CastleStorm has been entertaining gamers for over 5 years and this Switch version is the most enjoyable iteration to date. So, if you never had the opportunity to play it yet or simply want a portable version, it's definitely worth picking up a copy for Switch.

ADIOS Amigos took what made Amazing Discoveries In Outer Space unique and turned it into something extremely enjoyable. If you're in the mood to play a quirky 2D cooperative space exploration game then you need to add this to your gaming library.

I loved playing Spectrum's challenging scenarios and highly recommend it to any gamer who enjoys replaying and mastering stages.

In the end, Chiki-Chiki Boxy Racers is a cute little racer that features a few nifty mini-games but its lack of replay value means that you'll likely play it for a little while then never pick it up again.

Fans of Kiryu's crazy adventures will love Yakuza Kiwami 2 as it's full of over-the-top action and ridiculous scenarios. Even with its somewhat disappointing combat and story, it's a must-have for anyone who loves action games.

Newbies who are easily impressed with any game that looks retro might enjoy Shikhondo: Soul Eater. However, if you're a hardcore shoot 'em up fan or even have some familiarity with the genre, you'll be rather disappointed with this offering.

A fun laid-back exploration experience and it has the unique honour of featuring the largest open world in all of gaming. However, don't go in expecting an exciting or challenging campaign because it's simply not either of those things.

Even with its multiple problems, I can't deny that Phantom Doctrine presents a unique and enjoyable take on turn-based SRPGs. Its stealth mechanics and rewarding campaign make for a very satisfying yet currently flawed game.

Strange Brigade definitely took me by surprise as it's one of the most fun-filled cooperative online games out there. The amount of variety makes the gameplay constantly enjoyable and working together with friends is super-satisfying.

The original Overcooked is a cooperative masterpiece and this sequel simply tried a little too hard. It's still enjoyable but the frustrating stage designs and easy scoring system make for a far less satisfying meal.

HackyZack can be fun if you enjoy intensely challenging 2D games but for everyone else, it's simply too irritating to recommend.

Shio would be a lot more enjoyable if it didn't rely on its only gimmick and repetitive stage designs throughout its entire campaign. As it is, it's a tough game to recommend as there are many more challenging, varied, and rewarding platformers out there.

I enjoyed my time with Miles & Kilo and it gave me flashbacks to playing Adventure Island as a kid. If that sounds like it could be fun to you then you definitely won't regret giving it a try.

Flat Heroes is a surprisingly addictive hazard-dodging platformer but don't expect its multiplayer component to provide any more enjoyment than playing solo. If you're looking to test your 2D gaming skills then Flat Heroes surely won't disappoint.

As most indie-keen gamers already know, Celeste is a phenomenal 2D platformer. Almost everything about it comes together to make a satisfying and challenging game that'll thoroughly put your skills to the test.

My time spent with Little Dragons Cafe was bittersweet. The story, graphics, and exploration are enjoyable for a while but the terrible pacing, graphical issues, and often annoying controls will likely make you leave a less than stellar Yelp review for this cafe.

Death's Gambit has all the makings of a fantastic 2D Souls-like experience. Getting through the campaign right now requires a bit of patience due to glitches so hopefully, White Rabbit will refine the experience to ensure players can get the most out of it.

Hero Defense provides a refreshing take on tower defense games but its gameplay remains mostly simplistic when you compare it to other games in the genre. Plus, the drab graphics and sound certainly don't make it any more fun.

SubaraCity is a simple game that you can easily master after you learn the little bit of strategy that's required. After that, you'll likely never play it again. The fact that there are no additional modes is puzzling indeed.

Guacamelee! 2 sticks closely to the core formula that made the original a massive success. While it isn't quite as memorable or groundbreaking as its predecessor, it still makes for an excellent and visually stunning adventure.

In the end, Pixel Ripped 1989 is a superb VR experience that'll make you have flashbacks if you grew up in the '80s or '90s. The imaginative premise and tight 2D platforming creates one of the most memorable games that you can play on PlayStation VR.
