UFC 5 is a decisive leap forward compared to the past as well as a game that takes the discipline it tries to simulate into very high regard. The approach is profound and requires both commitment and concentration even in the least simulative mode. On the other hand, it can be very rewarding once you have mastered the mechanics. The transition to Frostbyte was positive not so much in the graphic leap, which was still evident, but in the animations and the links that connect them.

With its pros and its cons deliberately left mostly as sharp as they were, confirming itself as one of a kind not only for the nostalgia effect on which the Vicarious Visions have focused, Diablo 2: Resurrected has thrown the Blizzard masterpiece twenty-one years forward with a crazy care. It was not and is not a game for everyone, but what a pleasure to deal with the Devil again.

Tomb Raider I-III Remastered is a careful, respectful and well-handled re-proposal of three masterpieces now available for new and past generation consoles. It is a great proof of preservation in a landscape that, at times, cannot keep up with the times. Returning to the role of Lara Croft is always an absolute thrill, exactly like the first time, which for me was with Tomb Raider: Legend.

Mouse: P.I. For Hire is a first-person shooter that manages to transform extraordinary art direction into a solid and fun gaming experience. It has some (little) limitations, but it's a truly promising debut for Fumi Games.

Valentino Rossi The Game is the best videogame by Milestone so far, full of things to do and a good physical engine under the hood. Some issues still need to be fixed, but the overall vision (from the previous MotoGP games) is preserved, and even enhanced. Give it a chance.

A return that doesn't revolutionise, but confirms that Kirby and the Lost Land is still one of the most successful chapters in the series. The graphical upgrade and new content don't transform the experience into something completely different, but they offer the perfect excuse to return and explore the meticulous level design and creativity of the Mouth Morphs. The level remixes, although familiar, prove surprising thanks to new paths and spectacular visual interactions, demonstrating how even a small adjustment can breathe new life into an already beloved world. Short, yes, but intense enough to remind us why the chubby pink hero always manages to make us smile and make every exploration a pleasure.

Light-hearted as the flight of a butterfly, refreshing as water raised by the dart of a fish and relaxing as a sunny summer afternoon. Shiro and the Coal Town is an old-fashioned title that requires no special skills, but if played with the right spirit can awaken sweet emotions, welcoming you into a typically Japanese rural atmosphere.

BALL x PIT takes the simple mechanics of a brick-breaker like Ballz and transforms them into an explosive roguelite RPG. Between twin-stick shooter action, Vampire Survivors-style power-ups, and surprisingly deep city building, each playthrough becomes a whirlwind of frenetic action and strategic planning. Unlocking new powers, fusing abilities, and upgrading your base is an irresistible gameplay loop, enhanced by beautifully crafted biomes and bullet hell battles against ruthless bosses. Kenny Sun once again proves his ability to transform simple ideas into brilliant and engaging experiences.

Much more than a simple remaster, Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga brings all the freshness of the first episode of the series, imbued with a lot of new stuff that adds content without denaturalizing the DNA of the game. Well done, Nintendo.

Hi-Fi Rush is what happens when Tango Gameworks unlocks its ancestor DNA, finding ways beyond the Resident Evil-ish production and remembering about Viewtiful Joe and that early-2000 mood in video games. It's what happens when Devil May Cry finds about the iPod and the 1 dollar the track music, crafting a little game but with a great rockstar attitude.

Fun, varied, and packed with different game modes, MLB The Show 26 offers a complete experience that leaves little to be desired, easily catering to baseball fans of all kinds. While this year’s changes don’t make a major impact — mostly refining what was already an excellent gameplay foundation — the core experience remains as strong as ever. For those ready to dive back in for another season of pitching duels, strikeouts, and towering home runs, the game delivers a well-rounded package that suits both a more casual playstyle and those looking for a true Major League-level challenge.

The Bearded Ladies is experienced in the turn-based tactics genre and Miasma Chronicles shows it convincingly, with the studio trademark mix of stealth and tactic providing an engaging approach to most combat situations (sometimes the enemies will get the drop on you. Life isn’t fair). A pity for a climax that is perhaps too sudden, and a plot that isn’t as good as the atmosphere.

Out of Hands is imperfect and perfect at the same time, uncomfortable on purpose, but above all deeply fascinating. It is a narrative experiment disguised as a deck-builder, which finds in surreal exposition and dreamlike narration a very strong identity and, for this reason, is not suitable for everyone. It does not revolutionize the deck-builder game genre, but it can be unforgettable for those who love unique experiences that leave a strange feeling, like those disturbing dreams of which in the morning you only remember a few fragments.

F1 2021 incorporates (and improves) all the features of the previous F1 games developed by Codemasters. Driving is fun and can be adapted to suit both newbies and those looking for a sufficiently complex experience, although players who look for a full simulation might be slightly disappointed. Game modes are numerous, varied and well structured. Both those who love to run alone and those who prefer to compete with (or against) other players will find something that will keep them busy for months.

Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon is a return in style for the series of robots signed FromSoftware. Despite some frankly incomprehensible slip-ups, including the presence of invisible walls and stealth missions that seem to come from two or three generations ago, the Japanese studio's work manages to offer frenetic and deep combat, as well as heart-pounding boss battles and an incredibly diverse customization system.

For fans of the original, there will be no problem facing the original Demon's Souls, hard and pure in an aesthetically sumptuous context, damn vivid even in the disturbing rottenness that surrounds it, while for others it may be difficult to swallow an extremely mechanical title, which has exactly the same flaws it had in 2009, especially on the artificial intelligence side. However, the experience remains fascinating, thanks above all to a masterful level design, galvanizing as well as terrifying, that dictates the rhythm of a role-playing experience that is certainly solid and violent.
