Only time will tell as to how the rest of the season will play out, but the first four episodes provide a promising start, setting up bigger stakes – not an easy feat when you consider what happened in season 1. Episode 4 ends on a major cliffhanger that indicates things are poised to kick up several notches once the back half of season 2 begins rolling out, and it’s to the immense credit of the creative team that anybody with even a passing interest in The Wheel of Time will be desperate to see how it all shakes out. The Wheel of Time goes too far and often obscures much that was great about the original. That said, the cast acquit themselves well. Female characters are especially vividly drawn – including junior Aes Sedai members Nynaeve (Zoë Robins), Egwene (Madeleine Madden) and their new fellow student, Princess Elayne (Ceara Coveney). It's those conversations, and the nagging feeling these conversations aren’t going anywhere interesting, hamper any momentum “The Wheel of Time” wishes to build. Even at the end of the four episodes provided for review, the characters still seem like they’re licking their wounds from the first season, the writers shuffling characters from place to place in a kind of narrative fantasy limbo. This season is much better put together and tru to the books. It has so many Easter eggs. I've seen the first 3 episodes twice already and still haven't caught them all. Just brilliant!

As a book fan, season 2 is a major improvement upon the good things of season 1. These are the characters that we love. This feels like the world that Robert Jordan built. The episodes have woven emotionally compelling narratives that grip you and don't let you go until the end credits roll.As a book fan, season 2 is a major improvement upon the good things of season 1. More character-driven, detailed & vaster with better writing, world-building, cinematography, action & VFX, Wheel of Time S2 outdoes its precursor in all departments. A considerable achievement making it a contender to be one of the best fantasy shows in recent times.

Massive improvement on S1, and even though the story veers far from the books, it's enjoyable. Some of the stuff that is show-only is really enjoyable. Better production, characterization, lightning, filming, costuming... Basically every department was improved.

Did I write that nothing makes sense? Because the fact that with the books the series has nothing to do but names I don't think I need to mention. But it tells us a lot about the creators of this crap... Seson 1 was 5/10, this one is pure garbage, it's not for book fans, nor is it for casual viewers with more than two brain cells...… Expand
