While the game captures a certain sense of wonder, Of Ash and Steel is unreasonably unpolished and miserable to play. If the game were still in testing, I would call it ambitious, but changes still need to be made to the core experience and a lot of QA still needs to be done on what is being called a finished game.- Try Hard Guides

Death Relives quickly lost the interest of this horror fan. Though it’s built upon a strong concept, the concept alone is not strong enough to carry other aspects of the game that fail to fit into its genre or generally excite. While I wouldn’t call Death Relives a winner, I eagerly look towards what comes next from this studio and to see if they learn from the mistakes of their first title.- Try Hard Guides

The Sacred 2 Remaster is a half hearted attempt to update a game that felt kind of dated in its heyday. Beyond updated graphics and a new, buggy HUD, nothing has been done to actually remaster the title and improve upon its original flaws, with constant bugs, crashes, and problems persisting throughout. Simply put, it’s not worth your time, as a new player or a nostalgic returner.- Try Hard Guides

*Nova Antarctica* is a charming, if at times challenging, combination of survival-crafting mechanics and platforming. While it’s got its great and charming moments, a lot of little issues can hold the game back, making it slow or outright frustrating to play and leaving the player with a feeling that the game itself just isn’t totally finished.- Try Hard Guides

Die By The Blade delivers fast-paced, deadly skill-heavy combat for players to master in 1v1 battles. While not perfectly balanced, the game features some awesome cosmetics and exciting gameplay that will surely hook fans of the genre in for the long haul.- Try Hard Guides

For the first creation of a solo developer, Pneumata is a well-put-together, albeit flawed game with some nice visuals, something any amateur should be proud of. However, it may not be the magnum opus of horror that it claims itself to be, and buyers should consider their expectations accordingly.- Try Hard Guides

Captain Blood is a reminder of a lost era of gaming, one that is sure to make you feel nostalgic and may even win you over with its unique world and characters. However, nostalgia alone does not make a game great, and the game feels dated even for the era it meant to release in. Some may enjoy this title, but for others, it’s going to be a hard pass.- Try Hard Guides

Cosmic Resistance is a short, simple little title held back only by its lack of complexity. While it may be more at home as a mobile game, you certainly won’t be frustrated or annoyed by this title, and if the simple gameplay is enough to catch your attention, you have a generous 50 levels to play with it.- Try Hard Guides

Unknown Soul With Me is cute and full of heart but requires some real work before it can be the best game it can be. However, I still think the game deserves to be given a chance if you’ve read through these issues, and they aren’t total dealbreakers.- Try Hard Guides

Spellbound Survivors is a great new entry in the genre of survival action games, building effectively on familiar gameplay while incorporating ambitious and original ideas to distinguish itself from the crowd. While performance issues are present alongside some gameplay-limiting balance problems, these are issues that can easily be fixed with time and may already be solved by the time you read this review.- Try Hard Guides

S.E.C.U. has a strong gameplay foundation and ticks off all mechanical boxes for a good FPS game. However, the game struggles from boring-level design, unexciting boss fights, a lack of enemy variety, and underwhelming visuals. With a good update focusing on these problems, S.E.C.U. can take advantage of its already strong mechanics to make a truly standout title.- Try Hard Guides

Garten of Banban 6 is not a game worth playing. It’s plagued with bugs, intentionally frustrating and unintuitive gameplay, cheap and unfrightening jump “scares,” and a poorly written story filled with uninteresting characters. Garten of Banban 6 is perhaps the most soulless cash grab on Steam and one I see the developers continue to ride until they can’t anymore.- Try Hard Guides

Siege the Day has a promising concept, but bugs and underwhelming mechanics hold it back from its full potential. I’d like to see this game improved with time, love, and care, and I hope to return to a much better game someday.- Try Hard Guides

While some survival craft experts may find this title fun, strict, guided progression alongside some frustrating pacing and game design choices keep this from being one of my favorite titles in the genre. This game may best be enjoyed with a friend or two and something to watch to help pass the time while playing.- Try Hard Guides

