I had a decent amount of fun with Mineko's Night Market and if there's ever a sequel, I hope they make the gameplay more engaging.

Takotan is a barebones and occasionally annoying horizontal shoot 'em up yet it manages to remain charming and fairly enjoyable.

When it comes to shoot 'em ups, Grood is a capable indie although it doesn't do all that much beyond the very basics of the genre.

Cyberpunk 2077 is a frustrating mess. Its main narrative and characters are compelling but it's all within a game so buggy that, in terms of games with good stories and botched launches, it gives Fallout: New Vegas a run for its money. While I enjoyed my time in Night City because of its solid writing and characters, I cannot give Cyberpunk 2077 a recommendation.

As a huge fan of Volfied, it's clear that Mokoko X doesn't live up to the classic which is a shame because there's a lot of potential here.

I had a great deal of fun with subpar pool at first but that fun quickly turned into repetition so keep that in mind before cueing up.

I had a lot of fun with Boxed In and its intuitive yet challenging score-chasing mechanics but that fun is best enjoyed in short bursts.

Space Harrier's fast-paced action can be quite fun but its simplicity and annoying aspects will make your excitement quickly wear thin.

Even though there is a lot of content in Braveland Trilogy, it's still a very simplistic take on SRPGs that doesn't offer anything new.

Suika Game is an entertaining bite-sized puzzler that can be a lot of fun for a few minutes at a time but it could use much more content.

Dragon Takers isn't a bad RPG but it's certainly a generic one in many of its facets. What's here is still promising, though; I'll give it that.

If its gameplay was more fine-tuned, Paperman: Adventure Delivered could have been a great throwback to PS2-era platformers.

I sincerely wish that Boti: Byteland Overclocked was more fine-tuned before its console debut but what we have is still a solid platformer.

Bilkins' Folly is a lovely game with loads of rewarding puzzles to figure out but being able to progress is often an overly taxing affair.

It may not be the most original or rewarding game out there but Treasure Stack is certainly a solid and fun competitive puzzler.

Although Etherborn is a somewhat short and often frustrating adventure, its intricate stages are mostly a joy to solve.

It may not be quite as fun as Taito's classic Tube-It but Powertris still offers some solid and challenging score-chasing puzzle gameplay.

Although it's fantastic to be able to experience 5 completely different gameplay styles, 198X's campaign is over within an hour or so and all you can do after that is replay its brief chapters again and again. The fact that you can't skip cutscenes is just a kick in the pants.

Mastering Ellipsis' tricky stages can require a great deal of skill and patience so it makes for a rather rewarding formula.

I had a lot of fun with Shy Cats Hidden Orchestra and it's a silly game to play on the TV with friends so you can all find cats together.

The Walking Vegetables: Radical Edition may feature generic twin-stick shooting gameplay but its '80s aesthetic makes it feel unique.

It certainly doesn't break out of the tower defense mold but Battle of Kings is an enjoyable and fast-paced strategic experience.

The Chase: Cop Pursuit is a hilarious indie game with tight controls and a substantial amount of content even if it is a bit clunky.

Although Alpaca Ball: Allstars can be a lot of fun, its strange controls make the gameplay feel more random than skill-based.

Although it can be an exceptionally frustrating and unintuitive game, Bye Sweet Carole is still gorgeous and its puzzles can be quite satisfying.

Jet Kave Adventure is full of rewarding scenarios but it could have definitely used more time in the oven before it released.

If you're in the market for a punishing 2D action game that can be rewarding at times then you may enjoy what Wicce has to offer.
