Fans of Swery will no doubt lap this up, quirks and all, but I just could not get on with the game at all. Every time I thought I had finally turned a corner with it some other nonsense turned up that put me right back at square one. Overloaded with poorly implemented decent ideas, this is a one for truly dedicated players only.- Xbox Tavern

Releasing a PC game on console can work great, but some concessions have to be made for the differing audiences and control schemes. The core gameplay loop is more than capable of holding interest and has been put to great effect in recent games, but here, every opportunity is wasted. If you enjoy obscure interfaces, slow fiddly combat, and dated visuals, then please, fill your boots.- Xbox Tavern

Calling Storm Boy interactive, while technically true, is a massive stretch here, almost as if it needed that definition to be allowed on the store. If you are in the market for a new tale to share with your little ones, you’d be better served picking up a copy of the book. The soundtrack is pleasant, the visuals have a charm to them, and the truncated story is sweet, but it’s all over in the blink of an eye.- Xbox Tavern

I can’t deny that the dev’s clearly wanted to put some heart into the game, but almost none of it pays off in any positive way. The character controls awfully, the powers are nonsensically strewn about, the Fourth wall-breaking jokes just highlight the poor game design instead of compliment it, and even those looking for an easy 1000g will likely be put off before they can reach it. While the aim may be to get to Earth, I’d suggest giving it a wide berth upon it landing.- Xbox Tavern

Madden 23 is a rehash of all the previous Madden‘s in the series. Bits and pieces were taken from those games and labelled as new. Even though FieldSENSE was refurbished I still strongly believe that it gave Madden 23 its shine. What good is that shine however when the game is covered with bugs and laziness? I’m not saying this game had to be perfect. Other sports simulation titles have their own share of problems. What separates Madden from them however is EA decides to mix the old problems with the new ones. Instead of fixing it, they go and do the same thing next year.- Xbox Tavern

Overall, if you want an old cartoon-style game that can give you quality platforming, stick to Cuphead, Enchanted Portals may look the part but it isn’t the part where it counts and it’s real use is to showcase to sceptics what makes its inspiration so good.- Xbox Tavern

Where the Bees Make Honey deserves some praise for its fantastical theme and its variation in play, that much has to be said. However, the whole ordeal is massively held back due to its sheer lack of difficulty and fluidity, together with its constantly persistent technical issues. There’s clearly some smart ideas running through the experience, but the complete absence of structural refinement makes it far too hard to bear, let alone enjoy.- Xbox Tavern

There really isn’t much to Stab Stab Stab!. There visuals aren’t overly interesting, there aren’t many gameplay modes, there isn’t much fun to be had and there isn’t much chance this game will live long in anyone’s memory. If you enjoyed Gang Beasts or any quick local multiplayer games which don’t take much explaining, then you may get a couple of hours out of this, but even that may be a stretch.- Xbox Tavern

Even with its technical drawbacks and its disgraceful design choices to the side, Party Arcade just isn’t fun. Most of the party games included are either too tedious, too repetitive, or too frustrating. Furthermore, the game demands far too much of a grind from its players in order to access more content, likely put in place to encourage the purchase of its needless microtransactions. This is little more than a greedy and desperate cash-grab.- Xbox Tavern

Sephirothic Stories is an outdated RPG, and a poorly developed one at that. The gameplay itself is far too basic, with very little innovation in place to give it any distinction or character throughout. I can say the same about its low-quality visual and audio design, which is further hindered by its constant asset recycling. Overall, and at best, this is nothing more than a substandard adventure that’s crammed with needless microtransactions.- Xbox Tavern

There’s no extra modes, no MP, no leader boards. As a standalone arcade game it’s passable for quick bursts, but the appeal soon wore off and after just an hour or so I’d more than had my fill. As usual, there’s a fairly easy 1000g to find if you’ve the desire to grind the stages, but I can’t see this being a title that’ll stick in your playlist once that last achievement pops.- Xbox Tavern

Thunder Paw is a simple platformer, and that’s about it. You shouldn’t go into it expecting something more. It’s your basic run and gun that doesn’t bring much to the table. The one boss fight after each of the stages changes things up but it doesn’t fully redeem itself with its weird gun mechanics and stale gameplay. Visually the game was enjoyable and it speaks to me but when it came down to the gameplay the game decided to roll over and play dead permanently.- Xbox Tavern

