Deadlock is an exciting addition to a genre that hasn’t seen, in my opinion, an up-and-comer with a real fighting chance in a while. Deadlock is sure to be popular, thanks to its twist on gameplay, fun setting, and great characters, if not outright give League of Legends a run for its money. [Early Access Review]- Try Hard Guides

Reka is a fantastic new addition to the survival craft/farming sim genre, with an incredibly unique setting and great original mechanics. It stands out with its themes and gameplay and is a great title worth checking out, even in its early access state. [Early Access Review]- Try Hard Guides

Beyond approachability, City 20 suffers from a lack of polish that could reasonably be expected from any game entering Early Access. I occasionally encountered a freeze, and there was a lack of content to keep me interested for as long as a finished game would. Despite these issues, I believe in City 20, and I think the game can really shine once it finishes its Early Access development cycle. [Early Access Review]- Try Hard Guides

I really have no real criticisms for Breachway. It’s a great deckbuilding roguelike even in its Early Access state, providing not only a well-designed card game but also a really interesting and immersive way to frame it. I would like to see even more ships and mechanics included in the future. Still, even now, the game feels really packed with content and challenging enough that mastering any specific playstyle or ship will undoubtedly take some real investment. Realm of Ink took a minute to grow on me, but grow on me it did. The game needs to work on its localization, and I still have mixed feelings about the game’s difficulty, but all in all, it seems to be in a fairly promising state, and I’m eager to see what the game is like after it leaves Early Access. Shady Knight combines fast-paced combat with even faster parkour, challenging you to dash, grapple, and slay your way through intense platforming puzzles on your quest to get the highest score possible. The game focuses on its solid foundation of well-designed mechanics and should easily appeal to any fans of the genre.- Try Hard Guides

No More Room in Hell 2 has potential. I think you only need to play one match to see it. A cooperative zombie-based extraction shooter is a fun idea, and the gore system makes it satisfying to tear through hordes of the undead. However, the game really needs to work on its latency issues and fill in an understandable yet very present lack of content before it’s ready to leave Early Access. Awaken: Astral Blade failed to wow me with passable combat, an underwhelming story, and art that simply didn’t impress. While not a game for me, other fans of the Metroidvania genre may find something worth playing in this seemingly generic title.- Try Hard Guides

Sonic x Shadow Generations is a brand-new, exciting Sonic game generously packaged with a remaster of a beloved franchise title. The $50 price tag is worth it just for Shadow Generations, a fantastic new game that captures the best aspects of the franchise and one of its most beloved characters.- Try Hard Guides

Maybe it’s just me, but I often felt as though a level would generate a plethora of paths that went nowhere. Platforming segments would often appear and then lead directly into a wall or be interrupted by an unjumpable gap or object, making the platforming itself impossible. Despite these shortcomings, Menace from the Deep remains enjoyable for fans of the genre (I’m tentatively calling it “Spire-like”). It’s still fun for those seeking a roguelike with a twist. With some mechanical tweaks, it could become a standout, but currently, it feels like an unrealized opportunity.- Try Hard Guides

Despite these quirks, I’m confident Towers of Aghasba will improve during Early Access. The game’s creative vision, rich world-building, and innovative mechanics have the potential to make it extraordinary. With continued refinement, I believe it will deliver an unforgettable experience. Whether building, restoring the land, or exploring, Towers of Aghasba offers a rich, engaging experience that is well worth your attention. [Early Access Review]- Try Hard Guides

New Arc Line offers a fresh RPG experience, blending high magic and steampunk. While still in Early Access, its unique setting, expansive landscapes, and innovative d100 system show promise, especially for RPG fans seeking personalized experiences. However, localization issues and stiff animations detract from the immersion, making the game feel unfinished. Despite these drawbacks, New Arc Line has the potential to become a standout. Planet Miners could have been unique and fun. By ignoring the RPG and building mechanics of Starbound, it could have doubled down on mining. Instead, it feels like a tech demo—a shallow game that, frankly, I don’t recommend. I’d like to see it pulled from Steam and given more development time.- Try Hard Guides

Even in its current Early Access state, Voin already offers plenty to enjoy. While I felt I mastered the combat and crafted a strong build within the first two hours, that’s not necessarily a bad thing. The developer’s roadmap promises to expand on the already enjoyable experience, adding much more before the game’s full release. That being said, potential buyers should keep in mind that Voin currently lacks content and contains bugs typical of any early-access title. [Early Access Review]- Try Hard Guides

