Moonglow Bay is not without its flaws. It’s too undercooked, with bugs and knotty boss moments. But its story of fighting back from grief and depression swells the heart, and we could happily spend a half-hour every day in its world. We can feel our blood pressure sink as we play it.

Undernauts: Labyrinth of Yomi is definitely a game that you need to stick with, being patient, but if you do then you will be rewarded well, as you make your way through more dungeons and face off against all kinds of dangerous beasts.

You know those experimental and diverse games that should be played by everyone? Milky Way Prince - The Vampire Star is one of those.

In a few words, if you like things a bit different, then I would highly recommend trying Sorry We’re Closed.

I would highly recommend giving The Long Dark a go, especially if you’re after something different and love the idea of a survival sim with an interesting story.

I’ve really enjoyed this latest and last piece of DLC for We Happy Few. It’s been an excellent season of extra gaming goodness, and if you decide to play through the base game plus all of the additional extras you’ll discover a very tasty package indeed.

Octopath Traveler on Xbox is a game that expertly marries a traditional JRPG with more modern ideas. It should be immediately obvious that this is the intention with the “HD-2D” visuals, but even after only a short time playing it feels so well-executed.

Arzette: The Jewel of Faramore works well. The art style is a bit like Marmite in that you’ll either love it or not, but the bones of the game are strong whilst the action on offer is very good.

Astor: Blade of the Monolith is well worth a play. It isn’t often I finish a game and then go straight back into New Game +, but this is one that will tempt you. There are annoyances, but the action and the story are both good enough to ensure this is a recommendation.

It may not be that much of a surprise but Taiko no Tatsujin: The Drum Master! is massively enjoyable. While the songs range from easy to “surely only an octopus can hit all these notes!”, the challenge can be tweaked to suit everyone, and it turns out that a little drumming is a surprisingly relaxing pastime.

It might not be the biggest or longest open-world, but Immortals Fenyx Rising on Xbox manages to cram a hell of a lot in. It takes huge swathes of inspiration from Breath of the Wild, almost unapologetically so at times. But by also taking cues from Assassin’s Creed and God of War – plus many more – it carves out a little unique space for itself. Whether it is the start of another franchise from Ubisoft remains to be seen, though the DLC plans would suggest a much wider narrative.

RollerCoaster Tycoon Classic brings together the first, and best, two games in the series in one bumper package. Although not all that much has been done to update the source material, it remains one of the best theme park sim games out there.

Artifex Mundi have delivered a worthy follow-up in Enigmatis 2. I’m intrigued as to what comes next in the Enigmatis series, as it has been a great on-going tale so far.

If you have played them before, and you’ve grown frustrated that 8floor Games never seem to release a coherent, bug-free and ambitious title, then stop the Argo for a moment. Argonauts Agency 1: Golden Fleece is the one.

Song of Iron will get its hooks into you, refusing to let go until you reach the end. Yes, there are some weird control configurations to get used to and at times you may find yourself lost and confused, unsure what to do next. But there is an overwhelming feeling of being involved in a huge epic saga throughout; one that is grand, sweeping, and brilliantly executed.

Whilst there isn’t really much to the gameplay aspect of Infinite Minigolf, it must be said that the simplicity throughout only helps to make the game even more addictive.

AI: THE SOMNIUM FILES has been an interesting game to play through. Whilst the visual look may not immediately be appealing, give the narrative a chance and you’ll become invested. Just don’t expect the theory you form throughout your play time to hold up...

Inferno 2+ on Xbox One is a solid, thumping tribute to the twin-stick shooter genre. Its RPG elements provide some differentiation from the crowd and there’s loads to keep you busy.

We’d love to meet the people behind Garlic. We imagine they’re mad as a hatter and great fun to be around, because that’s precisely how we’d describe Garlic. It may not be big, it may not be clever, but it’s plenty weird, and the action-platforming is so polished that you’ll be sprinting through that weirdness with a whacking great smile on your face.

With a little more polish Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader could have been a strong contender as a genre leader, but as it is, we have to pull back on that a bit. Yet still, if you like Warhammer or CRPGs, this is an easy sell.

Nowhere Prophet on Xbox One is a quality experience for what it intends to do, even if it is a bit of an acquired taste. It is soundly designed as a single player card game and will certainly appeal to its intended audience.

There is a lot of game to go at in Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny, as well as a host of bosses to beat, each one providing a stellar challenge. If you like samurai affairs, or the Onimusha games in general, Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny is an easy sell, as it is very much more of the same.