I came into Heliborne full of hope, but left completely disappointed. Unless you’re a die-hard helicopter fan there’s not much at all here to make it worth your while checking out, and even if you are a fan…well… caution is still advised.- Xbox Tavern

Those looking to Session to fill a Skate-shaped hole in their gaming life are likely to be sorely disappointed. It is not an easy game to learn, but more importantly, it’s also not a fun one either. Some better tutorials or alternate control options might have saved the game a little, but as it is I just can’t find any reason to recommend this to anyone outside of truly dedicated skaters willing to put the grind in.- Xbox Tavern

Woodle Tree Adventures draws inspiration from the likes of Banjo Kazooie and Mario 64, but well and truly fails at meeting the same level of quality on even a surface level. The game’s utter lack of refinement sees issues such as poor camera behavior and inconsistent handling continuously hindering play. Though, even if you’ve the patience to overlook such blatant faults, you’re left with a dull platformer that’s far more frustrating than it’s worth.- Xbox Tavern

For a title that has as interesting a premise as This is the Zodiac Speaking, the execution leaves a lot to be desired. Tough to read stealth mechanics, a wooden cast delivering a bland story, dull visuals and audio, and some baffling UI and technical issues mean that I cannot recommend this to even the most ardent of thriller fans.- Xbox Tavern

If you’ve ever thought that the door handle out of your room was a bit complicated and needed less gameplay, then A Hero and a Garden is £4.99 and might be your bag of seeds. For anyone else, this idle-clicker-meets-visual-novel is best buried in the garden and forgotten about.- Xbox Tavern

Deep Ones is dull, uninteresting, annoying and poorly designed. Make no mistake about it, this is a game that will test your patience much more than it will your skill. The price tag may well be generous, but even then you’re practically paying to be constantly frustrated.- Xbox Tavern

In a world where there are so many exciting indie titles being released seemingly every week, it’s tough to recommend Tetsumo Party. It feels like a mini-game at best, something made for a flash browser at worst. We’d recommend you let this wall pass straight by.- Xbox Tavern

In the end, anyone with even a modicum of ability and patience will breeze through Gravity Duck in about an hour. While there are a couple of trickier levels, you’ll likely blitz through most on your first try. With no incentive at all to replay levels (no time attack/hidden items etc) and the full 1000G gained in half the time it takes to clear the game, I can’t really recommend it to anyone outside of achievement hunters.- Xbox Tavern

Future War: Reborn will leave you feeling robbed of both your time and money. The gameplay is basic and overly repetitive, the visuals are poor, and everything in between is equally as disappointing. Sanity of Morris is sadly just not very good. Outside of some decent initial horror aspects and a passable tale, the woeful stealth, boring exploration, and tedious puzzles make for a title that gets ever more maddening the further we play.- Xbox Tavern

Shadow of Loot Box is a poor joke. Furthermore, it’s a poor joke that costs money. I see nothing funny about a game that’s poking fun at controversial subjects, when in itself, it encompasses everything that makes a bad game, bad. On top of that and with its subject matter to the side, the game is extremely basic, lacks polish, and becomes overly repetitive far too quickly.- Xbox Tavern

Don’t be fooled by the store’s slick images, Tyler Model 005 is a terrible game. There’s not a single quality that I can praise the game for outside of its somewhat competent upgrade and cosmetic system. This is the very product of lazy, rushed and sloppy development, making for an ugly experience that’s riddled with bugs, poor optimization, frustrating functionality, and heaps of loading screens, throughout.- Xbox Tavern

Korgan has the look and feel of a mobile title, albeit with marginally better production value. However, the boring slow combat, poor controls, general lack of meaningful progression and terrible loot system, chases away the main joy that’s typically a standard for this genre. Indeed, the prologue is free to play and as such is open to all, but even that feels like too much to ask.- Xbox Tavern

Planet Rix-13 consists of little more than constant fetch questing, with the majority of its necessities nonsensically strewn in plain view throughout its hour-long run. The problem that this generates, amidst its poorly structured story and its feeble puzzle work, is that it all feels far too guided. Despite its cheap cost, and unless you’re only looking to bulk up your Gamerscore, this game isn’t worth your time nor your attention.- Xbox Tavern
