I wish that Pirates VR: Jolly Roger offered lootin' and ship-captainin' because its confusin' and frustratin' adventure just isn't all that jolly.

Tales from the Dragon Mountain: The Strix is a retro adventure game that's a bit too old-school at times yet it remains fairly rewarding.

Bake 'n Switch is a goofy arcade-style co-op game that features some fun mechanics yet its core gameplay remains rather flat.

Pokemon Shield isn't a bad game but it certainly feels like one of the lazier entries in the long-running series. It still has the core things that make Pokemon great but it comes up short in a few too many areas. I didn't feel like my time was wasted but once I reached the end, I had no desire to turn it back on again which marks the first time a Pokemon game has made me feel this way.

I wish that Shing! stuck with traditional controls because it offers a fantastic campaign but the controls make it much less fun.

Beating up folks with a motorcycle between your legs sounds like fun and it is. That being said, Road Redemption simply doesn't provide enough long-lasting gameplay to keep the average gamer entertained for longer than a couple of hours.

Destructure: Among Debris is an incredibly fun and challenging brick-breaker that unfortunately suffers from some truly irritating bugs.

Even as someone who can finish any Mega Man game before breakfast, I found Battle Kid: Fortress of Peril to be one maddeningly difficult game. It does a lot of things right, though, so it's worth checking out for any hardcore retro game enthusiast.

I had a solid time with OBLITACRATER and hope a sequel will release that offers much more variety and far less messy visuals.

Hilarious premise aside, Double Kick Heroes is a solid albeit simple rhythm game with a great soundtrack that you can rock out to.

Although I enjoyed my time with Deleveled, it definitely has its frustrating moments. However, I still recommend it to 2D puzzle fans.

As far as simple Metroidvanias go, Guns of Fury is a solid one that's definitely worth playing as long as you don't mind a little monotony.

Even as a huge fan of the series, it's difficult to thoroughly enjoy Wonder Boy in Monster Land in this day and age. That being said, playing it is a great way to experience the origins of the franchise that we know and love.
