by Andrzej Sapkowski and the Video Games made by CDProject Red. I'm not one to usually write reviews. But I think that this series will need someone who will see it with an open mind. I've read almost all of the books except for one, that book being Season of Storms, and played the 3rd video game three times over. Needless to say, I am a fan.

That being said, for newcomers expecting this Netflix Series to best Game of Thrones.... It has potential but that may be stretching it a bit. But even as a fan of the Witcher book series even more so than that of A Song of Ice and Fire (GoT book Series) I couldn't help but compare it to Game of Thrones first season. But it is NOT GoT! If you have begun to watch it and haven't liked it so far in comparing it to an initially beloved and eventually divisive show (GoT), maybe this brief synopsis of my interpretation and OPINION will help to alleviate that feeling and give you a more refreshing look on the show.

The Characters in this series are compelling. I have always enjoyed Geralt's travels on the path, Yennefer's development from a hunch back into the impressively powerful sorceress, and delving into the mysticism of Ciri's bloodline. The moral ambiguity of each story told and the choice, or lack there of, that is made by the characters is riveting. The world-building done by Sapkowski was very well crafted, so it is my hope that continuing forward the show pulls from its abundant amount of source material.

People will complain about anything they can. Whether it be the sometimes awkward CGI, Cavill's wig, "Forced Feminism" (which I have seen in other posts), or any manner of things. But all-in-all I've never cared much for the sometimes shotty CGI or other mishaps, that'll happen in shows. I find more interest in the stories that are told. And on the "Forced Feminism" I myself don't indulge in the ideologies of either Feminism or MRA, maybe a little of both as kind of a non-partisan take on it all. There was an onslaught of Feminist remarks made within almost every scene. Does this really take away from the story? Yes. Was it needed? No. Personally I just try desperately to ignore it. But it keeps pushing proto-feminism down your throat rather than to actually give you a compelling story. I enjoy Strong female characters and Yennefer's and Ciri's stories are truly fascinating. In the books, for the most part, we were always kind of told those stories in the background with Geralt's travels and thoughts in the foreground. I like that the show acknowledges each characters stories and how it ties together in unison, pulling each story together rather than making them feel like separate entities within the same universe. But this is second to the feminist agenda of the scriptwriters. And the story itself suffers despite the great idea of melding these stories together.

There has been a lot of focus on the people that have surrounded Geralt's life. Namely Yennefer and Ciri. And it appears to be building towards their intertwined destiny, to have incredible influence on one another and become a "family" of sorts. And each of their stories is GREAT, don't get me wrong. I'm not sure how many seasons Netflix plans on making for this show, but if its less than 4, then the pacing seems a little...off? I've watched every episode and Its like its too fast in some places, while all together too slow in others. Again, I believe this to be the fault of the screenwriters forcing an agenda on an otherwise compelling and captivating story that did not need it. And neither did its fans.

If you are someone who is comparing it to Game of Thrones, I can understand how hard it can be not to. I was disappointed in GoT final season and have developed a critical and comparing sight myself for any show that has entered my eye holes since then. Needless to say, I think the Witcher fills that fantasy niche that my heart was looking for after the devastating blow that was Season 8 of GoT. Now as to whether The Witcher will satiate my want for an absolute masterpiece of a series... more needs to be seen in future seasons, but this season so far is simply WATCHABLE. Its interesting although not entirely true to the source material, that's all it needs to be at this moment. But there is far too much focus on promoting ideals than there is on alignment to the actual story.

From the first season onwards, changes must be made. People giving it a 0 may merely be too critical, or as Cavill said they are simply VERY PASSIONATE about a series they love. I hope that those people will be able to set aside the shows flaws and try as I have to indulge into the truly epic tale that Netflix is trying to tell. And given the source material it has the potential to be one, IF THE POLITICAL AGENDA IS SET ASIDE!

