While playing Morphite I had to keep reminding myself that this is a low budget indie game, because the developers have crammed in an awful lot. Yes there are moments when the mechanics jar, the space travelling can get tiring and it sometimes looks too old fashioned. But there’s a lengthy campaign, a lot to explore and a good story.

It is no exaggeration to say that the final mission of the game, one that takes over an hour to complete, has more story in it than the whole of the first game. Better writing, a story (and a good one at that) and a series of vast new worlds to explore make Destiny 2 a must play for anyone who like aliens, guns and shooting aliens with guns.

Episode Two “Giant Consequences” is a great addition to an already exciting second season of Minecraft: Story Mode and is well worth a look.

Overall, and whilst Baja: Edge of Control HD isn’t anywhere near close to the “Forza-for-off-road fans” experience that many gamers have been clamouring for, there are still plenty of improvements to be found with a title that was overly disappointing on its initial release back in 2008.

I for one would love to see the return of anti-gravity racers to the market once more, but Redout simply doesn’t provide the same magic seen in previous titles in the genre, and with a hefty price tag to accompany it, this is probably one headache we can all do without.

The graphics are truly fantastic, the audio is quite high in quality, and the gameplay is fun for those that like racing down a hill, dodging/smashing your way through obstacles.

Overall there is a lot to love about Jettomero: Hero of the Universe – it is original and quirky, has some amazing little mini-games and delivers a sad lonely story about being a robot all alone in the universe.

With a price point that is so low, a story that will keep you playing for a good few hours, and then the draw of the Challenge mode to keep you going back for more, you’ll struggle to find any other game that allows the same joy to both shooting fans and puzzle fiends alike.

White Noise 2 should be marked in two ways. You see, playing with online friends is brilliant fun – full stop. The whole experience is exhilarating and scary, whilst still remaining a lot of fun. But that said, playing solo or with a group of randoms can be a very different playing experience.

Madden 18 is a rewarding and highly enjoyable game that offers its players a chance of glory and a free reign over how they want to become a franchise legend.

Yes it has some serious pacing issues and the long conversations where you don’t seem to be doing much can grate. But the gameplay is solid, with some interesting extras and it still looks very pretty indeed.

If you had previously picked up Mantis Burn Racing and enjoyed the deep career and brilliant multiplayer offerings that it delivered, then you really should head back in for a bit of fun and games with guns and mines.

I love Planet of the Eyes. It’s a short game, but a perfect adventure that comes with a smart sci-fi story.

Feral Fury is exactly what you should expect to find if you were to cross indie sensation The Binding of Isaac, with cult hit Ziggurat before adding a touch of the old school original Doom titles.

With enough RPG elements to help give players something else to focus on, and a vast selection of tracks included, this is one game that rhythm fans should possibly be getting involved in - it isn’t quite the most enjoyable game in the genre, but it certainly holds its own.

If all you want is an interesting, but complex, tale of war and politics, then Masquerada: Songs and Shadows is probably worth a punt. If not, just wait for it to drop in price a little. It’s not a bad game; it just seems to have lost focus on a few things.

Overall and I enjoyed X-Morph: Defense much more than I thought I would. The gameplay is easy to control and all the mechanics work very well indeed. There’s a lot to do in the campaign and the co-op mode adds extra relish to an already meaty package. I have to admit to feeling a bit of boredom quite quickly though, but as I said Tower Defense fanatics should ignore my ignorance and add another half star to this review. It feels very retro in both its looks and sounds, but that’s not a bad thing.

SwapQuest is priced low enough to be worthy of a cheerful experience that can be enjoyed by all ages, especially given the option for family members and friends to adventure in two player local co-op. But only purchase it if you’re happy with a simple puzzler that lacks on the RPG front.

Surf World Series is a major disappointment. To compare it to other extreme sports games from far bigger studios – games like SSX or the Tony Hawks series – may seem unfair, but this has fallen way too short for me to enjoy and I can’t ever look past its problems.

Whilst Megaman Legacy Collection 2 will be a welcome arrival for any fan of the Megaman series, I can’t help but feel it would have been nicer to see a few more evolved features make an appearance, and maybe even a full graphical upgrade too
