This episode is at Fulbeck Hall located in Grantham in Lincolnshire. The owners of the Hall, Michael and Mary Fry, are changing rooms with their lodgers Mick Dixon and Sally Brown.

Michael & Mary open most of their rooms to the public so they want their bedroom to be a safe retreat. Fulbeck Hall has been in Mary's family since the 1600s but they don't necessarily want it to look that way. Mary runs the hall as a business and Michael is an artist.
Mick & Sally are in the flat upstairs. They are both musicians who met 7 years ago in Tyneside when they were in a hillbilly band. She is an artist and he is a guitar maker. They want their sitting room redone.

Linda Barker assists the owners with the lodgers sitting room. They want to incorporate Mick & Sally's love of music into the room. Linda asks Andy to create a bench from scrap timber. Andy definitely sees it as a challenge. They use an uneven effect on the ceiling and the walls. They give the ceiling a cloudy sky effect. Linda gets a sun face and copies it onto transparency paper. They use an overhead projector to copy it onto the walls. Since Michael is an artist, there's no problem with the task. Michael also freehands another drawing on the wall -- the bridge of a violin.
Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen helps the lodgers with the owners' bedroom. They want to put a circular design on the ceiling to take away from the squareness of the room. They also use a cloudy sky effect. The paint for the walls is a very cheery yellow. They run into a potential problem when they lift up the floor rug. The floor under the rug is not polished. They will just have to stain it to help match the rest of the floor. Laurence uses a stencil along the top of the walls to accentuate the height of the room. He reuses their curtains, but puts a black backing on them to give them a different look.