I feel that the opportunity to make a truly great tv show based on the Witcher universe is utterly wasted. There are also several inconsistencies regarding worldbuilding and the geography of the Continent and the timeline is kinda broken. The writing is average and cringy sometimes, the performances are decent for the most part, Cavill is good as Geralt, Chalotra didn't really convince me as Yen, and Allan is alright I guess. I can't say the show overall is bad, but for a guy that has read the books before the show, it just wasn't enough, the books are a 9/10 where the show is a 6/10. Overall, I enjoyed every single episode, less the first two episodes, and loved the third and the last one the most. The CGI needs some work, sometimes it looks like bad, unpolished effects. And it seems the background music missed from certain moments. Music is important to add emotions to a moment/story. I wish Marcin Przybyłowicz was involed in the show, too bad NETFLIX didn't reach him. And I must say I am not entirely satisfied with the cast, especially Fringilla. You can see no good acting neither, but I‌ could live with that if at least the creators of the show would have tried to make the characters look like they are coming from an age where they were fighting with swords and magic. Like Game of Thrones attempted, where people are sometimes dirty and disgusting. Here nothing feels disgusting as even the protagonist is kind of a weird version of Barbie’s bf: Ken and the crippled girl in the second episode is basically Penelope Cruz with something in her mouth and some wadding under her clothes at her shoulders so she looks like Penelope Cruz dressed as Quasimodo for Haloween. It’s hard to let go that right in the first episode, first second you can see Gerald, the Witcher jumping like flying while you can be sure he’s in a studio connected to a rope in front of a green screen and as he struggles with the monster you can see the absolute worst CGI of 2019, in such a big title. His clothes are also more of an amateur comic con version and I'm pretty sure some has a better one, on the actual comic con. A good fantasy doesn’t have a bard singing Robbie Williams/bar style songs in the local pub and it requires tons more of careful touch to make it feel realistic and rich in it’s world. That includes well-chosen real locations, scenery, good lines of characters, so it won’t feel like it’s the 9 trillionths random cheap Netflix show. Expand

Simply put here are some reasons to avoid watching this embarrassment of a show:

    - Really weak & cringe worthy dialogue
    - The Showrunner clearly cares more about diversity than being true to the source material
    - The best scenes are with Geralt in fight scenes, which you'll barely see anyway because this show is 75% about the women and their stories.

This is just another example of a great story being **** ruined by a moron in Lauren Hissrich.

It's WAY too much emphasis on the female characters... The Witcher is unique in that it's writing in the source material is SO GOOD that you already have established powerful female characters that aren't obnoxiously over the top and in your face.

But of course, its 2019 so that's not enough, they have to make every little moment about how women are stronger, can overcome anything, and are inherently better than all men apparently.

They've basically butchered Yen... & that leads me to another point.... Casting:

    - Black Fringilla
    - Black Eithne & Brokilon forest women are black
    - Mixed race Triss
    - half Indian Yen

Are you taking the piss? ALL of these characters are supposed to be **** white, clearly listed as "PALE" in the source material.

But it's 2019, and you're not allowed too many white people in the same room otherwise it's racist apparently... The casting choices for this are an absolute disgrace & are just so immersion breaking it's ridiculous.

I feel bad for Henry Cavil, he is literally carrying this whole show on his shoulders & clearly is the only person that gives a **** about his character or the story.

Now I am hooked. I can't stop watching it, and it's making me want to read the books. Superb acting not just by Henry Caville, but the whole cast. Great story telling. Great fighting and impressive screen play. One of my major pet peeves are rushed shows and corny acting. I was also worried that this was going to be a show pressured to scratch that "game of thrones" itch, and would suffer trying to be too ambitious. Instead, what I've found is a show done right, and it stands on its own.

I have to give Caville a lot of credit- he captures Geralt of Rivia exactly as I would picture him. You can tell he not only did his homework, but cleary has an interest in the games and/or books. So well done!

My only minor annoyance is that there are some details that aren't explained and makes the assumption you know what's going on. The fourth episode in, I was royally confused as to what was going on, because I didn't realize right away that we were going back and forth in time to tell the story, and what was going on with the characters in some of the scenes. I suppose though, this is what makes me want to read the books now and replay the games!

REALLY looking forward to this series continuing, and I urge everyone to watch it!

I don't understand why the show runners wanted to tell a story in three different time lines. Was confusing at first too me but, I mange to figure it out. I still need to read the books. Mainly played the games which take place right after the books. Henry really brings out Gault and she his acting chops and skill so he wont be tight cast as Superman. The supporting cast ready shine.

Отличный сериал. Посмотрел залпом не отрываясь , с нетерпением жду продолжение. Ожидал худшего. Тяжело по-началу привыкнуть к актерскому составу, но потом уже перестаешь замечать.

