    A tactical 2D dungeon crawler that doesn’t even try to hide that it was heavily inspired by Darkest Dungeon. But neither mechanically, in terms of storytelling nor artistically it is nowhere near its role model.

    If you fit in Vambrace: Cold Soul's niche audience, you'll definitely have a fun time but overall, it's a tough game to widely recommend.

    Vambrace: Cold Soul lacks the kind of depth that more appealing RPG and perma-death titles offer. Regardless, Vambrace looks gorgeous and does offer that first step into the challenging world of perma-death games.

    I think this game actually had potential to be a hidden gem as it nails the artwork, music, and design, but fails in terms of gameplay andI think this game actually had potential to be a hidden gem as it nails the artwork, music, and design, but fails in terms of gameplay and strategy with a terrible UI that I still don't know what some debuffs do.

    Pros
    The overall storyline is somewhat basic, with different factions based on the races (elves drow humans dwarfs foxiers) but you don't really feel like it matters all that much. It would of been really nice where you could really pick a faction and thus get like free items/better equipment/discounts/ and better companions. But you really do feel the emotional weight of the story

    Cons
    Lack of upgrades, lack of equipment, unnecessary difficulty that's not fun at all. What I mean by that is at times there's random events that you can stumble upon (traps, mimics, or moments as I call it (like stumbling on a hidden door, or wraiths/ghosts) but the issue is that the game seems to make it more likely you will fail, so you'll take damange/lose vigor, negative effectsand some of this can impact your whole party. due to this most likely you just choose to skip it and not take the risk.... a game that does this well is slay the spire as you know the pros/cons of the random event and you can decide if you want to do that. if the developers just even fixed this, the game will be better, but there's just so many flaws with the gameplay it really weighs the game down. Not sure if I will even bother to finish this game, but I did get this game for super cheap. Don't play this game unless it's on a big sale, don't even pay full price for this game.    … Expand
