Treasure Stack‘s unique twist on a familiar genre makes for addictive and engaging gameplay – but it’s not going to be for everyone. Getting to grips with the game’s quirks takes patience, and becoming good at the game will take a hell of a lot of practice. But once you get into the game’s rhythm, it’s hard to put down.

Treasure Stack is fun, and despite similarities to other puzzlers feels new and fresh enough to be worthy of your time. This said, it doesn’t quite have that magic formula and feels very light in terms of content, which won’t keep you entertained for long.

It may not be the most original or rewarding game out there but Treasure Stack is certainly a solid and fun competitive puzzler.

I appreciate that there’s a new take on a seemingly ancient genre, I just wish it blended together more smoothly and the controls weren’t so awkward. The difficulty curve is extremely sharp and will take hours to feel natural. While constant unlocks are something to work towards, they are simply cosmetic and there’s little left for any gameplay depth or longevity.

Treasure Stack attempts to stand out on the basis of its concept mashup, but fails miserably to do so. The game’s difficulty curve is far too steep after even just a few minutes, with the overall product further hindered by its tedious structure and its lack of depth and refinement. Fans of block droppers that want a competitive online experience will no doubt find some value here, but I would caution against getting your hopes up.

This game while indie boasts both on-line play and cross-play with other platforms which is very rare in this arena, so mad props for this amazing addition. Treasure Stack offers a fun puzzle concept, however there is a steep difficulty curve to contend with so practice is of utmost necessity. Pay close attention to the tutorial that’s available for you. I did enjoy the amount of content the game despite a slick lack of variety in each game mode. A story might have been a nice addition, unfortunately there isn’t one. The visuals and sound design are done extremely well, and a story could’ve given the presentation more character. I fully recommend Treasure Stack to seasoned puzzle players, however newcomers beware it's more difficult than it should be for a newcomer. The game shines and provides the most fun and enjoyable moments when you and your friends are playing together. Expand
