This is one of my favorite high-flying games on iOS. It looks fantastic, provides solid options for controls and has a cool story that makes each and every task feel important. I would love to have seen some multiplayer and improved cutscenes. That being said, this is a damn good game that I absolutely loved, and highly recommend.

A fresh and unique take on 3D puzzles executed perfectly for iOS.

Pool Pro Online 3 then is really for multiplayer junkies only. The game does have a solid single player experience, and it is advised you check it out for a bit of practice before hitting online, but without a career mode and other options, it falls short of other single player pool games on the AppStore.

Uplink is a classic that works really well on the iPad. I still prefer playing it on a PC though, as it connects closer to the subject matter. At times the game feels a bit too real, and too serious and I really just want to disconnect. This is the main problem with this kind of game: it takes commitment, and can't be played casually.

Caverns of Minos is a highly playable, funny take on Lunar Lander and chopper rescue games from the past. The brilliant, and unique controls paired with a visual flurry of sensations the game is hard to stop playing. Get Caverns of Minos, dim the lights, put headphones on and go crazy.

A welcoming but challenging experience. While not everyone will be able to enjoy this wargame, it clearly does not try to be a game that everyone would love to play. This is a deep and thought provoking experience, and not one to be missed.

Scurvy Scallywags accomplishes exactly that, with the hallmark wit of Gilbert & Kauzlaric The game takes the match-3 genre, gives it a fresh spin and adds enough joy to keep playing over and over again.

Mini Squadron is a fantastic shooter. Combining a retro feel, with something that feels fresh and new. Add in great pick-up-and-play gameplay and a hectic multiplayer experience (local only), and I can't recommend it enough for shooter fans.

The story is not that deep, but still the game manages to incorporate a lot of characters and locations. City of Secrets gets my warmest recommendation.

Bit.Trip Beat then is a great game and one that I think all iDevice owners should experience. It's challenging, original and addictive, despite sending you back to the beginning when you fail.

Arachnadoodle is a must buy combining the crack that is Peggle with nifty spider controls, and zany graphics.

A thrilling ride from beginning to end. Its crazy japanese visual style combined with a mash up of rock and techno music (including a cameo from tubular bells) is a joy to behold. Combine that with intense shooter action, item upgrades, a bizarre storyline, and multiple endings, and you have one of the best shooters on the AppStore.

Swords and Soldiers doesn't take itself too seriously and makes for a perfect introduction for RTS first timers and a great casual experience for more veteran players.

Gameplay is slick and simple, the music and sound effects are right on the mark too.

Dungeon Hunter 2 gets my full recommendation, and it is one of the best most playable games for 2010 in my opinion.

Monopoly is very customizable, with things like starting cash, auctions, free parking money, and the GO payout on the list to be configured.

I can't hide my love for Alien Breed even if the story isn't more advanced than that found in Doom, or other shooters.

Yes it borrows heavily from both Animal Crossing and Harvest Moon, but not only does it scratch an itch for that kind of game on the Appstore, it does the job equally as well, and in many instances it does them better.

Thanks to Modern Combat 3's fantastic multiplayer, not only will I be able to reclaim my right as a gamer to blow people up at 3 in the morning, but because we're now in an era where this is all possible on my phone, any location in the world is open to me and my underpants.

The Room is a must have for the iPad 2/New iPad with the best puzzles, and puzzle mechanics of 2012. Everything about the game is polished, and highly compelling. I can't think of a better place to escape to when you are looking for your keys for the third time in a day

ARC Squadron is easily one of the best shooters on the AppStore right now.

With online scores, and achievements through OpenFeint gamelife the game turns into a complete package. To me Giana Sisters is among the best platform games for the iPhone alongside Soosiz and Earthworm Jim.

If you want a fun rogue experience I can fully recommend Sword of Fargoal. It is polished, has loads of gamelife and you can win $500 if you manage to be the first to actually find the Sword of Fargoal giving quite a lot of incentive to find it.

It is a great port with a good save system, bookmarks and multitasking compatibility. The puzzles are intriguing, and the game world is immense.

NyxQuest is one of the best platformers I have played on any iOS device. It looks and sounds stunning, has a great setting and is generally a joy to play.

The Incident is an incredibly cool game, delivering addictive arcade platforming wrapped in classic packaging. It's a budget beauty!

Great graphics, audio and gamelife paired with workable controls make for a great experience not to be missed.

A must buy in my book. Quirky racing across weird levels is too much fun to pass up.