As a game, Ancient Warriors is a fine, if underwhelming and overpriced, wave defense title with some great pixel art. However, some seemingly questionable practices on behalf of the developers mean players should exercise caution when checking out this title, as not all that is promised is delivered.- Try Hard Guides

First Cut: Samurai Duel is a fantastically challenging samurai simulator, showing the brutal reality of dangerous Sengoku-period sword duels. The game is held back by its lack of an online multiplayer experience, but otherwise, it is definitely worth your time and the modest price of entry.- Try Hard Guides

Super Algebrawl takes simple algebraic operations and turns them into pixelated fantasy battles, which can help players of any age retain math better. While featuring a few functional hiccups and a bit misleading with its “turn-based tactics” label, this algebraic puzzle game should appeal to math experts and those looking to brush up on their algebra.- Try Hard Guides

While not perfect, Enshrouded has a strong foundation, and its early access state means it has plenty of time to grow. I hope to see the developers take some of my feedback to heart, but as it stands, the game’s pros far outweigh the cons. [Early Access Review]- Try Hard Guides

Moonbreaker is an utterly unique game, unlike anything else on the market right now. Though I didn’t find a personal connection to the game’s cast of characters, it’s impossible not to recognize the game’s fantastic conversion of tabletop wargaming to the virtual space, creating a game with tons of customization and fun, forever replayable mechanics.- Try Hard Guides

Currently, PalWorld stands out among other titles as a highly unique spin on two separate and perhaps equally titanic genres. While there’s a lot of good to be seen in PalWorld, some flaws and hiccups hold the game back. However, it’s important to acknowledge that the game is currently in Early Access and is prone to big changes. PalWorld may not be the same game it is now in a year’s time.- Try Hard Guides

WitchHand offers a unique fusion of the 4X genre and card management, allowing players to explore a dangerous realm, build an empire of Witches, and face the relentless threat of void creatures all from a card table. The game successfully blends the complexities of a city builder with the simplicity of a card table, presenting an innovative but occasionally overwhelming experience.- Try Hard Guides

Overall, the game could use some polish. While it’s to be understood that some of these issues could presumably be due to the game being in early access, these are still issues worth bringing up. Hopefully, the developer will take the time to iron the experience out before the full release. [Early Access Review]- Try Hard Guides

Nightingale, in its current early access game, is a $30 release. I should under no circumstances be required to be connected to the internet to enjoy it. This, I feel, is especially true for the genre; Some of my best experiences in games like Conan Exiles, 7 Days to Die, and other survival crafts have been offline, especially when the game has such an emphasis on story content and PVE or exploration… like Nightingale does. At its core, Winter Survival is a horror game, and it does a really good job with some of the creepy aspects it goes for. By far, one of my favorite moments was when I neglected my hydration, and an unfamiliar voice popped up over the radio and said, “Thirsty?” [Early Access Review]- Try Hard Guides

I’ve said it once, and I’ll say it a thousand times: in a FPS game, one of the most important things you can have are guns that feel good to use. Unfortunately, many of the guns in Hellbreach: Vegas simply don’t. They have recoil that doesn’t feel punchy or strong, and audio that loops obviously and simply doesn’t sound very good. Audio design, in general, is not great in this game, with some sounds being way too loud or looping way too often, like the crows. There were a few times when the audio outright broke for a few seconds. Most tragically, the guns feel weak. This is due in large part to how the zombies increase in health, but also how they don’t stagger from bullets, and how you can’t blow limbs off or cripple them. Generally, the guns are just a big thumbs down for me, which is very disappointing, because they could easily have made the game much better on their own. [Early Access Review]- Try Hard Guides

Boy, do those units and buildings look fantastic! The game has a super modern look that somehow also captures the style of classic RTS games. The textures are super crisp and high quality, as are the models they’re placed over, yet somehow they look super-nostalgic. [Early Access Review]- Try Hard Guides