While I’ll leave the NFT aspect for consumers to judge, I will say that Fusionist is engaging and worth trying if you’re interested in a free-to-play game. However, the restrictions in the Early Access playtest might make it better to wait until the full launch before giving it a shot. [Early Access Review]- Try Hard Guides

Project Tower stands out in some places, namely with its gorgeous level design and bullet-hell boss fights, but leaves something to be desired with its core mechanic, which feels underutilized and unnecessarily restrictive. The game is worth checking out if you’re interested, but the short experience may feel a bit railroaded.- Try Hard Guides

Warden’s Will has some great ideas and serves as a fun roguelike you can play solo or with friends. However, a lack of depth and variety makes its longevity questionable, and players might find themselves burnt out after a few hours.- Try Hard Guides

The game’s pacing can feel slow and clunky. Growing your city takes a long time, and camera movement is sluggish. Overall, the game feels awkward and poorly optimized. It seems as though Builders of Egypt skipped an early access or testing phase. That said, the price is reasonable—at $20, it offers an average city-building experience with a unique Egyptian theme. While it may not be groundbreaking, it’s worth checking out if the setting appeals to you.- Try Hard Guides

Final Knight may be a bit clunky with its UI and basic with its beat-em-up gameplay, but it delivers on the fantasy of a party-building adventure game perfectly. If optimizing builds and the promise of strong loot compels you to venture into the lair of dangerous monsters, Final Knight is the game for you. [Early Access Review]- Try Hard Guides

In its current state, Hyper Light Breaker’s combat is simply too difficult, and progression is severely gatekept by a game design that makes the permanent buffs typical of the roguelike genre inaccessible. Paired with some frame drops and optimization issues, it’s safe for me to say that while Hyper Light Breaker is promising, it has some work to do before it’s ready to launch. I didn’t experience any bugs, or if I did, I didn’t notice them. In its current state, the game only contains the first chapter, but that’s already more than enough to keep players engaged while the developers polish the game for its full release which I’m looking forward to. Heart of the Machine is a very interesting game and one that I think has a lot of promise. I think the story could use some polish, the tutorial could be briefer while also being more informative, and some minor graphical bugs, including texture load failures, could be addressed, but the Early Access game has plenty of time to improve upon these aspects to deliver a title with a ton of promise. With some minor adjustments and more time in development, MISTERY could have been a great game. However, as it exists now, the title feels unfinished, somewhat buggy, and hard to access for an English-speaking audience, which may explain why the game doesn’t have many players on its North American servers.- Try Hard Guides

Astronomics is in a very promising state. Some features are missing due to the game’s early access version, but with a fun gameplay loop and a just-out-of-reach goal that keeps you very motivated to keep playing, Astronomics is sure to be a popular hit. [Early Access Review]- Try Hard Guides

The Solid Snake inspirations are clearly intentional when you look at the game’s phenomenal voice cast. Imagine my shock when I not only heard but then rushed to the Steam page to confirm the presence of legendary voice actor and icon of my childhood David Hayter in the role of our protagonist, delivering his delightfully edgy lines with what is undeniably the best voice performance you could ask for a character like this, with maybe Robbie Daymond or Johnny Yong Bosch coming in as distant second choices. Die in the Dungeon offers a fresh and engaging take on the roguelike deckbuilding genre by replacing cards with dice. The combination of strategic placement, energy management, and customizable dice rolls creates a gameplay experience that is both satisfying and full of depth. While the game could benefit from a more intuitive tooltip system to better explain the various effects and keywords, its charming art style, clever mechanics, and the quirky inclusion of frog knights make it an enjoyable and unique title for fans of the genre. Overall, Die in the Dungeon is a fun, innovative game that is well worth exploring. [Early Access Review]- Try Hard Guides

Grimoire Groves took a bit of time to grow on me, but once it did I found myself impressed by its relaxing, adorable atmosphere, its friendly characters, and its unique take on witchy farmcraft. It’s clear that the developers took inspiration from the mysticism in the real-life disaster zone, as well as games like S.T.A.L.K.E.R. that also explore this area. However, if you ask me, it feels as though a lot of their writing and world-building expanded beyond the scope of their original interest, becoming a bit too bloated in scale. It simply felt to me at several points that a character with the powers that he had, working for the people he works for, shouldn’t have been stranded as he was in an area you can drive through in half an hour. The game, at least as it was presented in the demo, would have been a lot more engaging story-wise with a protagonist who was a little closer to the ground, especially one without the ability to “walk between worlds.” [Early Access Review]- Try Hard Guides
