Complaints aside, there's no denying that Metroid: Samus Returns is an addictive and rewarding remake of a classic game. It's certainly not as good as other 2D entries in the series but what's here is sure to tide fans over until the next Metroid releases.

3D platformers don't get much cuter than New Super Lucky's Tale. Although it can be fun for less skilled gamers, genre veterans will likely find it a bit too unengaging due to its low degree of challenge and typical core gameplay.

I had so much fun with Tomba! 2 Special Edition and it reminded me just how special of a game it is thanks to its unorthodox approach to platforming, general goofiness, and stage designs that often offer much more than initially meets the eye. Plus, there are piggies.

I'm very happy that Mario vs. Donkey Kong was remade, especially considering just how darn cute it all is. Seeing as the core gameplay has held-up as well as it has and that there are a lot of challenges to overcome, it's one impressive package.

After playing Horatio Goes Snowboarding for hours, I must say that I'm impressed with its intuitive albeit challenging gameplay as it keeps pushing you to achieve higher scores. In fact, I had so much fun that I hope to see a sequel; hopefully featuring much more content.

An absolute joy to play with gameplay that's as explosively addictive as ever. Besides a few minor complaints, I couldn't be happier that Bomberman's back in a modern interpretation of the series.

Backfirewall_ does an excellent job of personifying something that the average person takes for granted: their smartphone. Exploring its artistic CPU and cluttered Bin is a lot of fun and it offers a surprisingly heartfelt story. If you can look past the glitches and don't mind referencing a guide here and there, this is one unique first-person puzzler that's worth your time.

Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon brings back the essence of the 8-bit Castlevania games in a masterful way. Even though it's short and has its frustrating moments, long-time fans of the series will find a lot to love here.

Max: The Curse of Brotherhood is a colorful and excellently animated puzzle-platformer. The marker mechanics work very well and keep the campaign interesting throughout the six to eight hour adventure.

If you ever feel like a little mouse as you try your best yet you mostly go by unnoticed then The Spirit and the Mouse will surely connect with you as much as it did with me. Plus, it's one cute and laidback tale that's impressively well put-together.

Space Moth Lunar Edition is a challenging shoot 'em up with a satisfying scoring system and that alone adds up to one must-have arcade shooter. However, its lack of multiplayer, extra modes, and power-ups makes it feel like a somewhat hollow experience.

It took a long time for me to appreciate what Monster Menu: The Scavenger's Cookbook has to offer and once I did, I became hooked thanks to its surprisingly deep strategic survival formula that'll have you scrambling to maintain and grow your party of chibi adventurers.

Souldiers is a capable and enjoyable Metroidvania that provided me a solid amount of fun. With an expansive and attractive world, loads of goodies to discover, and intuitive controls, I'm sure you'll enjoy your journey through Terragaya as much as I did.

River City: Rival Showdown is definitely one of the best entries in the long-running Kunio-kun series. Although Tokyo Rumble offers a bit more of a robust package, what's here is sure to provide hours of beat 'em up fun.

If you're a Pokemon fan and haven't played the original Diamond, Pearl, or Platinum then you're missing out. The Sinnoh region is an absolute joy to explore and it's super-fun trying to catch as many Pokémon as you can. Plus, Pokemon Shining Pearl lets you use the Nintendo Switch's network features in a way that you might not have had the opportunity to with the original DS games.

Gundemoniums is a huge improvement over Platine Dispositif's classic shmup Gundemonium Recollection. That being said, I can't help but wish more content was included because at its core, it's still a very short-lived game.
