Feb 17, 2021Natsuki Chronicles takes the high quality shoot 'em up gameplay of Ginga Force, flips it ninety degrees and delivers a great shoot 'em up with a rewarding upgrade system. Newbies might struggle a little but genre fans will have a blast.
-
Feb 24, 2021Natsuku Chronicles is a seriously entertaining title, which fans of classics like Border Down and R-Type Final will absolutely lap up.
-
Mar 11, 2021Natsuki Chronicles accommodates newcomers and veterans of the genre without diluting the experience for either. The tight, challenging gameplay and great presentation provide a game that’s well worth playing. Admittedly, the difficulty may be off-putting to some, especially with the occasional difficulty spike. However, Natsuki Chronicles provides the tools to master the gameplay without the tedium often associated with games of its genre. I would wholeheartedly recommend the game to those that appreciate high quality shoot ‘em ups or even just someone looking for a good introduction to the genre.
-
Feb 17, 2021Overall, there is plenty of game here and enough to challenge even the most hardened shoot-’em-up fanatic, but also enough tricks up its sleeve to cater for newcomers. Natsuki Chronicles will be on my ‘pick up and play’ list for a while.
-
Mar 12, 2021A visually extremely unsophisticated horizontal shooter that shines mechanically: The amount of weapon systems as well as the ballistic trajectory feature make this an insiders’ tip.
-
Mar 22, 2021In spite of the game’s assists, I wouldn’t recommend it for someone new to the genre. It will simply be too difficult and frustrating for anyone who doesn’t come into the game with some shmup skills on their resume. Shmup veterans will have a better go of things, but will find themselves challenged for the reasons that I’ve outlined. I wouldn’t call Natsuki Chronicles a “must play” for fans of the genre, but some will find the visuals and ship customization an interesting change of pace and will enjoy checking the game out.
-
Feb 17, 2021Unoriginal art direction aside, Natsuki Chronicles is a thoroughly entertaining shoot ’em up that any fan of the genre should check out. Though thanks to its generosity with handing out additional credits and shields in each of its game modes, it’s even suitable for those with only a passing interest in the genre looking for a good entry point. Only players who truly wanted to follow its story will find real fault with it – everyone else will find it to be a blast from beginning to end.
