Citadelum is an excellent city-building and management game set in ancient Rome, featuring an intelligent building system, clear objectives, an intuitive menu, and campaigns that simulate Rome’s historical events. A few issues, such as rough autosaving and basic battle sections, do occur, but they do not spoil the overall experience.

The third game in the Gear.Club franchise is a total success in terms natural evolution within the genre, but still has points that show some amateurism from its developers.

FUR Squadron Phoenix is a roguelite sequel to the indie game FUR Squadron. Heavily inspired by Star Fox, the game features spaceship mechanics with procedurally generated environments and various upgrades. It only falls short in some missing elements, such as multiplayer and checkpoints.

Damon and Baby is a dungeon crawler with a curious story and well-made gameplay. Despite its quality, it falls short in its Roguelite aspects, in addition to the co-op that doesn't work very well. Overall, it's a very creative product.

The Disney Afternoon Collection arrives on the Switch and also brings two new titles not present in the original collection previously released on other platforms: Bonkers and Goof Troop. Despite the great surprise, there are some technical problems are that I consider unacceptable in the official emulation sphere.

GluMe is a great addition to the Nintendo Switch's puzzle library, and a must-buy for anyone who loves the genre and craves something genuinely innovative.

The DX version of Sigma Star Saga is an excellent shmup with RPG elements, imbued with a nice and mature story that grants a dark atmosphere like those seen in Metroid Fusion and MGS Ghost Babel. Despite that, more in-game extras and a better rebalance of the experience system, since the random encounters were reduced, would make a huge difference.

LOVE ETERNAL is a game that I wouldn't play for long, but the combination of beautiful minimalist art, deep environmental sound, an intriguing fantastical horror story, and stages with a truly rewarding feeling makes it a precious gem that deserves your attention.

Dead by Daylight: Stranger Things 2 restores players' faith in the game. With a solid chapter, few bugs, and beloved characters featuring perks that could shake up the meta, it's a confident return to form.

With well-implemented mechanics and a gradual difficulty curve that blends combat and platforming in a challenging yet fair way, along with enjoyable exploration and a story that does, in fact, fit the series, Legacy of Kain: Ascendance is not without major flaws: besides being short, it features repetitive enemies and environments, and it does not allow players to skip dialogue when revisiting stages for further exploration. That said, it is a competent 2D game for fans of the genre and a solid addition to the beloved series.

Rushing Beat X: Return of Brawl Brothers is a great game, almost on the level of Streets of Rage 4, as a beat ’em up that stood out from others in the genre thanks to its beautiful aesthetics and deep mechanics. Sadly, it falls short due to its lack of challenge and dumb AI. Even so, if you’re looking for a beat ’em up among the titles available on Nintendo platforms, this is one of the best on the list.

Virtua Fighter 5 arrived strong on Nintendo Switch 2. Accessible for newcomers thanks to its simple three-button layout and still competitive for pro players thanks to its intelligent mechanics and unique characters, Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage is an amazing debut for the series on a Nintendo platform. With 19 years on the market, though, it missed the opportunity to offer more single-player content and more refined facial expressions and lip-sync animation, as on all other platforms. Even so, it remains one of the best fighting games on the market thanks to its mechanics and crossplay support.

Etrange Overlord marks the first step in the indie journey of Disgaea's legendary creator. Though short, it carves out its own identity. While the gameplay can feel a bit repetitive, the characters' humor and charisma will keep you glued to your seat until the very end of Étrange Von Rosenburg's journey.

Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun is an excellent real-time strategy game set in feudal Japan, featuring a great atmosphere (despite a somewhat predictable story), traditional control options and mouse support (Joy Con 2), and solid performance, along with a fairly accessible difficulty level for the genre.

BlazBlue Entropy Effect X is a very innovative roguelike with its character moveset evolution mechanic. Besides being a treat for fans of the fighting game franchise, it's also very accessible to roguelike enthusiasts who aren't so familiar with combos, as well as more casual players. It's very addictive once you get the hang of it, and the variety of characters and styles helps a lot to avoid the simple repetition of the genre.

