It may not be a huge step up from last year's PS4 release but Nioh 2 Remastered - The Complete Edition is a great edition of a fantastic game that fans and newcomers alike will love. That is; if they can handle its high degree of challenge.

Although it features flashy visuals and initially intriguing gameplay, Destruction AllStars begins to get a bit tiresome after a while. It still offers plenty of entertainment but the fun factor doesn't quite have as much longevity as some similar titles do.

Hitman 3 follows in the footsteps of its predecessors by adding 6 new beautiful locations and some smaller additions and improvements. On the downside, it lacks any sort of multiplayer mode. Regardless, it's a must-buy for any fan of the series.

It may owe a lot to Hidden in Plain Sight but Unspottable manages to elevate its gameplay to new heights with its super-fun gimmicks.

It may offer solid space combat but Redout: Space Assault's lack of ambition to try anything new holds it back from being special.

I had fun with The Unexpected Quest but its failure to challenge me made the experience less satisfying than it could have been.

Tadpole Treble Encore is a whimsical musical adventure that can easily appeal to gamers of all ages and skill levels.

Rhythm Fighter's gameplay is rewarding, impressively strategic, a great deal of fun, and is amplified by its awesome music and art.

If you have the patience to persevere through its irritatingly tricky segments, Golden Force can be a rewarding fun-filled adventure.

For all that Ys IX: Monstrum Nox does that's new, there's no denying that it's still a tried-and-true Ys game at its core. Although I wish it took more risks with its setting and gameplay, it's still a great action RPG that fans like me will love.

Although I still prefer the original, Atelier Ryza 2 is a wonderful experience that fans of the first game will love. It may be a confusing journey at times but the amount of wonder and charm throughout make persevering consistently feel rewarding.

Turrican Flashback Collection includes 4 undeniably old-school run 'n' gun games that genre fans may want to play but be warned; there are plenty of aspects that haven't aged well at all which makes playing this compilation quite annoying at times.

Cyber Shadow is definitely a genuine old-school experience which mostly works in its favour although it can be a frustrating test of patience at times. No matter which way you slice it, if you enjoy old-school 2D action games, playing Cyber Shadow is a must.

Cyberpunk 2077 is a frustrating mess. Its main narrative and characters are compelling but it's all within a game so buggy that, in terms of games with good stories and botched launches, it gives Fallout: New Vegas a run for its money. While I enjoyed my time in Night City because of its solid writing and characters, I cannot give Cyberpunk 2077 a recommendation.

Rod Land is an unexpected surprise from the golden age of adorable single-screen arcade games. Its nifty scoring mechanics and wide variety of enemies make it quite a satisfying treat so if you enjoy retro games then definitely give it a go.

Your enjoyment with Blacksmith of the Sand Kingdom will vary according to how much mileage you get out of its gameplay loop until it begins to become tedious. Before that sinks in, it's a great RPG but afterwards, you'll gladly come back to it just every once in a while.

Mia's Picnic is an easy breezy puzzler that makes collecting fruit a fun and rewarding experience, especially when you want to wind down.

Grindstone is the sort of puzzler that appeals to hardcore genre fans and casual gamers alike with its immediately gratifying gameplay.

With many great couch co-op games out there, it's hard to wholeheartedly recommend Shakes on a Plane although it is quite charming.

It pleases me to say that Shady Part of Me is one of the best surprises of the year so if you like indie puzzlers, you have to play this.

If the idea of a simple yet challenging rhythm game appeals to you then you'll have a blast aiming for high scores in Rhythm of the Gods.

Twin-stick shooters simply don't get much better than Synthetik: Ultimate with its intricate and tactical approach to gun-based combat.

Super Meat Boy is a genuine classic that has stood the test of time and contrary to its title, I don't think Forever will. It still offers challenging and rewarding gameplay but its core mechanics sometimes make for a patience-testing and tedious affair.

Burst Shooter seems more like a game made for a school project than something that should be commercially available to the public.

When it comes to shoot 'em ups, Grood is a capable indie although it doesn't do all that much beyond the very basics of the genre.

If you want to inject some festive fun into your Switch library then guiding Santa along tiles makes for a nifty little puzzle game.

Although I had fun playing Ponpu, it made me want to dive back into Bomberman as it isn't quite as satisfying as Hudson's classic.

Colossus Down is a great beat 'em up that takes place in one of the most twisted indie franchises out there and I highly recommend it.

As a silly spoof game, Landflix Odyssey is jam-packed with parodies of TV shows that'll keep you glued to your TV with its fun gameplay.

Not many indies completely nail retro arcade games as well as Tanuki Justice does so if you love 2D action then this is a must-have game.

As a fan of the Yakuza series, I had a good time with Like a Dragon but it could definitely use a lot of fine-tuning if there's ever another RPG-style sequel. Overall, I'm happy that it exists but I was hoping its combat would have been much better executed.

If you are a human who enjoys interior decorating and making princesses as pretty as possible then Pretty Princess Party can be a ton of fun. However, if you merely want to have a party with your princess pals then there isn't much to enjoy in that regard here.

If you have fond memories of playing the Final Fantasy Legend games on your Game Boy back in the day then Collection of SaGa is simply a must-have nostalgia trip. They may not hold up as well as some other RPGs yet these titles remain wonderfully unique and special.

Among Us is a game made for those who have a lot of online friends or followers. If you don't fit that description then you can have fun but will more than likely get irritated while playing with random players who obviously have no idea what they're doing.

Gears 5: Hivebusters is a must-play for any fan of the series. From its dire situations to its jaw-dropping combat scenes, it's hard to pull yourself away from the action-packed campaign and once you've completed it, you'll gladly play through it again.