Yennefer and Triss' casting was not good at all in my opinion. Tried being an interesting character in the books and games came across as nothing but unimportant and a throw away character. Fringilla Vigo was also another character who I quite enjoyed from the books and movies but together with a bad choice of casting and a complete personality change, she also didn't stand out either. This as you might know comes down to the politics of the creators of the series. Back from when they put the casting call for Ciri for BAME actresses, i knew this would be a let down, and i was mostly right. I love the Witcher franchise so it's a shame for its legacy to be tainted with people trying to push their politics onto the fans of the series. They just had to follow the source material and the fans would love it, so it's a shame it is getting such a mixed reception. Let this show and the many others who have suffered the same fate be a lesson to those who think they can smear a well loved franchise to push a political agenda. Expand

Хороший сериал. Небогатый, есть вопросы к.. кхм... афро-эльфам.
Жалко что Нетфликс не решилась выделить денег как следует. Но отсмотрел не отрываясь, а это хорошо.

Thought the monster effects and fight scenes were excellent the time jumps in the story were well done gave a feeling to how it must be for someone who lives for centuries in this universe

The Witcher is a faithful adaptation to the core of the source material (the book series of the same title) and strikes an enjoyable balance of a thoughtful show and spectacle. But rest assured the Witcher is a fantastic show with plenty to enjoy and a lot to offer you n multiple viewings. The actors portray their roles with respect and passion for the characters they embody. The action is tense and brutal and the magic hits the screen without seeming cheesy or ridiculous, I’m looking forward to season 2. Expand

I would give the series 10 points, because this is a good series, I would even say excellent, but why would you push black people to the left and right? this is Poland and this Slovak fantasy there couldn’t be black people there

The only character I like on this show is Geralt of Rivia being portrayed by Henry Cavill. Jaskier (Dandelion) is alright and Yennefer is okay. I’m not sure what books these folks read that are giving the show a zero rating? Many of the user reviews say the show is too much of a departure from the source material. Who cares if they jumble the stories around to make more sense for a show.

What I believe these people mean is that they are angry the show wasn’t cast “white enough”. Yennefer isn’t the pale sorceress as described in the books, Triss is changed to a person of color. There are many others I suppose. I think the cast was great! NONE of the changes effect the story in any way, shape or form. I maybe would have an issue with the main character being changed because his look is so iconic at this point.

My actual score is an 8 for the show, but to help offset the spammed zero scores I’m giving it a 10. The acting is GREAT. I can’t think of one actor who didn’t do fantastic. The storytelling moves a bit slow and feels disjointed at times, I would think especially for those unfamiliar with the books. The lighting and color grading are very good and consistent.

The effects are mostly good. All are high enough quality for a show like this. The practical effects are superb (the Striga fight!) but the cgi is a mixed bag. Cgi creatures are passable for the most part, but if you are hoping for GOT level Dragons and cgi you will be disappointed. The atmospheric and environmental cgi effects are fantastic, however. From the spell effects to the depiction of terrain and strongholds, it’s all top quality.

Hopefully the show is set for a second season right away and they can improve upon what they have created here, which is solid.

I did not expect much from it.
But i really was suprised, dialogs are good, Cavill is quite convincing, colors and filters are eyecatcing.
Still, there is no feling of slavic culture, it is an american tv show and whether you like or not....well, it is. Yet in my opinion pros is much better thatn cons. I have not read books just played witcher game and did not expected characters to be

it's good... surely worth its production and I believe it will get better and better in the future seasons, keeping in mind that it was a tough introductory season, what next is the best.
unless they ignored what the audiences are saying.

Played the video games, love the show, planning to read the books. I expect most reviews don't get what is great about this show. I expect it will be a success regardless. Very true to the tone of the games.

Really good adaptation and nice introduction to the world of the witcher !
The serie kept its promise and build up throughout the episodes and announce the best for next seasons.
To watch without looking for a witcher 3 cosplay parade. Furthermore, please ignore people complaining about colored people in medieval poland, this is still a fictional world with portals and stuff, who knows

As a mindless fantasy rollercoaster, Geralt’s journey is five stars all the way to tea-time. Sadly, for those who like brains with their brawn, it may be more of a slog.

It takes a while for viewers to learn how these characters are connected, via an exasperating Westworld-esque narrative knot that takes much of the season to unfurl. ... The Witcher heightens our confusion by fumbling details that would have helped it set a cohesive tone. Dialogue vacillates, from line to line, between theatrical fantasy-speak and modern colloquialisms (“Dragons are, in fact, a thing!”).
