A title with so much potential, Blood Bowl 3 fumbles the ball in the final minute.

It feels like being lost is part of the intended journey and so if you are a fan of the original game, then you will have a good, hellish time with Rain World: The Watcher.

Dungeon Minesweeper is a fun update on a classic game. It adds layers upon a simple concept and does a good job of explaining the entire process.

Onigo Hunter is a KEMCO game and if you’ve played any of those previously, you’ll know what to expect here. There is the good stuff, like the capture and crafting system, and the tedious stuff, like the seemingly endless toing and froing to complete the main quest.

You can’t deny the intelligence of Life is Strange 2 – or any part of the entire Life is Strange franchise for that matter – but I feel that sometimes this at the expense of entertainment. It would be great to play at least a small portion of the game as Daniel, so you get to experience using his power – this would add a welcome new dimension to the gameplay.

It took us some time to navigate the brambles, but APFTU - A Place for the Unwilling was worth the journey. It is not friendly or fast, and you could even say that it’s broken, at least in places. But there’s a noble aim here: to create a world where you couldn’t possibly do the right thing all the time, and you certainly can’t do everything.

This a fighting game that is enjoyable almost despite the gore, not because of it. It’s bonkers story mode is the highlight here, the great animation and crunching impacts help, but then the Towers of Time throw a spanner in the works at the last moment.

The story starts slow, but picks up pace, and the combat is fun, so Star Ocean The Divine Force does enough to get a decent mark in my book, without ever threatening to set the world on fire.

Whilst Fling to the Finish works in single player mode, it really comes alive in multiplayer. If you have a regular pal to play with, either online or on the couch, then Fling to the Finish is an easy sell. But if you don’t have such a friend…

For some, the grind, lack of continued narrative and difficulty curve will be a little off-putting to say the least, but at the end of the day, this is a rogue-like experience that brings an original adventure and a decent challenge that will keep you going for some time.

Project Motor Racing is a game of two, uneven halves. The actual driving is properly challenging, as you want a sim racer to be, but the rest of the experience is ruined by some over zealous AI, bad controls and ridiculous track limit rules.

I absolutely adore the crisp, comedic visuals and I even find the storytelling pretty humorous. The gameplay itself is testing (in a good way), and the overall concept is well thought out. The problem is, that damn control scheme really does take some getting used to – and that’s even after switching away from the horrid slingshot method.

If you have a fondness for retro platformers like Bubble Bobble, and you sense that you’d be more patient with some old-school game mechanics, then Jack Dragon and the Stone of Peace has been made especially for you. Drop down the £3.29 and treat yourself. Everyone else can pass this one by, and that’s fine.

Bad Cheese is a creatively important game and one that many will love, especially those who enjoy the 1920s cartoon visual style. I do think the gameplay gets a bit samey, doesn’t quite click at times, and feels a bit stiff. But the number of tasks you can action, and the machines that you get to operate and play with, are a lot of fun.

Family Mysteries 2: Echoes of Tomorrow on Xbox is prime nonsense; a retelling of Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines but peppered with spot-the-difference puzzles and hidden objects, as if Arnie was sent back in time to tidy someone’s room. It’s supremely camp, but the best hidden object games are, and you’ll likely forgive the dodgy animations and script by the time you reach the end of its entertaining three or four hours. Ignore the ‘2’ in the title: this is a strong entry point for the genre, and one of its best to boot.

We’re racking our brains, and we think Home Sheep Home: Farmageddon Party Edition represents the best Aardman game we’ve played. It’s got some knots in the wool with regard to its physics engine and stacking characters on top of each other, but otherwise you can be confident in a cooperative family experience that will reveal just how helpful you all are.

Ravva and the Phantom Library is a significant step forward from the first game. And if you haven’t played Ravva and the Cyclops Curse, then know that this is a puzzle-platformer with substance. It has its fiddly moments, but it’s also got a knack for creating dense, sprawling levels with a fun-to-figure-out boss at the end.

There are a few problems here and there – and these ensure that it never makes the perfect adventure – but if you’re after something that feels familiar, yet still manages to deliver a very unique world, then please have a bash at Aritana and The Twin Masks.

Originality is always present in Journey of Johann: Cave Explorer, whether it’s for good or bad, but that is where the issues arise; a distinct, speedrunning-based foundation of gameplay is often juxtaposed through poorly designed stages, feeling as though they were thrown together.

What is important is that Dogfight: A Sausage Bomber Story is a tight shoot ’em up. Not only that, but it’s packing four-player couch co-op and an incredible number of weapons. Dogfight: A Sausage Bomber Story, against the odds, is a game to relish.

PAW Patrol World isn’t made for us adults. It’s Adventure Bay and surrounding areas, with all of the barriers removed. It’s a glorious playset, the entire TV series ready for kids to reach in and enjoy. That’s something that none of the previous games have managed.

60 Seconds! Reatomized on Xbox is a fun, challenging game, but it lacks the refinement it needs to make it a great game. If you like the post-apocalyptic aesthetic though and are in the mood for a dark comedy survival game, then this isn’t the worst choice in the world.

Adore is simple by design but this means enjoyment is spread more thinly the longer you play. Its depth of customisation options and range of items to acquire will keep your interest for a while, but before long Adore can feel like a little bit of a grind.

The first few hours of Surviving Mars are frustrating and the game can come across a bit disappointing; stick with it though and once you have figured out what to do all by yourself – due to the ineffective tutorial tips – the game opens up and almost becomes a completely different experience.

For the price, Demon’s Crystals is a fine playthrough. Okay, so it may not have the depth of other twin stickers and it’s seriously missing an online component which would no doubt have been hugely well received, but for the price of a beer, BadLand Games have delivered a massively fun experience.