A technical marvel on the Nintendo Switch 2, the game features excellent graphics, incredible lighting effects, and fast loading times. It also delivers amazing gameplay with no frame drops. Resident Evil Requiem, although somewhat short when compared to other games in the series, is extremely fun, challenging in the right measure (being even more accessible than other titles in the franchise) and full of secrets and easter eggs. Whether you’re a fan of the series or not, this is a must-play for anyone who owns a Nintendo Switch 2.

Trails Beyond the Horizon can be described as a new start inside the current Calvard arc and, at the same time, a synthesis of the series up to this moment. The story is certainly something fans will love it, as well as the interactions between the teams. The combat system showcases new systems and it’s very dynamic. However, the title also shows Falcom’s quirks that we accepted as part of the series formula and that should have been polished a long time ago.

Super Bomberman Collection is one of the best examples of how to bring classics in an tidy and dedicated way. The package contains 5 main games, plus 2 extras and lots of bonus material. However, it is lacking in the online mode and other secondary aspects.

Lil Gator Game: Gator of the Year Edition is pure childhood charm bottled into a video game. Bundling the base game with the In the Dark DLC, it offers dozens of customization options and total freedom to explore at your own pace. What awaits is hours of imagination, make-believe, and that warm childhood feeling.

Picross S SNK Classics & NEOGEO Edition is the latest entry in the long-running series, transforming classic video game icons into satisfying nonogram puzzles. It doesn’t reinvent the formula; instead, it delivers exactly the focused, polished experience fans look for.

Assassin's Creed Shadows on the Nintendo Switch 2 is a technical marvel that showcases the potential of the new hardware. While visual trade-offs are evident – such as the removal of Ray Tracing and lower foliage density – the use of DLSS and VRR ensures a solid and engaging handheld experience. The dual-protagonist system (Naoe and Yasuke) brings much-needed variety to the gameplay. However, the docked mode still suffers from inconsistent frame-pacing and needs further patching. Overall, it is a must-play for fans of the genre who prioritize portability without sacrificing the core content of a massive current-gen RPG.

Dynasty Warriors Origins marks a spectacular return to form for the series, perfectly leveraging the Switch 2 hardware to deliver massive, fluid battles without compromising performance. By shifting focus toward a more tactical, personal narrative with its "Nameless Hero" and a dynamic, high-energy soundtrack, the game breathes new life into the Three Kingdoms saga. It is a must-play for action fans and a technical showcase for Nintendo’s new era.

System Shock is a great remaster that delivers beautiful visuals, rewards exploration, and strong action. Some minor drawbacks such as environments with similar looking textures, difficulty spotting certain items, and small font size do not interfere with the fun to be had in this excellent FPS with survival horror vibes on the Nintendo Switch.

Blood: Refreshed Supply brings back a lesser known yet excellent classic FPS, now enhanced with numerous quality-of-life improvements that can be customized for players who prefer to stick with the original nostalgic experience. With plenty of stages and secrets to discover, it’s a guaranteed good time both for newcomers looking to explore the title and for veterans of the classic created by Monolith.

Terminator 2D: NO FATE is a beautiful pixel-art homage that moves away from the traditional movie-licensed game formula and brings a more indie-inspired style to the classic portrayed by Arnold Schwarzenegger. Fast, nostalgic, and frenetic, the game falls short of delivering a deeper and longer-lasting experience to the classic, even while offering alternative endings.

Metroid Prime 4: Beyond didn’t revolutionize the series the same way the first Metroid Prime did. It introduces new ideas, but doesn’t fully explore their potential. That being said, this new first-person action-adventure starring Samus Aran is a worthy entry in the Metroid universe, featuring the most challenging and engaging battles in the Prime series, an epic narrative with memorable boss fights, charismatic characters, and a more fluid exploration experience (backtracking included) than its predecessors. Add to that beautifully crafted graphics and arguably one of the best original soundtracks the Prime series has ever offered.

Master Lemon: The Quest for Iceland is a charming Brazilian indie that truly deserves your attention. More than a game, it’s a beautiful homage to a friend who’s gone on the long journey, and a gentle lesson in the power of words, friendship, and kindness, all warmly wrapped in the spirit of Brazil.

Hitman: Absolution is another port of prime technical from Feral Interactive, which could offer a little more in terms of performance options. Even so, this version of Switch is highly recommended, even for those who play only on handheld mode.
