Is Fuller House cheesy? Yes. But, is it a bad show? No. The first episode of the series wasn't very good, but as the series leads on, it gets a lot better. This show has it ups and downs, but to any fan of Full House, it is likely worth it. It has a good cast and some fun plot ideas.

I was pleasantly surprised then when I found that, buried behind a number of poorly timed and very predictable quips, there were actually several laugh-out-loud moments in each episode. I watched the show growing up, but I wasn't particularly attached to it. The 90's style sitcom tropes are prevalent throughout, meaning that only about 30-40% of the one-liners are actually intelligent or funny, but the ones that do land are what make the show worth watching. I'm saying this as someone who's not overly attached to the way that every episode seems to end with a heartfelt confession, someone saying "I love you guys", and a group hug as the "audience" sighs. That aspect of the show has always grated on me. As a side note, this show is much more mature than it was before- the show was once a squeaky clean white-bread America sitcom, but it's more edgy now, with a small bit of profanity, anatomical references, and sexual comments meant to go over the heads of kids. I wouldn't go so far as to call it a PG-13 show, but it's definitely not rated G. Expand

The show is at it's strongest when focusing on the new family and returning characters and overused catchphrases often distract from that. Special mention has to be made to Carly Rae Jepsen who did a fantastic job with the opening theme. Overall the show does a good job of keeping the spirit of the original series in tact. The Pilot does comes off as fairly corny but I recommending sticking with it as once the show starts focusing on the main cast and doing it's own thing it does get better. Expand

Do not listen to the critic reviews. This is a thorough entertaining show: light, funny and enthusiatic. I was a big fan of the show in the 80s. This reboot was very much to my liking.

The show is a TOUCH bit dirtier since they aren't on network TV anymore, but still extremely family-friendly. It's been modernized in good ways, cheesy in good ways, and most important: fun. It's tiring to watch so many serious shows like Walking Dead. Whatever happened to predictability, as the original theme song says? It's a refreshing candy-coated break, and I welcome it. This show is not as bad as people say it is! As a Full House fan I really love it. It's hilarious at times and though cheesy in the beginning gets better. Honestly I think Critics are only hating on it to hate on it! The opening theme also isn't as bad. It's actually extremely catchy.

Well for starters, it would be really nice since this is a show for kids if Jodie Sweetin would not wear tops that have her "girlfriends" hanging out. There's no reason for that at all in a show aimed towards kids. It's even distracting to the adults in my family as she looks periously close to a "wardrobe malfunction" Also I did not appreciate the "double entendre" jokes written in ostensibly to entertain the adult audience as well as the kid audience. We don't need that as adults....it is a transparent device and frankly, the jokes are annoying, not that funny, and sometimes actually cringeworthy. This show could have been an enjoyable reboot to people who grew up watching it, as well as a new generation. By trying to be all things to all people, mixing humor styles, and not allowing the main characters to coalesce without being interrupted every episode by prior cast members (no matter how nice it is to see them...but every time? It would be better just to write a couple of them in as regular cast members) I wanted to like it but it's frankly a mess and by stopping halfway between the original and between a fully developed interesting sequel that doesnt depend all that much on the previous show it's ended up unfortunately being mediocre. Too bad because I always liked this show, and the actors. . Expand

Fuller House is not much of an evolution of Full House. It's not smarter, or less cute, or bigger in scope. It doesn't break new ground or even redeem any of Full House's faults; it's merely a continuation of the universe that Full House left behind, with some added boob jokes.

I don't know why people expected this to be anything more than a cheesy nostalgic reminder. It's not high art.

It's more adult oriented (probably bc the writers know their chief audience are millennials), and the writing is sharper, wittier, and the jokes hit more than they miss. The three main female leads (Cameron-Bure, Sweetin, and Barber) fill their roles effortlessly, and their line delivery is spot on. Sweetin is especially good. Maybe it's because I expected nothing, but I am impressed with how funny this show turned out to be. I say, give it a chance & watch at least 3 episodes. The child actors are in constant contact with sexual innuendos(I mean TONS) made by both the adults and in their own child-to-child conversations.
The jokes are delivered worse than a Disney Channel sitcom, with horrible actors performing cringeworthy dialogue.
Not to mention the fact that the scenarios are in no way rooted in reality and the writers give no attempt to make up for this shortcoming.

I never watched the original Full House(being only 22 today) but I have watched a few episodes with my parents over the years and I can say it was much, much better than this reboot. The fact that this is the finished product and the producers decided it was good enough for TV just tells of the times. Everything is based on nostalgia. The laziness of retelling old jokes that worked decades ago is taken in place of smart jokes that go with the times.

If you enjoyed the original series I would not even bother checking out an episode of this show.
